Mandarin & Mango Boutique Hotels, Faralya, Turkey - Explore & Book

"Around a hairpin bend, on a mountain backroad, lie 2 small, perfectly formed boutique hotels that peep at the Mediterranean through pine and olive trees. Villa Mandarin and its newer sister Villa Mango nestle among lush gardens packed with a profusion of fruit, flowers and sprays of bougainvillea; fresh sea air perfumed with jasmine and oleander. The owner, Ghislain, is well-travelled (born in Izmir, his father was French, his mother British), but this is where his heart lies. He invites his guests to make themselves at home; relax in the gardens or chill by one of the 2 pools; listen to the soothing sounds of, say, Billie Holiday (Ghislain is keen on jazzy-bluesy music, antiques, real fires, old leather chairs) as the sun sets over the Bay of Fethiye. Reconvene on the rooftop terrace each evening for dinner, which is a fabulous feast of 5 courses showcasing traditional Turkish cooking. Then, once rested and refuelled, head out to discover the natural joys of the region: unspoilt beaches, rustic hamlets, pine forests, rocky bays, Mount Babadag and beautiful Butterfly Valley – keen walkers will be in paradise. You're only a 10-minute drive from Olu Deniz, but this peaceful spot is a world away from the package-tour crowds. Highs The stunning scenery – this is one of the most unsullied corners of Turkey’s southern coast The walk down to Kabak beach – through pine-scented woodland, down steep cliff paths, to a magical little bay 16 spacious, luxurious rooms and 2 plush Pool Villas – all with private Jacuzzis The peace and tranquility (no kids under 12), and the stunning views of the Mediterranean The food – breakfast, afternoon tea, 5-course dinners – served in the rooftop restaurant, with westerly views towards the sea and sunset... truly romantic Lows The hairpin drive to Faralya – not for novice hire-car drivers with a nervous disposition The gardens attract wasps during the summer months No night life to speak of, other than a quiet drink after dinner. Guests tend to retire early Though rich in walks and wildlife, Faralya is off the beaten track in terms of guide-book attractions. You will want transport, although dolmus (public minibuses) pass by regularly There are dogs – not ideal, if you’re not keen on other people’s (friendly) four-legged friends" - Lesley Gillilan

Mandarin & Mango Boutique Hotel | Best places to stay in the Turquoise Coast

"Faralya, a remote hamlet wrapped around the head of a sheer sea gorge, is the perfect setting for this romantic hideaway which will appeal especially to nature lovers and walkers. The newly-built but traditionally-styled Villa Mango is a handsome country house, with enormous and meticulously appointed rooms, wonderful pool and dining terrace. There are great poolside gardens, good food, and wonderful walking, but it’s also within easy reach of the famed beach at Oludeniz, the ghost village of Kaya and the bustling streets and gorgeous waterfront of nearby Fethiye. The hotel is perfectly located for starting to hike the Lycian Way, and its stand-out stretch. It’s the base of lifelong Turkey hand Ghislain Sireilles, who has built a faithful clientele, especially of nature lovers and hikers. Ghislain knows the local paths, including the Lycian Way, as well as anybody and regularly leads walks. This is a bolthole for those who want the stunning Turkish scenery without the crowds – but be aware, the road up to the village is something of a white-knuckle ride. " - Jeremy Seal

The unique hotel created by Ghislain Charles Sireiles is more than just a place to stay - it’s an invitation to discover both nature and yourself in perfect harmony. Guided by Ghislain, each walk turns into an inner journey, while the refined cuisine, perfect hygiene, warm hospitality, and luxurious comfort make this a place you simply won’t want to leave.

Yes! The Mandarin & Mango Boutique Hotels is a a magical place -- a genuine hidden treasure. The well appointed rooms are expansive with beautiful views. The staff is exquisite. Each member of Ghislain's staff made us believe we are cherished family members. The afternoon tea and five-course meals on the terrace overlooking the beautiful Turkish Turquoise Coast were well prepared and very delightful to consume. We absolutely recommend you take advantage of Ghislain's willingness to take you to St. Nicholas Island for a bar-be-cue on the boat and to the 6,500-feet (2000-meters) Mount Babadag summit for paragliding down over the lagoon to the Ölüdeniz beach.

We have just spent 3 magical days at The M&M. The Hotel is a gem. Beautiful location and a really special team making you feel at home. The pool area is perfect with great areas to relax under olive trees or in an alcove beautifully decorated. Every part of the hotel has charm and thought put into it. Couldn’t think of a better place to relax for three days. Thanks everyone

When I write reviews i always try to give a fair rating, the one to five scale does not provide enough scope to differentiate properties, therefore I often find that I am torn between ratings. Giving a four seems too generous, a three mean, my tendency is to move up not down. In the case of Mandarin & Mango would like to give more than five. This is an exceptional small hotel. The setting is beautiful, the garden a riot of beautiful flowers, the rooms are large and comfortable. If you opt for the half board package (which you should !), you will enjoy wonderful fresh baked cake with tea in the afternoon and magnificent five course meals in the evening, in the most beautiful setting watching magic sunsets over the Turkish coast.|The whole package is completed with the charming owners and ever smiling staff who make you feel as though you are friends rather than mere hotel guests. Indeed the recommendations for site seeing were provided in a charming and personal way, complete with excellent detailed hand drawn maps. We saw amazing places thanks to this help and advice.|Our only small criticism , we did not like the swing doors to the bathroom, it made the bathroom rather less private than we like.|Thank you all at Mandarin.|

Fabulous! We just stayed four nights at the Mandarin & Mango Boutique Hotel and didn't want to leave! It's a really lovely small hotel with very well equipped rooms. It's in a great location for exploring this beautiful region and all its ancient sites, and the food is simply delicious! We were on an half-board basis; the breakfasts were excellent, but the evening meals were simply wonderful! Many thanks!

The hotel provides guests with calm atmosphere and excellent service. We enjoyed our vacation here especialy watching sun rising every morning. The service is always helpful in everything you'd like to get for your living. One thing that impressed us the most was dinner. It consists of 5 meals and is served on the terrace with a beatiful sea view.

I stayed at Mango for almost 2 weeks and had the most amazing time. The whole team were extremely attentive and gave great advice whenever we felt like a trip to the beach or an activity. The dinners were a big highlight, a delicious 5 course meal with loads of variety! We stayed in one of the private villas which was beautiful and we had the most amazing view of the sunrise every morning. Would recommend to families or groups of friends! Perfect holiday with all the trimmings.

My one week stay at Mandarin & Mango was so relaxing, just what I needed! The hotel itself is very serene, such a homely feel. The meals were such a highlight, especially the five course dinners overlooking the sunset, forest and sea. The pool is the perfect place to chill with a book all day long. Best of all is the staff who are so attentive, thoughtful and warm. The location is perfect with plenty of beaches within walking distance or a 15 mins driving (the buses are very frequent and pass right by the hotel, taxis also available of course). Oludeniz is a 15 mins drive where you can find boats, bars, restaurants, paragliding and more. I would definitely recommend for families or a group of friends. Huge thanks to Ghislain, Aysegul, Bilge, Fatima, Ilkay and the rest of the team!
