"Honey honey, I'd heard about you before. I wanted to know some more..."
If you're a local, you've heard from one or two or three friends how delicious a meal here is. From my brother, I heard you have to try the New York Steak. It's on his top three best steaks in town list. After never finding time when out for a visit, we finally had our "Take a Chance on Me" moment to go... and yes.
It's definitely a classic like ABBA in the Bakersfield dining world!
Upon walking in, I felt an "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do" love the vibe of the restaurant. It was around Christmas so the bar (where we sat) was lively with holiday decorations, an NFL football game and various sized parties enjoying each other's company.
The service here is "Super Trouper". We were greeted, seated and served with smiles, attention and kindness. There's not much more a customer could desire in my opinion.
Now, the meal. We tried:
Bread & Olive Tapenade (Complimentary)
Garlic Parmesan Bread
New York Steak with Side Salad
Ribs *Special of the Night*
The bread reminded me of "Our Last Summer" in Italy. It tasted exactly like the salt-less Tuscany bread you'd be served in the countryside and complimented the Olive Tapenade wonderfully. Personally, I enjoyed that combo more than the stand alone Garlic Bread.
I expected the New York Steak to be the "Dancing Queen" of our visit but it did not have its "The Winner Takes It All" moment. Although, it was delicious the "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" more of the night was the Ribs!
The Ribs were "SOS" good. I mean, they were... fall off the bone, dosed in just the right amount of noteworthy barbecue sauce, melt in your mouth, lick your fingers, "Lay All Your Love On Me" good!
If ever asked to meet my family or friends here, I'd say... "Mamma Mia... Here I go again. My, my, how can I resist you?"... and happily go back when in town!
