Manero

"A unique restaurant that has recreated the ambience of a traditional grocery store, where you can enjoy delicate tapas, Iberian hams, salted dishes, high-quality tinned products and even seafood, many of which are packaged ready to take away." - Michelin Inspector

A beautifully appointed upmarket restaurant and bar. Tried to book online but too late. Went there anyway and was lucky enough to be seated at high tables by the entrance. Despite not being in the main part of the restaurant the service was excellent; friendly and attentive, with great food and wine recommendations. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. By far our most expensive meal in Alicante but also our most memorable experience.

I’m glad I went to Manero, but it’s not a place I’ll be returning to. The service and ambiance were amazing, but the prices of the food for what you get don’t make sense. A friend and I shared some shrimps, tuna tartar, and garbanzos con espinacas— we paid 50€ per person and I left hungry. I’m glad that the waiter mentioned the shrimps were local. A worthwhile visit if you’re looking to splash out and have a bit of a fancy night, but otherwise you can skip it.

The place looks cool. And, the TikTokers love it. My friend ordered wine which she was happy. I tried the house vermú. I nearly spit it out. But the food… at first I was underwhelmed with my croqueta. But, then they brought out my ‘gambas al ajillo’. First of all… whatever they served me was not gambas al ajillo according to anyone I know. Why in the world was there a fried egg on it?! Also, why was there sausage in it? But then… I tasted it. Dear lord 🤦🏻‍♀️, it was not hot… not cold. Just room temperature. It was gross. I ate it, because I paid 20€ for it. And it was awful. But now, a couple of hours have passed and I feel very nauseous 🤢. If the waiter had bothered to check with us or even to look our direction, I would have attempted to resolve the problem… but we couldn’t get his attention once we got our food.

When I stayed in Alicante, went three nights in a row to Manero. The staff is helpful and friendly. I haven’t booked never waited longer than 10 minutes to get seated. Surprisingly it has a champagne bar in the back of the restaurant.

For sure, the best place in Alicante, and believe me this is not an easy task. This is my second time in Manero. First time was about week ago, we came in late, it was our first day in Alicante, so we went desperately to have some tapas. The waiter (dark hair, glasses, sorry I forgot the name) was kind enough to take us in, 15 to closure of the kitchen and served is best tapas and drinks, he was more then polite, he was perfect. So, we decided to come here at end of our vacation in Alicante again. This time, Alejandro was serving us and proved that Manero is best place in Alicante. Tapas, wine, desert, all were 5 stars. Thank you for having us and for having high standards in what you do. I hope I will return to Alicante again, and when I do, Manero will be the first stop :) Sincerely Milos

Really nice decorated restaurant. Food is very tasteful! And the atmosphere is 10/10. We made a reservation in advance to secure a table.

Upscale, creative, and with an extensive menu of options! Really lovely for a quick drink and small snack for happy hour. We were able to walk-in at 8 pm on a Friday and get a seat at the bar.

We went to this cool, vibey bar in the heart of Alicante without a reservation and still managed to get a table. Lucas welcomed us with great attention and a warm smile. We ordered the tabla de queso and the pastrami bikini—both were really good. Overall, I’d give the value for money a solid 7/10. Definitely a nice spot if you’re looking for a fancy night out.
