Don't like doing this, I know they're local. Let the first time slide but this is bogus and I don't want anyone else going thru it. Website says open, online platform accepting orders. I place my order, walk over and theyre closed. How's the food? I got a turkey club the first time and it had one slice of turkey in it. I'm like damn times are tough lol

had the most amazing breakfast for lunch here today. eggs and bacon aren’t are simple as they sound. this place is awesome.

Delicious. My first time here and I'm very happy with the bacon cheeseburger and fries. The burger has that 'made on a well loved grill' taste. And they put a pickle spear on it! A SPEAR! The prices seem super reasonable and I'll definitely be ordering from this mom and pop shop again soon.

Damn...I don't want to do this because this has been a go-to for years. In fact, I thought food improved with the new owners -- until today. I ordered a patty melt. They used to do a really solid version. Today? It was a burger patty between two ends (heels) of a loaf of lightly toasted white bread. Onions were lightly cooked but not caramelized. It was gross. I get that times are hard on business but they are hard for me, too. Ya'll wasted my money. Not returning.

Absolutely love this place! Tried a handful of breakfast items and they are all yummy. My coworkers have tried some of their lunch items as well which they said were good too. Love the food and amazing prices

This is the worst place I have ever been to. This is the 2nd time I have came to this place and the lady in the front with the glasses doesn't know what she is doing. She charges me 14.00 for food when I was only supposed to be charged 4.70. Then instead of telling me she made a mistake, she calls the cook to do a refund an some how put a lock on my card. This is not the first time an I should of known better. On top of the fact that this place is always dirty. I have to tell them to always use gloves when handling food. The prices are nuts an with them charging the prices they do at least fix the place up. I gave a 1 star but it is a negative 1 star. Oh an the last time I order breakfast tell me why they didn't add the bacon, then when I call to complain the husband and the wife look like deer in head lights. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!

You know what, it was all right. Grabbed a togo bag of two M&G Burgers (fried egg and bacon) and some fries, no not both for me, before walking to Timber Lanes... tasty. Good price, seem to do a peppy take out. Will be back

I love this place and have been going here for years. I miss not being able to grab a quick bite to eat during COVID, but their online ordering and pickup is top notch, efficient, and quick. Same friendly service and food while picking up take away as you get back when we could eat in a restaurant like this. It appears to be a family business and they're always pleasant. Good sized portions. Food is always very good and consistent. The Greek chicken wrap is my favorite. I also really like their chili.

M & G's is what it portrays itself to be: a mom n' pop joint that serves diner food. The burgers, Mexican food, and breakfast are exactly what you think you're going to get for under $10. The gyro plate is pretty good too. I typically order the breakfast burrito with either chorizo or bacon (sometimes both) about 2-3 times a week. It's the most complete breakfast burrito I can get in a 3 miles radius: slightly crispy flour tortilla, potato, American cheese, grilled onion + peppers, meat, egg and a side of medium spicy house made salsa. For $5.50, it's everything I need it to be at a great price.

Best meal you can get for $6 in this neighborhood by a long shot. Quick, friendly service, good variety and great prices. You really can't find anything better at the price point, excellent value

This is a small little restaurant by the brown line, they offer a bunch of different options, for lunch or breakfast! There are a few tables to sit and eat as well. I got the double cheese burger and a side of fries. Both were really good and I would definitely come back! I believe they close a bit early so you wouldn't be able to pick up food for dinner.

Say what you want about burgers from trendy restaurants where people stand in line to pay a lot of money to say they ate one, there is NO BETTER burger than one from a grill or a diner and M & G makes great burgers. I have no idea what all was in it but I like to order the signature dish anywhere so i went for it. The burger had that wonderful char you only get from a grill. There was lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion, bacon, and I believe, a fried egg. It was great and really hit the spot on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Fries were nice and salty and crisp and it's been ages since I had a great milkshake. I had the chocolate and they use vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup to make the shake so it has that great chocolatey flavor without it being so heavy it weighs you down. Been wanting to go here for a long time and consider me a future returning customer and a fan!

VERY RUDE!! I had been going here almost everyday for the past few months. One day I went in with a few friends, and I was shocked by how rude the guy was towards me. After giving us our food first, I waited several minutes after asking for water. When he still did not bring it, I went up and asked for it again, when he told me to go sit down. As I didn't want to finish my whole meal by the time the water came, I stayed there. Literally a few seconds later, he yelled at me in frustration to go sit down. I was very shocked and disgusted. A few minutes later he finally brought the water. My friends and I had already finished our meal. On top of that, the water was warm, without one ice cube. It is SAD AND EMBARRASSING the way this place treats LOYAL CUSTOMERS. Not cool.

My first yelp review! I've ordered from them in the past but today I open my bread and there's mold! How disgusting, this should never be an issue. I contacted grubhub and they helped me get $3 back for the polish but I think I should've had all my money back for the other things I ordered because I didn't even want to touch anything else. I don't understand how they didn't see this!

For what this place is and claims to be--it is a 5 star place. The price for breakfast is at least 50 percent cheaper than other restaurants in the area and is just as good for a basic (eggs/bacon/sausage/hashbrowns) breakfast as anywhere. The Mexican fare is at least at the 3.5 star level while trad. Chicago fare like Polish sausage is 4 star. The prices are reasonable on all. We need more places like this around.

The tex mex skillet is my go to at M & G. It comes with eggs, hasbrowns, peppers, tomatoes, and onions. You get two slices of toast on the side also. It is plenty of food to fill you up. I'd definitely recommend that entree and to come try out M & G.

The menu is large. The restaurant is tiny. And the food is cheap. I don't think a resistant can do a large menu well unless they do huge volume. So I believe the food here is hit or miss. Everything from breakfast to gyros, grilled cheese, chicken sandwiches and Mexican food. Every sandwich is under $5 without exception! Te gyros were good but couldn't tell if fresh. The Italian beef was not good and definitely not fresh. Fries were fine. Two employees, maybe a husband and wife, take your order and prepared it. Very convenient if ou live near Irving park brown line as it is just under the tracks. Glad it's here as an option but can't imagine it being something I crave going forward. Convenient, cheap, good enough.

I only got a hot dog. It was $2. It was worth that price. Place is kinda nasty in a way you'd want a place that sells cheap American food. Only one guy was working there so it took a while to get the dog. I'm not sure I'll come back here. Maybe for a breakfast sandwich, those looked pretty good and it's right by the Brown line stop.

I suspect the lighter 4 oz. patty when ordering the double. But their Double Burger with American cheese (extra $0.35) is fit for a revelatory, clean-hand, jheri-curl hit-man. M&G offers a couple of other beef meat upgrades, while the signature M G Burger costs as much as my favorite: Rare-med Double Burger w/ (raw) onions, pickles, lettuce, mayo, and tomatoes (mushrooms if i'm fancy). The aroma filled delivery bag usually arrives within 10 minutes. They may have the best fast food burger in the area (irving park brown line). The curly fries are pretty damn good too.

I asked the owner how long they had been in business thinking they had just recently opened. Turns out they have been open for over a year and I just overlooked it. Conveniently located right across from the Irving Park Brown Line is the Char Grill. I enjoyed a cheeseburger and fries that competed well with Mangi's which is around the corner. They have a wide variety from breakfast, hot dogs and burgers to a few Mexican cuisine selections. I look forward to checking them out again in the future.

I used the delivery for a girls breakfast. Ordered all 4 types of breakfast burritos Super cheap and delicious. I took a risk since this was my first time trying out their food. The french toast was off the hook! Definitely recommend them for breakfast and next will be their lunch menu for my next gathering.

We had breakfast fhere. I had huevos rancheros. It was so good I told the cook I love him. He said they have Wi-i but I don't know if it's free or if you have to pay. I am going to be a regular here even after I win Power Ball.

I eat at this place a few times a week. Their food is very very good. I place custom orders and they'll make any dish I want. Often times I order a salad that's not on the menu and they make it to my exact specifications. If you are in the area it's a great little place to eat

I ordered delivery off of EatStreet. An hour and 10 mins later I received cold, soggy food. The paper bag inside the plastic delivery bag was wet and disgusting. The hot dog was gray and the bun felt like it had been dipped in water. The patty melt was soggy and cold. The actual burger was charred and hard. The ranch (if you want to call it that) was soupy mayo. The onion rings were the only edible thing for my friend and I AFTER we warmed them back up in the oven. I would have had better food if I had gone to McDonalds.

I was almost willing to give this place a second star, but thankfully good sense took over. This place needs a lesson in scrambled eggs 101, meaning please don't serve me brown eggs. Another thing I'm taking this joint to task for is their delivery service. DON'T CHARGE FOR DELIVERY IF YOU'RE SENDING YOUR DELIVERY PERSON OUT FOR A 1 MILE WALK WITHOUT A THERMAL BAG. My food was lukewarm, the coffee wasn't bagged, and with the open lid, who knows? He may been sipping out of my coffee cup to give him energy for the long walk over. Maybe that would've stopped him from swinging my bag of food as he was walking over. Yeah, saw him with my own two eyes. Maybe this is the kind of place where eating in is the better option, too bad I'll never attempt to find out.

This is my go to place for great soups, BLT, Dogs, and Great Burgers. Yes, it is cozy, but the proprietors always make you feel welcome. From time to time I will come here for a quick breakfast of eggs, bacon and hash browns. Great dinner, good portions, and even better prices. This is a clean diner grill with a basic menu that includes great mexican dishes too.

One of the worst places to eat in Irving park. Over priced bland food that always disappoints people. Everyone I know who eats here feels like they wasted their money and time. I know 12 people that have officially boycotted this place

I just tried this place because it is oh-so-conveniently located right under the Irving Brown Line stop. I got a gyro and fries for $5 and change. Not bad! The grill I usually go to is much greasier and will run me another buck or two. I took my order to go, and to kill time before it was ready I took advantage of the newspapers that had been laid out on a table. Cozy grill with very affordable prices. They also serve plenty of breakfast food, especially omlets.

A lovely hole in the wall that does great burgers! Yummy fries, nice milkshakes, and burgers are always juicy. Family run by lovely people. Doesn't look like much but you get good food for a low price.

Just finished demolishing an order of cheese fries and a hot dog, all for about $4. I've been wanting to try this place for a bit- it's near home and the hours never really worked out (closes too early). Popped in for lunch while I worked from home and found it busy; it's small but has bright colors and is like any other hot dog joint. Besides the hot dog bun being a bit too chewy, everything was great. I'm happy to find a place so close to home for a hot dog and cheese fries stop- I swear it's the cure to any cold.

My co-workers and I decided to try this place out on out lunch break. When we got there, it was pretty small inside with just a couple of people waiting on food (around 12:05pm). The menu had lots of options that seemed pretty tasty. One coworker ordered a fish sandwich w/ fries, the other ordered steak nachos, and I ordered the turkey burger w/ fries. As we sat down and waited on our food to be brought out, it got a little more crowded/busy. After about 30mins, my co-worker's fish sandwich comes out... however, my other co-worker and myself are still waiting on our food. There weren't that many orders in front of us, so I don't understand what the hold up was. The icing on the cake was seeing the lady bring out the food for the group of 8 men that ordered 10-15mins AFTER we had already ordered and sat down. My turkey burger finally comes out... the fries were cold and now it's about time to leave and head back to work. My co-worker's nachos still have not come out. When the lady finally brings out his food, it was minutes from us having to be back in the office and he had to take it to go. His nachos were literally chips, steak, and cheese... it took almost 50mins... I find that very ridiculous. The food was pretty good, but we will probably not be back due to the lack of service.

The food is unremarkable, which makes the 20+ minute wait for it even more absurd. Trash on trays pile up during lunch rush. At least it's cheap.

you know what, i'm not even going to lie to you and tell you that this place doesn't produce fast and tasty food from the grill. the place is clean enough, and depending on the time of day you choose to dine in, you could be faced with hoards of highschoolers making the already smallish space less than cozy. the menu is extensive, but i wish there was a bit more order to it. i can't even TRY to comprehend the written menu above the cash register, but the takeout menu only helps a wee bit in deciphering it all. at the end of the day, a cheeseburger is $3.45* - and it has that nice, charred taste to it. my only regret was that i didn't make it a double because the patties are relatively thin. the onion rings were okay, but way too greasy. plus the batter wasn't crispy. likely won't order them again. the fries, however, looked promising. i'll be back, especially if i'm craving fast food that won't break the bank. --- *at time of review.

Service is slow as hell. At least a 40 minute wait for a gyro and a burrito. I was ok with the wait because they were a bit busy, but when dine-in orders were being served ahead of mine, that's when the patience ends. Apparently they had the Burrito sitting around and had not made the Gyro. Ended up with a cold burrito and no time left to actually sit and enjoy it. The food is ok so they get a couple of stars, but next time I think I'll drive somewhere and probably be back at work in half the time. Speed it up M&G

M & G has great prices and lunch specials, and their cheese fries are excellent. They make great burgers and breakfast sandwiches, and always hook me up with a ton of fries when I go in. The guy at the front counter is really sweet, and seems to always be working (so tip him a little extra). Overall, it's your typical grill, but I'm in there more than I should be since it's only a block away from work and right beside the Irving Park Brown Line stop.

This little grill is awesome! The breakfast is really great. All egg dishes come with a choice of white, wheat, or rye toast. Breakfast sandwiches can be ordered on french roll or toast. The burgers are ample and tasty. You might not think it, but the salads are really good. I recommend the Julienne salad. The prices are reasonable and the service is good. They do take cards for orders over $10 and if you ask them nicely they will waive the minimum. They close pretty early most days, sometime in mid-afternoon.

Decent place to go for diner food. Prices are reasonable. Food is okay. Probably could do with cutting down on their menu options. Always a line come lunchtime, so they're doing something right.

I get breakfast here all the time because I work around the corner. The food is so good every time. And its priced right. I love M and G. I get the steak fajita skillet and its a lot of food for like 7 bucks. and you get toast.

This is your typical hotdog/burger joint to grab a quick bite. Nothing special but nothing bad. The people behind the counters are always nice, they keep the place clean, and the fries are crinkle cut. Good prices too!

I really like this place! Prices are great and food is good, staff is friendly. Not the best gyro or burger I've ever had but good quality and affordable prices! Plus they have a full breakfast menu! Fried egg and chorizo sandwich, SOLID! Try the breakfast burritos!! The homemade salsa they give you with it is like no other salsa I've ever had, its awesome!!

Super nice staff! The only thing I ever order is the combo, and it is excellent.

The food is decent quality for a small dive, and cheap, but they frequently get my order wrong, and the NEVER fess up or apologize. Kind of annoying. So if you order carry out, make sure to check it before you leave.

The food wasn't bad at all, but my associate was with me, who said he saw them "washing off" a big slab of beef in the bathroom sink; say what?

If I had gone here once, i'm not sure what star rating I could give it. Since I have been here at least once a week for almost two years, three seems adequate. I'd imagine the 4-start reviewers aren't more than a few blocks away. It's "A-Ok." The staples are chicken tenders (the thin breading kind) and let's say Gyros. I really only get the chicken tenders, but you'll find the other fare satiating enough. Just ask for extra ranch. They'll have you out the door in 10 minutes or less.

Some things about this restaurant are great and others are lousy, and together they combine to make this place pretty average. The food is really good, but for the price, the portions are small. The monte cristo sandwich was delicious, but it literally had one small sliver of ham on it for 5 dollars. Most of their sandwiches that I've had are similarly skimpy. The soup is great, but they only offer one kind per day, and it's usually several days in a row of boring chicken noodle and navy bean. But by far the most frustrating thing about this place is their ridiculously limited and ever-changing hours. Want lunch after 3pm on a Monday? Nope. Want dinner after 5 any other day of the week? Sorry, not happening. Want ANYTHING on a Sunday? Don't even ask. There aren't too many other restaurants in the neighborhood with similar Chicago fast food fare, they're about 3 steps down from the Irving Park brown line, and yet it's like they have no interest in making money or accommodating customers. Oh, but if you want a cheeseburger at 7am, yes they're open then.
