The 26 Best Restaurants in Panama City | Eater

"Located on Calle Uruguay, Mangle is a bar and eatery that feels like a cool friend’s living room, filled with curated details that reflect the artistic backgrounds of its creative owners. The menu is just as thoughtfully crafted, a mix of garlicky shrimp baguettes, birria tacos (available with on gluten-free cassava tortillas), veggie summer rolls, latkes served with whipped feta and apple compote, and cheeseburger sliders from Anti Burger (locally famous for its bold flavors and ties to activist movements). On the drink side, the mezcal paloma perfectly complements Panama’s tropical weather, while the Strawberry Letter milk punch, infused with strawberries and cream, is a nostalgic nod to Chiriquí’s famously sweet berries. Natural wine fills out the laid-back yet sophisticated vibe." - Jorge Chanis

Service was great. Drinks were a great price. Do not sleep on the food. It was very good. We had the dumplings and the Philly crunch wrap! So good

Food was ok, the place is cozy and the service was very good. A good place for drinks and chill. Highly recommended for a relax night with friends.

This place is underrated; prime service, great happy hour deals, lunch specials kill it on price. I had the fried chicken tenders, asked for more sauce because it was amazing then finished my meal off with the shrimp tacos. Spicy salsa is truly hot; makes you sweat and lips burn so good. Barely anyone in here; staff is very friendly. Better than a lot of similar food I’ve had in the US. Well done Mangle

The place is amazing. It is my third time here, and it has gotten better every time. The service was excellent from the first time here. The cocktails are very good and well thought out. We have only tried two of the dishes but they were very good. Very chill vibe definitely good to stop with friends for a drink.

Fabulous spot that an expat recommended that we meet up. It was clearly Christmas 🎄 time when we visited and the place is All-In on the Navidad 🪅 theme. Not just well designed and executed as a cute Tiki bar, but the service was amazing, the food and drinks were delicious too. My new favorite spot in Panama City.

Mangle is currently my favorite bar anywhere. The fact that it is less than a 5 minute walk from my apartment is a huge added bonus, but even if I had to take an Uber I would go at least once per week. They have an excellent happy hour (12pm-7pm), great lunch specials (entree, salad or fries, and a drink for $10), actual bourbon (Bulleit), proper cocktail ice, and great service. Also, the decor and music are a definite vibe, it's clean and well air-conditioned, and there is also a nice little patio for enjoying the weather. My only complaint is they had a special brunch a couple of weeks ago and I would really like it to be a regular thing. I would go every week (in addition to going for drinks and lunch at least once per week). They make an excellent and proper Old Fashioned, which makes my husband extremely happy. I personally enjoy the Moscow Mule, but I am also ready to start trying some new things. The birria sandwich is magic. Everything else we have eaten so far has been excellent, but the birria sandwich is next-level.

Saw rave reviews on the restaurant and worth the 25 min walk from hotel. The happy hour lunch was served till 5 and we got the chicken curry rice bowl with plantain chips and the birria sandwich. Both were phenomenal and I highly recommend! Sangria and Panamá beer were delicious refreshments.

Went here after a recommendation to have lunch. The service was friendly but very slow. A bowl with rice and fresh tuna took 25 minutes, an espresso 15 minutes. That's really very long for lunch time. I ordered extra tuna for $5 and received a table spoon extra. That is very little value for the money considering the market price of 5$ for a Libra. The atmosphere is nice and the coffee was good but it's hard to give more than 3 stars.
