Google
My family and I went on this tour today and it was fantastic. Our guide, Dietrich, was so knowledgeable, funny, and entertaining. We loved all the history of the area that he told us about and the food from all four local places we stopped at was amazing. Such a great value for the money & as someone who has done 10+ food tours all across the United States, this is a “don’t miss” tour.

Beth W.

Google
Tasty and informative walking tour in Georgetown! Jacob was knowledgeable about the area and gave insight into the restaurants and the area. All four stops were delicious. We recommend to anyone who likes food with a bit of history thrown in.

Randy D.

Google
We thoroughly enjoyed all of the restaurant stops and walking throughout the neighborhoods of Georgetown. Elizabeth was quite knowledgeable and kept the tour interesting, sharing many fun facts along the way. The portions were generous and it was a great mix of foods we hadn’t tried before. We highly recommend this food tour!

Google
Went on the Georgetown foodie tour in early May and had the best time! I loved going to spots that were off of the main street and haven’t heard or been. The food portions were surprisingly large (I was expecting just a bite from each place), but you get a full plate! I even brought home left overs! It was a great way to try foods I wouldn’t typically order for myself as well! Not only was it a good tour, but the tour guide did a phenomenal job explaining various historical and architectural facts throughout the streets! I had so much fun learning about the city I now call home and I can’t wait to share them with my friends and family when they visit! I went for my birthday and it was the best gift, but also recommended if you are a local wanting to learn more about DC (our entire group were locals and we all learned something new), but it would also be a great experience if you are a visitor/tourist as it’s a great way to learn about the city and try the best foods! 10/10 recommend and I can’t wait to try out the other events!

Google
Had a great walking food tour of Georgetown with Elizabeth today. It was unseasonably warm, and she made sure we had cool drinks as we walked on the shady streets. The four restaurants we sampled had amazing dishes, and Elizabeth was super knowledgeable about both the restaurants and the historic buildings we passed. Would definitely recommend for someone coming from out of town and looking to get to know Georgetown, or for locals who want to try some new places.

Google
We were visiting the Washington DC Area from the San Francisco Bay Area for my Neonatal Nursing Conference with the Academy of Neonatal Nursing. I found a Georgetown Food Tour with Mangia DC Tours with Trip Advisor. Ben was outstanding as our Tour Guide. Gabe also came out to assist with our Tour to make it very special for our group. We had such a wonderful time savoring vegetarian and meat cuisines in Georgetown as we also learned about the history and culture of the area. We highly recommend Mangia DC Food Tours for an introduction to the hidden delicious culinary gems of Georgetown with a walking tour of historical sites and knowledge that is fun and interesting.

Kerry K.

Google
We are so glad we booked our food tour with Mangia DC. Cara was the best! She shared so much interesting history, plus she was just fun! We also absolutely loved each of the delicious things we ate. Be sure to come with with an empty stomach. Each bite is worth it!

Shelby B.

Google
Do this tour!!! So good. Brian, the tour guide, really knows his stuff. He’s very warm, welcoming, informative and entertaining. The tour itself was pleasantly surprising as I did not know much about Georgetown prior to coming. The four stops for food were SO good, especially at City Sliders. You will not be disappointed. 10/10.

Yelp
Had a surprise food tour bestowed upon our day trip to DC! It was a really great surprise and filled with a TON of food. You will never go hungry when you complete one of these tours. Elizabeth was our tour guide and she was VERY knowledgeable about Georgetown history. The day was SUPER hot, and does include a lot of walking, so make sure you wear your best, comfy sneakers. Where we stopped: -Stachowskis -City Sliders -Chaia -Dog Tag Cafe At each location you get a good serving of one of the places best dish. Overall, great experience! Would recommend this to anyone traveling to DC for a weekend and want to get some steps in while chowing down on some great dishes in the area.

Marjorie B.

Yelp
we went on the Georgetown foodie tour with Jacob. Jacob was an excellent guide giving us information about the food and the architecture in Georgetown. It was absolutely beautiful and the food was good to boot! We would highly recommend this.

Yelp
Had a fabulous evening at Mangia as part of a corporate event. What a wonderful concept! We made some fabulous cocktails with their team and tried a variety of local food. I've lived in DC and my crew skipped the walking tour in favor of visiting some of our favorite bars, but I can't say enough about the incredible staff that went above and beyond to get us buzzed and teach us about DC! I'm A former DC tour guide and I learned some things!

Yelp
When traveling to different cities, when we have he time we enjoy taking a walking food tour. We like the exposure to different neighborhoods on foot, learning some of the interesting history and enjoying the local food. Mangia D.C. certainly didn't disappoint! Our tour guide, Jacob, was knowledgeable, friendly and customer service oriented. James was a capable wing-man. The eateries chosen were diverse and tasty and a good representation of all that is good with the Georgetown food scene.

Yassir B.

Yelp
It was an excellent tour to explore the history of Georgetown and Washington, D.C., as well as to get recommendations and reviews of Georgetown's restaurants. Our tour guide, Zak, was amazing!

Yelp
This is a review for a couple virtual classes I participated in (or at least tried to--see below). Mangia has a nifty idea that works reasonably well remotely when they get the basic logistics right. Cheese board making: 4 stars. Overall tasty and educational! lovely assortment of cheeses lovely crackers and jams okay olives and nuts demonstrated different ways to arrange the ingredients explained the origin and profile of the cheeses more pressure to be sharing via video than I'd like I also was supposed to be in a pizza making class, though the ingredients were not delivered. A few days later I received ingredients and instructions so am able to enjoy the food if not the class itself.

Yelp
Wow, what an amazing time we had on our tour. From the planning stages, Dave was extremely helpful and detail oriented. We quickly organized a private tour in Georgetown, keeping in mind food allergies for our group of 11 women. Dave was very responsive and assisted us with information about parking and navigating where to find our tour guide, Marsha. As soon as we met Marsha, we were blown away. She was fabulous! From the get go, she was engaging, friendly, and enthusiastic. She's extremely knowledgeable about the area and all of the historical and interesting stops along the tour. The restaurants were delicious and everything was set for us when we arrived at each place. Staff at the restaurants were all friendly and helpful as well! Throughout the tour, I had girls coming up to me and asking me where I found Mangia DC and what a wonderful activity; they absolutely LOVED it! We were comfortably full, interested in further exploring the area, and happy as can be. We have the Mangia DC team, especially Marsha, to thank for that! We also loved the mission of Mangia DC. They give back to those in need and bring us to restaurants with amazing stories and missions. The cherry on top! I could not say one negative thing about our experience and I am excited to recommend to others.

Donna K.

Yelp
McKendry was totally engaging and charming. She was knowledgeable and was a great storyteller. Each food stop was a different type of food and each place had a history. We had a great time and would take the tour again especially if McKendry was the guide.

Yelp
Yesterday we did a Georgetown Foodie tour with Mangia DC and our guide Lydia. She led us through the historic town where we learned some of its history saw where Julia Child and her husband first lived, Early JFK and family and a few other notables. Saw some old architecture and stopped along the way to sample food from local eateries. The places we stopped at were more well known to locals than tourists. A fun tour for our last day in DC. Oh and let me not forget, a portion of the price of the tickets went to a local charity called SOME (so others might eat) so the price was definitely worth it.
google avatar

Cindy B.

Yelp
Such a delicious and entertaining way to spend an afternoon. Marsha our tour guide knew her stuff and shared so many interesting facts about the neighborhood and the foos. The 4 stops were uniquely different, equally delicious and really gave us a good flavor of Georgetown. Loved it!
google avatar

Miss Shay B.

Yelp
This is a review for the overall experience....the tour guide Lydia was amazing and very knowledgeable about the area and food spots. We went to 4 different spots and all uniquely great, the reason for the 4 star is because there was only 1 place with alchohol which was disappointing. I figured there would be at least wine at each stop too!
google avatar

JerryLee B.

Yelp
Went on the Dupont Circle food tour. Worth every penny. You get a lot for your money. Many food stops with large portions. Wine & beer included. Gelato & iced coffee too. Nice history of the area by the tour guide. You get to see many embassies. Dave was great!

Yelp
I did the Georgetown Tour. Meh. Meh. And Meh. For the price I paid, I should've gotten WAAYYY more food. I was very disappointed when I discovered one of our stops was to an olive oil shop. The tour guide himself was okay, but I feel like it should be called a history tour as opposed to a food tour. Food tours are supposed to have you unable to get out of your seat towards the end, and after the one I went on, I could probably run a mile or two afterwards. I'd recommend elsewhere to spend your hard earned coins people....

Yelp
The owner contacted me and is helping me resolve this issue. He is also giving me an opportunity to try out their services firsthand (as the original purchase was a gift for family members). It is always nice to see business owners take the time out of their busy schedules to resolve these types of issues and listen to customer feedback. I felt better after talking to them and look forward to giving them a 2nd chance!
google avatar

Yelp
Georgetown Tour (2.5 stars)- It was a nice tour, but I wouldn't call it a food tour. One stop was a free olive oil tasting and another was for cookies (out of four stops total). All in all it was not worth the price if what you're really looking for is good food. The tour was nice and had some interesting parts. Looking at these other reviews, I think the Dupont tour would've been a better choice. We both left still hungry but we enjoyed our time with the group.

Yelp
This was my first food tour and it was excellent! I went with my college alumni group around Georgetown and it was a memorable experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the History of Georgetown and the food establishments we stopped at. The tour guide had a backpack full of water bottles which was perfect since it was hot out and we needed to stay hydrated. Before we started, each person was provided with a small pamphlet that had a map, list of restaurants we would be stopping at, coupons, and ways to follow them on social media. The food tour makes sure everyone is accommodated, since many people have dietary restrictions. Overall, we stopped at 4 food establishments. I don't want to give too much away, so you will just have to check it out yourself. I will definitely have to try the DuPont Circle Italian food tour sometime.

Yelp
The tour was great, Alan gave quite a bit of history information and the food was good. Lots of it! You will definitely fill up. Comment to the restaurants that participated: Would have been nice if the very high outside temperature would have been taken into account. The food provided was somewhat heavy for such a hot day (summer menus??). Overall a great experience. Will definitely recommend it.

Mike T.

Yelp
I have lived in the DC area for 40 yrs. spent plenty of time in Georgetown but mostly on M St. This was my first food tour and it was great. A portion of the proceeds goes to SOME (so others might eat). Alan was a great guide, plenty of history along the walk, interesting facts and the food was delicious. Made 4 food stops, (the last was dog-tag bakery which supports disabled vets). Portions are large so you won't be left hungry. Walking pace was easy and about 2.5 miles. Highly recommend it. Can't wait to try the DuPont Circle (Italian) food tour.

Terrence S.

Yelp
This was very interesting! I learned a lot about the DuPont area and also learned about some delicious Italian restaurants!!! The tour guide also had some wonderful suggestions for sightseeing!

Yelp
Great guides, full of useful and interesting information. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I actually found all the history given fun. It was a pretty hot day, but all the walking became very necessary after all the food. Food offers were excellent! Appetizers at 1st location (Darlington house), caprese salad and mushroom risotto. Hmmmmmmmm! Entree at 2nd location (Floriana), fresh filled pasta with steak. Home made pasta + home made sauce = happy tummy. We end with gelato at Pintango. Slightly disappointing that it was a chain, but yummy is yummy. Chain or no chain. I appreciate the thought that was put behind all the detail as well. For example, I didn't understand why the instruction given told us to park so far away from the meeting point. But it then make so much sense because it was right where we ended. If they offer other tour, I'd love to signed up for them.

Yelp
This was my very first food tour, and it was a fun experience. All the locations we went to were very different, which kept things interesting! The route that we walked was scenic and the weather was pleasant. DC can get hot though, so bring a water bottle! I'd never been to any of the places we stopped at, but then again, I haven't explored DC very extensively. My favorite dishes were the risotto and the gelato. Dave, our tour guide, was great!
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
I live in DC and was surprised to learn how many local Italian places there are. I loved how the tour guide gave a history of the DuPont Circle neighborhood and the architecture. I came to appreciate many places that I walk by and don't think much about. The food was excellent, fresh, and locally sourced. This tour uncovers many hidden gems of DC that you won't find on a big tour bus. If you have friends coming in from out of town that are tired of the museums and monuments, try this tour. It won't disappoint.

Joanie M.

Yelp
We just finished the foodie tour of Georgetown with Shannon. It was all we expected and more. Nice easy walk to some interesting places that we would not have seen in Georgetown and some delicious samplings of food.
google avatar

Christine P.

Yelp
Italian tour of DuPont was excellent. Maddie was friendly, knowledgeable and she made the tour fun! 3 stops plus walking between left us "comfortably full." Loved the risotto @ Darlington House (which isn't British despite the name) and I really enjoyed the fun facts she shared. We're going to have to check out the Georgetown food tour next!
google avatar

Kelsey-Anne L.

Yelp
We recently had a corporate outing with Mangia DC and it was a hit with our group!! It was down pouring that day, but that didn't stop our group from having fun. From the beginning with the booking process Dave was stellar and accommodating to all of our needs. On our tour, Alan was super informative and our group was able to see parts of Georgetown that are off the beaten path. All the restaurants were great neighborhood spots and you can tell much thought was put into selecting quality restaurants. Dave and Alan accommodated our last minute changes at each spot and the day was stress free for our group. I definitely recommend Mangia DC for a group outing!

Yelp
One of the most interesting and detailed Tours I've been on. The food was superb The guide has such charisma and knowledge of the area.just a wonderful 2 hours!

Brittany L.

Yelp
I took my sister on this tour while she was in town visiting. She had seen all the monuments and it was supposed to be a really nice day so we didn't want to be in museums. The tour itself was one of the best tours I've been on. The guides were full of interesting tidbits about the neighborhood that I had never heard before, even though I've been in DC for 7 years. And. The. Food. I'm a picky eater, so this tour was really for my sister's benefit. The first stop at Darlington House was delicious! And the wine pairing really hit the spot (we had a frustrating time getting there- thanks DC metro- so the wine was timed perfectly). I'm not usually a big fan of lasagna, but my sister devoured hers, and I brought what was left of mine home for my boyfriend (who microwaved it the next day and still said it was one of the best he'd ever had!). The last two stops were my favorite. The owner of the pizza shop was so welcoming and enthusiastic- you could really tell he loved his job and took pride in his food, and I swear you could taste the enthusiasm! The final stop was at Dolcezza for gelato. I had never been there and I feel like I've completely wasted the last 7 years of my life! The gelato was like, life changing! All told, it was a wonderful tour with just enough walking to not feel too guilty about all the wonderful food. The people were fantastic and by the end of the first course we were all chatting it up as if we hadn't just met a few minutes ago! The architecture of the buildings we saw was beautiful. The guides were funny and extremely knowledgable, and they obviously put a lot of thought into the foods and restaurants they chose because the meal was fantastic. I would 100% recommend this tour for anyone who wants to do something different for an afternoon in DC.

Kate R.

Yelp
Great tour! Our tour guide, Alan, was very informative. The food at all stops on the tour were large and generous portions. More importantly they were delicious! In our group we had 3 kids- aged 12, 14, and 16 who are all picky eaters. They tried everything and to their surprise liked it! The mix of food, walking and information was perfect. Will definitely recommend and am very interested in the DuPont Circle tour for our next visit to the area.

Yelp
Went on this tour today with the alum club from my college. It was a great way to get to know the Georgetown area and of course eat some delicious food. The tour guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable and friendly, he even brought enough water bottles for everyone on the tour. They had a great system where someone from Mangia would go to the restaurants before the tour got there and would get everything set up for us. We even got coupons for each place we visited. Overall a really great experience!

Kristin S.

Yelp
this is my 2nd tour in DC, the first with this company. I 'll start with the good: Pros: great tour guide, a few interesting facts, good food Cons: not worth the money! While the food was very good, it was not nearly enough for the cost of the ticket. We left the tour and had to go to lunch. Lacks Variety- there are only 3 restaurants visited, more should be added I went on a food tour with a different company previously, and that was a MUCH better value than the Mangia Tour. On the other tour, we got to sample food from more restaurants and the food was plentiful! We left full. This tour with Mangia... appetizer size portions, and you definitely leave hungry. I would not recommend Mangia to anyone. I would refer them to the other food tour company operating in DC.
google avatar

Erica P.

Yelp
The Good: Great guide- he was an actor with a great voice and great delivery. Two great foodie visits: one had great Polish food, the other great Italian. The unexpected: this was part foodie, part history, with a lot of walking and a little less eating than I expected. Great day, though, and I am planning to host an event at one of the venues we visited. For experienced Washingtonians, you get the benefit of going a little bit off the beaten path. Pro Tip: wear sneakers!
google avatar

Scott M.

Yelp
Mangia was amazing! A great way to see the city! Dave was a great guide. Really enjoyed the Canoli deserts and the stories about the heritage of the city. I'd love to take another food tour - it's a great and inexpensive way to get a taste of an entire city's cuisine.

Dave K.

Yelp
Very disappointing. We only did 4 tastings, and one of them was a free olive oil tasting. The last was a cookie in a bag. Our guide didn't really know much about the area and definitely didn't know the food. Wander around and find some food yourself, and you'll spend less and have more fun. Oh, and we only stopped at stores - felt sponsored
google avatar

Kay V.

Yelp
Great tour! Everything was delicious, tour was interesting and fun! Very knowledgeable guide helped us navigate our way through the Dupont neighborhood and through a variety of tasty treats! Fun and off-the-beaten-path!
google avatar

Lori A.

Yelp
Pleasant tour guides. One of three DC tours we attended that weekend. Chose to try a groupon vs one of the highly recommended food tours. My stomach paid the price. Made for a great workout with friends vs a palate pleasing experience. The first dish was yum the second was a waste of calories. The third was ice cream. If you are trying to watch your figure. This is the tour for you.

A W.

Yelp
I had a great time on the Mangia DC tour! I really liked the guide- he was friendly, funny, and knowledgable. The food was excellent, and I was surprised at how much there was. You wouldn't think that "samples" would be enough for a full lunch, but it is. Actually, if it wasn't for the walk in between restaurants to burn off some calories, it might have even been too much. Learning about the buildings along the way was interesting too. It's cool to learn the history of some of these buildings that have played a role in the history of DC, but aren't your typical tourist destinations. I would definitely recommend this tour to tourists AND locals!
google avatar

Emily G.

Yelp
I lived in DuPont for the last year and had absolutely no idea how many local Italian places there were so close to where I had been living. This was the first food tour I've been on, and of course, the day we went was the coldest day we have had in DC all winter! Dave, our tour guide, was absolutely fantastic. We received an email prior to the tour instructing us that we would spend some time outside and to remind us to bundle up. He even brought hand warmers for everyone on the tour. We visited 4 restaurants and the food was delicious at each location. It was great getting to learn about the Italian history in DuPont, as well as eat some great food. Great experience all around, and I would highly recommend it.
google avatar

Marion H.

Yelp
I have nothing but great things to say about the Mangia DC Food Tour! I had a fabulous time, ate great food, and the tour guide Dave was not only incredibly knowledgeable but was a lot of fun and head great energy! I would recommend this not just for tourists, but for locals as well!

Carly G.

Yelp
I've been living in D.C for two years and I saw the side of DuPont Circle I have never seen before! The tour was AMAZING, the tour guide very professional, and the food was very tasty. Overall it was a GREAT experience.

Laura G.

Yelp
I went on one of the first food tours with Mangia DC, and had a great experience. The tour guide was super knowledgeable and friendly, and made the whole experience fun and informative. I've lived in DC for 6 years, and I loved learning about hidden gems in my own city. The food was great. The filet mignon ravioli was amazing, and I've already been back to one of the other stops for brunch!

Linda E.

Yelp
I arranged this tour for 6 women with pretty sophisticated tastes. The food was delicious and our tour guide was very friendly and full of information about the area. He took the time to visit with us individually but managed to keep us somewhat corralled while walking the streets of Dupont Circle. This was the first time I've ever done something like this and I'm very glad I picked Mangia Food Tours.
