MGM Resorts CEO asks all employees to get vaccinated to prevent future COVID restrictions | Eater Vegas

"An on-site inoculation clinic at a major Las Vegas convention venue administered thousands of COVID-19 vaccine doses to employees, their families, third-party partners, and entertainers as part of a broader employer vaccination push; this clinic, together with pop-up vaccine events held at the company’s properties, contributed to the high employee vaccination uptake and outreach efforts." - Susan Stapleton

Well after our horrible experience at ParkMGM, I lowered my expectations here! But tbh everything was much better at Mandalay Bay, Rooms, odor, cleanliness, restaurants…. What I didn't like is the check in process that was lengthy and time consuming plus the hotel didn't honor us our chase reserve benefits. Room upgrade should only be given or not upon availability but the hotel didn't respect that, they even offered us to pay for an upgrade! Room was good, bathroom as well, finally a refrigerator was available unlike ParkMGM but guess what? Be prepared to pay 50$ in order to store any item in the refrigerator. Crazy times no? Furthermore, can't ignore the crazy prices of the hotel mini market, 7$ for a pepsi can, orange juice etc…!

Google
The convention center is nice. However Uber and cab services are setup wrong with little staff to support it. Venetian is 100% better than this place. The suites are very nice.

Google
Never in all my travels has a hotel had the audacity to charge $16 for INSTANT coffee, on TOP of a $35 'mandatory resort fee' on top of the room charge! Absolutely outrageous price gouging, almost criminal. Came here for work, will never stay again at a place that's too cheap for instant coffee on top of ludicrous additional 'amenity' fees.

Google
Nice hotel and loved the comfy bed, clean room, and nice bath. Didn't love that using the fridge was $50, the toilet area door was broken and that the shower floor was a little sad looking with some dings. Beyond the downsides, I would consider staying here again.

Google
Its fantastic, the staff will try to help you to the best of there abilities, they were quick and efficient in guiding me to the place I wanted to go, its also very pretty especially during sundown and the waters very clean

Google
Delivers...whatever you've ever heard or seen about The Mandalay Bay convention is exactly that & so much better.

Google
Michael at the front desk had been amazing! I'd give this a 10/5 if I could. We're a group of 7 and stayed at the suite room on the 21st floor. Our trip had been amazing! The rooms were comfortable and very cleaned with gorgeous views. The beach and casinos were phenomenal. We'll definitely be back at our next family trip.

Google
I love this hotel and my HOST is amazing! The slots and tables always pay out. Staff are friendly and attentive at this location. I'll be back in August!

Yelp
Overall a great exhibit hall fitting the needs of the number of suppliers exhibiting during the US Foods Fanatics 2025 show. My only comment that when taking an uber at the uber pick up location the app shows W Hotel as the pickup point. I canceled multiple times but learned they have not changed the name of the pickup. It would be great if the app would always show Mandalay Bay and not the "W."

Yelp
My son's volleyball club has a tournament at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center the weekend of December 13-15 2024. It is such a sought out event for volleyball players, clubs and spectators. The venue is set up really nicely inside the hall. There are plenty of comfortable chairs for both players and spectators. The is enough room for the court in between each other but balls are flying everywhere! Our elderly family member was hit on the head by a volleyball. I don't know how to avoid that but maybe some protective nets or something in between? But we did appreciate that the chairs were comfy, there are water stations available to refill water bottles and food court with good options. Everything is expensive so if you can bring your own snacks, I would recommend that. Mandalay Bay hotel itself is still beautiful and kept up well. The convention center is a really nice venue.

Yelp
Had such a fun time at the Liberty Vs Aces Play offs game. Although the Aces didn't make it to the finals. I enjoyed the seats, stadium, alcoholic beverages, and the easy way to get to the convention center.

Yelp
SHADY and GREEDY! I brought my kids for the Super Bowl Experience, which was awesome. However, I do not agree with the trickery of hidden fees! Ordered some drinks at one of the kiosks. I was fully aware of the overpriced pre-mixed can of Crown & Coke, however after reviewing my receipt, they automatically add in a hidden "Gratuity" & "Service Charge." The guy didn't even make the cocktail; he just opened a can! When paying, they do not inform you about these hidden fees. Check out photo of my receipt. This is when I miss the "old" Vegas.

Yelp
This place is huge. Good experience overall. This is our second time here for our daughter's volleyball tournament. 3 days. We did not use their parking lot. We drove to Vegas and stayed at the MGM Grand and they said we could leave our cars their until midnight of the day of check out. We checked out on Monday around 11 am, we left the car there until the tournament was over. One thing is, be prepared to pay good money for snacks and food instead the convention center. And the lines are long. If possible, try getting your coffee and waters before getting there.

Yelp
Four days of presentations at the 68th IFEBP Conference. Great place for conventions, lots of meal choices and very spacious. Hope out of town attendees enjoyed. I was home!

Yelp
I was here for the superbowl experience. Very big convention center. They had all convention center parking blocked off, which forced everyone to park in the main garage. Can't blame them too much as they have so much going on for superbowl week. But, when parking elsewhere, you do have to walk quite a bit to get to the convention center in the very back of the building. Plenty of room for displays and to hold all the people who attended.

Yelp
You don't need to read this entire review, just the tip. (Just the tip!) Parking Garage TIP: FIRST 60 min in the parking structure is FREE. If you're a NV resident: FIRST 3 HOURS in the parking structure is FREE! I came here to the Mandalay Bay convention center tonight just to pick up my badges for CES. I was hoping I wouldn't have to pay for some exorbitant parking charge just to pick up my badges, so thank goodness the first 60 minutes are free. Update: I didnt make it back to my car in 60min because they were giving out cookies and Glenlivet 12 inside the convention center. It was a good thing I recently received my Nevada driver's license (peace out Cali!) because I got 3 hours free! Dooope. I hope these tips can help someone!

Yelp
We were here for a volleyball tournament. There are very few food options. There is no seating or waiting areas outside of the convention center for the players and their families in between games. If you sit on the carpeted floors, security asks you to stand or leave because sitting is a fire hazard. The parking and ride share drop off and pick up is a nightmare. We spent a lot of money to travel to and play in the tournament and so far the Mandalay Bay Convention Center has been the worst location that we've attended for a tournament.

Yelp
This weekend 9/4/21 we went to see the Maluma concert. This review is just a few things to be aware if you attend an event at Mandalay Bay. - we had tall cans and thought we would have to toss them before entering, this facility lets you bring in outside alcoholic drinks - if have assigned seats check your email before heading out, our event doors were supposed to open at 8 and we got an email that the event was delayed by an hour we showed up at 10 and the show started at 11pm - there is only one entrance and exit expect delays when entering the facility - the lines were so long they went all the way to the parking lot they don't have the proper staff to get the public in quickly Hope this helps if you are attending any events in the near future.

Yelp
A massive space that a few conventions and events could be going on at the same time with little or no overlap. Walking from one side to the other is like walking through an empty airport. Granted it was the Mandalay Bay Covention Center. So a fancy airport. The reason I was there was to go to a AEW Double Or Nothing 2022~ Fan Fest. A pre-gathering of pro wrestling fans the day before a major pro wrestling event the next day. On hand were current pro wrestlers from the promotion doing meet and greets plus tables and tables of merchandise. They also had scheduled panels with pro wrestlers being interviewed. All of it. Easily accommodated in one giant room holding a few thousand people. Just the sheer size of the convention center is astounding. To me, not knowing the price of holding a convention in this location. Why wouldn't you have a convention here? It's easy to get here. Tons of parking. Tons of space. Clean and nice surroundings. To me it's a no brainer. A great venue for a convention in Las Vegas.

Yelp
I was here recently for the Supply Side West tradeshow and besides the booths having carpet, there is no carpet in the main aisle ways. Because of this, your back and feet hurt, and you get exhausted much faster than previous years that were carpeted. I don't understand why they don't have carpet anymore. It would be a much more pleasant experience.

Yelp
Just greedy and rotten to the core, girls volleyball tourney and they want $10 for a bottle of Gatorade, generic water is $7, these are families not tourists. Maybe don't fleece hard working supportive parents of youth sports and do a better job making money via your casino hotel, or fleece the corporate ppl that come to your convention center, it's just poor management and bad look. Food sucks at the snack bar $20 for microwave food, it's just sad that you operate this way.

Yelp
Nice facility but it would have been nice if there were more sitting areas. The food court can get crazy when there is a convention going on (You have been warned!) but the restrooms were always clean. Wishing everyone a successful Expo!

Yelp
Great venue spot, the Resort is absolutely gorgeous!! I finally got to see the WNBA "Aces' vs LA Sparks, bucketlister for me! I had seats right behind the players, so no viewing issues for me. Checking in was a breeze, everyone was friendly and helpful. I purchased some popcorn and a slushie, the popcorn was really tasty. Bathrooms were clean and maintained, which was a plus, some convention centers are to cheap to hire someone while a event is going on. Overall I had a great experience and would attend again, The Aces won, I really came to see Aisha Wilson #22 from SC, she did a awesome job we lover her!!! Pet Peave: I wish people would sit their behinds down and come on time to events, so annoying people walking all over you, and no your not sorry, sick of that too! Lol Half time entertainment: Cirque Du Soleil!!!! Kobe Bryant in the house supporting the LA Lady Sparks

Yelp
In the last week I've attended two different events in the Mandalay Bay Convention center. 1. Future fortunes / Finale Giveaway 2. ISL Grand finale Both events were excellent. Easy excess from Mandalay or Delano. Clean facility's with prepared staff. The pools built for ISL absolutely amazing!

Yelp
I had a terrific time at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center where I was one of the 2,500 that attended the Workers Compensation and Disability Conference. The trade show space was gigantic and provided a bright cheery arena to meet the many vendors, visit the booths, and mingle with the attendees. The signage to the CC was excellent and guides you along the long walks to and from the adjoining Four Seasons and Mandalay Bay hotels. The Convention Center has a pretty big food court with pizza, Subway, Chinese, Johnny Rockets, and Nathans. Lots of seating and lots of people clearing tables.

Yelp
As a Vegas local and business professional, I go to a lot of trade shows throughout the year. This week I attended the Licensing Expo at Mandalay Bay Convention center and it was the perfect size for the show. The check in process to get my badge was simple and I liked how easy it was to walk the convention center without getting lost. I recommend bringing your own lunch and water if you leave the event unless you want food court food but inside at the booths there was food and drinks being offered by the exhibitors. There are also some restaurants inside of the casino if you have time for a sit down meal. Also, if you have a MGM players card and credit card linked together, parking is free at MGM properties.

Yelp
I've been to the Cosmoprof beauty show the last 10+ years, which is always hosted here in July. The convention center is attached to the Mandalay Bay hotel, so it takes about 10-15 minutes to hit the show floor from the Mandalay elevators. It's a nice convention center with plenty of bathrooms. I've set up my show booth in the past so I've also worked with the various show unions, all of whom work hard, KUDOS. I do despise the food court area, at lunch the lines might take 30 minutes. UGH. They also have absurd show prices on all food and drinks, I paid $10 for a small Red Bull. The Cosmoprof show is a well-oiled machine, generally speaking this is a good convention center, but the food situation always irks me.

Yelp
I have very mixed feelings about the Mandalay Bay Convention Center because what it does well is fantastic, but there are some drawbacks that bring it down. To give some background I was there last week as part of the Maui Invitational. I was part of one of the 8 participating teams that were staying at the hotel and using the convention center. The good: The place is massive. Could hold giant conventions and is completely walkable indoors from the hotel to the convention center. The bathrooms were big and clean and there were plenty of them. The not-so-good: the wifi in the convention center at least where I was pretty poor. I often found myself reverting to my data instead of using the wifi. The signage in the place can be confusing. I don't know if it is just the amount of things in the center but I found the signs to be more of a hindrance than a help. The last thing I thought was really odd. If you for there and walk around the next time you touch metal you're going to get shocked. I'm including a screenshot of a video where you can literally see electricity coming out of my finger. From talking with employees this seems like a regular issue and I was told it was because they "don't clean the floors enough"

Yelp
It was a good convention center. Lots of space. However, the signs for the various conference rooms are atrocious. I kept having to ask for directions, and the attendants didn't know it correctly either! The bathrooms on the exhibition floor didn't always have paper towels to wipe your hands after washing them. I liked the Special Meals they had. One huge annoyance was how the Las Vegas Parking Authority people didn't let the Uber drivers drop us off at the door -- huge pain.

Yelp
Mandalay Bay Convention Center is definitely not no T-Mobile Arena so don't get too excited lol. I've been to a few events here and I guess never dawned on me to write a review about it. I ended up scoring 4 complimentary tickets to an ACES WNBA game. Pretty awesome right? Yeah I can't remember the last time I was at a WNBA game so the experience was awesome. I was able to bring my little brothers and they had a blast. The seats were great! I'm loving this whole movement with Las Vegas bringing professional sports teams to the city. I support 100% and attend as many games now as my schedule allows. Like any other venue the concessions will never fail to offer you some of the most basic snacks at astronomical pricing. Security here is extremely tight which is awesome and I believe it is actually in general around Mandalay Bay. On the particular day we were there they had some sort seward leak or maybe a pipe bust that ran from the restroom because the entire venue smelled like you know what lol. Other than that, overall the family had a great time!

Fred P.

Yelp
Worst crowd management I have seen in a convention center. Over an hour of Single file line just to get into parking area. Take a cab or walk if you can. Today I couldn't and spent my morning sitting in my car. Oh it gets better. After an hour they turned us away because their parking is full. Who builds a convention center without enough parking for a childrens sporting event ? I guess they only worry about having enough parking for the Carrot Top "comedy" show.

Yelp
Horrible experience today. Been here for 3 days and today the parking lot was closed for an emergency. I know it happens but at least have someone with at least a high school education providing alternative information. I was directed from one closed entrance to another, to another, then all over again. In all, it took over 90 minutes in gridlock to finally get to alternate parking way out of the way. Disaster!!!! Even called on and they were also useless. No coordination whatsoever. Thanks for the relaxing stay Mandalay Bay. I should of stayed home, or went to the beach instead.

Yelp
Spent $18.50 for a bottled water and a sandwich so dry I couldn't eat it. They have a captive audience so they gouge the customers. Take your lunch so you don't get screwed by these people.

Yelp
Great convention center connected to both the Mandalay Bay Hotel and The Four Seasons Hotel. The catering staff did an excellent job helping me plan cater and staff a reception for 75 during a recent convention. The servers and bar staff were great. The venue, Sea Scape Ballroom was amazing. It is at the bottom of the aquarium with glass walls so you can see all of the sharks swimming by during your function. These guys do good work in a great facility. #VegasStrong.

Yelp
Absolutely fucking terrible. We simply needed to pick up a package from the FedEx Office. We pulled into the parking garage and it said that the first 60mins would be free. We double parked by the elevator while my boyfriend ran in and grabbed the package. When we came back out and tried to leave, the machine said we owed $15.00. We called the help button and explained the situation. She said because it's New Year's Eve, there's a flat rate of $15.00. This was not clearly marked when we entered the parking garage. We explained to her we'd hardly been there and we're not an any event, just picking up a package. She had us enter our ticket and saw we had only been there 15 minutes and said "that's passed 5 mins." We couldn't even physically get to the package office in less than five minutes. She was absolutely rude and unhelpful and it is unbelieve that they couldn't make an exception.

Yelp
Went here for barret Jackson car auction. $12 for a crap hot dog. No thanks. I saw several people say no thanks and hand them back when they got the the pay area. Seemed to be around the same price for a drink too.
