I had the Idaho maki and the chicken bento. The bento tastes good and the Idaho was decent. The music was nice and the servers were decent.

One of my favorite places to eat in Lowell. Food is always delicious and ftesh, and the service is always superb. My favorites are the avocado ball (appetizer) and the veggie stir fry with white sauce. Extra bonus: they cater to food allergies and have gluten-free soy sauce. A great value for the food and service, we always come back here!

Google
Good food, prices seemed reasonable. Only downside was no draft beer. Also great live band while I was there.

Google
The sushi is not sushi…. I mean im probably at fault for assuming it was but the sushi is literally ground fish in a soggy seaweed wrap, its gross. The miso soup literally looks and tastes like it was made in a toilet, please save your money and time here

Google
The best Chinese, any time of day! The best seating and music. It's a respectable family run restaurant that joyfully welcomes you to enjoy. An easy to fall in love with, home away from home. 🌿🌸 They delightfully serve champagne bottles for two (lovely!)

Google
Terrible customer service and the owner is extremely unprofessional and rude, definitely racially profiled me. I ordered sweet & sour chicken with boneless spare ribs and low mein (assumed it came with rice like the menu combo stated), but when I received my food it came with half low mein that didn't even fill the bottom of the container, chicken fingers, 4 pieces of boneless spare ribs, and sweet & sour sauce on the side.. when I went in to address my issue with my sweet & sour chicken and my missing rice, I asked if i could get any other chicken that actually came with sauce ON it and the manager raised her voice at me and said " if you don't like how we make our sweet and sour chicken you can get a refund and eat somewhere else ! " I told her that her disrespectful tone and attitude was unnecessary and I just wanted something similar to what sweet & sour chicken SHOULD look like if you were to see it online or in any other restaurant. The manager then stupidly decided to grab my food from my possession and throw my ALREADY PAID FOR order in the trash and told me " get a refund" as if i said i didn't want my food. As i waited for authorities to arrive the manager went to the back and came directly towards me with a pitcher of water and told me to get out & i wasn't welcome there, continuing to step towards me with the filled pitcher of water w/ intentions to spill it on me but the police had arrived to the restaurant. The fact that everyone in the restaurant was white including the guitar player, I feel as though i was treated this way because of my race and the manager wouldn't have treated any of those customers that way. Disgusting behavior, especially from a manager and i'll never go to this racist place again.

Google
For my money, the best Chinese food in the city. We order it in usually, and the order arrives hot, i think they cook it in the car on the way over. The restaurant itself is cozy and usually lively. Parking is a bit tough as it's downtown. But it is a great place for some great food and drinks.

Yelp
Best mapo Tofu in Lowell order it everytime I don't feel good lol ... numbing and spicy have to eat it piping hot!

Yelp
I was in need of some quick Chinese takeout but also wanted some sushi and this place had both. I ordered the shrimp fried rice, chicken wings and the shrimp tempura sushi roll. The process was quick and average prices. The food was good, loved the chicken wings and the rice was freshly made. The sushi was also good but it had a creamy white sauce in it which was different and not needed in my opinion. It also wasn't listed on the menu for the sushi and not sure what it was. Parking is scarce as this restaurant is downtown. The restaurant seems to have a large take out crowd and regulars were dining.

Yelp
Tasty Chinese and Japanese food! I really like ordering their crab rangoons and gai poo lo mein (lo mein with chicken fingers on top). Everything is very palatable and their restaurant is clean. Workers are very nice and efficient.

Yelp
14 years in Lowell and for Sushi / Chinese or just a Martini or Mai Tai or three there is no better place in town. Always friendly & filled with regulars. With Sally you are always just extended family. Sidewalk seating in season & live music on F & S. Enjoy & Yes, I told you so !!

Yelp
We had wonton soup, chicken fingers, Kung pao chicken and garlic shrimp. The dishes were all quite tasty and with good portions. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Yelp has come in SO CLUTCH this road trip. Searched on the highway for best sushi near Lowell and here we are. Bonus- we 'checked in' for a free crab Rangoon appetizer. Not sure why this would be their freebie because it was THE BEST I've ever had. We also had the spring rolls 5/5 Boston rolls 5/5 Spicy tuna rolls 5/5 Out of Control rolls- my boyfriend said '20 out of 10' soo good Gen gaos chicken- classic but done perfectly Oh and for dessert (because their dessert menu is PHENOMENAL) we suggest the chocolate truffle because why not? Praise the road trip yelp guide

Yelp
By far and above Lowell's best Chinese food restaurant. Dine in for "funny" service. "What you want?" Still a language politeness barrier I suppose. Different cultures. Not the fanciest place so ambience brings it down a little. Bar is always rowdy. They make stiff drinks. The menu is still affordable if you order what you're gonna finish. PuPu platters w fried rice is the way to feed your crew.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in lowell beacause they have scorpion bowls & they taste great the employees are very friendly and take good care of the customers..... the establishment is child friendly they have high chairs available.... the tvs always haave the latest sports on above the bars but i had the family with me so i sat in the restaurant section the food is delicious im not a big Chinese eater so im very limited on what i can offer you for reviews as far as food but i did try the lo mein and me and my daughter enjoyed them!

Yelp
I'm leaving this review after my second time eating food from here. Both times I had it delivered from GrubHub. Their food is AMAZING. I've had a lot of their food, so I'll just mention my favorites (which is hard, because it's all good). From the standard menus I've enjoyed both sushi and chow fun (flat noodles, my favorite). Their sushi is creative and flavorful, and they have so many options, it'd be hard to find some you don't like! The flat noodles are just as flavorful and I've enjoyed them with beef and shrimp. I think my favorite was the beef. They serve pretty big portions, yet I always want to get way more than I can eat in one sitting! Off of their Authentic Chinese Food menu, I've deeply enjoyed their cooked Beef Tendon and their Salt and Pepper Calamari. The beef tendon is loaded with so much flavor that the first bite will not taste the same as the last bite (right before you swallow). The flavors are melded so well it's a fantastic journey worthy of Ratatouille-style imagery. The Salt and Pepper Calamari was delicious, but tasted more like the spicy chilis used rather than salt and pepper. It also is not crispy, but I felt the texture lended itself to the flavor. Overall, my least favorite- but that isn't saying much since I would order it over and over again! Please consider ordering from Mandarin Asian Bistro the next time you're craving good Asian food!

Yelp
I ordered from Mandarin last night as they are expensive and I only do it once in a while. I got a general gau dinner that comes with rice and i said crab rangoon as my app. In the comments box I said add 1 eggroll as they have a disclaimer that says if you add extra of anything you may be charged for it. Cool fine I wanted it anyway. Order arrives. No eggroll. I call the restaurant. The girl is like oh you ordered a dinner, shes confused about the eggroll. Not sure who she went back and talked to but she comes back tells me they can see it on the order. Confirming this does transmit to the restaurant mind you. Tells me 1. We have spring roll not egg roll. And 2. Unless you physically order it as a line item, they're not gonna include it. I said well first of all it doesn't say that on the website it says I might be charged for it which was perfectly fine so you should've picked up the phone and called me and we could've handled it and I could've paid for it. Whatever she goes. Oh well I wasn't aware of the situation. Then she goes. It's just better to call the restaurant so we can make any adjustments. They can physically read it on the paper, and they purposely chose to mess up my order and not tell me about it and not to mention they didn't even include a little complementary condiment package where you got your mustard your duck sauce some soy sauce, a fork absolutely nothing!! I got one little packet of soy sauce and one little packet of the orange sweet sauce. not even a single duck sauce for my rice or my crab Rangoon's. This was horrible service and the fact that they acknowledged it over the phone and did absolutely nothing about it. I will not be ordering from them on a Saturday. They're pretty pricey like I said, and they can't even include complementary sauces??? What is this BS??? You want to have high prices and bad service that's just not OK. Plain ignorance and laziness is what I experienced last night. The food might be good but the service sucks.

Yelp
I ordered dinner here the other night based on the reviews I read here, and was totally unimpressed. Never thought I would be comparing something to the joint around the corner from our old home in Dorchester and finding the joint to be superior, but there you go. Ordered some very traditional (sweet and sour chicken, lo mein, egg foo yung) and some more mainstream (spicy salted calamari), and only the lo mein stood out as okay. The calamari was particularly awful, and the sweet and sour and foo yung were both served with tubs of clear, cornstarch "gravies" that were just nasty. If this place merits 4-star ratings, I despair of finding decent food in our new home in the 'burbs. Not to mention we paid more than $60 for this dreck. We'll be trying the dumpling place on Market next, and hope for better results.

Yelp
This is how my Tataki arrived at my house. Not only did they forget the ginger slices and wasabi I had ordered, but the fish looked spoiled and it looked like they threw it in a blender before it arrived at my house. Keep in mind I live right up the street, so given that it is very alarming. Buyer beware. They just want your money and don't care about what product or service you get.

Yelp
Randomly picked this place for takeout during the Chinese New Year. I was pleasantly surprised by the food. They have both Americanized Chinese and some signature traditional Chinese dishes such as Sichuan Chili Fish. Quality was good. They also have desserts which is not typical. The tiramisu was delicious. Looking forward to ordering more from this place.

Yelp
One of my favorite place to get the combo plate. (Pick 3 & come with rice/fried rice) Huge portion for only $14. They always hook me up with the chili oil too. I usually order from here at least twice a month... or more. Lol.

Yelp
I added a special thing to their menu! Try the Fried Chicken Wings tossed in General TSO sauce! THank Me Later! And what a great staff!

Yelp
This place serves both Chinese and Japanese cuisine. I tried a combo platter with general gau's chicken, pork fried rice and chicken fry (it's about $12) . The food was good , I liked the pork fried rice and generate gau's chicken more than the chicken wings. The ambience was great. Not crowded at all. There service was very prompt and the staffs were very courteous. Looking forward to having a nice dinner again.Maybe will try some Japanese food next time.

Yelp
After returning from Europe, we were craving Chinese food so I did research on Yelp to find an Asian restaurant that offers authentic dishes. For drinks, they had beer, wine, sake, cocktails, and Coca Cola beverages. I wasn't in the mood for an alcoholic beverage so I ordered a Shirley Temple. For appetizers, we shared Crab Rangoon, Scallion Pancake, and Agedashi Tofu. The Crab Rangoon consisted of eight pieces of deep fried rangoon filled with cream cheese and imitation crabmeat, The rangoon's skin wasn't very crispy and the filling was cream cheese heavy. The Scallion Pancake consisted of crispy, flavorful, not too doughy pieces of dough stuffed with scallion. It was served with a sweet brown vinegar and scallion dipping sauce. The Agedashi Tofu consisted of deep fried, fresh bean curd served light tempura sauce and bonito flakes. In between appetizers and entrees, we shared West Lake Soup, which consisted of a seasoned broth with minced beef, egg whites, scallion, and parsley. In addition to the soup, we shared two dinner entrees Crispy Walnut Shrimp and Sautéed Shanghai Bok Choy with Garlic. The Crispy Walnut Shrimp consisted of heavily battered butterfly shrimp topped with mayonnaise sauce, candied walnuts, and chilled canned pineapple chunks, and served with blanched broccoli. The Sautéed Shanghai Bok Choy with Garlic was just as how I would have expected it to be. We were so full that there was no dessert in the horizon.

Yelp
This is our absolute favorite spot to get food in Lowell. The delivery is always correct and fast. Plenty of vegan options for us. If we ever have company, they're able to order their meat options simultaneously and everyone is happy. Fantastic food and great people.

Yelp
First time here. Mandy greeted us and made us feel right at home. Food was excellent drinks outstanding. Just a great experience.

Yelp
We have ordered from this place one other time & it was good but...last time the owner told us it would be better for her if we ordered directly through her website so she gets all the money. So...I try, three times, to place the order & all three times, the web page closes out after I hit the place order button. I'm nice enough to call & let her know and at this point was not going to place the order. She then talks me into still placing the order promising to have it out to me in 20 to 30 minutes. About 40 minutes later, the driver, who barely speaks a DROP of english, calls me & tells me to open the door, he's here. Ok, so I open the door...and wait, and wait...and wait. I call him back & again, can't understand his response. So I wait some more. Finally I call the owner back. Ohhhhh he went to the wrong address...alrighty then, glad we stood at the door & let all my heat out because he was "here" with no call back. And PLEASE by all means, don't offer me a credit or anything for all my aggravation. So, now, let me get to the food. NASTY. Period. The chicken fingers were so overdone, I couldn't even bite through them. Three of us had chicken fingers, so that's 1/3 of all the 3 meals we could not eat. The crab rangoon were good but that was seriously the only thing. The Peking ravioli were dry & over cooked. The spareribs were sitting in a tub of grease. My son is now lying in bed with a severe stomach ache & I can't even call them back for a refund because I'm just THAT DISGUSTED. Never again! That app I just downloaded for her restaurant is going in the trash with all this food. You want my business...learn how to be a business owner then. There are SO MANY Chinese & Japanese restaurants in the area...for your own mental & physical well being, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere!

Yelp
First off, I never ate the food, so I can't comment on that. I ordered from North Billerica, I was very surprised they delivered to there but I found online that they travelled to many different towns. It took 2 hours to get to me. I called about 1.5 hours into my order and was told they were "on their way". Another 30 minutes later it arrived, missing half the items. (Ordered 6 items, received 3). I ended up calling back and asking for my money back. After waiting 2 hours to receive only half my order, I was frustrated and had lost my appetite. They were very nice and apologetic, and refunded my money without hesitation. I think they should stop spreading themselves so thin with delivery, maybe just stick to closer proximity to lessen delivery time.
google avatar

Rene M.

Yelp
They have good food . The chicken wings and fried rice is what I usually get . The employees aren't too friendly .
google avatar

Sean R.

Yelp
You can tell that the owners here take pride in their food and their restaurant. Fives stars until I get a meal that dictates otherwise. Usually hard to do that from one experience, but the quality here was really good, and we left fat and happy. We had the Peking Ravioli ($6.95) pan fried and split the Peking half duck ($23.95). They were both some of the best I've had, and I have had a lot of Chinese food in my day. The duck was perfect and fresh. Skin was really crispy and the meat was tender not dry. It was served with thinly sliced cucumber, scallion, and warm thin wraps. Top that with a kick ass hoisin sauce and we are talking not your average Thursday lunch! We sat at the bar (note also: strong Mai Tai's $7.50) so we saw a few really good looking dishes coming out of the kitchen. Basically I left thinking about when the next possible socially acceptable time to get Chinese food would be.

Yelp
I don't know how many good things I can say about this place. Our first experience with them was through takeout,we have ordered several times since and never been disappointed. Food light and fresh not like some other Asian style places. Our first dine in was a couple weekends ago and it was superb on every level. Late Sunday afternoon, we were quickly ushered in and we sat at the bar (group of 4). The bartender was so friendly from the get go, and suggested this amazing Sushi not on the menu called "Iron Tuna". WOW. It was like a flavor explosion. Ask for it. I had Wonton Soup and Scallion Pancakes, both were wonderful. Best Wonton Soup I have ever had and best scallion pancakes. (for the record they are just as good ordered as takeout :) My hubs ordered the house lo mein and said it was great. As a drink I ordered a glass of Plum Wine, superb, fresh , sweet and so delicious. We then shared the deep fried ice cream dessert and that was the best one I have had yet. Super good! I love this place and I am so glad they are close by in our very own DTL :) Downtown Lowell is the place to be!

Yelp
We arrived at noon on a Sunday for the all you can eat lunch buffet and we were the only ones there. "Where's the buffet station?" I thought to myself. Apparently, the "all you can eat buffet" is ordered a la carte from the menu and is made to order. On the bright side, everything is fresh but it was not what I was expecting. The buffet menu was very limited only a SMALL fraction of what other similar restaurants like Nana's 7 and Foody Goody offer for their made to order buffets. For apps, we went with Peking ravioli, chicken teriyaki and crab rangoons. We asked for small portions in fear that we wouldn't finish it all. My husbnd went with hot and sour soup and I went with the wonton soup. My soup was very bland. There was a VERY LIMITED selection of maki rolls to choose from. I was so disappointed that there was no Unagi (eel), spicy tuna or Philadelphia roll. The server suggested that I get the Salmon roll and add cream cheese for a 50 cent up charge, so that is what I did. The plate wasn't garnished or presented well. I definitely had the "You get what you pay for" feeling. For entrees, we went with the vegetable lo mein and general gau chicken. The lo mein was greasy but the chicken was tasty. Dessert is included in the lunch buffet price so we opted for fried tempura banana and ice cream. I thought it was weird that they served coffee ice cream in lieu of something more Asian like green tea, coconut or red bean. The buffet was just OK and I think $9.99 is a good price but you can definitely get a better deal at the real lunch buffet at Feng Shui in Chelmford for only a couple bucks more. For food pics, visit http://www.mami-eggroll.com/2015/04/all-you-can-eat-lunch-buffet-at.html

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood, and Mandarin is definitely one of my go-to places. I've had the pleasure of getting to know Sally and Joe over my frequent visits. They're always attentive and friendly. Sally is the type who will almost automatically reach for my favorite beer as I'm walking in the door and have it ready by the time I'm sitting, or will find an extra chair for my partner and I when trying to sit at the bar. They've consistently made recommendations from the menu, and I'm convinced they've even made some dishes for us off menu. While generally opting for sushi, there's quite a great variety in the other dishes on the menu. Some personal favorites are the spicy maki combo, the crispy ribs, and the house special lo mein (always eaten the day after). Finding street parking along market street can be questionable at times, but there's a fairly cheap city lot not that far away. There's quite a few outdoor seats during the warmer months as well.

Yelp
Excellent food, excellent service, music on the weekends. The Peking duck is delicious. Delivery is good also. I'll definitely repeat. :)

Yelp
Outstanding sushi. Rolls run in the $12-$15 range but they are good. Come here for a nice relaxed meal and savor the sushi. The service was very friendly and things came out when ready. So, the shrimp tempura roll was hot! What a concept eh -serving hot food hot! I appreciate it when things are done right. This place is right around the corner from UMass Lowell Conf Center so swing by here for some fresh food. They also have a Chinese menu and the chicken we got was solid. Definitely coming back here if I'm in the area!

Max J.

Yelp
Probably the best reataurant in downtown lowell, Mandarin has a great mix of Chinese and Japanese. The Big Time Maki Roll is always my party'a favorite combining a warm crunchy shrimp tempura with a cold yellowtail jalapeno topping! Order this roll and let your tastebuds thank you after!

Yelp
run, do not walk here. absolutely the best chinese food i have ever had. wow wow!!! we got uber eats and paid for priority - food came hot like they cooked it in the car!! everything was supurb!!!! can't wait to order again!! so fresh

Yelp
This rating is in no way a representation of the food. We have been trying to find a new Chinese take out since moving to Tewksbury. The food was actually quite good. The bad was the estimated 35-45min delivery time. At an hour and 15min, I called to inquire about our order. The female who answered said any minute without asking for our information. Even if our delivery info was linked to our phone number, she never made the attempt to check with the driver. It was an additional 20min before our food arrived. We will try it again, in the hopes of a more accurate delivery time.

Yelp
There dessert is the bomb, I just had the Green Tea Tiramisu, it was delicious! This restaurant is pretty clean & the server is very friendly & nice. It's worth the time to try out this restaurant & experience there Chinese & Japanese cuisines!
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered delivery at 6:43pm. At 7:57 I called to check on the order. No answer. I called again and a woman answered with "are you calling on the delivery?" I said yes. She says "he left 20 minutes ago, ok?" At 8:09, the delivery driver knocks on my door, hands me the food and says "sorry about that, its really busy." They have a $7 delivery fee. I pre-tipped $5 for delivery. The estimated time for delivery is 35-45 minutes. My order arrived 90 minutes after I ordered.

Yelp
Amazing food! Sushi? Amazing! Appetizers? Amazing! Literally everything we have tried on multiple trips to this restaurant has been above expectations! Amazing food and clean environment coupled with fast friendly service! What more can you ask for? Did I mention that this restaurant is amazing? It is! We visit at least weekly and love it!
