"In 2018, Bonhorst turned that passion into Man vs. Fries, a Bay Area pop-up serving battered and seasoned fries topped with carne asada or stuffed in burritos. This fall, Man vs. Fries landed in cities along the West Coast via Reef Kitchens, a ghost kitchen company that houses several delivery-only food businesses in a single 'vessel' — basically, a large food cart. One of those cities was Portland, and Bonhorst isn’t done yet; after opening Man vs. Fries’ first Portland location November 12, he’ll open another in a matter of days. The flagship dish at Man vs. Fries starts with a choice of fries — seasoned straight or curly — followed by a choice of toppings. Bonhorst offers a choice of carne asada or pollo asada, with a foundation of cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and 'secret sauce.' 'NorCal' style sticks to those toppings, while the 'SoCal' style also includes grilled onions, cilantro, and jalapeños. Man vs. Fries has grown into a larger operation, however, with chicken-bacon-ranch fries, the Crunchwrap-adjacent 'Cali Crunch' stuffed with Flamin’ Hot Doritos or Cheetos, and other hype-beast snacks, desserts, and burritos." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

I had high hopes for this place. The cheese was not warm and very gritty. Even after warming it up a little, I still could not handle the gritty texture. My burrito had little to no fries in it. I enjoy spicy food but my partner DOES NOT. Heads up, the chicken is spicy, just in case you're not into spicy food. My tortilla was a little warm but all the meat inside was cold. If you enjoy good customer service, don't come here, they did not say a word to my partner or the 4 Uber eats drivers that were picking up food, even after everyone said hi. Maybe one of the other locations would provide a better experience?

This was what a $22 “hella-dilla” came looking like today. Typically it also includes fries in the “quesadilla” but it looks like Man vs. Fries forgot the fries. 2/5 stars, time to just name yourself “Man” as fries no longer exist apparently.

This place was great! My husband and I ordered a late dinner and wanted to try something new, so we got the NorCal Asada Fries and the Cowgirl Burrito- the portion sizes are absolutely MASSIVE. Well worth the money. My burrito required two hands and I could only finish half. My husband's asada fries came in a huge takeout box filled to the brim, and he ate every single bite. Fair warning, the cowgirl burrito is pretty messy due to the amount of bbq sauce. Absolutely delicious, we will 100% order from here again.

Door dash order: Order was completely wrong. Recieved 2 steak asada fries when we ordered a pollo asado fries and a Cali Crunch. Both fries were over cooked, hard, and dry: totally inedible. Ordered several extras that were not delivered. Just a waste of time and money, I do not recommend. I'd try in person, but I'll never dash this food again. The bag was sealed, so I don't assume it was tampered with by the dasher. But the 6$ refund offered by door dash didn't even cover the dasher tip. What a waste.

For a place I believe only exists in apps and delivery options, this restaurant that said "what if we ghost kitchen Taco Bell but make it more Amurrican" has options... some of which are in the neighborhood of delicious, even, if youre willing to put aside expectations set by photos or the literal description of what you ordered. The issue is that out of several delivery orders, not one has been completely correct, always missing a side, or in the case of the last order, giving 3 instead of 4 desert cookies. When said order was $8, 3 of 4 is a big deal. Overall, can it be delicious? Yes. In the way I'd hope if a Taco Bell opened in Lake Oswego would be. Do I believe it exists physically outside of a commissary or pipe dream? No.

I placed a pickup order a few nights ago and must I say the young lady by the name of Grace, was very kind with helping me place my online order since it was my first time trying this place I do recommend everyone giving it a try, it looked so delicious but tasted even better. I was beyond satisfied with all of my food and I give it 5 stars and will be going back soon!! Ps if you do place a pickup order ask for the young lady that made my food you won’t regret it

Just tried this out! I'm raving... ordered 2 different burritos they were both gigantic, tasty and still hot from an uber delivery, I could only eat half and then had 2 of there deep fried battered oreos with chocolate sauce. BOMB... I HAVE A NEW PLACE TO LOVE. THANK YOU STAFF SHELLEY

No phone, must order online and the price is excessive. I didn't order because I had cash and the cheapest thing on the menu was an $18 burrito. Reviews say the portion is huge but I will never know
