"Former disc jockey turned restaurateur Jorge Wong serves up some of the SGV’s strongest Peruvian fare. Named after Peru’s famous beach, Mancora’s naturally-lit dining room is welcoming at all hours. The tallarines verdes con bistec, Peruvian pesto spaghetti topped with grilled steak, hits the spot for lunch or dinner." - Cathy Chaplin

Ordered the Tallarin Verde con Bistec and the Jalea Mixta. The Tallarin Verde con Bistec is Peruvian pesto linguine topped with tender grilled milanesa cut. The meat was a bit chewy but flavorful and juicy. Paired with the vibrant pasta in thick pesto sauce, this was a delightful pick. The Jalea Mixta is a combination of crispy seafood and fish served with fried yucas, golden potatoes, sarza criotta, and tartar sauce. This is a plentiful dish of fried food. The mussels were nice and easy to take apart. The fried fish and squid rings were nicely done, not too overbattered and great with tartar sauce. To avoid the bloated feeling from the fried food, the purple onion salsa (salza criolla) helped to balance the flavors out. Location has its own parking lot which is convenient in downtown Alhambra. Ambiance is really nice with latin songs playing in the background. There is the option of indoor and outdoor tented seating and business picks up during the dinner rush.

The dishes were so tasty and rich. Their house made sangrias were made just right. Make sure to get the yucca for your appetizer with some ceviche for your table to share. Felt like they cooked their food with love!

Google
Delightfully surprised. I ordered chupe de camarones and my father got his default tallarines saltado de pollo. The chupe was good and it wasn’t too rich or milky/creamy tasting. It is a large portion and could be enough for two. Tallarin saltado is dad approved. He finished it. It had more flavors to it than the smokey wok and I appreciated that. It’s my least favorite dish too and I liked it. I’m also surprised with the Chifa menu. You never see those dishes at Peruvian restaurants except for the typical arroz chaufa . The chicha really good. It’s not so sweet or excessively concentrated. Excited to try other dishes

Google
Love that there is a solid Peruvian restaurant tucked away in Alhambra on Main between Atlantic and Garfield. The portions are a decent size and I got the spaghetti with chicken which I would order again. It has a tomato base sauce but it's not Italian just to confirm. My friend really enjoyed the appetizer plate that had roasted chicken, tomatoes and beef heart that he enjoyed. We also got the fried rice but that was a little dry and bland. Just a heads up, you can get most dishes with either beef chicken or shrimp despite not being mentioned on the menu.

Stopped by today to celebrate my nieces birthday as this is one of her favorite restaurants. Personally this was my first visit and I enjoyed it. The food was good and the service was excellent. There was only one person working the tables (it is a small restaurant) and he did a great job making sure we were taken care of. I can't recall all the dishes that everyone in my party ordered but I had the tallarines verdes con bistec which are green noodles with a Peruvian pesto sauce and a steak. My wife ordered the lomo saltado which is stir fry marinated strips of beef steak with onions, tomatoes, french fries and a side of white rice. For drinks the table ordered Inca Cola. I'll have to come back try some more dishes.

Google
Superb Peruvian food at Pasadena. Never seen one as good since I left Florida. Also has its own parking lot. Also, portion is very generous even more than what it appeared on menu photo. Another plus is it is right next to 85 C bakery and so you can grab some desserts as well. Would definitely visit again and please myself with fully filled belly.

Google
Very good and flavorful food. Service could have been better. It was just okay. But still giving good ratings as food was well liked by the entire group.

Yelp
Ordered Lomo Saltado to go ~$25 after tax. Insane. Roughly about 8 ounces of beef, maybe less, hard to tell with all the fries mixed in, just remember saying to myself constantly I don't think this is worth. Food tastes great. Service is great. Just pricing is insane for what it is. It was ~12:30 on a Wednesday, completely empty. Hope this place survives, only Peruvian food of its kind in the 626 unless you drive out to West Covina.

Yelp
I recently dined at Mancora Restaurant in Alhambra, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Located conveniently in the heart of Alhambra, this cozy spot offers a delightful taste of authentic Peruvian cuisine. The ambiance at Mancora is warm and inviting, with tasteful decor that reflects the rich culture of Peru. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every guest feels welcome and well taken care of. The menu is diverse, featuring a wide array of traditional Peruvian dishes. I started with their famous ceviche, which was fresh, zesty, and bursting with flavor. The fish was perfectly marinated, and the combination of lime, cilantro, and spices was simply divine. For the main course, I opted for the lomo saltado, a classic Peruvian stir-fry with tender strips of beef, onions, tomatoes, and fries, all served over a bed of rice. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the portion size was generous. It was clear that the ingredients were fresh and of high quality. Another highlight was the aji de gallina, a creamy chicken dish with a delightful blend of spices and a hint of heat. It was comfort food at its finest, and I could see why it's a favorite among regulars. To complement the meal, I tried a traditional Pisco Sour, which was expertly crafted and refreshing. The drink menu also offers a variety of other cocktails and beverages that pair well with the food. Dessert was a treat, with the alfajores (delicate cookies filled with dulce de leche) being the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. Overall, Mancora Restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit spot for anyone in Alhambra. Whether you're a fan of Peruvian cuisine or looking to try something new, Mancora is sure to impress. I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning soon.

Yelp
Overall, I would give this place a 3.5/5 stars. The service was very good (5/5). Staff were friendly, answered our questions and ensured our needs were met. The music they were playing inside was very loud. The food is where this place falls short unfortunately. 1. Chicha Morada (5/5) A Peruvian drink made with purple corn, fresh fruits, cinnamon and lime. It has the looks of a hibiscus tea, but the taste of lightly sweetened fruit with cinnamon spice. I really like this drink and gulped it down. 2. Papa a la Huancaina (2.5/5) Huancaina sauce (made from queso fresco (fresh cheese), aji amarillo (yellow chili pepper), garlic, oil, and evaporated milk) -- their version is not spicy at all + cornish, bacon chips, cocktail potato. The name of the dish sounded better than it actually tasted. There were no bacon chips, so we were fouled. It was just sliced boiled potatoes that were put back in the fridge to cool, topped with the Huancaina sauce. Not a lot of flavor other than the taste of boiled potato. It tasted better dipping it in the guacamole/green sauce. 3. Yuquitas Fritas con Salsa Huancaina (5/5) Crispy yuca sticks with a classic huancaina sauce. This was our favorite. It was very crispy and had a nice crunch. Wish they gave more pieces per order. 4. Lomo Saltado (1/5) Sliced filet mignon wok sauteed with red onions, tomatoes, aji amarillo, soy sauce and cilantro. Served with french fries and seasoned white rice. The filet mignon taste old and had a bad stench with each bite. The fries that came with it was cooked in poor quality oil. Not sure if we just received a bad batch of filet mignon, but we will not be ordering this again. 5. Tallarines Verdes con Bistec (2/5) Peruvian pesto spaghetti topped with tender grilled milanesa cut. Also, combine peruvian pesto spaghetti with grilled chicken breast. Contains nuts. Again, the quality of the milanesa (steak) cut was of poor quality. The noodles that came with it seemed undercooked. Their pesto sauce that coated the noodle was too creamy and lacked the fragrant basil + permissiano reggiano cheese. I make better pesto sauce than this 6. Fried Wantan (3/5) Chicken fried wonton/dumpling with tamarind sauce. Essentially eating fried dumpling skin with a skimp amount of chicken filling. 7. Chaufa Aeropuerto (4.5/5) Peruvian fried rice with small amounts of noodles with Char siu (BBQ pork), chicken and shrimp. This dish was not bad. Some members of the family felt it was too salty, but others liked the savoriness. I liked the concept of rice + noodles intermingled together. 8. Papa Rellena (3/5) Fried potato stuffed with skimpy amounts of fillet mignon. It tasted and had a texture mostly like that of mashed potatoes.

Yelp
Ordered the lomo saltado and it was DELISH!! Server was very polite. Seat urself, indoor or outdoor and they bring menus and food to you. They didn't offer water until they took our order which wasn't a huge deal for me, but thought its worth mentioning lol Will definitely come back.

Fredye G.

Yelp
We had such a great lunch with our family. Food was incredible and service was great . Glad we found this restaurant while having a family event close by .

Yelp
Great flavor but kinda pricey. We came on the weekend for lunch, were seated immediately and have very attentive service. We got two dishes and both were bursting with flavor. Tallarines A La Huancaine Con Lomo Saltado pairs the lomo Saltado beef with pasta in a spicy cheese sauce. Lomo Saltado beef is robust flavor, nice and juicy pieces of appropriately cooked beef. The Huancaina sauce is a spicy cheese, and is more creamy than even an Alfredo. The sauce thickness makes it stick well to the pasta. Tallarines Verdes Con Bistec uses the same noodles in a pesto sauce. I don't get to have good pesto very often and this dish was a treat. The steak was a thin piece with large surface area, and its flavor easily meshed with the pesto on the noodles. Only complaint is the price per entrees, which were $26 and 22 respectively.

Yelp
Came for father's day and Juan was amazing! Juan seemed to be by himself but he was very attentive with several large parties during lunch time! The food was tasty. We got the tallarines verdes con bistec, bistec a lo pobre, chupe de camarones, anticuchos tradicional, ceviche Mancora, parihuela soup, the pisco sour, and pisco sour passion fruit. Definitely recommend and will happily return!

Jeff C.

Yelp
I liked it. Good Peruvian spot in Alhambra. Inside is simple with a few tables. There's also a small covered patio in front. We got the tallarind saltado de carne and the tallarines verdes con bistec. So good. And filling portions. The tallarind saltado reminded of me chow mein. The tallarines verdes was a nice pesto noodles. I also liked the spicy green sauce on the side, great for dipping the meat. Will definitely be coming back to try more. If you're having a Peruvian craving, check them out. Service was good. Friendly staff. There's a small lot in front or another parking structure across the street.

Roni V.

Yelp
Because of this place, I learned to like and really enjoy Peruvian food! The place is small and can be easily missed, but don't miss it because it is so worth stopping by for some delicious Peruvian food. They always have great friendly and fast service. The food is always on point and well prepared with fresh ingredients. I always end with a very happy and satisfied tummy.

Sophie V.

Yelp
Mi experiencia en el restaurant fue extraordinaria, el servicio de Juan fantástico y la comida. Nos llevamos el mejor recuerdo del día del padre.

Ari H.

Yelp
Lomo saltado is the best here. Delicious marinated steak with potatoes, onions, and tomato. It comes with a side of rice. The sauce is so good. Tallarines verdes con bistec was not my favorite. The scent of basil in the pesto was too strong and the sauce was too thick for the pasta noodles. Made everything clumpy. Steak was just grilled but thin and bland. Recommend the lomo saltado instead.

Toma C.

Yelp
This was my first time having Peruvian food. The fried chicken was good but u ate it many hours later. It might taste better hit. The fried rice was aldenti and had some good flavors. I wish the chicken was better tasting.

Chris L.

Yelp
Very glad I took the opportunity to dine at this Peruvian restaurant located in downtown Alhambra. For drinks, I would highly recommend the chicha morada which tasted like a flavorful juice with cinnamon and cloves. The yuca fries were the perfect appetizer to our meal. I personally thought they were far better than standard American fries, as the cassava was thick and dense in the perfect way. They paired wonderfully with the spicy cilantro jalapeno dipping sauce. All of the entrees were great here. Our server offered a mahi mahi special (see photo), which was by far our favorite item here. I was shocked that this entree wasn't on the menu given how delicious it was, but he said anyone can always request it whenever!

Kenny W.

Yelp
Didn't want to make the track to Mr Pollo or Misky Misky. Found this spot when I was yelping lomo saltado. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Wasn't particularly busy during dinner on a Wednesday night so not much of a weight for food. It's located right next door to a small market that is shares a parking lot with but have no fear, there was a lot of parking. There's also street parking as well. Inside the restaurant was pretty clean. They play what I assume is Peruvian music to set the vibe and have soccer playing. We ordered the lomo saltado and the tallarines a la huancaina. They were okay. It will satisfy your craving but we had to drench it with the green sauce. We had to ask for extra green sauce on the side twice as they were kind of stingy with it.

Stone F.

Yelp
The food was amazing! I had the chaufa (rice dish) which had chicken, and shrimp in it. It was topped with crunchy noodles which added a nice texture to the meal. There was more than enough for leftovers. Even with a large party we were treated well by the staff. There was seating available inside and outside. Even though a smaller space we were not over crowded or hearing others conversations.

Brissa L.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS A SCAM food was either BLAND or tasted like actual CRAP!! NOT WORTH! spent 100$ and couldn't even stomach more than 3 bites from each plate. please go elsewhere do not even give this place a shot. a place serving food like this doesn't deserve to be open. i don't know how they serve this garbage at these prices, can't even get a decent potato(bland not a pinch of salt or seasoning) yet it was worth 14$ I AM SO DISAPPOINTED !! the only thing i actually ate was the banana that was a side on one of the plates... yes the banana was the best part of this entire order. i've never came on here to leave a review but i've also never felt so disappointed and robbed. congrats mancora this is my first ever yelp review.

Sid D.

Yelp
Yes, this place is in SGV. If you are looking for something different than norm, this is the place! Delicious Peruvian food in Alhambra with amazing choices. Food was well prepared and tasted up to mark. This place is more of a hidden in the small plaza. They have limited tables but the service is top notch. We ordered seafood combo (like crunchy calamari) for appetizer, shrimp saltado, and steak tallarines. All the dishes had their own distinct flavors and everything was very satisfying! Highly recommended this place and I will be coming back!

Ben L.

Yelp
I went alone and ordered seco de lomo without knowing what it is. It is my first or second Peruvian food in my life. Food was really good. Properly grilled beef, and sauce was tasty. I couldn't imagine the flavor till I tried. In their menu, the serving size looks a bit small, so I thought this is a bit more expensive than I thought(19.99$?). However, I got way more than the picture in the menu. That must be a fake to satisfy customers lol I would definitely come again and try other food next time.

Ratika N.

Yelp
I wanted to try something new in Alhambra and found this restaurant in a corner on Main Street. I like that there is outside seating (covered). I love Peruvian food and mostly go to Mario's for authentic Peruvian. I ordered lomo Saltado and bistec a lo pobre. The food was nothing to rave about. If you have had authentic Peruvian, you will be disappointed. The food lacked flavor and I was surprised they don't provide bread. The service was friendly and there is parking near by, so that's a plus. But if you are looking for good authentic Peruvian food, look elsewhere.

Maria Elena L.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem! The place is so clean and the customer service is impeccable! So friendly, attentive, and gave great suggestions! This was the first time I've eaten Peruvian cuisine, and I can't express in words the freshness of the choros a la chalaca and does not have a fishy taste, the yuca fries were crispy, fresh, and had no oily taste, the Chicha Morada drink is so refreshing with a hint of cinnamon, and the Cielo' Mar y Tierra was magnificent! The quality of beef, chicken, and shrimp was exceptional. The rice was firm yet fluffy, and vegetables were grilled to perfection! You gotta try it! It tastes like someone enjoyed cooking and made it with love!

Irais T.

Yelp
Our server was great, the food came out fast and we enjoyed our meal. We had: Lomo Saltado Lomo Saltado, sub french fries for plantains Arroz con Mariscos

Reeya C.

Yelp
TLDR: Small restaurant offering great Peruvian food in Alhambra. Run to Mancora to check out their wonderful selection of Peruvian eats! It's been a while since I had Peruvian food, so I was excited to check this place out. We came in for lunch on a weekday, and they were fairly busy. The person I came with is Peruvian, so this is a joint review! For the drinks, we got Chica Morada, which offers a unique grape-like, but not overly sweet flavor. We highly recommend this drink if you're looking to try something authentic. For the main dishes, we split the Ceviche and Loma Soltado. Wow! We loved the explosion of flavors both offered. The former was tangy and filled with different raw seafood bites and vegtables. The latter was savory and came with seasoned beef strips, fries and rice. Also, save room for dessert and get the Helado de Lucuma. It's rich and will definitley satisfy your sweet tooth!

Kim C.

Yelp
Peruvian Food! Located on Main Street next to a Mini Mart, recessed in from street with a small parking lot in front. Menu is pretty extensive with lots of options. Because of lent- they even have a fish option for the lomo or tallarin. Waiter was helpful and very attentive checking on us throughout our meal. Came for lunch and we both were full after eating the appetizer- Jalea Mixta. Mixed seafood and yucca battered and fried with dipping sauce. Good sized and plenty to share. We enjoyed it. Had to take the lomo saltado home to eat.

Danika A.

Yelp
This restaurant is the place to check out in Alhambra! Everything from the Salchipapas to the Fried Yucca and to the Lomo Saltado was delicious ! Came here during lunch and left so full and happy. The prices are also very reasonable.

Roxy L.

Yelp
Not recommend at all! I order a causa a lomo and a tallarín saltado, to go after 30 minutes driving home ready to eat the tallarín saltado has a awful flavor of pure vinegar no salt and very greasy. Call back the restaurant to let them know about their food and maybe that wax a mistake, they just said sorry I will let the chef know. No refund or credit. Waste of money

Vanna T.

Yelp
Decided to try out this Peruvian restaurant in Alhambra since we keep driving by it on Main St. It's located right next to a convenience store. Parking lot is kinda small. The surrounding area and inside was fine. They offer outdoor dining option. Very quick and nice service. We ordered their two popular dishes, Tallarines Verdes Con Bistec and Bistec a Lo Pobre. The Tallarines Verdes Con Bistec comes with pesto sauce pasta and steak. The Bistec a Lo Pobre comes with fries, plantains, fried egg, steak and rice. Both were equally good and flavorful. We were too full to order desserts, but will come back to try it next time.

Melissa D.

Yelp
Been here twice. The first time was dine in and the food was ok. The second time I picked up and the food was extremely salty! It was definitely a waste of money.

Jenny T.

Yelp
Had to come back here due to another friend's suggestion. Ordered Lomo Saltado and Terrarines and a drink. $80. Taste bad as always. The place also smells bad. Service was good this time but I cannot imagine that we spent that much for incredibly unsatisfying dinners. Management is terrible as always.

Carmen M.

Yelp
First time trying Peruvian food. Impressed !!! Beautifully presented dishes!! We tried the lomo dish and a chicken dish. they are so good!!

Carlos D.

Yelp
Been coming here for a bit. Cute lil restaurant tucked in a small lot. Great professional service, always kind. The ceviche is unique, savory and tasty. Don't be fooled by the title, the bistec a lo pobre; it's not poor in taste or quantity. Must try it.

Sue W.

Yelp
Food os great. Peruvian friends gave 4*. Service is prob 3-4*' but it's a small place so you have to be a little understanding. We wentvwith a very large groups and thete were a few kisinderstood orders so i would repeat it to make sure

Jack L.

Yelp
This little restaurant tucked away in Alhambra's main street is superb! It's very low-key but serves some delicious food. I can't recall the name of the dish, but it comes with this fantastic yellow Peruvian cheese sauce that is just so good, I'd eat it with everything. Also they serve classic chicha morada and maracuya which you can't find anywhere else!

Rhea M.

Yelp
Stopped by here for an early Saturday night dinner at around 5:45pm. There was only one other patron and the parking lot was fairly empty. Got seated outside right away and food came out quickly. I was alone so I just ordered the pollo saltado. It was really good! Acidic, vinegary sauce; crispy, juicy chicken; and decadent carbs delight. I got my rice friend instead of plain white rice. I'd add the complimentary green sauce they provide to balance out some of the tart of of the dishes's sauce. Worked really well to do that and I appreciated how I could change up the rice. I'm extremely well versed in Peruvian food, but I've had pollo saltado at a number of places so this spot is just as good as anywhere I've tried. The service here is friendly and there's a lot of other yummy items on the menu I'm going to come back for. Recommend coming here with either a large appetite or another person so you can sample some appetizers. Service is really, really friendly too! So definitely check this spot out :)

melvin d.

Yelp
Real nice place to dine, taste is excellent, service is excellent, server asked if everything was right and noticed something was wrong, server was not satisfied until we were satisfied, definitely give him thumbs up for that. Will definitely come back

David D.

Yelp
This place is GOOD! The flavors and textures were perfect! I've tried a bunch of the Peruvian options in PA and this is my favorite after just one visit. We had the ceviche sampler (my favorite was the ceviche Mancora), the anticuchos (must get imo. So tender and flavorful!), lomo saltado, arroz con mariscos, the papa rellena (surprisingly good), and the causa (another must get. So creamy and delicious). It was a lot for 3 people, but we scarfed it all down! The place was kinda small and the interior was a little plain, except for the large screens everywhere showing soccer matches or an ad reel of the food they serve. I think it could be spruced up a bit, but it also did feel like many restaurants in Mancora, Peru (after which the restaurant is named). The one complaint I have is that the pisco sours (I had the traditional and my wife had the maracuyá) were pretty weak. Tasted more like a juice than a cocktail. Maybe just stick with beer. I can't wait to go again!

Karina A.

Yelp
Great food, I have been at other Peruvian restaurants and this is one of my number 1 place to be, is not fancy but it feels like I'm at a fancy restaurant, the service is great and the food is excellent. Don't miss to tried this restaurant! They have parking and the food is so much. Love it, I will come back with my whole family.

Van T.

Yelp
Visited this Peruvian spot for the first time after passing by so many times. We ordered our usual perfusion dishes, tallarin saltado, chaufa, and pollo saltado, and the most simple hot dogs and fries. Peruvian hot dogs and fries, "salchiapapas" is so simple and usually so good along with the green aji sauce and Mayo they give. All in all I give this place a 3. The food here was decent but had a distinct flavoring unlike the other 20-30 Peruvian places I've tried in my life time. Both me and my wife noticed a tart taste. This has to do with the sauce they make for everything. Even tho is wasnt bad, it wasn't to our liking. Since these Peruvian dishes usually have Asian influence, I'm used to tasting the "wok hay" in the food since it's mostly prepared using a wok. This location doesn't have the wok hay. The noodles were too wet, the fried rice was too dry, the frys were limp... Another staple is the green aji sauce. This location made it not too watery and not too thick, which was nice. The taste however was less spicy. Overall it's a nice location, but we will probably stick to the spots we like better. Pricing here was on the higher side as well.

Bobby H.

Yelp
Doesn't get much better than this folks! It may seem super odd right next to the 7-11 tucked away in the corner but as seasoned yelper this place did everything right! Delicious food with perfect portions and delicious sangria! What you see is what you get cooked steaks to perfection. Soft and delicious. Not much more to say really. Great staff and baby friendly to boot! Just go!

Adriana H.

Yelp
What happened? Was your normal cook off today? I've been ordering Lomo Saltado here for years! We usually love it. But something happened today. I ordered 5 Lomo Saltado over the phone. I picked it up. Once I got into my car, I noticed it smelled different so I opened it. The portions. It's like they got smaller as they went. The meat tasted questionable as to freshness and the green sauce that is usually amazing smelled and tasted like it had gone had. I know bc I'm the past it would go bad 1-2 days later in the fridge but this is how they served it to me today. I know it's right after new year's so maybe they were trying to get rid of what they had but it didn't smell good. It smelled like it was already going bad. Also the portions. Usually there is more French fries. Look at the pictures. Lastly the price. They charged me $24 per Lomo Saltado. So 5 Lomo Saltado was $120 plus tax $132! And it wasn't even good :(

Roxanna R.

Yelp
I ordered take out from here a couple weeks back. Ive had amazing Peruvian food before and this was definitely missing something. I'm not sure if it was because it was takeout but they're was almost no sauce in my papá a la huancaina and that's a huge part of that dish. The potatoes were also super tiny and only three, for the pricing they should have at least given me 6. It is also pretty expensive and not worth the price. I spent almost $80 on two dishes, the papas and two drinks. The person at the front desk was very nice and sweet. The place also looked very clean and nice. I don't think I will be going back any time soon mainly during to the pricing and the food.

Queen H.

Yelp
Very bad food that s not a Peruvian food I ask for chaufa they add clove on the rice plain rice with green onions and clove what is that horrible. The I ask for lomo saltado and it taste as liver stew. I never will come back again.

Elaine L.

Yelp
I came here for the first time with high expectations for the Lomo Saltado and it didn't disappoint. The portion is Huge and definitely shareable, but the dish itself was a bit too salty for me, as I was dehydrated for hours after my meal. Also ordered the Ceviche sampler to try and that was refreshing and tasty! Indoor and outdoor seating both available with plastic walls to separate each table which was nice. Parking lot is small but there's also a parking lot across the street for more spots.

Janelle P.

Yelp
Came last Wednesday for lunch and was blown away by how amazing the food was! It was my first time trying Peruvian food and absolutely love it not only were the dishes good but the drink as well! Being in Alhambra food is always great but some places are overly hyped, but Mancora is most definitely something that isn't hyped about enough! The arroz con mariscos is a large portion of pan fried rice with oysters, octopus, and shrimps. It was savory and well seasoned with a hint of lime. Every bite was delicious! The tallarines verdes con bistec was also scrumptious! The milanesa was not breaded but extremely tender and juicy the pesto noodles were a great complimentary dish with it being well cooked, and not under or overly pesto-y The chica morada is a purple peruvian drink made up of fruits, sweet corn, and cinnamon! You can taste all of it and its not overly sweet. The consistency is not too thick either and the cinnamon is light The dishes were large portions so you get your money's worth for sure! It was so good I only had a few bites left of pesto pasta left! I really enjoyed dining here and will most definitely come back to try other dishes! I highly recommend this place and feel that if you are craving some bomb food you should stop by!

Diana A.

Yelp
First time trying this place is very flavorful and portion wise it's fair with the price. While picking up it was kinda sad cause it was so empty. But the food is the same quality as other Peruvian places in LA. Steak is moist. Rice has some flavoring. Fries is fries. The banana is good. I think they need to update the inside with colorful walls will bring more people in. Tried the fried seafood and the pesto beef. Fried seafood is like fish and chips with calamari and the other seafood. Mix with tartar and green sauce they give is good. Pesto a bit light, interesting to see their version.

Yelp
This place was recommended by two friends for their Tallarenes Verdes Con Bistec and we ordered just that..which ended up being my favorite dish of the night. More to that soon~ I've tried a couple of Peruvian dishes like Peruvian chicken and Lomo Saltado, but was open to some new dishes. We sat outdoors and it was accompanied by some heat lamps which was cozy. There's it's own small parking adjacent to a Big T Mart, but plenty of street and nearby plaza parking on Main Street. We tried their ceviche sampler and it was okay. I think I liked the middle one the most out of the three, but it's plentiful in fish.. Hard to describe each one, but it was a good thing to try. They have a couple of fried plantain chips on top and lots of peanuts inside. I'd say their cooked dishes are what I'll stick to next time. Their Jalea Mixta was a very large and shareable appetizer that filled us up with plenty of fried goods and a homemade tartar sauce. I also liked dipping it in their Aji verde sauce as it had a spicy kick. A lot for a party of 4! Back to the Tallarenes Verdes Con Bistec.. star of the show! We ordered 2 plates to share for 4. Meat was tender and I loved the char taste. Aji verde sauce pairs well. The pesto pasta was perfectly Cooked and saucy to accompany the steak. Really enjoyable and I would come just for this dish again and probably anything with their steak.

Yelp
Delicious Peruvian place!!!! Service was a little more slow paced here but it fit well with us since us girl loves to chit chat and not be disturbed... me being the clutz that I am, I spilled my Sangria within a few mins and it took some time to flag a server for extra napkin. They were so kind to send me another without charging me! We order a lot for 4 girls but everything is worth a try! My favorite was the ceviche and Yucca Frita!!! Im a sucker for appetizers!

Yelp
I have been here many times and like some plates more than other have an awesome Lomo Saltado and decided with family to try other plates Ceviche is ok flavor was not there and ceviche Sampler to bland. But Pulpo al Olivo was awesome reach flavor on point. Look at my pictures i gave my humble opinion, I'm Peruvian i know will never be like home but isn't that bad my favorite plate is ceviche but here was bland. Customer service is awesome the guys are very polite. Recommended for Lomo Saltado, Pulpo al Olivo, Bisteck a lo Pobre and Mahi, Mahi.

Yelp
I love Peruvian food and my guy is half Peruvian. I eat at many Peruvian restaurants as well as eat home made Peruvian food. I came to eat at this restaurant very excited to try to the food. I saw the pictures on Yelp and they looked good. One of my favorite Peruvian items is Papa a la Huancaina. It is also my sons all time favorite food. We ordered 3 orders of Papa a la huancaina. 1 mixed lomo Saltado with beef, chicken, and shrimp. I order lomo saltado all the time as well as ceviche at other Peruvian Restaurants. We also got ceviche at this place. The papa a la huancaina was served warm and they used small red whole round potatoes, though one of our orders was mixed red and purple potatoes. The sauce was different and tasted more like a cheese sauce than huancaina sauce. Papa a la huancaina is supposed to be chilled sliced potatoes with huancaina sauce so this was very different that all other Peruvian places we have been too as well as at home, so this was disappointing. The sataldo was good but it was too salty in the sauce but otherwise it was fine. The ceviche we got was leche de Tigre. It also was different. It had not much fish. It also had banana chips which I don't usually find in Peruvian ceviche. It was very sour and hard to eat/drink While the saltado was good the ceviche and the papa a la huancaina were very different and the ceviche was not very good and this is coming from someone who loves Peruvian ceviche. Overall if you want authentic Peruvian food or if this is your first time trying Peruvian food don't try this place as it is a disappointment to authentic Peruvian food with authentic prices. The meal was $80 and could be much better spent elseware.
