Mandarin Grill + Bar

Amazing 5 star experience. Just as expected from MO. Exceptional services and food. Definitely pricey, and fairly so. expect 1500+ and more if you drink alcohol. Prime rib was amazing, thick cut and beautifully flavoured and so so tender. Lobster bisque was tad bit salty, you need bread or a drink to pair. Duck liver was also very thick and juicy yet not overly greasy. P.s. if you order sep menu and tell then you are sharing, you'll see the portions are still very decent size. 2 thumbs up.

We made a last-minute reservation at the Mandarin Grill. Apart from the slight delay due to the credit card guarantee required for booking, everything else was very convenient. We were truly honored to be hosted by Mr. Benson, who was extremely attentive and had such a warm smile. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire dining experience. The dishes recommended by Mr. Benson were absolutely excellent 👍—we particularly loved their all-you-can-eat desserts and would highly recommend the cheesecake and tiramisu, though the other desserts were also wonderful. The most delightful surprise was that even though we hadn’t mentioned it was a birthday celebration, Mr. Benson overheard our conversation and kindly presented us with a birthday cake.

Went to Mandarin Grill with five of us to celebrate two birthdays. We got the three-course meal. Food was okay – the beef tartare and the French blue lobster were nice, my main was fine. They knew it was a birthday, so they did a little something for dessert. But it was kinda weird... instead of putting a name on one of the five desserts we ordered, they just brought out one plate with both names written on it (one side with one name plate) It really shocked us Service was just... meh. The place was packed, so maybe that's why, but no one was really checking on us or seemed to care. To top it off, I got diarrhoea when I got home. Hopefully it wasn't from here..

Food is good but frankly not the best among restaurants of the same league, though I can’t give the reasons. Bread is very good, soup is good, atmosphere is good. Service is generally good but they didn’t say good bye to us at the end.

Finally tried their beef wellington! Taste is good but but it would be even better if the puff pastry is crispier. The portion is quite large. Other dishes are nice too.

We came for Sunday roast over the Christmas break and have been back twice since then. The Sunday roast menu consists of a starter, optional egg dish, main and an array of desserts (you can choose as much or as little as you wish). I highly recommend the salmon as they carve it table side. The steak tartare was also very good with a generous amount of caviar on top. The prime rib roast is carved table side as well and you can ask them for thin or thick cut and the portion is quite generous. I also tried the lamb leg which was cooked really well. By the time you get to dessert you will be quite full, I have tried their apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding both very good.

Exceptional experience from start to finish. The Mandarin Grill and Bar sets the standard for what fine dining service should be: attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. The staff are true professionals. A special shout-out to their wine program. We received excellent wine priming from the team, who helped us select bottles and by-the-glass options that perfectly complemented our meals. The pairings were insightful and elevated the entire dinner. Food was fantastic, but the service and wine are what will bring us back. A must-visit.

The service is exceptionally attentive, and the food is exquisite and truly delicious. There’s a charming bar, separated from the restaurant, perfect for enjoying a drink before dinner. However, I experienced diarrheas a couple of times after dining, which was unfortunate.

Boys , bring your wallets! This place isn't for everyone. It's arguably one of the most expensive bars I've ever been in. But , it's worth every penny. This place bleeds sensuality and class. Unfortunately , I was in a rush and only had time for a few oysters and a glass of champagne. But it's one of the best bars I've ever been in.

This is not what you would expect from a place called bar and grill. The restaurant is run by executive chef Uwe Opocensky, who apparently worked at the famed El Bulli. I rewarded myself with a meal here on my last night in Hong Kong after a week of endless workdays. Took some hyping myself up to dine solo at a Michelin starred restaurant (in Asia, no less, where eating is very much a social event and the judgments passed upon solo diners, especially female diners, would put Mean Girls to shame), but being able to stroll to the restaurant from my room without exiting the building took the edge off. The food was definitely inventive but I am not sure if this is worth the hype. Some parts of it felt gimmicky (fish and chips was good, but for ex., the "petit four" which was a giant chocolate ball meant to imitate the ferrero rocher would never be my choice over an actual ferrero rocher). Service was attentive if a little fussy (I was sent off from dinner by a waiter who wished me a good rest as I looked tired. Valid - I had been working 13+ hour days for a month straight.)

A fine white table cloth dining experience in Hong Kong that is not over hyped or over worked in their menu. Exudes classic favorites in a refreshing new and contemporary presentation while preserving the decadence of the dish. Beautiful ambience that is short changed in HK michelin venues and is just the right amount of space to promote an intimate but ever crowded environment. Helpful and congenial staff. Well executed and beautifully presented courses. Highly recommend for a special occasion in HK that is all about a nice dining experience and quality food in a top notch and convenient venue.

It has been years since I've been back to the Mandarin Grill. It is as high end as it comes & stays in the traditional side. The wait staff listens & hears everything you say & tries to anticipate what you want and the food needs to be & is wonderful. I'm not a wine drinker so I can not opine on their wine list. It's about US$250 per person to start & goes up from there so look for luxury, not value here.

One of the finest place in HK. Chef used to work with El Buli and you can feel it. Eggs & Bacon are excellent and finely prepare in front of view. Duck mixea chinese taste and a western style sobriety. Chocolate soufflé is as good as a soufflé of Closerie des Lilas in Paris. Wine list is very well done. Service is top of the notch.

It was our first time here in years & it was still top notch. The ambience was intimate as there was a lot of space between tables as well as screens between tables to give you more privacy. This is NOT common in HK. The oyster selection was extensive & tasty. The prime rib was excellent & melted in your mouth whilst the Yorkshire pud was enormous. The Oreo dessert was great but make sure you dig to the bottom of the bowl. Service was impeccable as you would expect for the Mandarin. We will be back.

An old world classical ambience with a new world, completely mad and pure genius chef combined with top-shelf service and a most excellent wine list equates to exceptional in our books...no other than the Mandarin Grill! Chef Uwe just keeps on rolling out amazing aromas, textures, creativity and tastes that boggle the mind. We have been visiting since he arrived at the Mandarin Grill, and our only regret is we do not parachute in often enough. The photos demonstrate this fella is always seeking to inspire his clientele to imagine just how much fun a chef can have with food...and the clientele can enjoy with all their senses...and perhaps a few they did not know existed! Ken, the sommelier, is a honest, experienced, friendly and professional sommelier. Each time we visit, we basically indicate some general interests for the evening and then sit back to watch him perform. His honesty, among many positive traits, is overwhelming. If he thinks the wine is not up to par or we will not like it or it does not meet the value proposition we are seeking, then he speaks up. We only wished he could be cloned and worked in every restaurant, well, every where in the world!!! Having said that, his total performance often results in a bit more wine than we usually sip...hiccup...thanks, Ken! The only possible way to enjoy Chef Uwe and Sommelier Ken's performance in an arguably better setting is to visit The Krug Room at the Mandarin Oriental.

Great food that is artistically presented along with great service! Need i say more? Great place for special occasions, birthdays or anniversary.
