"The elegant, relaxing interior, which showcases a happy marriage between East and West, has recently been refurbished to suit the tastes of a younger generation. Its Cantonese fare strikes a balance between tradition and creativity, with timeless classics sitting comfortably next to novel seasonal offerings. The techniques are varied, but always impeccable. The dim sum lunch features exquisite gems; roasted Wenchang Chicken with flaxseeds is also a must-try." - Michelin Inspector

Excellent Service from Eaton||My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou this past May, and our experience was made truly memorable thanks to the outstanding care and professionalism of Eaton, the Assistant Front Office Manager.||Our trip coincided with continuous rain, which put a damper on our plans to explore the city. The hotel was incredibly busy, with long lines at the front desk and concierge, but Eaton noticed us—two older travelers—and went out of his way to step away from the counter and ask if we needed assistance.||We had booked two rooms via American Express, which included a complimentary late checkout until 4:00 PM. During check-in, one receptionist already kindly extended this to 6:00 PM for one room, knowing our flight was in the early hours of the next morning. However, our flight was later delayed to 2:00 AM due to the rain, and we hoped to keep one room until 11:00 PM (for a quiet workspace) by paying a half-day rate. Eaton checked the room availability and explained, with genuine regret, that a full day’s rate would be required for an 11:00 PM checkout because the hotel was nearly fully booked the next day. Instead of leaving it at that, he offered a thoughtful alternative: one room would still enjoy the free 6:00 PM checkout, and my husband and I could pay for two accesses to the Executive Lounge. This allowed us to enjoy the evening cocktail there after 6:00 PM and continue working in the lounge until it closed at 11:00 PM. We happily accepted. Eaton personally showed us around the lounge, introduced us to lounge manager, and ensured all arrangements were smoothly handled.||Though we still felt disappointed about missing out on exploring the city, Eaton went above and beyond to turn things around. Learning we were from Germany, he knew Europeans often enjoy museums, squares, and historic sites. He asked if we’d like to visit the Guangdong Museum and, upon realizing we didn’t know how to book tickets, kindly used our passports to reserve slots via the museum’s app. He even sent the confirmation details to my husband via Airdrop, ensuring we had everything we needed.||Our visit to the museum was extraordinary. We were captivated by the exhibits, including rare Qing Dynasty clocks and imperial artifacts specially transported from Beijing’s Forbidden City—many of which were crafted in Britain, offering a fascinating glimpse into 18th-century China’s connections with the world. We also gained a deep appreciation for Guangdong’s history and culture. It was the perfect ending to a trip that had started with regrets.||A heartfelt thank you to Eaton—a warm, composed, and attentive young man—for going out of his way to make our stay exceptional. Thanks to him, we’ll always remember Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou for its impeccable service and unforgettable experiences.

Our recent stay at the Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou, was nothing short of exceptional, truly epitomizing luxury and personalized service from the moment we arrived. Stepping out of our vehicle around 1:30 PM, we were immediately greeted by welcoming staff, setting the tone for a flawless experience. The check-in process was remarkably swift, followed by a dedicated staff member personally escorting us to our room and thoughtfully highlighting all the amenities—a truly elevated touch. Our children were absolutely thrilled with our family panda-themed room, complete with an exciting slide! It instantly became their favorite part of the hotel, bringing endless joy and laughter to our stay. The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, nestled directly beside Taikoo Hui and just down the street from several other major shopping malls. This prime spot made exploring and indulging in retail therapy effortlessly enjoyable.Within the hotel, right by the entrance, lies a beautiful café – a perfect spot that clearly attracts many sophisticated patrons for high tea, and for good reason. All the cakes are exquisitely crafted, miniature works of art that are as delightful to behold as they are to taste. Our package included breakfast, which was a delightful spread. Beyond the standard international offerings, we were particularly pleased to find wonton noodles being served – a delicious nod to the local Cantonese cuisine, and a truly authentic touch that we thoroughly enjoyed. What truly elevated our experience was the outstanding staff. They were incredibly friendly and engaging, personally interacting with our children, passing them thoughtful door gifts, and even taking the time to write a lovely card and pose for a photo with our little one. This genuine warmth made us feel incredibly valued. As expected with a family-themed room, the kids were showered with special touches. They received their own lanyards with room access, delightful welcome desserts including cakes and candies, fresh fruit juice, and a selection of fruits. These thoughtful details made them feel incredibly special and truly enhanced their stay. The Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou delivered an unparalleled experience of luxury, convenience, and genuine hospitality, making it an ideal choice for families seeking an extraordinary getaway. We can't wait to return!

The hotel was wonderful. The rooms were very spacious and the facilities were also very good (one of the best hotel SPA I have experienced). Also, separately, I want to thank Edward Zhang on the reception. He was extremely professional and went out of his way for the stay to be as relaxing and comfortable, as possible, which was definitely achieved. The concierge team also did a great job and were very helpful with their guidance on locations and restaurants. Overall, this was one of the best hotel experiences despite the weather not being the best.

Deeply impressed by the exceptional service from Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou! Big shout-out to Vito Zhang and Herman (hope I spelled that right). Vito assisted me with my luggage and gave a great introduction to the room. He was warm, professional, and made me feel truly welcome.||At the gym, Herman offered equally outstanding service. He kept the space in perfect condition and was always ready to help with a friendly attitude.||BTW—the hotel itself is perfect 🔥 It’s conveniently located inside the Taikoo Hui complex with a private entrance. You can shop, grab food, and hop on public transportation, all while staying cool in the AC without ever stepping outside. Honestly, a real privilege in 95-degree Guangzhou!

The food here is fine dining and all dishes are awesome. I love the chaoshan vinegar jelly pork trotter. The mud crab egg custard was also another excellent standout dish. The steam yellow croaker is silky and soft that melts in your mouth. Sweet ending come in the form of ginger custard which is out of this world! The service is impeccable with great recommendation from Eason Chan. This is truly a Michelin 2 Star food and service experience.

My stay at Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou was truly elevated by the exceptional service provided by Eaton at the front desk.||Eaton's warmth and attentiveness stood out from the moment I checked in. He took the time to explain the Mandarin Oriental membership benefits in detail, which, although I didn't join this time, gave me a great first impression of the brand's thoughtfulness.||What really made a difference was on my checkout day. Due to my schedule, I needed a bit more time in the room, and Eaton went out of his way to arrange a late checkout until 1:30 PM. His proactive effort to accommodate my request made the end of my stay so much smoother.||Thanks to Eaton, I now have full trust in the Mandarin Oriental brand—his dedication reflects the hotel's commitment to exceptional service. Highly recommend this property, and a big thank you to Eaton for making my stay memorable!

Very disappointed for the most expensive hotel we booked throughout our trip. It did not meet our basic needs for booking a hotel - have a good night sleep.Sound insulation is very poor for hotel like this. I understand the resources and effort put into this hotel designed by well known people, but it is irrelevant when you can hear people talk from either outside or adjoint rooms. It was simply a horrible experience. Hotel that had a much lower rate would be able to achieve better quietness than MO Guangzhou. The air con system plus the quilt provided was horrible. We did not manage to have a good night sleep as it is either too warm or too cold.We did not feel or experience the warmth in service provided either. It is too upper class for our taste for no real benefit. It is one of our regrets to pay for this hotel during our trip.Though it might be an isolated event, we have no faith in MO brand in the future. We had much better experience with St. Regis and Waldorf Astoria.
