Saweetie’s Favorite Restaurants In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"“When I was living with my cousins, they lived walking distance [from here]—maybe like a 10-minute walk. And when I could afford it, I would go over there and I would eat the lomo saltado. The lomo saltado is potatoes and a little bit of veggies with some skirt steak cut up with some rice. What really makes me love this meal is, at the time I couldn't afford to eat it as much as I wanted to. So I actually looked up the recipe for this dish on Youtube and learned how to make lomo saltado because I loved it that much after eating it here. So this place always has a special place in my heart because I love the food so much. But I'm definitely still a Postmates girlie on this one.”" - brennan carley

Absolutely love this place! I have been coming here since I was a kid with my parents and now I get to bring my boyfriend of 4 years to celebrate out anniversary!!! Not only is the food amazing, authentic and absolutely delicious, but their service, the friendly waiters and the atmosphere/environment of the place is just incredible. The Lomo Saltado is to die for and their Maracuya... ommmgggg. Totally recomend for a dinner date, casual lunch or just any occasion really! Will definitely be going back soon!!!

Google
A fantastic Peruvian restaurant that has very delicious, authentic food in a cozy setting. The menu is huge with lots of different options and something for everyone. Everything we ordered tasted great and were large portions and very satisfying. It really tastes like homemade comfort food and the staff are very friendly.

I went to Mamitas Experian Peruvian Food on Glendale Blvd and really liked the environment. It’s a cool spot, nice for a date night. There were a couple of people there after work just hanging out, and it has a nice little open area. I noticed they have a beautiful back patio too, but I didn’t get a chance to go back there. The food was good and flavorful, just a little different from what I’m used to, but in a great way. I ordered the lomo saltado, and I liked that it came in a red sauce – the waiter explained that’s how they prepare it here, and I really enjoyed it. The bread they served was good, and the sauce that came with it was different from what I expected, but I liked it too. Overall, it was a new experience for me, and I loved it. Great customer service, delicious food, and a nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend stopping by!

Good food, great service. Lomo saltado was delicious

Some of the best Peruvian food I've had in the area!

Google
First time here. The food could have been way better. Maybe it's me, but I don't think a plate of dry rice with peas and carrots (other veggies) and chunks of dry chicken is very appealing. It looked like a side dish piled high on the plate. Plus chicken and rice is not fun to eat when dry, everything about the dish Pollo al Jardinera just felt over cooked. Hopefully the rest of the menu is better.

I've been to a few Peruvian restaurants and full disclosure, Mario's is still my favorite. Having said that I try and not compare every Peruvian restaurant to Mario's but it's hard being that their food is so good. SO, I always order the Pescado Macho at all Peruvian restaurants and I did the same here. Mamita's Pescado Macho is very different from all others that I've had in that the sauce is soupy. It's not a soup, but the sauce is very watery and more soupy. My favorite part of the dish was the fried fish. Dare I say, the fried fish was even better than Mario's? But the rest of the dish was just ok. Overall, I would not order this dish again. I would order just the fried fish though. We also ordered the shrimp and chicken fried rice and the noodles with beef and both were good. Not great, but good. Now the green sauce, Aji verde sauce. I liked this one, but it was a bit more watery than Mario's and not as spicy. Still good though. Peruvian food without the sauce just wouldn't be the same. For me, the sauce made my meal more enjoyable. Overall, I would come back here if I was craving Peruvian food and couldn't make it to Mario's. However, if there was another Peruvian place in the area, I would try that first.

Google
As someone who has been to Peru several times, this is probably the closest you’re gonna get to authentic Peruvian food. The vibes are immaculate and the food is absolutely delicious! I love their lomo saltado and tallarín saltado, but honestly you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Great for large dinner parties as well as they have outside seating!

Yelp
Warm, Welcoming, and Worth It - Especially for the Ceviche! Mamita's Peruvian Restaurant has a cozy, family-run charm that immediately makes you feel at home. The space is quaint and cute, with warm, thoughtful decor that adds to its inviting vibe. Inside, there's plenty of room to settle in, and the outdoor dining area is perfect for larger groups looking to enjoy a relaxed meal together. We tried the lomo saltado and the mixed ceviche, and hands down, the ceviche stole the show. Bright, zesty, and ultra-fresh, the flavors danced with just the right amount of acidity--it was the kind of dish you think about long after the last bite. The lomo saltado, however, didn't quite hit the mark for me. The sauce felt a little off compared to other versions I've had, though I couldn't quite put my finger on why. That said, I'd absolutely come back for the ceviche alone and would love to explore more of the menu. Just a heads up--parking is street-only, as there's no dedicated lot, but the experience inside more than makes up for it.

Yelp
We looooove this place! This is our go-to Peruvian spot and we've been coming here for years! Our favorites are their Pescado a lo Macho and Chupe de Mariscos! We tried their calamares for the first time and it's been added to the favorites too. Their portions are huge and everything is delicious! The restaurant is a small, cozy space. The staff treats you like family. They're very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a must visit! The only downside is that they don't have parking- it's only street parking, but Glendale street parking isn't as bad as LA so finding a spot isn't too hard.

Yelp
We came to this place several times and we love it! Their lomo saltado is a must!!! That's what we get every single time and that's what we come for! Their food is always solid! (Though one out of the few times everything came out a little too salty - but that can be a fluke I hope!) Their service is nice and friendly and the restaurant itself can be nice and cozy! You might have to find street parking but there are also some parking spots nearby the front!

Yelp
I've been coming here for a while as I've grown up in Glendale my whole life. Today, it was so lovely to be seated outside in the back because of our big party. We were there celebrating my father-in-law's birthday and retirement, so of course it had to be somewhat big. But I really want to thank David for his hospitality. He was cheerful and attentive to us. He had a huge smile and friendly attitude the whole time. It truly was a wonderful experience today out of all the times and we won't forget it. Oh and my always fave here is the lomo saltado and ceviche along with the green sauce. Mamita's bests!

Yelp
My first time here at Mamita Peruvian Restaurant in Glendale and I truly love this place. Excellent food, and service, and very clean Restaurant. The ceviche was truly amazing, the fried Calamari was prepared to perfection, the Saltado de Pollo with fries was mouthwatering and tender, as well the Lomo Saltado was delicious. I will definitely be dinning here again soon.
google avatar

Yelp
Mamita has some fantastic Peruvian food and I highly recommend it. I've been a few times before, and I always go for the Tallarin Saltado, which is spaghetti with beef strips . The beef is juicy and tender, and go so amazingly well with the green sauce. We also ordered Platanos, aquadito de pollo, & Saltado de pollo. Definitely a complete meal with large portions. The restaurant has a nice modern decor. There is also dimmed lighting, which adds to the ambiance. The service speed was pretty quick and our waitress was friendly and attentive. The only negative is parking. It's on brand blvd with all the dealerships . You have to get real lucky to find a spot out front. The closest parking I found was two blocks away on a residential street.

Yelp
Mamitas in one of my favorite Peruvian spots I have ever been to. To be honest I found Mamitas to be better than all the spots we went to in Peru itself! The place is nestled between the Mercedes and BMW dealership in Glendale. You can always find parking outside the dealerships. The place is pretty small and def has a family run vibe to it. Nothing fancy about this place but you will get solid food every time. I have been here about 20 times and the food is always super consistent. The service is quick and efficient. Highly Recommend Fish Ceviche (5/5 Best ceviche ever) Vapor Fish (5/5 Steamed White Fish) Veggie Fried Rice (5/5) Lomo Saltado (5/5) You will not be disappointed with Mamitas I highly recommend it!

Yelp
GREAT PLACE FOR PERUVIAN FOOD ============================= Got a break from the wind and our local Eaton Canyon Fire was contained, so we met some friends for dinner. My husband, as I've mentioned numerous times, is very picky. If he does not like the food then that is the kiss of death. Thankfully I have an idea what he will like so I told him to order the lomo saltado a second time. He ate every last bite, so that's good. I love the shrimp and ordered the saltado the first time, but for my second visit I ordered the dish without the potatoes. I did not take photos, but you can see lots online. Make a reservation and try to go early. It gets busy.

Yelp
This restaurant has really captured my heart. Have been here for a date and a birthday dinner with family, and both times it has delivered. Although the food may be a bit on the pricier side, you are paying for quality, seasoned food. Super nice servers and love both the cozy inside and spacious outdoor seating! They start you off with soft, warm bread served with this green sauce I could guzzle for hours. Would recommend the lomo saltado, ceviche, and Inca kola to go with your meal! Must go to in Glendale.
google avatar

Monica C.

Yelp
Never a disappointment with Mamitas. It's been a while but I got the usual Lomo Saltado and the tamarin verdes with beef steak. My beloved soup is no longer on the menu but we tried the mixed ceviche and it was a hit. Generous mix of seafood, well marinated.
google avatar

Clarice T.

Yelp
Love this quaint little place. The food is delicious and staff are friendly. The green sauce is *chef's kiss*. Everything in their menu is delicious. When I come here, I always order their lomo soltado with 2 eggs :)

Yelp
Mamita's always hits the spot! Our latest visit was on Valentine's Day and we were able to snag a table inside. They have inside and outside dining. There's a patio out back with outdoor heaters. The service was good that night and they were very attentive. The food here is great. The chicha morada is my go to drink & everything we've tried has been amazing. Can't go wrong with the Tallarin dishes, yucca and platanos. Parking is a struggle as it's mostly street parking, but it's worth it.

Yelp
Hands down the Best Peruvian food in the Valley. I literally come from San Diego NOW to pick up some Loma from this place when in town. Service is always great and it has a nice dine inside or outside area. Ambiance is nice. The green sauce is THE BEST !!!
google avatar

Yanina G.

Yelp
Very good Peruvian food. Nice little cozy restaurant. Plates are big and delicious. Service attentive and fast. Overall a great experience.
google avatar

Sandra A.

Yelp
Ordered ceviche mixto and beef lomo saltado to go. Enjoyed both, serving size is solid. Service was fast. The bread they serve before the meal was fluffy and fresh. Their green sauce is great and spicy but their food is so well seasoned I barely needed it. There's some street parking out front and plenty of neighborhood parking.

Laura L.

Yelp
I used to live in Glendale and found this amazing Peruvian Restaurant! I have since then moved and have tried nearby Peruvian restaurants, but none of them as good. I was in the area and dropped in for my favorite dish (pescado saltado) and my vivir did not disappoint. The place has been updated but the food is just as good as I remember it. Best Peruvian food, hands down. The service is great...I highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Mamita Peruvian is located on Brand Ave sandwiched between a BMW and Mercedes Benz dealership; easily missed as your driving by. Ambiance is nice. It's modern casual with dimly lit with soft yellows and natural lighting shining through- relaxing. The lively music playing in the background not too loud. Casual restaurant with Nice vibes. Service was polite and attentive. Food: The Aji Verde here is perfect! Not laden with mayo or too spicy, just right! Everything we ordered was delicious! The Lomo Saltado which seems to be ordered at every table was just ok to me. The meat was tough, otherwise a flavorful dish. Parking: On Brand Blvd (busy street, among a bunch of car dealerships). I didn't see valet option or private parking. Payment: Credit/Cash.

Yelp
Food is great but the service the day I went was not great. We order food but before we order I as the waiter if he could give a glass of water for my granddaughter and he said give me a minute he didn't come back after 15 min and it took a while for him to come and take our order once we order I told him I would also like to order a mar y Tiera salitiado not only did he bring it when he brought our food but he gave me the wrong order maybe it was my fault I didn't check it there but when I got home I call to let them know and I spoke to a lady name Aida and she took my information and said she will let her manager know and they would return my call it's going to be a week and they still having call me back to give me a refund I call twice and Aida told me she would have her manager call and never did. When placing and order to go please checked it before leaving.

Yelp
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Glendale might not be the first place you'd expect to find stellar Peruvian food, but here it is--unapologetically authentic, deeply satisfying. The lomo saltado? Perfectly executed, a balance of soy, vinegar, and seared beef that hits just right. The ceviche? Bright, fresh, with that punch of citrus and heat that wakes up the senses. Service? Warm, efficient--like they actually care. I'm a fan of this cuisine, and this place delivers.
google avatar

Leyda P.

Yelp
Food was delicious. The setting was fun and easy going, music playing gave it a fun vibe. Highly recommend it. Plenty of parking except during business hours when the nearby dealerships take over the spots.
google avatar

Jeanette G.

Yelp
We have been here several times and they have great food Peruvian food. We have had a few items but love the Lomo Saltado and the ceviche. They have both indoor and outdoor seating which is great. If they are busy like any other place expect a bit of a delay, but overall great. The staff is friendly as well.
google avatar

Bella A.

Yelp
Still bomb. It is on the pricier side this time around for two of us it was $87 bucks i have added the pictures of what we had and two drinks. The food it definitely yummy. Good service and nice inside
google avatar

Valentin S.

Yelp
Been here a few times and it never disappoints. Some bread and butter to start. The lomo saltado is my go to here. I set aside a generous amount of the green sauce for extra flavor and heat. Wish I should have an infinite supply of it! Plenty of parking along the strip of car dealerships makes it easy to park.
google avatar

Monica A.

Yelp
This was the first Peruvian spot that I ever tried and it's so good! I usually get the classic lomo soltado dish. The green sauce they have so yummy and spicy. I always get extra! I highly recommend you try this family owned restaurant!
google avatar

Monica C.

Yelp
Food here is to die for! Very flavorful and delicious, glad they have an authentic Peruvian restaurant around the area. The restaurant itself is small situated on a corner near dealers. The service here was prompt, and the food here is just oh so yummy! We got the ceviche mixto, lomito lomo saltado, ý tallarin verde con bistec. All very flavorful and very filling, portion size was great proportion as well! Thank you so much, will be definitely coming back!
google avatar

Rachael H.

Yelp
We have always loved coming here for many many years. Although the prices have gone up quite a bit over the last few years, it is still quality food. It is best when you eat in. Service is good when they aren't too busy/crowded! Food is fresh, quality ingredients. Look saltado with egg is the go to for us but sometimes I like to switch it up. Chicken with vegetables is also yummy! This time I tried the Milanese de pollo with spaghetti which ended up being two full meals it was so much food so definitely worth the price. Love the rolls and green hot sauce!! Def my fav part of this restaurant! It is a cute, quaint little set up with booths and chairs. Not too big so if you go during a busy hour, you may need to wait to be seated. Over all, we love it here
google avatar

Christine Vartzbedian ..

Yelp
Good food, great service! Will bring the whole family next time! I recommend if you've never tried Peruvian food!
google avatar

Marisela G.

Yelp
Food is great. I enjoyed it. However, note access to bathroom is not wheelchair friendly.
google avatar

Frankmar A.

Yelp
This place has definitely changed, and not for the better. Prices are high for what you get, the quality of the food is not that good, ordered chicken saltado, and was not happy with it, the chicken is super fried greasy and just didn't taste like it use to. The Iced Tea was terrible, how hard is it to make iced tea? it tasted like tab water! so obviously they are using tab water to make the iced tea. disgusting. not going back after many years of going to this place.
google avatar

Desiree C.

Yelp
The price I don't agree with it's expensive, but the quality is well better than other places I guess.
google avatar

Queena Z.

Yelp
All the food was very delicious. The restaurant is located near the BMW dealership. The yucca fries and the soup was my favorite. The seafood in all the dishes are all very tender and good. The beef was also very tender and the sauce was good. The employees were all friendly.
google avatar

Dean J.

Yelp
My experience here was far from perfect. We ordered our favorite seafood dish and when we bit into the fried rice we were shocked to bite into chunks of shells! Had I not been more careful we could've seriously choked or lost a tooth! Very disappointed at these inflated prices that the kitchen is so careless in what is being served to the hungry customers! Ugh I'm so disappointed in this place We unfortunately will not be back.
google avatar

Cecile S.

Yelp
I love love love their seafood and shrimp chowders! They are so delicious that I drive from Claremont just for that.
google avatar

Patty M.

Yelp
Although the restaurant looks pleasant, but the food doesn't taste authentic and lacks flavor. The service is good. The parking is a little difficult. I honestly don't recommend this place.
google avatar

Guadalupe M.

Yelp
Food is amazing Service is outstanding And postre a A + plus My family brought me here today for my birthday delicious!

Yelp
Great place to eat with the fam. I brought my wife and we both ordered a mixed ceviche, anticuchos and a chupe (seafood soup) the food is extraordinary! Nice and clean place. Loved the service.
google avatar

Mayet M.

Yelp
Good service, great food. My daughter and I got the Lomo Saltado and the steamed fish. She also liked the lime juice she ordered. Plenty of street parking around lunch time on a Saturday. Would come here again if Im in the area.
google avatar

Rose M.

Yelp
I did takeout so disappointed!!! Received burnt shrimp and hardly any sauce. Too pricey for a small portion.
google avatar

Carla B.

Yelp
Went on a Sunday night so street parking wasn't a problem. Walked into the restaurant and was seated immediately. Ordered and food came out within 10-15 minutes. Food was flavorful and the sauces were good. I would recommend this place for sure. They had some issues with the lights flickering but that didn't bother me too much. Would highly recommend and the waiter was nice. -Carla B Ig: @cbanksfitness

Bella M.

Yelp
The food came very quick. I am a huge fan of peruvian food and these plates just didn't do it for me. The flavor was lacking. The fries seemed overly cooked or illy prepared and the slices of beef were tiny compared to my other experiences with this popular Peruvian plate. Still good but not great (especially not for the price). The ceviche also didn't have as much flavor, it was merely drowned in lime juice. From the looks of the outside we were also not expecting such a nice ambiance going in. The cleanliness and updated decor and attention to detail caught us by surprise! Very nice interior. More expensive than we had intended going for a quick lunch here!
google avatar

kim l.

Yelp
It was yummy and the service was on kind and very attentive! The rolls was soooo good lol and their corn drink was on spot! The vibe was cute and clean!
google avatar

Yelp
Mamita's is great authentic Peruvian spot in Glendale! This place is definitely a must-visit if you are craving Peruvian. Delicious food, great ambience, attentive servers, and great portion sizes as well. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes next time I visit LA. I couldn't finish my shrimp dish so I took it home and, enjoyed it for lunch the next day. It was still delicious. Also, I should mention that they have this green sauce that is made in-house that is out of this world. I've been dreaming about it and, can't wait to have it again! They even sell it at the restaurant which is great, so you can support them in that way as well! Definitely a worth it and underrated spot, which I highly recommend checking out if you're in Glendale.
google avatar

Ivan C.

Yelp
Ambiance and service are good. NO PARKING. FOOD terrible. I ordered a Ceviche de Mariscos they squeze the lemon so much that it was so sour and water it. I ate half and left half of the plate. It was impossible to eat. The Lomo saltado the meat was so chewed.
google avatar

Alice Y.

Yelp
How is this place still so good and popular? Went to pick up a takeout order on a weeknight and the place was PACKED! I've been coming here for probably 10+ years now and it's still great. Cost has risen of course, used to be $15 for a plate, now it's about $20. The lomo saltado is chefs kiss and the green sauce is the perfect assist. I also love getting their calamari. I got yuca for the first time and it was also super good! I've been impressed with all of their dishes and love that we have this Peruvian restaurant in Glendale! The only minus is the limited parking. There's a small small lot in the back, like 3 street parking spaces in front of the restaurant. But plenty of street parking throughout Brand if you don't mind a short walk!

Yelp
After enjoying the food here for the first time with my family a few weeks ago. I thought my girlfriend would like the food as well, and took her here last night. I had made reservations an hour in advance and requested a booth. Parking is difficult to find and can be dangerous when backing out due to it being on Brand, and a blind spot coming out. When my girlfriend and I arrived, we were immediately sat down and accommodated with a booth as I requested. The tables had been wiped down before we came, and were clean. They brought out the food time in a reasonable time. The only complaint I have was they brought "Tallarin De Camaron" and "Lomo Saltado" at the same time but not the "Camaron Al Ajo", which came out 5-10 minutes later. Other than that, the food was delicious. My girlfriend loved all three plates. I really liked her Tallarin De Camaron, it reminded me of chow main noodles. She was really fond of the Lomo Saltado, but her favorite was my Camaron Al Ajo. I thought it tasted different this time, more citrusy than spicey, or with the kick it had last time. Nonetheless, she loved all three dishes, and she enjoyed the experience. She said she would like to bring her mom, brother, and sister there. Their green chili is really spicy in my opinion, but good. I could not have more than two-three bites of it. Customer Service was good, our server was very attentive. The total for everything was $70, and in my opinion is cheap for the amount of food they give, and the quality. I highly recommend this place. The dress attire is casual and the lighting is low, so it can be perceived as a romantic setting I guess. The bathrooms are outside in the back, where they have more outdoor seating. The restrooms are only for one person each, one for a man ,and the other a women. The men's were not the cleanest.
google avatar

Sue T.

Yelp
Mama-NO!!! their chicken soup had 80% of frozen peas and carrots . Their shrimp rice was charred and salty to the core. Bread was the best part . This is not worth $120
google avatar

Barbara G.

Yelp
Been coming to this restaurant for almost 18 years. The service is friendly and helpful. The food is amazing. We had the pollo saltado and the tallarines con lomo saltado. The lomo melts in your food. Food is flavorful. A must try when in Glendale.
google avatar

Emad S.

Yelp
Best Peruvian restaurant ever. Lomo is amazing and the yucca frita is bussin and the ceviche is yuuuuuuuurrr
