As a self-proclaimed espresso snob, mandarin delivers in so many aspects of coffee enjoyment. Their lattes are delicious and creative, the signature combining ginger and spices with just the right amount of sweetness. The cortados and cappuccinos hit so hard as well - bitters are controlled to perfection. Oh and their latte art is top notch. Rarely do you have both amazing coffee and incredible latte art but they do it. This is hands down my new favorite coffee spot.

Mandarins second location and it’s beautiful! Love the natural lighting and it’s very open with more space. The new location is on the main level of apartment complex and on the corner of Quigley & Colorado. I had to come here with my mom and she got the extra hot latte with regular milk + added cinnamon on top the perfect latte and I got brown sugar latte with oat milk no adjustments on sweetness because it’s the perfect balance. If I go anywhere else I have to always order half sweet. They also have great signature drinks :)

Finally stopped by this new Mandarin location and was quite pleased. The barista Eddie took his time to explain their specialty items and make some recommendations. We had the specialty "One and One" and a matcha tonic, and they did not disappoint! Easy street parking and no long lines on Sunday afternoon.

finally!! the long-awaited second (and much larger) location of Mandarin Coffee (dubbed Mandarin 2), located on an unsuspecting corner of E Colorado Blvd. open minimalist space with natural light, soft music, free wifi, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (standing bar, stools, chairs). lots of free street parking as well. great place to pop in for a quick drink or leisurely meet up with friends. the pastries are from the same bakery as the OG location, with plenty of coffee and espresso options as well as seasonal offerings, matcha, and non-caffeinated drinks. love that they don’t charge extra for oat milk!! i recommend their Gui Hua latte (served hot only); well balanced floral notes with a hint of sweetness that isn’t overpowering. the staff is friendly and efficient. came here on a Wednesday morning with relatively no wait. elated to have fantastic coffee within walking distance in the neighborhood ☕️☕️☕️

First time checking out Mandarin’s new location, and the quality is amazing. I ordered their specialty “One and One,” and it turned out to be both unique and absolutely delightful! Very chill spot with friendly staff.

⛾ “toasty”、cappuccino good amount of seating, has wifi and bathroom, really liked the “toasty” drink for the interesting aftertaste. cappuccino was alright, i feel like the espresso was a bit off and pretty sour. cute latte art!

The space is beautifully designed. The service is really good. Questions answered knowledgeably and overall kind demeanor. But I was not happy with my drink. I paid $10 for an iced cappuccino (I didn’t know the single origin espresso was much more expensive, plus adding milk cost an extra $2), so the total was $10 yikes! It was definitely not worth $10. I would love to keep supporting this small business, but the espressos they use are not my cup of…coffee.

Hooray for a new location! Place is small but warm, chill/friendly baristas, not a chaotic vibe at all like some other busy coffee places! They have pretty interesting drinks like some sort of osmanthus latte and the orange blossom cold brew was great as well But yes it was pretty busy when we went on the weekend, but the line moves. Some folks are reading, some were on their laptops, although I wouldn't say it's a cafe meant for working (table space is limited) but great they they could do that on the small tables lol If you're close by, it's worth stopping in! Tbh both locations are a vibe, although this one's further out but much, much less busy than the other location. There were much more families dressed well at this one, so I wonder if there was a church nearby or that's just how east pasadena is lol

I really like the iced latte with brown sugar. One of my favorite lattes I've had. The one and one was good. The gui hua latte was decent. Skip the sicily and the americano.

I came to try mandarin 2 on a random Thursday hoping it would be somewhat similar to the original stand in Pasadena, however it was not. To begin with, this place definitely had more of a cafe feel where there is more seating and space for one to work both inside and outside the cafe, which I can appreciate. Staff is very friendly, although they were a tad busy im sure they do their best to get orders out as quickly as possible. As for the coffee, I was expecting to see my absolute favorite Vienna latte here and was disappointed to see that it wasn't. Instead the barista recommended I get an iced toasty which is more on the sweeter side (his words). It definitely wasn't, the coffee was in the stronger side and had a burnt flavor, maybe that's why it's called the toasty. Especially for that price I wouldn't buy it again. Overall I would appreciate this place a lot more if their menu had just remained the same as their original.

Nice coffee shop with some seating indoors and bench stool seating outdoors. Located at the corner of the new apartment building with a small signage. Lovely latte art with unique signature drink selection. There's also a good matcha selection on the menu. Enjoyed the smooth osmanthus latte. I like the wooden zen feel decor. Pretty popular new addition to the East Pasadena cafe scene.

Mandarin has been on my list of coffee shops to try and was glad they opened up a second location on a not so busy street of Pasadena! Came here on a Sunday morning post brunch, and there were people seated to enjoy their drinks, but not a line for ordering. Most of the seats were taken and even the two tables outside were occupied with groups of people. We were looking for something refreshing and light on a warm Sunday in December, so we opted for the Matcha Tonic and Sicily. The matcha tonic was perfectly paired with the yuzu, which added a nice refreshing flavor to the strong smooth matcha. The Sicily is cold brew with hints of citrus from the orange and lemon - this pairing works well and the cold brew is extremely smooth. Even with all the citrus aspects, the cold brew was not acidic at all, unlike other places, which I really appreciate! I'll have to be back to try the other drinks on the menu!

Mandarin is a fave!! Altho first location is beautiful but I love the second location spot because well on a good day there ain't no line and still the best quality drinks you can get! My fave here is the Vienna, Matcha Latte and Houjicha! Delicious :).

Maybe it's just the oat milk that the barista recommended to me (Koatji), but I had the nastiest matcha latte ever here. I was really looking forward to trying their matcha but it left an awful aftertaste in my mouth. My partner got the hojicha latte with the same oat milk and agreed it was awful. Got the gluten free donuts and they had an aftertaste too. I was desperate for water after coming here to get rid of the flavor of my drink and food. To make matters worse, the price was painful... nearly $30 for two small donuts and two drinks. Lovely vibes and employees are nice but the stuff I tried here was disappointing. Hopefully in the future it's better if I ever want to come back....

A bit of a wait on a Saturday morning but I was excited to check out the new location. It's much bigger than the original as its got indoor and outdoor seating. The menu here has different drinks than the og but also very good! Tried both the matcha and the iced toasty.. both delicious! The drinks taste great without being too sweet. Also tried their savory musubi croissant which was tasty but a lil salty for my liking.

Lines are going to form once you realize that it's so much more accessible for those who are on the east side of SGV. Bigger space, seating areas, distilled to the essence of coffee--what else would make one happy? Parking aplenty on the street. Current hours are 8-2 daily with plans to expand in the future. There are Mandarin 2 exclusives and an expanded pour over selection.

Interior is gorgeous. Service is good. But I am not a fan of their coffee, unfortunately. I paid $10 (yes, $10!!!) for a cappuccino using their darker roast of espresso. I wasn't informed that using their alternate espresso would be an upcharge, so that was a bit of a surprise when the total came up. Anyway, despite the upcharge, the flavor was not to my liking at all. There was nothing I found likeable about the taste of the espresso. Will not be returning.

in love with Mandarin Coffee's second location! street parking is fairly easy and I love that they have seating options. the menu has a few differences, one of them being that there is no Vienna Einspanner. however, the quality of the coffee is still the same and their customer service remains up to par. my gui hua latte was beautifully poured and lightly floral without being overpowering.

My go to spot for a brown sugar iced latte! I love this location especially the seating and the standing tables they have. The staff is always very friendly and service is great! Parking in the street.

I love the ambiance and the space itself. I was warmly greeted upon entering and the staff answered some of my questions. In comparison to their other location, they have more seating both inside and outside and I don't feel as overwhelmed in the space. You're also likely to find street parking which is convenient. I enjoyed my specialty latte and chocolate chip cookie as well. If I had to pick, this one would be my go to location!

I am a fan of mandarin coffee stand already and I was so happy when I saw this location opened as it's closed to my son's school. I had tried their matcha tonic and one + one. Both were delicious! One + one include one cortado, espresso shot and herbal tea as cleanser. I love how they balance with each other. Matcha tonic was also great. I can taste the distinct matcha with yuzu juice. My son also enjoyed their pastry.

I ordered the matcha tonic drink. It came with a dried orange slice and was fizzy. There was plenty of seating inside and lots of red plastic backless stools outside. Found parking on the street.

I came through a friend's recommendation. I got the Sicily. The lime gives it a really refreshing feeling that's perfect when you're feeling thirsty. I also stayed for a popup experience after 2pm in which they had a very long line. I got to try some unique pour overs which was a very fun experience. I parked in the neighborhood behind the coffee shop. There were a lot of peacocks/peahens on the street.

Love that there's a second location now. Less traffic with more space available to sit and chat! Their drinks are still high quality just like the first location.

Stopped by Mandarin 2 Cafe and ordered two mochas with 70% dark chocolate. Really enjoyed them--rich, not overly sweet, and definitely an 8/10. The ambience is pleasant and makes it a nice spot to sit and relax. They brew fast, service is pretty good. Would come back for a casual coffee stop.

Cute little coffee spot right off the freeway. Plenty of seating and very delicious coffee. Service was pretty quick!

My daughter introduced me to this new coffee house near our neighborhood, I must say -- their coffee selections are absolutely amazing! We've tried three and in another visit 5 different drinks so far, and each one has been wonderful -- an alchemy of balanced flavors, rich and refined with that upscale taste you only get from truly great coffee and tea. Loved it, loved it, loved it! This is definitely our new go-to spot.

I stopped by this joint on a rainy day, surprisingly it was packed. Matcha latte was average, but the blueberry muffin was amazing, fluffy and not too sweet. I love the ambiance, very chic.

NOW OFFICIALLY OPEN!!! This place rocks! Although majority of people will probably order iced lattes, their coffee program is totally legit! The vibe is energetic and can be a bit loud if everyone is talking. Love all the natural wood elements, very modern and very cozy especially with the big windows. This place would be amazing to just kick back and read during the rainy season. Definitely try a Single Origin One and One. Single Origin Espresso is on point. If you're not looking to be a real coffee enthusiast, then they have some wonderful iced lattes for you!

The best coffee! I am so excited for indoor seating. They have unusual flavors, teas, and specialty coffee drinks.

I mean It's Mandarin, what do you expect but perfection and passion and that's what I got today when I visited this new spot. All the seating you would want, I also like that they brought in the bar top, looking out to the mountains. I feel like it's a nod to the first Mandarin with the inside bar facing the arcade aka the long line of people loving the coffee being made inside. The coffee I had was exceptional and there was talk of all the wood finish being painted over, I hope it doesn't happen because the raw wood finish gives the space such a warm and easy feeling, it's actually very beautiful to look at, it plays well with the eastern aesthetics of the brand. Congratulations and well done guys!!

Beautiful ambiance and a great place to enjoy a morning meet up with friends and family, or catch up on work. The coffee never misses! I really admire how consistent Mandarin keeps there drinks. I know I can always count on my go too. Highly recommend visiting!!

Very slow...guess they're still figuring it out - would be useful to have existing crew from other location help train...

Been going to the original Mandarin since it opened, so glad to see Mandarin 2 in a bigger space with indoor seating, all with the same great coffee!
