Google
More than expected and one of the glimmers of hope for Manchester, an otherwise gritty town that can't seem to find its best self. Interesting historical facts and artifacts make for an hour of "something decent to do in downtown Manchester".

Google
Cute little museum about Manchester and their historic textile mills. The staff was super nice and helpful. The only real complaint I have is the complete lack of addressing where their cotton came from aside from a few souvenir "Dixie land" cotton boxes or things that paint them in a positive light. As someone from Louisiana, it just feels weird that they gloss over exactly how much the town/mills benefited from southern cotton and slavery.

Google
Fantastic little museum excellent coverage of the (perhaps little known) history of Manchester as well as history of manufacturing & immigration in the USA. Fun & interesting tidbits about inventors & inventions eg square based paper bag folding machine by a young woman!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Google
A wonderful trip through Manchester history. I loved the video about the results of the Amoskeag company bankruptcy during the great depression. It comes at a time you are ready to sit for a rest. Bring earbuds for you phone to get the full effect without having to read everything yourself.

Google
The Millyard Museum provides a historical insight of the development of Manchester, from its earliest settlers up to modern times. Many displays highlight the growth of the various types of manufacturing introduced to Manchester over the years, as well as the people who contributed to the progress. The many exhibits are well documented and well displayed. Well worth the visit..

I have been here many times over the years, mostly for field trips while in school. However, it was a great date! Highly fun and interesting for most ages! Makes you feel excited and proud to live in a place that’s always growing and changing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back in the future.

Google
Manchester's old mill museum. It's part of the first floor of a Mill 3 which was built in 18th century. I was visiting first time, started without having any background of this place but within first 10 minutes the information provided in the museum took my attention and I started getting interested. When I cross 8th or 10th display I was so impressed with the way the mill was constructed and operated in 17th and 18th century. It's really mesmerizing facts. All American kids has to visit this place to understand the hard work gone behind constructing today's America. The steam fire engine and yester year House, photos , market area . Time well spent. Need at least 2 to 3 hours to go through all the displays. If you are in a hurry then an hour is ok. 8$ entry fee for adults. 4$ for kids 12-18 yrs. Worth it! Visit to admire yester years engineering and technology achievements. Great!

Yelp
THis little gem is nestled in the millyard in one of the former mill buildings. The staff here are very knowledgeable and excited to share with you all the stories and perspectives they have in order to tie the display together. The history of Manchester dates back to 9000 BCE and continues to evolve today. Once the Industrial capital of the world, this museum captures to story of Manchester in a fascinating and informative way.

Yelp
I wish I could give it a "0." This place has extremely old exhibits-not worth the entrance fee. Sorry.

Yelp
Small museum that gives the complete history of the downtown Manchester area (the Millyard) and by extension the rise, fall, and rebirth of New England industrial cities. The location is in the basement of one of the former mill factories. I really enjoyed information about how the river intertwined with the lives of local residents. A favorite would be the coal boiler fire engine. The displays are well laid out and informative but they are not interactive and word intensive.

Yelp
Really good enjoyed this place. Very helpful and knowledgeable women at front desk. Excellent, informative displays and interesting relics. It's especially effective because the space itself is part of the history. The museum really brings the mill and the city's history to life. We spent about 90 minutes and unfortunately didn't quite get thru, because it was closing time.

Yelp
Small, but filled with ton's of information of Manchester's yesteryear. I wouldn't recommend this for young kids as there's not many items to keep kids interested. I definitely found it to be an interesting few hours. What an exceptional job of telling the stories of the city and it's culture, especially in terms of the textile industry and how it created the city itself. They also have a small gift shop filled with many items including historical books on the city and state. It was tricky to find as everything directs you to the SEE science center and dinosaur exhibit on another floor. You walk in on floor 2. The millyard museum is downstairs on the 1st floor. It's a great place for anyone looking to learn more about the history of the city or New England mills in general.

Yelp
Parking is free, but you need to make sure that you are not parked on any of the reserved spots. When you enter the building from the parking lot side, it is floor 2. You need to take an elevator to go downstairs where the museum is located. Cost is $8. It starts from the early beginnings of Manchester to modern times. It goes into detail the rise of the mills and the careful planning on the part of the owners to have people loyal to the company. It also has information and artifacts in the hallway before you enter the museum. Bathrooms are clean and are located outside near the elevators.

Yelp
It is small, but FILLED with historical information about Manchester. I was in there for about one and a half hours! The desk clerk was a student, and she was nice and helpful. She even gave me a suggestion for a place to have lunch in on my way out.

Sally R.

Yelp
Small museum but very well done. Need to improve the exterior signage a bit particularly because the museum is tucked in a much larger building. We are history buffs so we found it quite interesting.

Yelp
Brought a 8 and 5 year old. They had a blast! Not boring for adults either. Plenty to do, keeping everyone entertained for 3+ hours.
