29 Best Restaurants in Dubai, From Kebab Counters to Late-Night Lounges | Condé Nast Traveler

"Tucked in an unassuming Jumeirah building with a dim, sleek bar and open kitchen, I found Manāo’s 11-course tasting menu to be a masterclass in Thai-inspired fine dining shaped by chef Abhiraj Khatwani’s international training. The menu avoids familiar Thai staples and instead explores regional Thai ingredients—tamarind in kombucha-heavy drinks, hand-milled coconut in curries—and features highlights like charred cabbage stuffed with minced shrimp, Brittany oysters with orange chili and fried shallots, and coconut-smoked short ribs topped with kaffir lime." - Claudia de Brito, Sophie Prideaux

"Helmed by Abhiraj Khatwani in conjuction with Mohamad Orfali, this Thai restaurant is the Dubai-born chef’s ode to the cuisine closest to his heart. The place, meaning ‘lime’ in Thai, serves an 11-course tasting menu comprised of Thai classics with a twist. The dishes stay true to their roots, offering vibrant, fresh, highly authentic mouth-watering Thai flavours with wonderful balance to the spicing. The experience is perfectly paired with five non-alcoholic drinks, created and made in-house. Expect engaging, smooth service with a lively soundtrack throughout." - Michelin Inspector

You step into any Michelin-starred restaurant with sky-high expectations. And Manao still manages to surpass them. While the food is of course the star, the effortlessness with which the staff manages to carry off the experience makes it extra special. The chef coming out to explain the dishes and checking in definitely makes it all feel all the more intimate.

Had the pleasure of visiting Manāo during the Gaggan x Orfali bros pop-up, what an experience!!! The menu was creative, flavourful and thought-provoking - really pushed the boundaries of imagination without taking away from the flavours. Favourite bites were the king crab khanim krok, allepo street bun (classic), yoghurt explosion/aloo ghobi cookie, kharrof roti and the banoffee dessert! The non-alcoholic pairings were also a revelation and complimented the food so well. The chefs were present and extremely personable throughout the night, the whole team was on fire and the energy was electric in the restaurant. Feel very grateful to have been able to experience it. P.s. thank you to the reservation team for making some booking concessions, it was beyond generous and it made us feel so special.

Such a unique and amazing experience. This is a highly recommended place and a must try. The dishes taste and look absolutely amazing. The service is excellent and each course is very well explained. The price is very reasonable for the experience, the food and for 1 star Michelin restaurant. We will definitely be back.

I already had great experiences at Orfali Bros, we always go there, especially on my partner's birthday, this time it was my birthday, and i got to meet the talented young chef Abhiraj. The set menu is more than enough, i came thinking we won't be full, but by the 9th dish, i was starting to get full. The experience was a roller-coaster of flavors, textures and palets foodgasms. The staff are knowledgeable and super friendly. The only unfortunate comment that was not the restaurant's fault, is the air conditioning, i have to let you know, as it made my experience a bit less than wanted, when the air is warm, i can't breathe, i found myslef having to take a walk outside the restaurant for cooler air. It's a structural issue that the Mall is responsible for, try going during the cool months, i was honestly using wet napkins on my neck to cool myslef down (your experience might vary). Besides that, a definitely must try, great job by everyone behind this experience.

Out of all the many restaurants that I’ve been to in Dubai, few blew my mind out like Manāo did!! It’s a Thai restaurant like you never seen before. Deserves the Michelin star and wouldn’t be surprised if it got more. The food served was amazing next to a list of their own recommendations of non-alcoholic drinks that subtly match each bite you are given. The waiters know the dishes inside out and the owner was such a nice guy!! Brilliant but also down to earth and came over and said hello and asked about my experience.

From the moment I walked in until the very last goodbye my experience at Manāo was nothing short of exceptional. The ambience is simply beautiful elegant yet warm creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal. The staff were incredibly friendly attentive and professional striking the right balance between making you feel at home and delivering world class service. What impressed me the most was the way the food was presented each dish felt like a piece of art showcasing both creativity and passion. Beyond presentation the flavors were extraordinary leaving me with the feeling that every detail had been carefully thought through. It’s rare to find a place where service atmosphere and cuisine all come together so flawlessly but Manāo truly achieves that. I left feeling not only satisfied but also inspired by the overall experience. Highly recommended I will definitely be coming back!

I usually never write reviews (this is my first one) but this restaurant definitely deserves it. The creativity of the dishes and the flavors are just insane. Really glad we spent the evening there and tried their 12 pieces tasting menu with the fermented drink pairing. Very attentive synchronised service. Would come here again and again. If there was one negative point is that the music could be tuned down 10% or make sure the playlist all has the same volume level. Also having to go to the mall toilet takes you out of the beautiful atmosphere they created for a bit. But that didn’t take away from the experience.

Thai cuisine is famous for spice and my doctor is famous for saying ‘don’t you dare’ 😅. Yet here I was in Dubai, finishing a full Thai-inspired set menu—duck mochi, lobster custard, king crab curry—without leaving a drop. The team adjusted it perfectly, and the flavors were still explosive. A must-visit ✅ Officially on Karim’s List 🧡
