Today is my second time dining at Mango Haus on Truxton. I had the seafood tacos which were amazing and a few weeks ago I had their chilaquiles for breakfast. The flavors are to die for - fresh, flavor packed and Blue Zones inspired. The service is friendly and attentive and the ambiance is relaxed and colorful. Definitely one of my new favorite spots!

Took my mom here for Mother’s Day and ordered the cafe de olla, mole appetizer, chilaquiles, and seafood tacos. Everything was tasty. I especially appreciate the vegan options.

We stopped at Mango Haus in Bakersfield for lunch and it was am amazing experience. The service was wonderful, everyone was very nice and food came reasonably quickly. It did take us a minute to find the place, GPS can be kind of misleading. However, the food was great! The meal was perfectly light which was good for the upcoming road-trip! The meal was also very healthy which was good just in general. I would definitely suggest Mango Haus to anyone wanting to get a taste of Bakersfield!! Thank you Mango Haus!!’

We went these this last weekend and they had this younger Hispanic lady as our waitress. She asked if we’re from the hotel, we said no. She explained they have a different menu and we asked if it’s any good, she said “no it’s not” making us second guess eating there. We ordered the bottomless mimosas and she was very judgmental. Telling us it was too early, and when asked if we wanted food she also said “or is this just an alcohol thing”. When we have already told her we would be ordering a few dishes over the span of our time there. The food was great as always, the drinks were good. The service was trash from her, their other staff was great.

There’s so much positive about this place. From the moment we walked in all the staff greeted us and the server was amazing. The decor of the place is soooo cute! The atmosphere is well lit and a fun place to be. I went with the bottomless mimosa and the flavors ranged from mango, orange, lemonade, and guava. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars was that I had asked for no peppers in my dish and still got some. There was a little bit of an extended wait for our mimosas to be refilled as well. Other than that this place was really impressive!

It's definitely a must go. Food: 10/10 I had the chilaquiles Rojas, and they were delicious. Great spicy taste. Drinks: 8/10 Their cocktails were great as well, although their Bloody Mary mix was too salty for my liking. The passion fruit Martini is a must try. Atmosphere: 8/10 The restaurant is clean with nice decor. The music is a bit loud, making it hard to hear everyone at the table. However, the solution is to head outside to their covered patio. It's a great option, especially on a cool day. Overall, it's a great place yo bring the family or have brunch with your friends.

Google
I stayed at the Best Western and purchased the breakfast through them. The chilaquiles rojo wasn’t on the offered as part of the BW deal but they offered it at half the menu price. The chilaquiles rojo was mildly spicy, the egg was perfectly cooked, and the side of beans was a nice addition.

Yelp
Had the Haus Tacos, which was fantastic. However showed up at noon on a weekday. Granted it was busy but they were understaffed. Only had a bartender/waiter. Took 55 minutes to get my food (2 tacos).

Yelp
We got an opportunity to try out the Mango Haus off 700 Truxtun next to the Best Western. If you haven't been here yet, you're in for a treat. We spoke to one of the owners, Johnny, and he told us his passion is to provide Bakersfield with healthy, fresh, quality meals. This is a place where you can meet with your friends and family for delicious non-restricted meals as well as yummy plant-based alternatives, gluten free and soy free choices. Where everyone has a large selection of options to choose from. The vibe is upbeat and airy, with a tropical feel I had the Bowl of Happiness off the Brunch menu which was light and full of fresh fruit. My partner had the Cauliflower Pesto Pasta of the lunch menu that was so good, I kept stealing bites. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying a variety of things in the future (especially the Oaxacan Mole Nachos- sounds delicious!!) My husband has a friend who is vegan and they have struggled to find a spot that doesn't limit their selections one way or the other. I'm excited to share this gem with them for future outings!

Yelp
Food was good, but not spectacular. A friend like this place because of vegan options, otherwise I probably wouldn't venture out to this restaurant. Server takes order and delivers meal to the table and that's as much that I can say about the service. Its not been ever super busy the few times I've been there- lunch and dinner. Also, the hours of operation are limited and sometimes not even open when it's supposed to be. Ambiance is nice. It's a small space with indoor and outdoor seating. It's walking distance from the convention center. Clean and tidy each time I've been there.

Yelp
Such a hidden gem. Everything I've had the pleasure of consuming here has been excellent. The service is top notch. Check these photos and come see for yourself. You'll not be disappointed.

Yelp
A Mexican brunch spot conveniently located across the Amtrak station before my trip. The interior is cute with a half-outdoor space. Plates are moderately priced, and the brunch cocktails if available, are so affordable! I wish they had had the Mexican Chocolate shown on the menu today. You can try their banana cream cake w strawberry which was tasty. Note that they do not have a dessert menu, so be sure to ask your server!

Yelp
We hadn't been to the Mango Haus in quite some time, but decided to bring my family to share in the culinary experience. Once again, it did not disappoint. Everything was prepared with the freshest ingredients, the staff was attentive, and the atmosphere is open and chic. From the bottomless mimosas in various flavors to the signature cocktails, Mango Haus knows what they are doing.

Yelp
I'll start this saying, I miss Manuel's. That's not a dig on Mango Haus. I met a friend for brunch. Love the decor, the natural light transports you somewhere else. It's like you're on an island vacation. The bottomless mimosas helped. The food is flavorful. Get the Patatas Bravas (spicy potatoes) omg... yum. Avocado smash was flavorful and the side salad was refreshing after the heaviness of the toast. Friendly staff. Great for brunch.

The food is great! The guys take really good care of customers and the ambience is very pleasant Highly recommended!

Yelp
I ordered breakfast tacos, a cup of coffee and an iced tea. The breakfast tacos were fantastic. Service was great. But to charge $5 for one cup of coffee and another $5 for an iced tea, and never bother to offer refills is ridiculous. Both are water-based and for $10, I could make coffee and iced tea for a month. Very noisy atmosphere too. My bill was $28 for 2 breakfast tacos, one single serving of chips and a silver bullet cup of salsa, 1 coffee and 1 iced tea. No thank you. If you must eat here, stick with water to drink.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and a simple, yet delicious looking menu. Clean food, clean restaurant, and quick, friendly service. Blue Zone dining at it's finest.

Yelp
We went with friends on sunday for brunch. We didn't have a reservation, but we were seated promptly. The ambiance is nice and different. The servers are smiling and friendly. The restaurant has a limited menu. Just fee dishes. There are no sandwiches in the brunch menu. I got the chilauiles rojoz. It was packed with a lot of flavors. It was my first time trying the dish, so I couldn't really judge how good it was prepared. I also had the Havana mojito, and it was on the strong side. The place provides a good experience, but if you are looking for more options on the menu, I would try a different place.

Yelp
We love the decor! It has little touches of genius that make it feel special. Genisis & Miguel were incredible servers! We loved the food and cocktails too. Will rerun when in BAK next time.

Yelp
This is a coworker's favorite place for brunch / lunch so I treated her here for her birthday. I would normally not go to a vegetarian restaurant, so I'm glad she suggested this place to dine. She has tried everything on the menu and says you can't go wrong. The burrito is her favorite. She also likes the nachos. Our other friend got the seafood tacos and she said they were yummy. Another friend said her cauliflower pesto was to die for, and I will get that next time. I got the Cobb salad which was great, but unwisely should have listened more carefully to my friends suggestions which I found suspect because she is a vegetarian. We got the guacamole which was amazing, and we finished it up before I remembered to take a picture lol. Next time we're going to come earlier to lounge in the bar area, which is beautiful. Classy. Order bloody Mary's spicy was a suggestion of our server, and if you like sweeter, gotta get the the mango margarita. Great location downtown. Not a ton of parking so if you can walk from work it's a good idea to do so.

Yelp
The moment you step inside, it feels like you're entering another world with its beautiful decor. The atmosphere is fantastic, and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The food is simply amazing--the combination of flavors is so well-balanced and delicious. So many flavorful and healthy options. The staff is friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. As a guest of the Best Western Plus Hill House next door, you can even get a breakfast voucher, which is a great bonus. Highly recommend!

Yelp

Yelp
Nice environment, super friendly staff, and delicious, healthy food options. I ordered the patatas bravas (a traditional food staple in Spain) and it was made perfectly. The brava sauce was delicious, spicy, and on point. I also had the avocado toast, which came with a delicious side salad with house made dressing. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious. Husband had the tortilla de patata (another traditional dish in Spain), and an order of chilaquiles. The sauce used on the chilaquiles was flavor full, authentic freshly made, and absolutely delicious! No canned stuff. It was tricky finding this place as it is located in a hotel and our GPS sent us to a dead end street behind the hotel. Glad we found it though...it's a gem that serves delicious, healthy meal options.

Yelp
We loved all the flavors and the atmosphere of Mango Haus! We felt like we were back in the Caribbean!! Mango haus is a delicious fusion experience with tropical, Mexican, and American vibes throughout. The mole was the best my husband has ever had. It was juicy, flavorful, and a huge piece of chicken in mole sauce that he could not finish. I loved the grilled Caesar chicken salad. The grilled flavor of the romaine was so Unique and made me want to eat the whole thing, down to the last leaf. The toast appetizer was good but very small and the cake desert was fresh but nothing amazing. We will be back to try some of their other entrees and especially to try their brunch!

Yelp
Loving this new restaurant in town. It has everything you would think of in great Bakersfield fashion: -ambiance -friendly service -unique dishes -delicious cocktails My favorite thing on the menu is the Mango Aguachiles, they literally are to die for, soo delicious. I also enjoyed their flautas, mole and pizza. Now that you know that the food is delicious, let's talk about the drinks, exceptional! I love how different and thought out they are. My favorite is the mango margarita with mezcal. There is something tropical and charming about this place that just doesn't disappoint, definitely check it out you will not regret it!

Yelp
For a delicious, tasty and healthy breakfast option Mango Haus is a great choice. Upon entering restaurant immediately greeted by the host; then by the server. The inside is decorated cute and I dig the vibe. Great place to relax and catch up with some friends. I ordered the tortilla Espaola.... Very good and filled with veggies. Reminded me of an American quiche. Comes with a side salad; after eating this felt light and healthy; ready for the day. Parking lot can get full fast; however there is extra parking in lot closer to hotel. Would I come again? Yes absolutely!

Yelp
This is such a beautiful restaurant. Whether you are looking for a quiet location to have a mother daughter breakfast, seeking a perfect spot for a quick business lunch, or planning a group event Mango Haus is a great choice! With elegant old world ambience perfectly balanced with modern touches, you feel welcomed and comfortable as soon as you walk in the doors. The restaurant is family owned and you will often see the owners adorable little son smiling happily at guests. They craft delicious dishes and beverages that are uniquely theirs and have several healthy options. Their food is fresh and locally sourced when possible. I visited the restaurant on Thursday for a networking event. The owners specially prepared a delicious meal for us. The starter was a crisp and flavorful caesar chicken salad with a mixture of iceberg and butter lettuce (?). It was tossed with shaved Parmesan, tangy dressing, croutons, and surprisingly grilled chicken! Delicious!! Our next course was a very flavorful rice noodle dish tossed with a piquant peanut and yoghurt sauce. The flavor was elevated with cilantro, lemon juice (?), broiled grape tomatoes. Topped with juicy succulent slices of roasted chicken, this was delicious! To me, this was slightly reminiscent of the Filipino dish pancit, which I love. My description does not do it justice but please take my word for it, this was yummy! There were about 30 women in attendance and we all thoroughly enjoyed it!! The chef then brought out a chocolate mousse cake, which was layered with a chocolate base, topped with a very light and fluffy chocolate mousse, and drizzled in chocolate sauce. In the description it sounds like a heavy dish but it was actually really light and not overly sweet. I don't know how they managed that, but whoever made this has some serious skills! A few bites of this made for a decadent ending to a delicious meal. Perfectly located on Truxtun just down from the convention center, so be sure to make Mango Haus a destination for your next breakfast, brunch, or lunch!!

Yelp
Great lunch and breakfast. Coffee is perfect! Ambiance is cute. Service can br a little slow, but they are so nice!

Yelp
I wish I could give Mango Haus a higher rating but sadly, my experience wasn't as stellar as the experience of other Yelpers on here. Our waitress wasn't the friendliest and her service definitely fell flat. My husband ordered the unlimited mimosas option for brunch ($18) and he had to basically hound the waitress for a refill the whole time we were there, and at one point she got a little snappy. Forget attentive or caring service; certainly not the best impression. The place is cute enough and the food was good, but nothing special. Kind of basic flavors and low seasoning on the chilaquiles and the haus breakfast. I was excited for the guanabana (soursop) cocktail since it's more of a tropical fruit, but it was just okay, nothing made it particularly unique. Perhaps it's a better experience to come for dinner (and with better customer service) but frankly, I'm not sure we'll be back.

Yelp
The dessert menu is a must MUST! We got a banana cake and it was tremendous! The cauliflower tacos were large and filling and the Palm Springs burger was like a vegan in and Out burger, amazing. The ambiance is super chic and fun. The server was knowledgeable and had great drink suggestions. I got a guava dream it was pink and wonderful!
google avatar

Yelp
Fun atmosphere. I especially appreciated the vegan selections. The house made patty was flavorful and the toppings were fresh. The service was a little slow, but overall a good experience.

Yelp
Good Ambience. We took a little detour from I-5 while returning from LA, and it was worth it. We loved our server's hospitality and recommendations. The options are limited, so they are minimalist, but they are all good choices for different taste palates.

Yelp
We purchased the chilaquiles from the brunch menu as well as the fish tacos from the lunch menu. We had the mocktail spritz and the Colombian coffee to start. The food came out relatively quickly as well. To start off, the spritz was very refreshing if you're looking for a non alcoholic option! The Colombian coffee was very fresh and I enjoyed the dark roast very much. The chilaquiles totopos was freshly made and were very crunchy! I enjoyed the pickled onion acting as acidity in the dish. The beans on the side could have definitely been more flavorful but over all the chilaquiles was a 4/5 for me. Next, the fish tacos were scrumptious! I can tell that the fish ( I think tilapia? ) has been marinated and the sauce was incredibly flavorful!! The red cabbage added such a great crunch in the tacos as well. The mango chimichurri sauce on top of the tacos is what added the slight acidity to the dish and just completed the tacos overall! The side totopos chips were equally delicious when dipped in the salsa it came with. I would give these tacos a 5/5. The atmosphere of this place was very vibrant and bright! I loved the ambience and the color combination of neutral colors of the walls! It made me feel comfortable. The only thing I would recommend is using a different color taco holder. The plates and bowls were very beautiful pieces but the neon green color of the taco holders took away from the overall look and plating. Finally, the staff were very very friendly and met all of our needs as well. This place exceeded my expectations! Definitely recommend to anyone passing through Bakersfield.

Yelp
We ordered three dishes. The Cauliflower pesto pasta, which is a kale/basil pesto pasta topped with roasted cauliflower tomatoes and parmesan. The Palm Springs Burger, which is an all American plant based haus-made burger, with provolone, romaine, tomato, pickles, crispy onions, avocado, and creamy mustard sauce. served with sweet potato fries. And the Oaxacan Mole nachos, which has crispy totopos smothered in homemade Mole sauce, topped with avocado, pickled onion, queso fresco sour cream, and micro greens. Out of the three I like the pesto pasta the best. The plant based burger was made of some sort of bean mixture, my vegetarian friend thought it was just ok. The Oxacan Mole nachos were interesting! I thought it was pretty good. The service was kind of weird, because when I first got there I was by myself and my two friends didn't show up until later. The host/waiter kept on questioning me whether they were coming or not. He even asks me at one point, "are you sure they are coming?" This was less than 5 mins after been seated. I'm not sure what to make of it, but it made me feel really weird that he would ask that question. It was probably an isolated incident, but just so you are aware if you plan to be the first to show up at your party that you might get questioned.

Yelp
Beautiful location with good food and service. You step in here, and it just feels clean. Place is spacious and you can find yourself pretty comfortable inside. The service was nice - we went when it wasn't busy, so I think we hit the jackpot with a server coming around pretty regularly. The food was good. If you come here, I recommend sticking with their fresh and healthy options. You can tell they really care about the quality of their fruits. Their chips are a bit lazy; overly deep fried chips that you might expect from a fast food taco truck. Overall, this place is a 4 star because I don't think anything that they provide meets their price point. Maybe I eat too healthy on the regular, but a bowl that I can make with $4 should probably be priced at $12 since we're at a nice restaurant that pays rent and its servers. But this place overpriced everything.

Yelp
If you are ready for some new options, yummy fresh, made with love and so very satisfying, this is your place. I LOVE the way it feels nothing at all like the other diners and breakfast joints in Bakersfield. The decor is fresh, airy, eclectic and modern. The vibe is welcoming, festive, chill and social all at the same time! Don't know how they nailed that, but they sure did. I've been twice in the last month and each time it's like a much needed vacation, a place you just want to stay and hang out. Now with the vibe all set, let's check the menu... I recommend... The citrus green tea, served hot and steeped fresh for you. The Sangria, it might be the best sangria in town. I've not had a better one, juicy and fresh, full of ripe fruit. The Columbian coffee, fresh brewed, so tasty; just try it without any cream or sugar, it's that good. The Pancakes, so amazing, you won't need to ask for any extra syrup, they are that amazing. The breakfast burrito, sausage options as well as substitute options, the salsa is so so great. The avocado smash, served with homemade feta, pepitas and a delish arugula salad. The Tortilla Española, a satisfying kind of frittata filled with potatoes. The service is superb and always with a smile, never fake.

Yelp
We were looking for a healthier option for lunch, and found this cute little spot! Food was SO SO SO good, (so good we didn't even get pics before we ate it all!) It is a little on the pricier side but I've found when you're wanting healthy & good, you pay for it. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Wow wow wow! Everything about this place is on point. The food is amazing full of different flavors that compliment each other so well it's fresh and clean. We ordered the bowl of happiness which had raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, toasted coconut and an amazing mango homemade sherbet. I mean, come on. We also got the chilaquiles with home made salsa and mango topping so yummy! We got to meet Mao the owner kindly shared his vision and his passions. This made the experience more pleasurable I Can not wait to come try the rest.

Yelp
I found this cute little place while on a lunch break from jury duty. It's such a cute light and airy place decorated like tropical classy with lots of leaves and gold. I was greeted immediately and was told to take a seat wherever. I didn't know anything about the place before I got there and as I looked over the small menu I quickly realized it's more of a healthy cuisine. After asking the waiter what their biggest seller was, he told me the chilaquiles Rojas. I really wanted to try the caramelized onions and bell peppers and zucchini in the Tortilla Espanola, so I went with that. Even though it was healthy it was delicious and I ate every last drop! I will definitely go again and give the chilaquiles a try and use my free Spritz card the owner gave me!

Yelp
Food was fantastic! It truly brought me sooo much joy seeing all the colors around me and on my plate. The lemonade was one of the best ones I've had in town and it is all so healthy :) It is definitely worth visiting! It's such a transformative space that it feels like you are out of town on a vacation. I love seeing the growth of Downtown and all the new businesses rising up; this one definitely sets the standard high! Customer service was great! Parking not so bad!

Yelp
A comfortable vibe, attentive service and high quality offerings make for a nice breakfast and lunch experience. Highly recommend the Sea Bass tacos!!

Yelp
Mango Haus is a great breakfast spot with a wide array if beverages and a great atmosphere. The breakfast burrito was very filling and the homemade chips were a great touch. The best part of the burrito was the salsa. Service was a bit slow but I would come back here the next time I am visiting Bakersfield.

Yelp
Found this lovely restaurant on Yelp. Great reviews and lived up to them. Great menus choices and the food and drinks were delicious. Lots of healthy choices as well as standard fare. The waitress was very pleasant and even exchanged my coffee when I ordered a cafe au lait instead of cafe con leche which was delicious. The portions are very generous and the ambiance is very upscale and cheerful. Definitely give it a try!

Yelp
The best chilaquiles in the city!! Their cafe de olla is so good Also the protein shake is delicious.

Yelp
Okay... I think I may have found my new favorite brunch spot. (This is a soft opening, so just starting with breakfast for now!) First off, I used to come here when it was Manuel's.. (rip) As soon as I walked in, I noticed how CUTE the decor was. It was a vibe for sure!! The service was just as good as food, from the host, to the server, owner and cook.. honestly I think almost every staff member came and asked how everything was and if anything could be changed. They're still in the slow opening process where criticism is wanted, but I couldn't think of a single thing that should be different. The food has great flavor, and the salsa... I could eat a whole jar of it. You can taste the quality and love that went into each dish. I thought the prices were great, can't beat $14 bottomless guava mimosas! Like what. I will be back for sure, and can't wait to try their dinner!

Yelp
I enjoySeafood Tacos it! The venue was cute inside and the menu items were unique and flavorful. The service was good and they did have a parking lot.

Yelp
I ordered delivery through Door Dash. I ordered Patatas and Pesto Pasta. Mango Haus sent me someone else's half eaten pancakes. How does this even happen??????? I called Mango Haus immediately and they tried to initially blame my door Dash driver saying they should have checked that my order was correct. That is blatantly false information and they should know better. Door Dash drivers aren't even supposed to open the bag. Mango Haus was very unapologetic and gave me zero resolution. I threw away the entire order. I will never eat there again.

Yelp
We first came to this restaurant a year ago and we're so impressed with the food! I had the oyster mushroom, which was deep-fried with a seasoned flour crust and was served in a bowl of coconut curry that was absolutely amazing. My husband had the octopus over tagliatelle, and was equally amazed. So we came back this year to see if we could enjoy those dishes again. First of all, we ordered the garlic confit appetizer with baguette and a fruit marmalade. What came to our table was pita wedges with the garlic and jam. The waiter acted like he had no idea that it wasn't supposed to be served with Pita. He went back to the kitchen and said that the baguettes weren't done baking. We sent it back. We ordered the potatoes bravas instead. They tasted delicious, but were stone cold. We just ate them. Then my husband's octopus came and it was served on penne pasta not tagliatelle. so disappointing. But mine was the worst. Instead of an airy beautiful, huge oyster mushroom, lightly floured and crispy, what I got was two leathery portobello mushroom caps. The coconut curry was still delicious but the waiter tried to tell me that that's a different type of oyster mushroom. We probably won't be coming back.

Yelp
Definitely a great spot for brunch! I was really impressed with the quality of our meals. We started out with an order of bottomless mimosa's. Tried several flavors: mango, guava and original oj. Super great deal at $14. I must've had about 4? But who is counting! I ordered the tortilla española which was soooo delicious and packed with tons of flavor. My friend ordered the avocado smash with a fried egg on top. I really have never liked any type of avocado toast, but this one was seasoned to perfection! We also shared these healthy and yummy pancakes! A must share item. Owner was kind and checked on us often. Great service!

Yelp
Went today for the first time. I went with an open mind because usually restaurants with a limited menu means that they have better food options quality over quantity which I love and respect. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with today's visit. My wife got an alcoholic drink that was delicious a family member had a lemonade and I had an Arnold Palmer. We ordered the potato appetizer for the table. It took a little bit for it to arrive, but no big deal it happens. Unfortunately, for us, the potato appetizer was lukewarm at best. We waited for the waitress to come back, which was a few minutes later to tell her about this, she happily took him back in a few minutes later brought them back out the first one was nice and hot. Great tasting potatoes. Unfortunately, the rest of the potatoes were warmer than lukewarm, but not as hot as the first hot one. I ordered the pesto pasta and substitute it with chicken. The pesto pasta was pretty good, but I had a very acidic aftertaste it was not because ofthe sunrise tomatoes. My wife ordered the seafood tacos and were mediocre. My mother-in-law ordered side fruit. It looked beautiful and presentation but, ironically the fruit was warm and not ripe. Most likely will not come back to eat, but it is a very beautiful design inside. I may return for drinks.

Yelp
The food was delicious! The service extremely friendly and quick. Highly recommend to any one especially those in the Gluten-Free or Vegan community.

Yelp
We've lived in Bako for almost 40 years and never entered the "Hill House". Atmosphere was fresh and airy with pleasant spanish music playing. 2 of us went for breakfast on a weekday so no crowds. Server (Miguel) was friendly, prompt and helpful--water refills and checking on us often. My Wife had the avo smash and I had the chilaquiles rojos. We were first struck by the artful presentation of both of our meals. Avo smash was ample/delicious with lots of avocado and a salad to boot. My chilaquiles were excellent--a perfect blend of rojos spice (mild) and sweet (mango bits) as well as some pickled veggies on top--with 2 over medium eggs. It will be hard for me to go there again and order any other breakfast.
