My first time visiting Mamo and it hopefully will not be my last. Firstly impeccable service in a beautiful room overlooking Howth harbour. The food…. Oh goodness the food. Snacks of cod chips, pressed confit potato chips with three dots of the most indescribable Taramasalata, washed down with a fresh Manzanilla for me and rose fizz for the rest of us. Special.
The best steak tartare I have ever had with I think anchovy and an amazing goat curd with zingy acidity and creaminess that ties it all together. Special of Monkfish on the bone… Jesus, cooked to perfection with mussels and cockles and a light balanced sauce. The Duck special was equally delicious. Stunning food, amazing hosts and an amazing evening. This is Michelin star cooking have no doubt. Such a treat. Wine list is interesting and has plenty to keep you engaged. Excellent Italian white for us but lots of cool stuff from Spain, France and Eastern Europe too. The amazing Suertes del Marques Trenzado was on the menu but sadly sold out. The wine buyers know their stuff.
