A downtown hit where pastas like porcini sacchetti and osso buco ravioli headline alongside steaks and a lively bar. Spotlighted by Bakersfield Californian’s food critic for precise cooking and value, it’s a reservation-friendly choice for an evening out.

Mamma Mia made our office lunch feel like a true Italian getaway. From the moment we sat down, the staff treated us with warmth that felt more like family than service. The food was on point — pasta perfectly cooked, drinks refreshing, and dessert the kind of sweet ending you hope for. What stood out most was the service. The team wasn’t just efficient, they were naturally attentive in a way that made us feel at ease. No forced routine, no overbearing approach — just genuine hospitality. We ended up staying longer than planned simply because the atmosphere was that comfortable. Mamma Mia is one of those places you look forward to returning to, not just for the food, but for how welcome they make you feel. Highly recommend.

Google
4.2/5 overall. We got the chicken pasta, calamari, and sausage. The calamari was star of the show. Sausage was okay and the pasta was above average.

Google
What a gem! The food was incredible. We had the ribeye and porkchop. Both cooked to perfection. The ribeye had a wood fired taste and the porkchop was very tender and flavorful. Enjoyed with a bottle of Chianti and finished with a tiramisu dessert. The staff were all very nice, we never had an empty glass, you feel like everyone is family. Shout out to Ariana and Ray. Both are very pleasant and provided great service. Mario, the bartender, makes a mean Old Fashioned. An overall incredible experience. This is a five star joint 👍

Google
Great service in store and some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had. They check on you frequently enough where you don’t feel forgotten but not too often where it gets annoying. Pretty much perfectly balanced. Meat tasted high quality and cooked to maximum deliciousness. Not cheap, but worth the money.

We called a week in advance for a catered lunch. The lady on the phone refused to take our order, however provided the catering menu, she asked us to call back the day before luncheon. We called back the day before and were told they don't have any of the items on the catering menu. Now we are tying to find a new plan less than 24 hours in advance. I do not recommend attempting to use Mama Mias for catering

Google
From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for something special. If I could sum up our experience in just a few words—amazing, delicious, unforgettable, and top-tier service (shout out Marco, thank you) . But honestly, this place deserves more than just a few words because everything about our visit was simply outstanding. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, providing the kind of service that turns a great meal into a truly memorable experience. Their attentiveness, friendliness, and genuine passion for what they do were evident in every interaction. It’s rare to find a restaurant where you can feel how much they truly care about their guests, and this place delivers on that in every way. And the food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was bursting with flavor, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. You can tell the chefs put real heart into every plate, and the results speak for themselves—every bite was an experience in itself. Whether it was a classic dish done to perfection or something unique that surprised our taste buds, everything was a 10/10. The ambiance only added to the experience—warm, inviting, and the perfect setting for an incredible meal. It’s the kind of place you walk into once and immediately start planning your next visit. I genuinely can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. It’s rare to find a place that excels in every aspect, but this one does. Delicious food, impeccable service, and an overall experience that deserves way more than five stars. If you haven’t been here yet, do yourself a favor and go. It’s a 100/10, no question.

Google
Really good from the moment you walk in. Greeted by a beautiful woman with a beautiful smile. The waiter was engaged and helpful. The food was fantastic and the wine selection so good I bought and drank a bottle. Shocked an Italian Restaurant this good, in of all places, Bakersfield.

Google
Excellent Italian food! We had the rib eye steak, pork chop, minestrone soup, lobster ravioli and braised short rib ravioli. Everything was delicious and the service was great all around. Good ambiance

Yelp
Food: Absolutely delicious! As a vegetarian, I was so happy with the flavors--the sauce was deliiiishhh, we all couldn't stop talking about it. Plates were filling and came with free cold bread and pesto to start, plus we ordered one appetizer. The bill came out to about $150 for three people (no drinks), a little expensive but honestly worth it for how good everything tasted. Service: The service was great. Our server noticed I was using Google Translate on the menu and switched to Spanish, which made me feel really comfortable. They even offered to take pictures for us and surprised me with free ice cream for my birthday--such a sweet touch! Environment: The restaurant is a little small, but cozy and welcoming. Perfect for enjoying a nice meal without feeling rushed.

Yelp
This was my first visit to Mamma Mia, and this review is just my opinion... not sure how long they've been there but i've heard somewhere around 2018. Somebody please let me know if i'm wrong. Anyhow other than a few minor misses, the experience absolutely lived up to the name Mamma Mia as these were my first words when the Tomahawk Steak showed up,and the expectations I had walking in were brought to life. THE GRUB: The tomahawk steak was true to size and flavor - huge in size, incredibly tender, and cooked perfectly from edge to center, with a beautiful crust and tons of flavor in every bite. The fettuccine with Bolognese served alongside it was very tasty and well-seasoned, though the portion felt a little small compared with the impressive size and the price of the tomahawk, not a complaint just an observation, i knew I was ordering a tomahawk and I expected the price, thats not the point. The ribeye was also a highlight: well-sized, tender, and cooked exactly as ordered, making it another great choice for steak lovers. The fettuccine with butter sauce on the side was on the average side, but still tasty and comforting with a simple, buttery flavor. Service was wonderful; the waitress was very sweet, attentive, but she let us enjoy our meal coming in at just the right time and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the visit. The bread, unfortunately, was the low point of the meal; it was fairly plain, basic Wonderbread texture and the chopped olive topping that came with it (and i love olives ) was a slight disappointment, as an olive oil and balsamic vinegar dip would have been preferred but that's my opinion. The butter was served cold, which made it harder to enjoy with the bread and didn't match the otherwise excellent execution of the steaks and pastas. As my Granny(G-Unit) would say "Y'all gotta do better honey" The beer was nice and cold, and between that, the perfectly cooked steaks, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant, this first visit to Mamma Mia did not disappoint and is easy to rate as a solid 4.5-star experience but unfortunately there are no 4.5 star ratings on here, so you get a 4 star rating Mamma mia.Thank you for everything. Ultimately the bread that got you a 4...

Yelp
Poor service. We were happy that our waiter spoke Spanish. Unfortunately, it seems he was not happy to have to serve his own people. The table next to us had a birthday. They got the royal treatment. There was a birthday at our table too. We asked for a single photograph to be taken - no song no free cake - and he was unwilling to do it. After around a 20 minute wait, I had to ask a buss person from a different section to help, which she did and I truly appreciate it. One single waiter's performance affects the entire staff's tip.

Yelp
The ambience was really nice. It was a little warm inside the restaurant though. I started to sweat while I was eating dinner I always say I judge a restaurant off of the free bread that they give you ... if that were the case here I would be giving them a one because honestly, this was some of the worst bread I've ever had and they brought me two rounds of it. I was hoping the first round was just sitting out on the counter in the back, but the second round was just a stale. Now for the good part of the review : I'm not sure of the server's name, but he was very attentive and polite. I had a nice romantic dinner plan and didn't want to be bothered much and I feel like he picked up on that immediately. He made sure we were OK with whatever we needed and didn't bother us. 5/5 loved his service The food we had was amazing. I chose to get the ribeye steak with the pasta. The steak was done perfectly, and I couldn't have been happier if I made it myself. That saying a lot because I'm a food snob and I always prefer to cook my own food lol I will definitely come back off of the food and service alone. My only ask is you please serve better fresher bread

Yelp
Such a cozy, nice restaurant! Welcoming staff. Attentive waiter. Delicious wine. Loved the complimentary bread with fresh pesto sauce served with it. Lasagna was exquisite! My friend had the sea bass and loved it. I'm so happy she chose this place for dinner!

Yelp
10/10 This is our new favorite spot!!! The servers, bartenders, and Chef are absolutely amazing! All very friendly people. They treat you like family here. Love the bar area. The food is outstanding! Highly recommend the pork chop and steak. The desserts are delish!!! If you are into flavorful food, and great service... then this is for you!

Yelp
I called ahead and asked some questions about the menu offerings and then decided to make a reservation. I placed my expectations low. I now have to eat a gluten free diet, which ummm, Italian basically equals pasta. But I told myself there was salad and so, off we went on a Saturday evening. The waiter was so nice and made sure my food came without gluten. He even allowed me a substitution for my pasta without hesitation. The bar offerings were great and the wine selection was good too. The dining area is a little noisy when it's full. So keep that in mind for those who can be overstimulated. The service was great and while it wasn't fast, it was precise and predictable. Get the Saltimbocca Chicken, yum! And the burger is fantastic with hand-cut freshly made fries. The Mamma Mia salad is a winner as well.

Yelp
Very cute! I went here on a date with my partner and food was delicious. I ordered the short rib ravioli and my partner got the porcini sacchetti and both were great! We also got the calamari which was great as well, it comes with this creamy, lemony sauce on top which I really enjoyed. There is unlimited bread as well which is always appreciated. But the portions were a little on the smaller side.

Yelp
I haven't been to Mamma Mia's before, so was excited to try a place that's new to me that others love. It's definitely a classic Italian restaurant. We were seated promptly and assisted by our waiter quickly too, but service otherwise took quite a while as it was busy. We had some delicious drinks and I was really impressed by the large cocktail selection. Ordering was fairly simple for me, as the gluten free options were very limited. I went with the gluten free ravioli and a salad Our salads came only 5 minutes before our meals did, so we had a very full table. My salad was so delicious and while quite small, my gluten free dish was super good as well. I'd love to see more Gf options.

Yelp
It's the whole package--great food, drinks and service here! Can't go wrong with any of their steaks, the pork chop or any of the pasta dishes. The seasonal watermelon salad is the perfect combination of sweet and savory too. Save room for the Italian cream cake...so delicious!

Yelp
Amazing Italian restaurant in town! One of the best bruschetta we have had yet, we got seated in the party room which had a great vibe to it, and our server was super quick and very friendly. The seafood is out of this world, and great drinks as well!
google avatar

Yelp
Out of bounds good!!!! We are so lucky to have so many great restaurants in town. This is one of them. The have so much to offer and so many great choices. I absolutely love their ravioli. FYI you can choose two different type!!! The braised short rib ravioli is out of bounds!!!! Make sure you try them all. The drinks are awesome as well.

Yelp
Went in today for lunch and I hadn't been to Mamma Mia in years! The food was delicious we ordered the pasta purses for an appetizer and they were amazing our waiter made great recommendations and was efficient. The salmon was delicious, was beautifully caramelized. The Sofia salad was added to the side of my meatball sandwich and it was light and refreshing perfect for a hot sunny day. I would say that the complimentary bread was good initially but if you don't eat it right away it turns hard as a rock. But overall a good dining experience and will definitely be back.

Yelp
Man oh man! Although the food was delicious the comfort was not there! We came in as a party of 6 and sat in a table what seemed like for 4. It was a packed house so I understand. It was very hot and the service did the best they could with having so many parties. Lastly the price was on the higher side which again makes sense based on the quality, I would probably only come for a special special occasion and if invited.
google avatar

Yelp
We got there a little bit early but they were kind enough to let us come in and have a drink at the bar before they opened. We ordered some wine and bruschetta and then garlic butter, penne pasta and then a cream cake with coffee. Everything was delicious and the service was exquisite. We definitely felt like they cared that we were there. We recommend Mamma Mia and will return.

Morgen G.

Yelp
Do NOT skip out on this gem! For the first time since food prices have been skyrocketing, we felt like we actually got what we paid for. Every bite had more flavor. I was taught the law of diminishing returns... The food is supposed to have less flavor the more you eat... Not here! Oh. My. Word. The food was so good. The wait staff was all very kind and hardworking. The experience was, overall, something we'd love to have again and again.

Yelp
Bakersfield does not have a shortage of good, notable, delicious Italian food. Mamma Mia is no exception! Ambiance was delightful, service was impeccable, and food was scrumptious. Can't wait to come back for dinner!

Yelp
The issue is the prices and extra fees** The food is good and so is the service. I am all about the quality of food and service, but to charge $18 just to add chicken to a salad is outrageous. I was here during lunch. I've been to Mama Mia's many many times and they are becoming too expensive. On a different occasion I was there for a birthday party. I was charged a cake service fee which was a first. It was either $20-$30 fee. I would not cry over $5-$10. I believe Mama Mia has forgotten that they reside in Bakersfield not Las Vegas, Miami, etc. we may have a few boogie people living here, but come on. The charge you see for $85 was for a special they had (surf & turf) about 10oz sirloin mignon accompanied by two shrimps and a scallop. The other $85 charge was for a Trio special which included a sea bass fish, a scallop, and two shrimp. Both dishes came with a side of either pasta or salad. We only came here for lunch because Luigi's was closed for lunch on that day. If you're able just go to Luigi's instead.

Yelp
We were driving up from the south and reached the restaurant around 8:30. Although it was close to closing time at 9--and the kitchen had already shut down--the staff was kind enough to still take our order. The food was fantastic, with portions generous enough for two people. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, with dim lighting that made the experience even more enjoyable.

Yelp
It was our first time in this Italian restaurant. Went here the day after Valentine's day for a sponsored dinner and it was packed. At first I thought it was just the bar at front but they have a huge dining area at the back. Anyway, I loved what we ordered and was worth the wait. We had rib eye with pasta, salmon with veggies, and diff. appetizers and desserts. Others got diff. steaks, salad, alcoholic drinks. The food was really good- the taste was perfect and was cooked to perfection! The only thing is the desserts, i think it was pricey- 1 small scoop of gelato for 9 dollars (though pistachio flavor was good), tiramisu was ok I just dont know the price. But I think it's better to try the other desserts they have like the lemon cake due to its portion and presentation. Our male server was really nice and patient. We were a big group and he was always on top of things to make sure we had everything we need. I recommend this place!
google avatar

Sandy L.

Yelp
The food was good. The service was above and beyond our server; I believe his nam was Omar was fantastic. I had a Cadillac margarita and the watermelon chicken salad. My friends had shrimp, one had a steak, and another had pasta, I would say the food is average and the drinks were average as well. I think I expected a little more from the food. Parking is a little tight, so good luck getting a good spot if not you'll be walking. We were a party of nine, and the check came out to $697, so I would say it's a little on the pricier side. Unfortunately, I was too full to think about dessert

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants in bakersfield. It is always delicious, the service is wonderful, everything is consistent and it's an overall great dining experience. Highly suggest starting with the Sacchettoni and ordering whatever fish special they have.

Yelp
I have been driving past this place many times, looks like an unassuming ma and pa shop. Boy was I wrong. This is a beautiful, meticulously decorated upscale place. The staff are very well trained, well dressed, and know the menu well. The appetizer and wine was great. I ordered lobster ravioli it was made to perfection. My nephew loved his New York steak. I have to say there is no better Italian restaurant in town. Looking forward to go back.

Yelp
We finally decided to try Mamma Mia and man... it was totally worth it! So many Elite Yelpers all agreed that this place was definitely a great restaurant and I knew I had to see for myself. We went for our company Christmas dinner 2 Christmases ago. After this visit, I have been wanting to go back but I always forget about it. Food is on the pricier side, so if you want to splurge a little then come check this place out. Food was amazing, I would not mind spending here because the food is close to perfection. We even made sure to get dessert because we had such a great experience and even the dessert was the icing of the night. The restaurant is a decent size so if you have a big party I think they can accommodate. Dress code is casual. My only gripe is that the portions of the food is not that big considering how pricey they are. Other than that, everything is delicious and this is a perfect spot for date night.

Yelp
First time here and the staff were very welcoming and friendly! The food was delicious! Such a great ambience. I'm not local but this would def be a place to visit when visiting.

Yelp
For starts, I am biased here, because this I hands down my favorite fine dining restaurant in Bakersfield. I've been stopping in for a meal since 2019 and wish I had found the place sooner. Setting that bias aside, I've never had a bad meal here. Moreover, every meal I've had has been great! Nelson and his staff are grade A class and the food is classy Italian. You cannot go wrong with a filet mignon, but I would definitely recommend trying whatever the catch of the day is (the sea bass is one of my favorites). Whether it's for a quick lunch sit down or a romantic dinner for two, Mamma Mia's should be one of your first choices to treat yourself.

Yelp
Very cute date night spot if you're into Italian food. Parking is easy, looks very private and quiet especially if you seat in the bar section. The food however objectively isn't very great compared to other places in town. My party and I agreed that it wasn't very flavorful and just lacked a certain "umph". Fairly hungry after our meal and the cost didn't justify. Service was great, they were very attentive and their hosts were quite friendly.

Yelp
This restaurant is in Downtown Bakersfield and our party was blown away by the excellent food. It was a complete surprise to find this place. We were visiting Bakersfield for my husband's job and were looking for a great Italian restaurant. This place had will great reviews so we weren't surprised there was a 40 minute wait on a Saturday night. We hunkered down and we were not disappointed. While waiting, every group who left the restaurant made positive comments on how great the food was. We did the same! My mouth is watering right now as I am writing this post. Go... you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Came out for Friday night dinner. We got there around 7pm. Didn't have reservations but for just two of us we were seated very quickly. The service here is great. Even though it was busy our waiter was very attentive. They had a new appetizer which he recommended the hurrays with garlic bread and fruit wrapped in prosciutto was delicious. Our main dishes the short rib ravioli and the Porcini sacchetti were very tasty. We each got dessert the lemon cake and tiramisu. The tiramisu was delicious lady fingers were a bit over soaked but lovely coffee flavor, the lemon cake was alright, good lemon flavor but the cake itself was a little gummy. The one drawback were the drinks. The aperol spritz was ok and the coffee could have been better. However, overall great dinner, great service and will be coming back again.

Yelp
"Honey honey, I'd heard about you before. I wanted to know some more..." If you're a local, you've heard from one or two or three friends how delicious a meal here is. From my brother, I heard you have to try the New York Steak. It's on his top three best steaks in town list. After never finding time when out for a visit, we finally had our "Take a Chance on Me" moment to go... and yes. It's definitely a classic like ABBA in the Bakersfield dining world! Upon walking in, I felt an "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do" love the vibe of the restaurant. It was around Christmas so the bar (where we sat) was lively with holiday decorations, an NFL football game and various sized parties enjoying each other's company. The service here is "Super Trouper". We were greeted, seated and served with smiles, attention and kindness. There's not much more a customer could desire in my opinion. Now, the meal. We tried: Bread & Olive Tapenade (Complimentary) Garlic Parmesan Bread New York Steak with Side Salad Ribs *Special of the Night* The bread reminded me of "Our Last Summer" in Italy. It tasted exactly like the salt-less Tuscany bread you'd be served in the countryside and complimented the Olive Tapenade wonderfully. Personally, I enjoyed that combo more than the stand alone Garlic Bread. I expected the New York Steak to be the "Dancing Queen" of our visit but it did not have its "The Winner Takes It All" moment. Although, it was delicious the "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" more of the night was the Ribs! The Ribs were "SOS" good. I mean, they were... fall off the bone, dosed in just the right amount of noteworthy barbecue sauce, melt in your mouth, lick your fingers, "Lay All Your Love On Me" good! If ever asked to meet my family or friends here, I'd say... "Mamma Mia... Here I go again. My, my, how can I resist you?"... and happily go back when in town!

Yelp
I did something I don't like doing and that's order take out from a really nice restaurant Everything was solid. Food stayed hot and was hot when I arrived home. Everything was packaged nicely and with care. Taste was amazing and what I'd expected if I were in the restaurant. The bonus was I was able to pick up the pork chop I order with my hands and enjoy it like a barbarian in the comforts of my home with no one to judge me.

Yelp
The service was great. My Server, Luis was such a nice person and he seems to really enjoy his job. That being said, my experience at Mamma Mia Restaurant was good, but not great. The Pasta with butter garlic sauce was to die for. I ate it then sopped up the butter with my bread. I could have made a whole meal of just the pasta and bread. My steak was cooked to perfection. I asked for an extra rare steak and that is exactly what I got. The problem I had was that the steak was extremely tough. I have had beef jerky that was more tender. There was a world of flavor at Mamma Mia's, but my jaw still aches from the chewing. Do I recommend Mamma Mia's, YES. Will I go there again, YES. I just will not order the steak. Be prepared to pay for your meal. They are expensive. Try to get Luis as your server if you go. He is great.

Yelp
We had a reservation for 11 people at 6pm. Somehow, that reservation got lost. They got us to a table within 10 minutes of our reservation time. It was super busy. Everyone worked their asses off. The service was better than I would have expected for such a busy night. The food was excellent, as always. Service was amazing for such a busy night!

Yelp
Great food and service in a nice atmosphere and appreciated being able to converse easily without too much noise. There was a nice selection on the menu for both lunch and dinner. The calamari appetizer was amazing and I am not usually a fan of calamari.

Karen U.

Yelp
Great food! But for the price shock of the daily special, this was a great meal. Unless you want sticker shock you better ask your waitperson the prices before ordering. Tonight's special was grilled halibut at an eye popping price of $65. The wait staff should really say the prices when announcing the specials. Also FWIW the bread seemed a day old. The olive tapenade that came with the bread was delicious. The bread, not so much. A friend was treating us but the total was too much to expect her to pay so we all chipped in. Lesson learned; always ask prices even if it feels awkward.

The Kings D.

Yelp
Excellent evening with hubby. Didn't know what to expect but pleasantly surprised! The bill was a little on the pricey side because I had the special (Halibut $65) but would have made another selection had I known. Overall great meal and service was great!

Yelp
On 9/2/2025, sixteenth members of our family came to Mamma Mia for a surprise birthday dinner for our mother's 85th birthday. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, the staff were friendly and attentive. The waiter and the serving staff were amazing. They were outgoing and friendly and very knowledgeable of the food. Speaking of the food, it is delicious! The extra preparation and quality ingredients are highly noticeable with each bite. Did I say Butterfinger Pie and Tiramisu? What a great experience and one we won't soon forget. Mamma Mia is definitely on our lists of favorite restaurants.

Yelp
This place is hands down the best Italian place in town! Food is so flavorful and noodles cooked to perfection. I did have an over cooked steak once but the pasta is spot on everytime. I recommend the spaghetti with the Italian sausage in it. Food-5 Service-3.5 Value-5 Portions-4

Yelp
The food is always so tasteful and the service is always great! Filet mí on and salmon crusted with pecans and walnuts. Delicious!!

Yelp
We've been here twice this year. The first visit was phenomenal, as service was prompt, the ambiance was warm and charming, and the pasta was on point. The last visit, not so much. Service was still courteous but lagging, and both of our pasta dishes were somewhat bland and uninspiring. It definitely didn't feel as special as the 1st time we went. We will return at a later date to see how things go because at the moment, we are looking for a charming and delicious "go-to" Italian spot for when the mood strikes.

Yelp
It's been over five years since we first visited Mama Mia! Not long after dining here I learned I have Celiac disease, and the news changed our dining habits. I've learned a lot since then and discovered that Italian restaurants are one of the few places which consistently serve gluten free entrees. So, today we decided to stop in Mama Mia! for lunch. The dining room used to open from Chester Ave, but they have since changed the layout to the entrance off 18th Street. We were greeted right a way and seated in a small table near a window, right next to the bar. Our waiter was very friendly and professional. After speaking with the waiter I learned the only gluten free pasta they serve is a vegetarian ravioli, with the choice of four sauces. I chose the bolognese sauce. My husband selected the braised short rib ravioli - again. We also ordered the Caprese salad. The salad arrived first. I immediately noticed the sad looking tomatoes. They were barely red and rather flavorless, but the rest of salad was delicious, (and I was hungry) so we gobbled it up. Next came the ravioli, and they smelled wonderful! The presentation was also nice. No issues with under cooked pasta this time. Everything was wonderful! We were both very pleased. Over all we were happy to have returned to Mama Mia! and look forward to another visit soon.

Yelp
Great food, the ambience was perfect for date night, and the service was great. The spaghetti barese was delicious.

Yelp
Had such a wonderful dinner! The halibut was cooked to perfection. Not only was the food exceptional. This place has such a great vibe, and the service was top-notch. Tony behind the bar is a master at his craft. Mamma Mia's a hidden gem in downtown Bakersfield.

Yelp
This place just seems to get better and better! My experience at Mamma Mia has always been 5/5! I just recently had an early birthday dinner with some friends, a party of 9 to be exact, and everyone loved the food and service! Every dish I've ever had here has been amazing. One of my favorites is the Porcini Sacchetti! Sooooo good if you want a meatless option. I think next time I need to try the ravioli for sure as I've heard amazing things! If you want outstanding service and food this is the place! One of my favorites.

Yelp
The place is understated elegant but a little crowded feeling. Waiter was nice but a bit inattentive. The sangria was delicious, food was good but lacked the "extra". Wouldn't mind eating here again but wouldn't be first pick.

Yelp
Business dinner, seating of 4, with no reservation and service for drinks, appetizers and meals, truly exceptional. Food was very much authentic American Italian dishes with all of us trying something different, superb in all. If you are in Bakersfield, stop in at Mamma Mia's restaurant, downtown area. You will enjoy!

Yelp
Mamma Mia has been on my radar for quite some time, and I finally had the opportunity to try it out and I have to say it's phenomenal. It's definitely in my top 3 Italian restaurants in town. The service and food was excellent, I love the vibe and the ambiance it's like being somewhere else besides Bakersfield if that makes sense. Perfect place for a date night, the wifey loved it as well. The Ribeye steak was amazing really tender, finished with a hint of garlic butter and cooked to perfection. Served with spaghetti and garlic white sauce I opted for penne and meat sauce instead and it was delicious. My wife had the short rib ravioli tossed in parmesan and Asiago finished with garlic butter, it was delicious.I usually don't like ravioli's but Mamma Mia made me a fan they were that good. Overall great experience and I'm definitely excited to go back and try something else on the menu.
