This is a top quality 5* hotel that I will definitely be returning to. The rooms are spacious, very luxurious and incredibly comfortable with all the modern additions and updates. The pool area Also spacious with great views over the infinity pool of central KL but incredibly tranquil. Service at all times was excellent in all areas of the hotel. The breakfast restaurant was incredibly well stocked with all breakfast options available no matter your preferences. A wonderful and relaxing place to stay in KL.

The Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur is known for being one of the more affordable MO locations, and while the lower price is reflected in a slight reduction in offerings compared to higher-priced MO properties, it remains a lovely and relaxing place to spend the Christmas and New Year holidays.||We stayed in a Club Patronas Tower View room, which was beautifully appointed. The bathroom felt a bit outdated, but the double doors gave it a classic charm. However, the shower was a letdown—small, with a low showerhead that required me to bend over, making the space feel even more cramped.||The Club facilities were under renovation, so the lounge was relocated to a suite. Unfortunately, the temporary space wasn’t large enough to accommodate the number of guests, and seating was often unavailable, particularly in the evenings. That said, the lounge offerings were strong. Afternoon tea, while not served on a traditional three-tier tray like at MO Hong Kong, was excellent—the green scones were phenomenal and a highlight, even though we rarely attended. Evening cocktails were enjoyable, but the food selection was limited. Champagne was only available from 5–7 PM, unlike the all-day service in Singapore, but it was high quality and generously poured—better than the stingy service at MO Hong Kong, despite the much higher price of their suites.||Breakfast at both the main restaurant and the club restaurant was just average, but the poolside dining stood out. The Malaysian dishes were exceptional, and even international options like nachos and fries were well-executed and reasonably priced. The recently renovated MO Bar, while small and dimly lit, offered fine drinks, with Bollinger served throughout the property.||Overall, this hotel offers excellent value. The service and club room offerings are comparable to MO Hong Kong, despite being significantly more affordable. While it doesn’t quite reach the high standards of MO Singapore, that’s understandable given the price difference. For what it costs, the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur delivers a solid and enjoyable luxury experience.

The Mandarin Oriental is a really lively hotel in the centre of kuala lumper. It is located beside the Petronas towers. I had a view of the towers from my room which I really enjoyed. ||The staff are really helpful, courteous and professional. A special word of thanks to Kiranjit Singh at the Concierge who helped me enormously with a query I had with anothet hotel. He went out of his way to help me by contacting the duty manager of the establishment and resolved the problem of a lost item. I am so grateful to him for helping me locate the lost item. Thank you.||The food was really good at the poolside. The staff at the Aqua bar are just so polite, kind and always smiling. I enjoyed all my meals there. ||Breakfast was also lovely with a great selection on offer. The pain au chocolate was melt in the mouth.||I really recommend this hotel. Brilliant atmosphere, lovely staff and close to everything.

Lovely hotel in older style.|The public areas were very well presented and clean.|All staff were great but special thanks to 2 concierge members ( sorry don’t have their names) who went above and beyond when I had an airport query and made sure my wife and I had suitable support at the airport.|Our room was large as was the bathroom and all toiletries were of high quality.|The pool was of reasonable size but had a large number of sunbeds where towels were readily supplied. It was busy by the pool though at the time we went ( early January 2025).|Breakfast was in a lovely space and all was plentiful and tasty.

Google
Great location but it was a disappointment. The room had serious cleanliness and maintenance issues—the bathroom wasn’t well cleaned, the standing shower had drainage problems, and the pillowcases were stained. The breakfast experience was just as bad. I went in at 7:30 AM, only an hour after opening, and many fruit dishes were already empty. When I asked about replenishment, the staff reluctantly refilled them, which is unacceptable for a five-star hotel. For the price, I expected far better cleanliness, upkeep, and service. Definitely not worth the price premium.

During 2024, I had the blessing to visit Malaysia on three different occasions, for several weeks. The base and home away from home was the Mandarin Oriental, in Kuala Lumpur, where the attention to detail, passion for service, and care displayed by General Manager Mr. Martin Schnider, was peerless in its sincerity, openness, and impact. As I’ve expressed in past occasions, I celebrate his leadership and vision, as well as the excellence further manifested by several of his close collaborators, including Angela Ng and Farah Juliana. In this vein, given a set of dietary conditions associated with my health, I also want to commend the incredibly thoughtful, luminous, and delicious work that the entire team at Mosaic restaurant delivered. The esteemed Chef Zuber, and his caring colleagues Chef Aman and Chef Zhariff, are world-class in all domains: in their care for everyone visiting the restaurant, in their knowledge about how to address dietary allergies, and in their creativity in showcasing their amazing talents via both regional and international cuisine. This all makes for an unforgettable space, one that forges true friendship/family, given their generosity of heart and wisdom. This is not only my sense and experience, but that of every Malaysian friend and colleague who came to visit me and shared meals at Mosaic, and who praised the excellence of the ingredients, the rich flavors combined, and the luminosity of the service. Though I’ve made sure to take a mental note of an array of collaborators that made my visits to Mosaic restaurant ever memorable, I am sure I’ve forgotten names in the list assembled: the amazing Nadia, Farah, Haidi, Muhain, Nurfarhan, Aziz, and Haiqal, producing marvels in the Kitchens, the welcoming Regina, in management, the ever gracious and joyous Wati, Shahaizal, Yeop, Anuar, and Yuli, in Floor Leadership, the attentive and caring Zuri, Reyad, Syaidatol, Ikmal, Azuan, Mamun, Mazun, Keshav, and Farhan, in Table Pick Up and Tea, and the organized and upbeat Paramakura, Shazwani, Alycia, Bakely, and Habibah at the check-in desk of the restaurant, and Alamin in room cleaning. In my next review (for my upcoming visit later in 2025), I will make sure to list the many more great souls whose names I am blinking on, including an array of thoughtful and caring bell hops and front desk team members (as well as room cleaning staff, including Alamin). My sincere hope is that 2025 brings tremendous health, joy, and happiness to such a special community of professionals who are edifying and warm in heart and soul. May blessings come in all aspects of life to you and your loved ones, and thanks again to the leadership of MOKUL for your drive and sustained success!

Google
Good location, but really is a 3-4 star hotel with a five star price tag. It is too poorly maintained to be worth the price - just go to W or Four Seasons instead, or save the money and go to somewhere half the price for a likely better experience Got stuck in the elevator with four others which took almost half an hour to open, and when we were stuck in the lift they were just focused on getting our room numbers - how is that relevant? I have never been stuck in an elevator that long and of all places it’s this hotel The shower knob dropped out when I was using it (and this was in one of the better rooms), the furnishing is dated, the carpet is old and concierge takes a long time to respond Offered a small cake as compensation at the end during check out. Joke of a hotel

Google
Had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The property seamlessly blends traditional luxury with modern touches. A special shout out to the guys at the pool who went above and beyond to look after us, and also the house keeping team for keeping everything spotless

Yelp
The food at the buffet was great, they have fresh seafoods, meat etc. The hotel's room service was also good, beds comfy, washroom and room was also very clean. Overall, would recommend to stay there if you want to explore Kuala Lumpur.

Yelp
I'm so glad to have stayed here during my trip with my family. It's conveniently located and they have a freaking amazing breakfast buffet spread that's worth it! I won't go into details of how much food we ate but it was amazing and there's something for everyone. We also loved their specialty coffee which I don't even remember what it's called but we just asked the barista for what is known in Malaysia and he delivered! LOVED IT! We ended up getting some comps due to us booking though Amex Platinum which covered our breakfast for 2 adults and 1 kid for 3 days. AND we had 4 complimentary drinks tickets on top of that. Although the rooms were not as modern, it was nice and clean. We also had a beautiful view of the Patronas Towers so not sure what's on the other side. The staff is super friendly and responsive. I highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
The Mandarin is part of the Fine Hotel collection and glad we picked this one. Location was amazing. The staff are very nice and welcoming. While the rooms are a bit outdated, the bathroom door doesn't make sense... might have lost its charms... but the breakfast buffet is worth it! The selection is outstanding! We enjoyed every single breakfast we had there, especially the teh and specialty coffee! The rooms are comfortable and we made it work with 2 twin beds for a family of 3. We had amazing views of the Patronas Towers and each night we wave goodnight... Our currency went far in KL, so we took Grab (their Uber) everywhere. Fantastic value!

Yelp
We were recently in Malaysia for a month. This is a beautiful hotel and service was top notch. We made the reservation through one of their sales representatives Jiaying. She is amazing. Because we were there for a month we got a break on the rates. When we arrived they had a car pick us up from the airport. It took about an hour to get to the hotel. Upon arrival we were checked in with no fuss. We had a room facing the twin towers up in the club floors. You can have breakfast on the 24th floor or at their Mosaic restaurant downstairs which offers a great array of foods from Chinese, Malaysian, English, and Arabic. They have a great Egg station. My favourite is the Nasi Lemak and their Kaya Buns in the Asian section. You can also have an array of goodies on the Club floor for tea-time from 2:30-4:30 and cocktails from 5-7pm. They serve from Chinese, Indian, Malaysian, or Western food during the cocktail hour. There are some great restaurants too. We celebrated my mother's 90th birthday at La Po Heen - a Chinese restaurant. We had dinner at The Mandarin Grill. They have a great pool on the 3rd floor. Try their Durian Ice Cream by the pool - yummy. You are allowed 5 pieces of laundry everyday per room on these executive floors. When we left the staff gave us a lovely send off with gifts and waving us goodbye as we drove off in a car that they arranged for us.

Yelp
The hotel is in a great location next to coffee shops, restaurants, big mall, and a park with a lake. The staff are great and will bend over backwards to assist. Our room was very nice and the bed was so comfortable.

Chantelle V.

Yelp
I stayed here for 10 days to attend a conference at the convention center next door. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They will go out of their way to assist when possible. I had to purchase dessert for a family dinner while in KL and they helped me find what I needed at the MO cake shop in the bar area. The breakfast buffet is lovely, and they make a good cappuccino. I hope to be back some day.

Yelp
Don't get me wrong, the Mandarin Oriental is a beautiful hotel. In general, the staff are lovely, attentive, and helpful. And the breakfast is well worth the investment... But never in my life have I experienced such blatant sexism as I did here, by the concierge of all people! I was quoted double the price, of my husband, for a cab. Then our friend, another woman, was quoted 4x the price! I was blown away. I think I still am.

Yelp
Came here to enjoy the buffet brunch which was spectator. Service was superb and be expected for a high caliber establishment, food was fresh and well presented. Highly recommend making reservations in advance as this buffet is quite popular.

Selene W.

Yelp
I stayed here early November 2022, and it was wonderful. The dinner and the breakfast buffets are top quality, with several stations and chefs on stations preparing made to order dishes. The staff was highly attentive and mindful. Rooms were beautifully appointed with both modern and rustic artwork and fixtures that bring an old world charm to the space. We had a view of the towers, which was breathtaking. The location was also perfect, as it's next to a wide variety of restaurants and shopping. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Yelp
This hotel is a great value if your staying in Kuala Lumpur. This was our 3rd stop on the trip and we had already stopped over at MO, Singapore before arriving to this hotel. Location is next of Petronas twin towers and KLCC mall. Lots of tourist attractions are close by and walkable distance to KL tower. It looked like Mandarin had just gone under hotel room renovation & spa area. New rooms are elegant and spacious, comfortable beds and the service was excellent. The staff are all so helpful. Prices are good for a genuine 5 star hotel right in the heart of KL. They also offered best restaurants like Chinese cuisine ,international buffet, Japanese restaurant, M.O bar, pool side aqua restaurant, Grill restaurant. This time around I upgraded to club suites room as they offered plenty of extra perks. The package included afternoon tea and cocktails during early evening on level 24. Club lounge was very cosy and services at its best with fantastic views of KL City. Breakfast on level 24 was very good too. Staff at front desk & Concierge were friendly. It's nice that concierge provides travel information to us before arrival. Overall speaking, the service is better than Mandarin Oriental Singapore. Staff at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur are more humble & they are willing to serve. They also provided celebratory gifts to us during our stay. Thank you mandarin oriental KL for the pleasant experience!

Yelp
Fantastic Hotel and Service. I did not recognize a fruit. Employee took the trouble to show me on wiki what this fruit is. Salak fruit. Mr Toby Chin & Mr Gerard from Front desk, went over and above their duty by providing excellent service. Please keep it up. Keep me posted on Specials for next year. Wish they had Live Music in lobby.

Yelp
Ordered a Banana Split from room service. Absolutely awesome. Check out the pic!! Now THAT is a Banana Split.

Cindy C.

Yelp
Came to stay here because my dad wanted to come. 20 years ago, when he came to KL to visit. He saw this beautiful hotel next to park, so he asked if we can stay there this time... so here we go. But while coming here, the driver said why not grand Hyatt? He said MO nowadays is just okay. He was right!! The hotel room isn't super clean. The safe has crumbs in it and it has a funky smell. Also, the rack inside the shower is rusty and not super clean. It does bother me! :( Also we got here at 3:50pm, we checked in but our room wasn't ready. They asked us wait in the lobby till 4:30. But they check in time was earlier right?! Hmmm

Michael C.

Yelp
My lord!!!!!....how great is this place! First of all the sales manager is a god send. She was thoughtful, made me feel right at home and treated me like a lifelong friend. Our room was an executive suite and it was stunning and borderline extravagant. It had floor to ceiling Windows on two walls overlooking downtown Kuala Lumpur. The hotel service was definitely 5 star and I felt like royalty. The attention to detail and the worry free atmosphere really went a long way. I actually cancelled a reservation at the Hilton to stay here two more days. The restaurant: Chef Benjamin is top notch. He is the head chef at the Mandarin grill and prepared my wife an I a chefs table 10 course meal that blew us away! He came out with every course and described what we were going to be eating. The meal came with alcohol pairings as well as utensil pairings for each course. The service was very attentive without being annoying. The ambiance and artwork in the place was stellar and it couldn't have been any better. One of the best dining experiences I've had. With a name like Mandarin Grill I really did not expect the type of food or the quality of service I received. It was really a welcomed surprise! Not so humbly submitted, King Michael C.

Yelp
Malaysia review #8 During our visit to Kuala Lumpur, we were fortunate enough to stay at the Mandarin. Boy I'll tell you, there's nothing like a 5 star hotel to make you feel really special! Customer service is key and they do everything they can to make sure their guests are always happy! Each one of the staff we encountered were VERY polite and friendly. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/mandarin-oriental-kuala-lumpur?select=A3tCCJZRTTA9TRYroipplA My ex bro-in-law used to work for the Mandarin as an architect, so he was able to get us into the upgraded Club Rooms at VERY nice discount. Complimentary benefits of the Club Rooms include access to the very nice Club Lounge where you will find: Breakfast, weekday lunch, afternoon tea and evening cocktails! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/mandarin-oriental-kuala-lumpur?select=Xcoikj-DDs-vugZmsyduPA In-room benefits are Wi-Fi and dry cleaning for 5 items per day. One unique thing about booking a Club Room is, when you arrive you bypass the front deck completely and go directly to the Club floor to check in there. WOW! We get our key and go to our room, it's very nice and we have a great view of the Petronas Towers too! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/mandarin-oriental-kuala-lumpur?select=E0rVqqTqe0Vg4cf4sJivaQ http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/petronas-twin-towers-kuala-lumpur?select=P5dfqIt1FuwD3wvek3I2Pg A very nice surprise was this beautiful bowl of fruit waiting for us when we walked in! It was delicious! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/mandarin-oriental-kuala-lumpur?select=UI4nbZarj4fldIVtnEd5fg This location also has 5 very nice restaurants, 3 bars / lounges and a cake shop which has, as I'm sure you can guess, cakes, desserts and other wonderful treats. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/mandarin-oriental-kuala-lumpur?select=Etyf-chKxr0CJ5bUtEN4dg Of course there is also a pool, gym facilities and a spa to really pamper yourself. OVERALL: Staying in a luxurious 5 star hotel and taking advantage of all they have to offer, is a wonderful treat I'm rarely able to experience. Hopefully I will be able to experience this again soon!

Bevene B.

Yelp
The hotel is centrally located next to the KLCC and Petronas twin towers. The staff are good and the service in the restaurant and the concierge was superb. The front desk/reception was substandard and the housekeeping was terrible. The rooms are dated and needs to be renovated. Perhaps this is the reason the housekeeping staff seems loathe to clean. Gym is very good and has modern equipment

Madison H.

Yelp
A five star experience from an awesome hotel. From the moment you walk in the lobby, you know you are in a luxury hotel. Service is impeccable and the and rooms are superb. We checked in a few hours prior to our check-in time with no issue and checked out late with no additional fees. The rooms are fantastic - well maintained, very clean, and equipped with everything you need. The hotel also features an awesome spa and pool. It is reasonably priced considering the high quality of this hotel. The location is perfect, situated next to the park with great views of the Petronas Towers. Additionally, the brunch is one of the best brunches I have every experienced. The food is amazing and the service is excellent. If you're visiting KL, you need to stay at this hotel. You will not regret it!

Anne J.

Yelp
Sometimes I love my job, and other times I REALLY LOVE my job. I am the luckiest girl on the planet. My job sends me to incredible corners of our planet and allows me to experience exciting cultures and visit some amazing and beautiful spot. While doing so, our team does their best to put me up in some of the best hotels they can find. The Mandarin Oriental in Kuala Lumpur is not exception, the hotel is one of the finest properties I have ever encountered. The service is impeccable with attention paid to every single detail. If you are on a budget, this is probably not the hotel for you. But if feel like treating yourself, I highly suggest checking this place out.

Ayah A.

Yelp
Lovley hotel we had banana split in the cafe located in the lobby and great service , cappuccino was good too

Masha M.

Yelp
We got an amazing view to the twins tower, a friendly atmosphere and a kind attention from the staff. It was a pleasure to stay in the hotel during our vocation in Koala Lumpur.

Anna A.

Yelp
One of the more prestigious hotels in KL City Centre, the Mandarin Oriental oozes luxury the minute you step into the lobby. At my previous job I attended many functions here and always loved the food and conference rooms. I have also attended many many wedding held in the ballroom where again, the food was excellent. During Christmas last year my entire family (Mum, Dad, sisters and my own husband and kids) stayed in one of their 3-bedroom apartments for a night. It was a beautiful and comfortable room and the bathroom was huge. We ordered room service which, although understandably pricey (it IS a 5-star hotel after all!) was delicious and served by two polite wait staff. My only complaint is a small one: the trash can in the kitchenette was full to the brim and hadn't been emptied when we checked in so we had to wait a bit for housekeeping to deal with that. But all in all, we had an enjoyable stay and this is definitely one of my favourite hotels in Kuala Lumpur.

Kevin W.

Yelp
Being a journalist has its perks sometimes and one of it, is the opportunity to have free meals at the top hotels in the city. Just recently, I was given an event to cover at Mandarin Oriental Hotel, KL and I was jumping for joy that lunch was provided! Hard work do pay off! It was a formal event, with proper table seating arrangement and with number of VIPS attending. That made me think the food will have to be a certain standard to meet the requirement of the VIPS. To much of my joy, it was a buffet. Inside me, I was jumping out for joy. Trying not to be distracted with the food, it was difficult to pay attention to what was going on. I kept looking at my watch, anxiously waiting for brunch and as the moment the event ended the crowd rushed towards the back to get their food. I decided to wait a little for the crowd to die down. I went one round to observe what food were served. To my delight, all seemed delicious and it truly was. With this, I would want to try the actual buffet the hotel serve on another. But it will have to wait when my next salary is out for the next time, it will not be a free lunch.

Yelp
Enjoyed a great afternoon high tea with family last weekend but here a tips, even u r so much desperate craving for French fries, just don't , it's really doesn't worth a penny

Jelena Z.

Yelp
The Mandarin Oriental in Kuala Lumpur is truly a first-rate hotel, and you'll recognize this as soon as you enter the property. Staying here was definitely a treat for me. You see, I normally wouldn't get to stay in a property this luxurious whilst traveling for business, but the 5-star hotel segment is considerably less expensive in KL. I regularly spot special rates between $170-190 USD at this particular property. Score! The lobby is quite grandiose with all of its marble, and the color scheme feels quite sophisticated with liberal doses of black, cream, and gold hues. The hotel houses several restaurants and a moon cake shop (yep, it's an Asian thing). There's also a spa should you care to indulge in a massage, facial, or luxe pedicure. I didn't spend too much time in my hotel room, but I really looked forward to returning in the evenings and enjoying my stunning view of the Petronas Towers. Seriously, it felt like they were in my room! Upon check-in, I was upgraded to a room with a park and Petronas view without asking. I'd advise booking your room directly via Mandarin Oriental's website as that's the only way to get free wi-fi and probably an upgrade. I usually use Hotels.com as I earn one free night for every 10 stays, but free wi-fi warranted I book directly via the Mandarin. And I'm so happy I did! Excellent customer service all around, from check-in to check-out. The property's location next Suria KLCC Mall is super convenient if you've neglected to pack something. I'll certainly look forward to staying here again!

Patience G.

Yelp
Aziamendi88 presentation is nice, lunch menu is short and sweet. The Grilled tuna is nice but the lamb shoulder is better. Overall service is good.. My star rating is for the floor staff. Whether or not my experience felt the Michelin star? It was a big NO.

Vivian Y.

Yelp
Mandarin oriental is absolutely amazing. They have such a good view of the city, the room would be perfect for New Year's Eve for the firework display in the city. It's very expensive, it's starting price for a normal room is about 700rm. It also is linked to KLCC and the Suria KLCC mall but the rooms are very nicely furnished. The housekeeping is amazing, they would pass extra towels if needed. Everything is basically on par to a five star hotel. They would definitely maintain a good reputation if they keep this up. There are also restaurants at the hotel to keep you fed if you need a nice meal.

Vanessa O.

Yelp
I was fortunate to be given a chance to spend a night here and I was extremely delighted! The rooms are really pretty and I fall in love with it almost immediately. It is a five star hotel after all!! The facilities are absolutely fantastic, doesn't matter it is in the room or out of the room. You can hardly find anything to complain about this place to be honest with you. This hotel is located in Jalan Pinang just right next to the Petronas Twin Towers. Its strategic location has given this hotel an absolute advantage to have tourists or business people to stay here. Although everything seems fantastic, the room rates are not included Wi-Fi and breakfast. If you needed the Wi-Fi, you will have to stay at the Club Floor. Breakfast can be extensive but you will have to pay at least RM88++ for a meal here.

Patrick M.

Yelp
Upon my visit at the Mandarin, after great Experience in the Barcelona hotel I went for a tea and the famous macarons. They macarons were old and sticky. Not fresh and crispy as they should be. I requested a wifi code at the staff and duty manager to share picture of the beautiful lobby but that was denied. I had to buy a wifi code at the shop. In the Barcelona hotel it's alway given complimentary. Strange that one brand has different guidelines and that a 5-star hotel lets the guest pay for wifi.

Guoliang F.

Yelp
Extremely poorly managed! They kept me waiting for more than 3 hours to clean the room before I can have a rest. Actually, idbrather go back to Singapore to take the rest instead of wasting the time for these junk to kill my life

Julie Y.

Yelp
As a five star hotel, Mandarin Oriental delivers quality in all areas. There are two parking areas - the basement parking which costs RM12 and the outdoor carpark which costs RM10. The outdoor carpark is sometimes a little dodgy as it's not well lighted and it can be dangerous especially for girls. I've attended a few events held at the Diamond Ballroom which is relatively small in size. The food prepared was beautifully put together and presented. The washroom is also located next to the ballroom which is convenient for guests. The hotel takes on a rather lavish decadent theme as its interior is furnished with heavy gold accents and dark wood. Personally I prefer minimalist hotels with lighter colour palette. The standard rooms are regular in size but if you're unlucky you may just get a view of a construction site.
