The 19 Best Restaurants In Calistoga

"Mangia Mi might feel like one of those places that play up the Italian stereotypes, with a Vespa parked out front and the “get sauced” tagline on t-shirts. But we’re willing to overlook all that for an order of Momma’s Meatballs and the excellent homemade pastas that change daily. Everything is delicious, but you should prioritize the tagliatelle alla vodka with sausage, Romano eggplant stack, and the garlic and parmesan focaccia. They’re also known for crispy New Haven-style pizzas, like the signature Mikey’s Mambo Italiano, with spicy Calabrian chili honey drizzle and layers of meat, which pair perfectly with $3 PBRs at Happy Hour. This is somewhere you’ll definitely need a reservation for, and they only take bookings over the phone. " - christina julian

Delicious food and amazing service! We came on a Friday evening and the vibes were good and the restaurant felt comfortable. They have plenty of menu options to choose from for both meat eaters and vegetarians. Each item we ordered was tasty.

Google
This Italian restaurant is not so much about the atmosphere which is perfect fine but totally about the quality of the food. Meatballs from fresh from heaven. Focaccia bread just melts in your mouth. Pizza pie, pasta all made by hand and simply delicious. If you have to wait a little bit and you enjoy authentic Italian fair then slow down and enjoy. Sorry I took my picture after I started to dive in. 😊

Google
Read the Lowest Reviews, very common issue in this place. Ordered Parmesan Chicken with Alfredo... $67.00 lol - see image of receipt and food. 2 young boys in the kitchen and a bar gal with an attitude. Not worth mentioning they forgot other items that were ordered. Stay away and walk down the street to any other place. Interior is very run down as well.

Came here for fresh pasta and it was indeed very good. Happy hour has good selections of food and good deal on beer and wine. Calamari was superb crispy and delicious with fresh chunky tomato sauce for dipping. Half portions of fresh pasta were actually quite a good size to share for two. The eggplant was juicy and crispy outside. Apple crisp and tiramisu were yummy. Staff was friendly and frequently check with us about food and drinks. Overall excellent experience.

The classic Pepperoni pizza is a knock out. And I’m a New Yorker so I know a little about pizza. The lady brought it out to me while I sat in my work truck. Awesome service.

Great food, wonderful service. Nice peeps.

Google
We really enjoyed this italian restaurant which features hand-made pastas and delicious sauces. Thee family-style servings promote sharing of entrees. We ate there twice in 3 nights! The first night we shared a tasty italian salad and a fantastic eggplant Parmesan. The second night we shared a wonderful Caesar salad and an incredible perfectly constructed and baked vegetarian pizza. We also had their baked broccoli appetizer which was mildly spicy, crispy, generous and delicious. Their well-chosen wines-by-the-glass paired perfectly. We were too full for dessert...

Google
Some of the very best Italian food we’ve ever had. Rebecca and her staff were great. We had the eggplant stack, meat lovers pizza, provolone cheese sticks and the carrot cake. Everything was incredible. Can’t wait to go back.

Yelp
Cute spot. Small but mighty. Attentive service. This was a great find while on a day trip to Calistoga. Priced similarly to most things in the area (a little on the high end), you get value. The wines were lovely and the food was great. The tagliatelle alla norma and the focaccia bread were absolutely stellar. Check it out next time you're in town.

Yelp
Food was good and definitely homemade but it was the small things that bothered me. The table we were seated at was uneven so it kept tilting, though they had a makeshift solution for the time being but it wasn't very effective. The decorations on the wall around us were questionable, like a huge vine hung on the wall and within a few inches of the person I was dining with. The thing that bothered me the most was that the appetizers came 1 MINUTE before our entrees. It was like appetizer (oh sorry it was late) and then 1 minute, entrees are on the table. No time to enjoy the appetizer. We asked if there was anything they could do about it and all we got was a blank stare (for at least 10 seconds) and a "the cooks screwed up" and then she walked away. Funnily, we noticed that server didn't come back to our table and the other server helped us for the rest of the night. The other server was great, even gave us paper plates and utensils so we could enjoy our leftovers at our hotel. The food here is good, very flavorful and hot. The chicken parm was one of the best I've ever had and the Pasta A La Norma (I think it was called?) was also delicious, the eggplant on top was MUAH chefs kiss. Overall, good food, service? not as good but I would come back again

Yelp
We had a larger group, so we made a reservation, and we're glad we did! The restaurant is apparently a popular spot - it was packed! Still, we were attended to and seated quickly. And it was mere moments before our waitress came over with recommendations. We ordered an absurd amount of food, and it was all spectacular. There wasn't a loser in the bunch - and how often does that happen, right? The warm goat cheese balls and the meatballs were particularly good, as was the pasta with pancetta, peas, and mushrooms. I don't even like peas! I would definitely return.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place. The service was fantastic and the servers were lovely, kind, and attentive. However, the food was somewhat lacking for the price ($35/person). It has a cute interior with a good amount of seating reminiscent of home style restaurants. For appetizers, we got focaccia, caprese, meatballs, and brussels sprouts. The meatballs were my favorite but kind of small portion. Super flavorful and the sauce went well with the focaccia. The focaccia was kinda thick and felt like it was sitting out but it was homemade. Wish it was warmed up. The caprese was good but small quantity (five slices of tomato) for the cost. The balsamic vinegar and mozzarella in the caprese was good. The brussels sprouts were cooked well but kind of bland. We got a creamy mushroom tagliatelle, bolognese tagliatelle, and shrimp scampi for the entrees. The creamy mushroom was my favorite, creamy and flavorful. The bolognese was also decent, but I wish it had more sauce. The scrimp scampi they let us know it'd be lemony but it tasted mostly of lemon and felt watery. The pasta was well made and delicious. On the sign outside, it says "A Place to Get Sauced" but most of the dishes lacked much sauce.

Yelp
this gem that my friend found was the perfect eatery for a birthday celebration! I knew i was in the right spot the moment i saw a rainbow flag outside the restaurant. This was not the fanciest restaurant i have visited. It's a very small (exclusive) spot with limited seating, so tiny i could see some foods being prepared in the kitchen. our wonderful server, Ellie, was wearing a blue hoodie and jeans (i felt overdressed lol!) But the service she provided and the food really makes up for that. Ellie was so attentive and kind to our party of nine! She made very dish sound desirable it was difficult to choose! but we ended up getting all six of the holiday drinks! The drinks were varied so well we each were able to try then stick with one drink we loved the most! we chose 6 of the antipasto: olives, fried goat cheese, ricotta with honey, dates, fried provolone, and the burrata. i think the dates wrapped in the prosciutto was my favorite, closely followed by the fried goat cheese balls with the apples! we chose the focaccia for the table too and it was the best focaccia i have eaten. so soft and fluffy with the garlic parmesan flavor! it was a savory cake! This restaurant serves family style so me and one of my friend split the chicken parmesan and the chicken picatta. oh my good both were so amazing. the chicken picatta was so lemony and yummy! the sauce in chicken parm makes me want to return to try a pasta in it, and truly the best marinara i've ever tasted! I wish i could say what everyone else split but it all looked amazing. Ellie's cake is a must try for dessert, but my favorite was the affogato!

Yelp
Love this place. The team is very nice and always gives us a warm welcome. I love the chicken picatta. The pasta is made fresh which is a game changer for me. Pizzas are a great size and delicious. The meatballs are big and are mouthwatering. They've got a great happy hour too. Would definitely recommend when in Calistoga!!

Yelp
This place is WONDERFUL. It's a cute, tiny little restaurant in Calistoga but the vibes and food are incredible. We came in with a party of 7 and were seated pretty quickly. Our waitress explained the menu to us and offered some advice on how much to get to split and she hit the nail on the head- we had just the right amount of all the right things. Everything we ordered was fantastic, can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Good ambiance. Customer service was good, host was nice and food arrived promptly. Ordered the Momma's meatballs and shrimp fettuccine, they were delicious. Very happy with our visit and dinning experience.

Yelp
When in Calistoga, Mangia Mi is a must-try for Italian cuisine. Not just food; cuisine. Mangia Mi is family-run and influenced, embodying the true spirit of Italian dining. We absolutely love the pizza--thin, crispy, and bursting with flavor. I usually pair it with a salad, and my wife and I share both. The portions are generous, so we always end up taking some food home. On my last visit, I tried the shrimp fra diavolo. It was perfectly balanced, offering rich flavor without being overly spiced. For anyone seeking authentic and satisfying Italian cuisine, Mangia Mi is the place to go.

Yelp
Was excited to come here for their "homemade" Italian food. Place is very small and sat in the high top bar area. Arrived early for dinner on a Monday evening which had happy hour pricing which wasn't that much of a savings. Ordered what their mozzarella sticks would be and they were good, not overly great. When we asked our waitress for an additional glass of wine right before happy hour ended she seemed annoyed by our asking. For my entree I ordered a Tuscan type of pasta chicken, again was good, not great. Yes this place is known for Italian but like similar reviewers it's overly priced for what it is. House wine is delicious and it's an Italian meal but a bit disappointing.

Yelp
Found this place on tik tok & yelp. It was 4 stars on yelp. Was greeted by very kindly staff. Elly helped seat us & quickly explained the menu on the wall. Elly explained that Full size was served family style. The shrimp scampi over FRESH fettuccine was a single serving in my opinion, was watery. Also ordered Caesar salad ( NOT pictured) it was served as full romaine leaves piled on/next to one another on a plate with light dressing , parm cheese, & stale croutons. Wanted 2 different pizzas. Pizza could not be half & half. Elly recommended to put mushrooms ( our topping choice ) on half of the margherita pizza ( our topping choice ).

Ann G.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was very salty. Sad because I was so hungry and couldn't even eat it! Salt was overpowering the flavor. Was not worth the price. The pizza sauce and meat were salty. I tested each to make sure it wasn't my taste bud. My partner and I both thought it was salty. And garlic scampi was not good. Just plain butter, garlic with lemon and parsley. Nothing unique about it. Sparkling water $10 , you can get at dollar tree. Service was friendly. But what's important too is the food quality.

Yelp
Great Italian food. When you are there, it's like walking into your family's kitchen. Casual atmosphere, great local wine selection. All the pasta is made in house. The pizza dough is made in house. Meatballs are made in house, as are all of the sauces. Desserts are all made in house. Some places can say they have fresh pasta or homemade pasta, but most can't say they make their pasta themselves. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Dave L.

Yelp
Sixth time back and still amazing homemade pasta, astounding papa and mama sauces, meatballs , you name it! Wow! Make time to go there and enjoy the casual, friendly, atmosphere with Ellie and her family. We're going back soon!
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
We were warmly greeted and the place smelled great. Menu changes so it's chalked on the wall. Felt very family style and welcoming. Everything is a la carte. We wanted to try the meatballs, it's $18 for 3 big ones or you can choose the mini meatballs on the app menu. We did the 3 for 18 apps, we got 4 tiny meatballs. They were so good, best I've ever had, wish we would have gotten the bigger side! We ordered the chicken parm with an add on of fettuccini Alfredo. It was so good!! I'm used to ordering a dinner where you get veggies or a salad though, that would have been nice. We had some lovely wine to compliment the dinner and left very satisfied. The prices are way more expensive in Calistoga, be prepared.

Yelp
Loved Mangia Mi! Located in Calistoga. We are from out of town and were looking for freshly made pasta. I found this gem here on Yelp. Street Parking Only. Reservations are recommended. When you come through the door you are in the bar/lounge area. We were greeted and seated in another room. Their menu is on a huge chalkboard wall. There are lots of delicious choices. Our server made a few recommendations that we chose. The pasta was very good. They also make all their desserts. We ordered a key lime pie to take back to our hotel. As time went on the restaurant became very busy. The food was great and the Staff was friendly. I will be back again.

Marisa S.

Yelp
The best prosciutto & arugla pizza I've had! I love that the prosciutto is baked onto the pizza. Delicious.

Nicole O.

Yelp
BEWARE! WORST PLACE EVER! If I could give zero stars, I would. The service was mediocre - the waitress appeared unhappy and wouldn't crack a smile. However, the gentleman who helped with drinks was kind. The only redeeming item on the menu was the meatballs. However, after spending $320, everything else was incredibly disappointing. SERIOUSLY! They only offered happy hour pricing in specific areas, which felt unfair. We had 2 little kids that couldn't sit at the high chairs offered for happy hour, therefore we were denied happy hour and forced to sit in the back. The Caesar salad lacked dressing and was overpriced at $26- it was a plate of lettuce! Everything else, like the dates, burrata, and goat cheese balls, was regrettable. Save your money. The pepperoni pizza was sickening. Mu kids have never not liked pizza, so this was a first! The chicken parm was a disaster, calamari was poorly cooked- salty and soggy, and the pappardelle bolognese was excessively salty- and not much sauce! I cannot comprehend how this place accumulates positive reviews. I will never return. Save your money and opt for eateries like Brasswood, Sam's, or Farmstead, which serve quality food using locally sourced organic ingredients. This establishment simply does not meet the mark or price point!

Yelp
I'm giving this place three stars because the Happy Hour was reasonable and staff were really nice and friendly. I ordered a Margarita pizza and was looking forward to a proper Margarita but got a burnt pizza. Expensive too!! It was ok but not what I expected. I was as debating coming here vs La Prima. I should have gone to La Prima better toppings and crust. Sorry! Being honest.

Marilyn T.

Yelp
Great food, service and atmosphere. A nice friendly place to eat in Calistoga! Amazing dishes with a lot of help for food allergy issues
google avatar

Diep L.

Yelp
Calamari, pappardelle with all day bolognese, and pappardelle with wild mushroom cream sauce were so good. I can taste that the pasta was home made. We enjoyed our food and would eat here again. Friendly staff.

Yelp
Magic is in the sauce! One of the best Pasta and Pizza we have had in US. We had come back next day to buy the same pasta to take home for our daughter because we know she will love it. All ingredients were so fresh. Even the basil is stronger than your grocery store bought live basil. But the magic is in the sauce. We had the veggie pasta. There is some lemon and awesome blend of sauce with really fresh pasta (as advertised) which doesn't stuff you up and pairs well with the wine and ambience. We customized our Margarita Pizza, and the chilli Honey sauce is wonderful..(it's from other Italiano pizza that have on list if you can go with meat pizza). Great Service and we are glad we found a walk in seating at counter instead of our reservation elsewhere. Will be be going there on next drive up. Happy hour specials until 6pm
google avatar

Eme E.

Yelp
The service was great we didn't have reservations so we just walked in for a party of two and they sat us right away! Our hostess was also our waitress and they explained we can use the board looking to our left was a giant menu. Hard to see sitting down but also you can stand or ask for a tablet menu. Portions are big enough to share. Price seems a little high but because there family portions it makes sense. We ordered a Greek salad which I highly recommend the flavors were fantastic. The chicken parmigiana was pretty good a little salty but tasted ok. I would advise to try to get the apple crisp while it's on the dessert menu it's amazing!!! The lemon garlic scallops Alfredo was too lemony and the scallops were super thin wouldn't recommend wish they had the thick big scallops and not make it so lemony it over powered the fresh pasta.
google avatar

Yelp
Sorry folks, I was so hungry and ravished the food so quickly that I didn't even stop for a photo. Omg hands down best meal in Calistoga for the few days we are in town. The owner comes in earlier in the date and makes HOMEMADE pasta for the whole day and in hopes to sell out for the day's recipes. The restaurant was only open four hours for dinner and the menu is on the chalkboard- freshly made each day. The focaccia bread was so delicious as was the greek salad. And the Papardelle with wild mushrooms? Get the full order if you are a duo, it is hearty and we wiped the bowl clean with our leftover focaccia. The noodles were massive and elegant dente, the sauce so rich and creamy and the mushrooms were plentiful! I was happy to pay this mom and pop Italian restaurant for the delicious meals they spend the day making. The pasta compares to some of the decadent dishes I have had in Rome, and that is saying something. So skip the resort eat-ins and go here for dinner.

Mickey K.

Yelp
Best. Pizza. Ever. Amazing dough, baked to perfection. Fresh ingredients. Great service.

Yelp
Delicious homemade pasta's and nice red wine. We had the pappardelle bolognese it was very good. Looking forward to going back.

Yelp
We had an amazing time. Their food was great, but even better was the service and atmosphere. A fantastic playlist melded perfectly with absolutely delicious food. We got recommendations from locals/regulars (both on what to eat as well as things to do in Calistoga), and had the good fortune of meeting the owner, who was a lovely person and also a riot. The portions were huge! We had the creamy mushroom pasta, broccolini, Caesar salad, focaccia, and antipasto (stuffed dates, burrata, and olives). We would order all of them again. We look forward to a return visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Walking into Mangia Mi was a pleasant interaction with one of the servers. However, I was not too pleased in the seated area in the second room because of an unpleasant sour stench. The second seating area was also dim which made it difficult to see. Their menu was quite unique; It is written on a chalkboard in the middle of the room while the tables surround it. It seems like a great idea for fast food and not so much for a sit down restaurant. We ordered the Antipasto of 6; ricotta with honey fried provalone, polpette mini meatballs, sorpressata, ravioli fritti, stuffed dates. The fried provalone, ricotta with honey, and mini meatballs were my favorite, the other three were a bit underwhelming. We did order focaccia on the side (not pictured) which was a nice additive. I'd say it was a bit different from other focaccia breads I've tried in the past, but still delightful. We attempted ordering two pasta dishes, but ended up waiting about 40 minutes for it to come out. The bread pudding was a bit dry and not as dense for my liking. I was not a fan of the artificial chocolate drizzled on top. With only 2 servers on the floor amounts 6 tables, I felt as if my party was not being helped as much. It took an additional 20 minutes for us to get our check. Mangia Mi could use a bit help from management, I believe they do have potential. I would not visit again if I were to have this same 2 hour seating experience.

D W.

Yelp
Such amazing food...very different. Servings were very large. I suggest you order and split if possible. The place is small so reservations are recommended. Our waitress was busy but very attentive and helpful. The house wine was also good.
google avatar

Tom L.

Yelp
Wonderful New Haven style pizza. Never heard of NH pizza? Go here and you'll want to make a trip back east to taste the source. Until then enjoy Mangia Mi.

Yelp
I will fist fight anyone who reviews without 5 stars. My lover and I stopped in while we were staying at the Solage. I've lived in Brooklyn, I grew up around Providence Italians, and this place has some of the best pasta/pizza I've ever had. Keep your kids at home, enjoy the cuisine and bop your damn head. Amazing, lovely, splendid. Chicken Piccata 5 stars Goat Cheese, Pepper and Honey Pizza 5 stars

Yelp
A great stop for a Friday night dinner in Calistoga! My friends and I were craving some Italian food and found Mangia Mia. We came here because we saw some of the other reviews which made us laugh out loud, and we were curious to see for ourselves. The menu is written on a chalkboard daily and changes based on what is in season and what the chef is cooking that day. They don't have a freezer because everything is kept and cooked super fresh - and you can tell. We ordered the mini meatball, ricotta with honey and fried goat cheese for appetizers. Appetizer tray was delicious and well portioned. For entrees, we ordered broccoli, creamy Tuscan chicken pasta, and the goat cheese pizza. Both the pizza and pasta were super yummy, really fresh, and massively portioned. Our server was so friendly and not awkward. She was perfectly confident, and knew so much about dietary allergies and restrictions. We also appreciated that there were no crying kids around ;) definitely 10/10 recommend Mangia Mia for the casual, family style atmosphere, the fresh food, and fantastic service.

Yelp
Great food , friendly service. Highly recommend this place. One of the better restaurants in Calistoga that we've been too. Will definitely go back.

Jeff F.

Yelp
My family and I were craving Italian food, so we tried Mangia Mi on a busy Monday night without a reservation. The hostess welcomed us warmly and quickly seated us in the bar area. It was great to hear that it's happy hour all night on Monday nights, so I ordered a glass of their house red wine, which was quite good. The food portion was impressive - I mean, who doesn't love a large artisanal pizza?! But seriously, the mushroom pasta and pizza were both delicious. It was a great find and I would definitely go back again, especially during happy hour when the prices are even more reasonable.

Eugene S.

Yelp
The mushrooms pizza... oily? Try if you'd prefer. Service was great though as well as ambience.l

Yelp
Wow! My daughter and I were in Calistoga and found this gem, she had pizza and I had pasta. It was so fresh and good that we order it the next day to take home with us! We will be back soon!

Yelp
Delicious food! Home made pasta was amazing. Chicken Parmesan's was delicious and hearty

Yelp
The kids both remarked that this was the worst meal we had had in many years. And that takes some doing. We ordered a bunch of items on the menu, including the Greek salad and the Caprese salad. A typical Caprese salad is sliced mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil drizzled with olive oil. Oddly enough, this restaurant is too cheap to give you olive oil with any of your food unless you specifically ask. Both of the salads were drenched in vinegar, and vinegar only, so much of it that our throats were on fire. I we also ordered pasta with shrimp, apple news dish, and garlic cheese bread. The pasta with garlic was drowning in butter, but not flavor. Even the cheesy garlic bread was gross. Not sure how you ruined that, but this place managed to. There is no ambience to speak of. All of this would be fine if this were a cheap restaurant. But it's a midpoint Italian joint, and the food is not worth the price. The saving grace of this restaurant is that Customer Service is very kind, staff is attentive and friendly. But if you want delicious food, skip it.

Laurie L.

Yelp
Great service. Huge portions. Music was fun too. The shrimp scampi half order was a perfect size.

Yelp
Well they have a great story about two women who run an Italian restaurant in a small town in Puerto Rico who visit Calistoga and decide to open an Italian place there. So--limited experience in a totally different market. It shows. We have tried several dishes here. None were very good. What amounts to a typical somewhat expensive Wine Country restaurant that isn't great. Combined with the "Calistoga curse" that condemns virtually everyplace there to overpriced mediocrity. Sad. I'm
google avatar

Katie K.

Yelp
Great (new to me) family owned Italian spot right off the main road in Calistoga. All of the dishes are served family style and the menu is constantly changing based on what local ingredients are available and fresh. We opted for a couple of the fresh pasta dishes, one of them was a chicken piccata, and the other was a shrimp scampi. Both of them were unbelievably good. They had an extensive antipasto menu and pizza menu, and the desserts look pretty incredible as well. I can't wait to come back and try again (without my children)-- but I will say this is a great place for family dinner or date night.

Yelp
First visit back to the Calistoga area since the pandemic. The food landscape has changed a bit, certainly due to COVID and inflation. A newcomer we decided to try was Mangia Mi. Offering salads, appetizers, small plates and house made pasta and pizza, it is suited to all hungry levels. Want to nibble? They can accommodate. Want to have choices and mix things up? Yes. I wanted to try their meatballs but a greedy customer ordered everything they had for a party. I guess they must be good. We weren't really hungry so we shared the calamari with/sliced pickled pepper with a delicious marinara to dip them in. The calamari was nicely breaded and cooked nicely. Adding the sliced pickled peppers was different. I can't say I liked the combination but that's my issue. I would say the same about the calamari and marinara. Both stood alone and were delicious. Adding a squeeze of the supplied burnt lemon helped break up the richness of the sauce, but my preference is good I a sauce a little more on the tart and citrus side, like a tart spiced cocktail or tarter. No knock here on the dish. We also ordered the Caesar salad. Make sure more than one person wants some because it is huge. It's whole leaf so be prepared to use a knife and fork. The croutons and the dressing were really good. Dressing distribution could have been better and more added. Other than that good. The staff were very friendly and the space quite intimate. Will we go back? Indeed! Solid 4 stars.

Yelp
The service was great - host was nice and the sever was upbeat, stayed on top of orders with a full house. The food was ok - we ordered the arugula and prosciutto pizza. It was very salty, and I typically like heavily seasoned food but this was too much. The prosciutto was baked in the cheese which is different from other pizzerias I've been to.

Yelp
Had a blast here!! We literally came in at 5:59 pm and the staff honored the happy hour prices (which end at 6 pm). I immediately had respect for them based on that alone; a lot of places would not be so accommodating. Everyone who assisted us was awesome, including Donovan, Ellie, Grace, and Kara! We had great wine and food here as well as excellent service. I highly recommend the pasta with creamy mushroom sauce paired with a nice red wine. We also tried a plain cheese pizza and it was GREAT! All the food here is fresh and made daily. Zero complaints regarding food and drink from us! I also really enjoyed the music here - the playlist fit the atmosphere well and kept us in a happy mood! I would be back here in a heartbeat if I didn't live on the East Coast. Next time I'm somewhere on the West Coast, I'll be stopping in here again! :)

Yelp
I stopped by with a group of friends after leaving Castello di Amorosa on my bday on 5/5 and was greeted by Elly who was amazing from start to finish. I loved that there are options to order large or what they call "full" dishes where you can share family style and you can also order small for someone who may want or need something different. My main purpose for this review is to mention how everything we ordered was 10/10!!! I can't recall the last time I went to a restaurant where multiple dishes were perfection, but this place is it!! And OMG the Butter Pecan Bread Pudding (I think that's what it's called) is to die for!! SO delicious! Such a pleasant first time experience with the staff and food. I will absolutely be back again!

Yelp
I was in the mood for Italian and stumbled upon this spot. Homemade noodles are what sealed the deal. They make their home, so it's hard to say no to that. I happened to come at the right time and met the chef, who told me that the menu changes daily. That just made my order much harder to settle upon. I ended up getting the shrimp scampi, the homemade foccacia, and the chocolate chip bread pudding. Let's just say that food left me ready to sleep, which meant it was just that good. The focaccia was so flavorful and just the perfect amount of parmesan. The pasta was really tasty and the bread pudding was enough for 3 people. Definitely looking forward to trying this place again.

Yelp
I had the best experience! The owner is Rebecca, she is funny and very welcoming. The manager Ellie is a walking history book of anything you want to know about Calistoga (good stuff going on). We did some wine tasting before dinner and discovered a few interesting things about Sauvignon Blanc -dinner portions are generous. This is my go to place anytime I visit Calistoga. So fun

Yelp
My husband, I, and some friends were traveling from Oregon to attend a wedding in Calistoga over the weekend and had made a reservation at Mangia Mi. We were really looking forward to attending because the menu looked amazing and we love to try pasta dishes in new places, but unfortunately that morning resulted in a last minute emergency vet visit that caused us to have a late start to our 8 hour journey. I called the restaurant and although they have a clear 24 hour cancellation fee, the owner was incredibly understanding that we were doing everything we could to get there on time but just couldn't physically make it and she took care of us. Due to her kind nature and consideration we will definitely be back to have a delicious experience at Mangia Mi and thank the owner personally!
