Our Friends next door The GreyDuck Salon recommended this Amazing Thai restaurant!! My two sons and I have been working our way through the menu (we have been there 5x's in two weeks) and I have to be honest; as a person who never chooses a favorite anything I am inclined to say this is my favorite restaurant! I haven't been treated to a meal or service like this since our family friends closed their Vietnamese restaurant many years ago. This food is Made With LOVE 😘

I've been here 3 times now and every time the food has been good! I love the ladies that work here, and I love the mango sticky rice. I got the panang curry today and it was good but it is SO SWEET. So sweet. Hard to finish.

Google
Great food all around! It was a little small but decorated very well and so comfortable to do sit in dining. It's a perfect in-between of a casual dinner and a dress up date night. I loved the food, they served a peanut sauce with the mango spring rolls which were to die for! Overall the sauces were runnier and sweeter when compared to the stickier more savory style of pad Thai that I'm used to. It was still delicious! But I know some people have an opinion about that type of thing.

Was craving Thai Food Friday Night for Date Night & we had an amazing experience at Mango Thai - St Paul, MN 🤩 It's a super small space about 6-8 tables however it's super cozy & the customer service was amazing! • Shrimp Tempura Pad Thai: so UNIQUE the batter of the shrimp tempura was perfect & flavorful! The pad thai noodles itself was very very soft & saucyyy✨ with fresh bean sprouts. We didn't think the fish sauce was needed at all🤗 • Chicken Tom Yum Soup: very strong lemongrass flavor which I love so much, the sourness was definetly there, so flavorful & definetly needed for the cold weather! Was salty enough to enjoy with rice! • Thai Papaya Salad: Not your original spicy thai papaya however it was still very delicious! The waitress informed us that it's not the traditional style but I loved how extra-peanuty the enhancement was! I didn't mind, it was still very spicy and crunchy! • Green Curry w Beef: we were craving curry & this satisfied our cravings! Defunetly warm, smooth, not too rich and the beef was tendor! Was perfect poured over rice✨ • Thai Tea: how can you not get thai tea at a thai restaurant? No where else makes perfect thai tea! 🥳

Google
We LOVE the food here, especially the shrimp pad Thai, mango spring rolls, and the rama spinach peanut curry. SO GOOD. Cashew chicken is another favorite. Service however is just okay, and atmosphere leaves something to be desired. It’s very clean and nicely decorated, there just aren’t ever many people dining in making it feel more like a takeout joint. Despite this, we enjoy coming here.

With lots of choices for Thai nearby, this is a hidden gem. Fresh ingredients, cooked well, and lovely plating. Worth the money and the squeeze into their tiny seating area. I've had a handful of menu items and have yet to be disappointed. Tender chicken and beef, crisp greens and veggies, excellent noodle textures and sauce ratios. The mango in the spring rolls is a great touch!

Google
When I come here I usually get green curry with fried rice. This time I decided not to due green curry because the chicken is always rubbery and hard like they leave it out for hours uncovered and not in the fridge. I’ve ate that chicken before being like that and I have gotten “SICK”. This time I just went for fried rice. I asked for it to be no egg due to a severe egg allergy were I go into anaphylactic shock. I make sure to tell them how serious the food allergies are and when I get my food and bring it home it had egg in it. This has happened to me a few times now from here. I called to try to get my money back due to that’s not what I ordered and they played games telling me each time I had to call back. The lady was very dismissive and rude when I tried to talk to her about the situation she hung up on me. This really could have put me in the hospital. You guys need to due better. I STILL WANT MY MONEY BACK.

Google
We Bitesquad food in and Mango Thai is great every time. I love the green curry. The right balance of spice, the vegetables are perfect, and the rice to sauce/curry ratio is just right! Update: we ate in the restaurant today and received exceptional service. Beautiful people, generous portions, fresh ingredients. I was mindfully served the soup as the guest which was impressive. We also appreciated the cast iron kettle the jasmine tea was prepared in and that it was served on a bamboo try with enough mugs for the table. Excellent.

Yelp
Clean ingredients that taste remarkably fantastic. It is so hard to find wholesome healing foods that taste truly remarkably delicious and they offer that here. So, this is a gem of a place. I got the Tom Kha coconut curry mushroom chicken lemongrass soup. Yummy in my tummy in every way. Fresh cut veggies, I swear I taste kaffir leaves imbued in the broth. I could not make this better at home & its great to get to go out & have it made from scratch at a restaurant. Mango Thai! I asked for the ginger, if they use it, to be left out & they could. Versatility is probable if you have food sensitivities or allergies. Bon Apetite!

Yelp
Mango Thai was an unexpected gem! Two of my friends and I went on a Saturday evening for dine in service. We were able to park on the street directly outside the restaurant. The restaurant is not large but offers a fair amount of cozy seating. We sat in a booth by the front door and were amazed at how warm we were given the cold day we had experienced. Our waitress was great, she was attentive and fun! My sister and I both ordered the red curry with tofu and it was delicious. Possibly one of the best curries I have had in my life. It had the perfect amount of flavor and spice without feeling oily and heavy. Our friend ordered the pad Thai which she devoured! Luckily it was mango season when we visited Mango Thai so we were able to order the mangos with sticky rice. It was so tasty and creamy. I am so excited to eat here again!

James L.

Yelp
Nice, cozy ambiance. Staff was quick to greet, seat, and service was on point throughout. The mango spring rolls came out exactly like pictured on the Menu and came with 2 delicious sauces. I got the Rad Na Seafood and the seafood and gravy were fantastic. My Partner got the spicy basil Entree which was also great. Very great experience overall!

Deborah E.

Yelp
I used to absolutely love mango thai - always on point until this last time. First I was asked to sit outside because I had my service dog with, which by law they're not supposed to do but I didn't wanna make a big deal out of it so we went outside. Then if that weren't bad enough we were treated to really shitty service. Long delays of anyone returning to our table to wait on us. We ordered something to drink & even that was off - not sure what they were trying to pass off as coke but whatever it was was nasty. Moving on to the food - I've always ordered the same thing when I've gone there; chicken shrimp basil. It was cold and horrible- I couldn't believe it - i barely took a couple bites, thats how bad it was. Needless to say I won't be going back which is unfortunate because I used to love that place.

Yelp
ATMOSPHERE: I think there are a total of 7 tables inside with a little high top bar that has a few seats and a cash register. In my opinion the tables are too big for the space and it feels a little awkward. There isn't a paper towel dispenser in the bathroom so I used tissues to dry my hands. SERVICE: I think they were short staffed when we went it, but we were not very welcome. We waited about 10 minutes upon walking in before anyone came out of the kitchen and when we asked for a table for two the server looked at us funny and said like kinda late. It was 7:30 at that point and the hours stated it was open til 9 so I was very confused. After the first interaction things were smooth. FOOD: All the dishes besides appetizers desserts and drinks were around $15-$17 which I found to be a bit overpriced. The food was good, especially the curry dish my husband had but it was hard to justify. I did appreciate how large the Thai tea and pad Thai were.

Jennie S.

Yelp
Such great food and friendly helpful staff!! The curry was delicious and they customized it for us! We will return!!!

Deb C.

Yelp
Mango Thai has delicious food and great service! One of our favorite places! I highly recommend Tom Yum!

Emma B.

Yelp
Food felt a little overpriced for what it was - especially simple things like tom kha that's a lot cheaper at other restaurants. Also the pad Thai was weirdly... wet? Like the noodles were basically swimming in sauce in a way that was a little unusual and unpleasant. Vibes were ok tho

Shelby S.

Yelp
Wow!! I am so impressed. First off our server was extremely nice. She kept checking in on us and made sure we liked everything. Also, the food was extremely tasty. We tried the mango spring rolls which had mango, veggies, and shrimp inside. The two sauces they served them with were addictingly good!! Also, I ordered the Rama peanut spinach curry!!! Soooo good!!! Honestly, it was like delicious peanut sauce spread over fried tofu and spinach! The prices are similar to other Thai restaurants in the area! I would definitely go back now!!! So delicious!

Miranda S.

Yelp
LOVE this place! Delicious, kind service, and a nice quiet spot to eat. Big fan. Love the fresh spring rolls

Neil S.

Yelp
Pretty good takeout Thai with a lot of choices both in things you can order and in spice level. I ordered the pineapple fried rice and pad thai - my go-tos for any new thai place - and the fried rice was pretty good. I wouldn't say amazing, especially as the only Yelp takeout option seemed to be the shrimp pineapple fried rice which is fine but is more expensive than, say, a chicken or tofu protein. For $17 I felt it was overpriced if not bad; a less expensive and probably different protein version might align better. The pad thai was my lunch the next day, chosen for reheatability/leftover potential (some might argue the rice based dish is better for that). It reheated on the stove just fine - I discourage microwaving noodles unless you want them chewy - with a little oil and water, and tasted pretty good too though not amazing. Some of that can't entirely be put on the restaurant since I was reheating it, so I'll say it was pretty good and flavorful enough that it'd "scratch the itch".

John S.

Yelp
The food is good, however, the loudly blaring "wheels on the bus go round and round" children's song made it not enjoyable. i have children and love them but that was too much!

Jean H.

Yelp
Red curry was incredible-perfect amount of spice, the egg rolls were flaky, crisp golden brown with a delicious filling

Kat B.

Yelp
I recently ordered from Mango Thai and they had charged me more for one of my dishes. I called to let them know about the mistake and they without any questions told me to come and grab some new free fried rice. One of the best customer service experiences that I've received. Also, their fried rice is amazing! Super peppery and I love it that way! I'm excited to order from them in the future and see what all their other dishes are about!

Tonette C.

Yelp
I had a horrible experience at this place! We had to walk out after waiting over 40 minutes for the one and only one, waitress to look at us! She was so busy talking to the customers that were leaving, finally coming to us but took additional 20 minutes to place the order! We ended up walking out as other customers did the same. I'm so hungry right now, thanks for nothing! My tip to you is stay away from mango Tha

Yelp
We stopped going to Mango Thai several years back, as we found the food and service slipped with new ownership or management, however after seeing many 5 star reviews over the last 9 mos. we decided to give them another chance. So glad we did!! We did take out, so I can't speak to the service much, but the food was great!! We placed a large (8 ppl) take out order via Chownow around 6p on a Sat and within 5 min of submitting the order someone from the restaurant called to confirm our order and advise it would take about 30min more than what Chownow confirmed. This was not a problem, and we appreciated the call. We ordered several appetizers and 7 different dishes. Everyone loved their selection, but I would say the stand outs were then egg rolls and edamame for the appetizers. For entrees the Rama Spinach Peanut Curry, Spicy Basil Beef Fried Rice and Panang Curry were the stand outs! All entrees were a generous portion for one or 2 if smaller appetites. Highly recommend giving Mango aThai a try or re-try! We will definitely be back again soon.

Brett H.

Yelp
I had the Pad Woon Sen and my sister had the special which was pumpkin curry. Amazing... We will be back next week for the pumpkin curry again. Highly recommend.

Deborah S.

Yelp
Amazing place for thai food! I got the shrimp pad thai and mango spring rolls. I would go back just for the spring rolls. Also very friendly staff.

Mai V.

Yelp
The closest Thai restaurant Yelp was able to pulled up for me. If you love Mango and Thai food, check this one out. Inside is fairly small but it wasn't crowded on a Sunday afternoon so I was seated in the back booth table. Although there seems to be no signal indicating whether someone entered the restaurant or not, we waited patiently for about 5-8 minutes until we were noticed and seated. The waitress was friendly and interactive with my son - which was why we got the booth table in the back so he could play with his toys! So thoughtful . We also didn't have to wait long. The plates were beautifully plates. Had the Mango Shrimp Salad, Beef Pad See Ew and Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice. My favorite was the fried rice. The noodle dish was okay, not flavorful but I love the noodle and Chinese broccoli. She was also kind enough to take my dish into the back and pack it for me!

Deborah W.

Yelp
The most delicious pumpkin curry you have ever tasted! I look forward to it every year. They also have the best fresh spring rolls ( with mango) and peanut sauce In the Twin Cities.

Yelp
Yikes...many mistakes were made. Never coming here again. This was the only Thai place that was open in the area after 9:00pm on a Wednesday night so my boyfriend and I decided to give it a try... We were starving by that time. We stood around for a while and no one greeted us and there was no "seat yourself" sign so we waited there until I lost patience and peeked in the kitchen to ask if we need to wait or seat ourselves. Waitress finally came out and told us where to sit. Awkward standing there. We ordered massaman curry with beef and pad see iew with tofu. The waitress brought us a green curry with beef instead and she apologized and brought it back and put in the right order. Then she came back with an order of pad see mow instead of my pad see iew....She said she heard wrong and put in the wrong item...Again... She told me to try it to see if I like it because apparently it's the same as the pad see iew but different veggies... I was starving like I mentioned so I accepted it and they just cooked the broccoli for me on the side (since pad see iew has broccoli in it). Shocked that BOTH our orders were put in wrong. My boyfriend's massaman curry came and it tasted okay (I just tasted the liquid pard) but was not anything to write home about. To our surprise again, his green curry was brought to another customer a few tables down from us...how I know it's the same exact one is because he asked for vegetarian and he found beef inside! Which is why I'm guessing they tried to fish out the beef pieces and serve him that exact mistake curry that was brought back... that is terrible. As a pescatarian myself, I would be very mad to find meat in my dish that I didn't ask for. Let alone getting served a mistake dish from another table. Cutting corners is not right. Plus, that HAS to be a code violation... To top this all off, the waitress charged us for the extra rice and meat we asked for which is another mistake to do. No discounts were offered and I should've asked about that but in the end, it should have been offered to us with TWO mistakes in a row. Sigh...I won't be back. There are way better tasting and lower priced Thai places in St. Paul...this one isn't worth it. Consider this your warning!

Yelp
The food was great and the only saving factor in this experience. Will only order take away moving forward. Walked in, we were the only 2 people in the restaurant. Took the lady 5 mins to come over after she was the one who sat us to bring us waters.... 10 mins go by and she comes to take our order, but we had no menus. Waited 5 more mins ordered an app and 2 entrees and a soda. Again still the only people in the place. Took another 5 mins to bring drink. Food was being prepared... brought out our entrees. No app... so we started to eat. My fiancé was just about done with their entree before she comes to check on us. I requested more rice. And said we no longer wanted the app as she clearly forgot about it. Takes her another 5 mins to bring out the rice. Brings our check. The app was still on there and then was charged extra for the rice. I understand places need to make money and it is indeed extra... but for the below sub par service I expected an extra scoop of rice would've been comped. Again food was great but save yourself and just order take away.

Bridget C.

Yelp
Fun place but tiny so make reservations. Had shrimp tempura pad thai and delish. A little sweet for me so i would ask for less sauce. Adrianne had panang chicken curry. Also very good. Coming back.

Adrian Y.

Yelp
Went here last night with a group of 8. Glad we made reservations! This restaurant seats about 40 people total. Many were turned away at the door on a thursday. Everyone loved their entree's! The cashew chicken was great! And our personal favorite Thai dish, the massaman curry, was great! Portions are on the small side, but no matter, I think we have a new favorite Thai restaurant! The presentation of the food was also very good. You could dress up to go here or show up in jeans. Our staff was also very nice. And... Did I mention that this is byob? Yeah, awesome! We brought 5 bottles of wine and a mix and match of our favorite beers. They happily provided wine glasses for us too!! No corking fees!

A S.

Yelp
We live in the neighborhood and come here very often. We have tried different dishes and everything is spectacular. So delicious!!

Ann Marie F.

Yelp
Wowsers! Bad night? Bad new chef? Not ready for a Friday eve? Bad..: not quite terrible. Not close to good. Just bad. My seafood raad na was cold, and 2 shrimp... not much else. The pad Thai was only chicken, and dinner guest hates shrimp... the chicken tasted like shrimp. A friend, new to Thai cuisine, is now turned off forever. Why 2 Stars? It sure looked pretty... just tasted not good!

Rula G.

Yelp
I used to come to Mango Thai frequently and was excited to come back after a few years. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with both the service and my food. The waitress this evening was not very welcoming of me and my friends, and apparently I ordered a dish that came with no sauce and when I requested sauce be made at any additional cost, I was told that could not be done even though the restaurant was nearly empty. If anyone is looking for great Thai food I highly recommend On's Kitchen in St. Paul.

Lauren G.

Yelp
We found our favorite Thai place in St. Paul! This restaurant is small and cozy, so nice for a cold winter night. The tofu in all the dishes was done well (always a concern for me) and all of the flavors of the curries, appetizers, and entrees were fresh and tasty. We ordered the Panang Curry and it was spicy and delicious without going overboard on flavors. The Rama Peanut sauce dish was also excellent and surprisingly huge. They also let you substitute tofu wherever you want, so that was a super positive! Lastly, the hot Jasmine tea was a great accompaniment and our server was attentive and sweet. Not sure about these other reviews I've seen, because our experience was great! Definitely coming back again soon to try out the other dishes.

Jesse M.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised. The food, ambiance, service and quality were all better than expected. We went on Valentine's Day weekend. Since we had a reservation, we were seated immediately. At the beginning of the meal, we were given 2 hot rolled towels. This is an asian tradition that you don't see often in the states. It was a small detail that augmented the experience. I'm not sure what kind of sound system they have there but the bass was deep and intoxicating. The music was ambient but hip. I liked it a lot. We had the signature mango spring rolls as an appetizer. They are a bit smaller diameter than the ones I'm used to but they were excellent. They had shrimp, avocado, mango and plenty of greens in them. There were no noodles in them. I welcomed the reduction of filler and addition of delicious ingredients. The nuoc mam and peanut dipping sauces replaced the ubiquitous hoisin dipping sauce. I was a bit dubious about this since I LOVE hoisin dipping sauce. Their sauces rule! I was glad to forego the hoisin in this case. I ordered the Singapore noodles. It's a wide noodle dish with some curry seasoning and accoutrements. It said that it came with shrimp. The dish was flavorful. The presentation was great. The shrimp were huge! They were borderline langoustines. Piping hot. I asked for crushed red pepper on the side. The pepper burned! Excellent heat to flavor ratio. My wife had the peanut curry with fried tofu. The peanut sauce they used is the same (I think) as the peanut sauce they gave us with the spring rolls. I kept asking my wife for more bites (that sauce is the sauce!) The tofu was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. If you look at the pictures that people have posted, the portions look rather small. Ours were plenty big. The plates are visually deceptive. They are really large so it makes the dish look smaller in photos. I appreciate a larger portion size. The portions at Mango Thai are completely satisfactory in my experience. We both left very full and pleased with the entire experience. The dining quarters are a bit tight. We were on the end of the restaurant nearer the door. Since there is no foyer, the cold air did give us a brisk awakening each time someone opened the door. It wasn't enough to ruin the great experience though. The bathroom was clean and modern.

Carrie M.

Yelp
Small portions for the price. Fair food. I was quite disappointed. Marginal. It was take out- but geez.

Lyn H.

Yelp
Ah yes, this cute little place. So imagine little hole-in-the-wall with an upgrade. I got Pad Thai, Mango Spring Rolls, Pot Stickers, and Crab and Avacado Rolls. The crab and avocado rolls (mashup anyone?) were superb! and the sauce topped it off, honestly, I can't wait to come back and get a second. Minus one star for the price (can anyone tell me how to do half a star????), it's a little on the heavy-handed side, but definitely still reasonable. ...and street parking (annoyed eye roll emoji here). Seriously, date night, need to have a small dinner with someone - please try them out.

Chenfang Y.

Yelp
One of the worst dining experience! I always love and always look for drunken noodle in Thai restaurants so we went in to have a later lunch/ early dinner. Was told they have a private party at 6 so we thought we'd be finished by then so we sat down and ordered food. We were the only one in there but food still took a while to come out. First of all, do they even wash their glassware? The free glass of water they gave us, the glass had lipstick mark on it! When I told the server, she didn't even apologize! The food was ok -- don't order the green papaya salad, the whole plate is half papaya salad, half is undressed greens for decoration. I paid for papaya salad!!! The worst part of this horrible dining experience is that since there's a private party coming up, there's a woman in the restaurant blowing up balloons, AND the balloons kept popping!!! It was loud, scary, and shocking! Neither that woman or restaurant staff came over to apologize for this nuisance, while you have patrons dining there?!?! Just appalling! Overall, the food was OK and service and whole experience was horrible!! Will never come back for sure. It's a shame this Thai restaurant was like this on this popular and decent street of St. Paul.

Sheri S.

Yelp
The girls and I went to Mango Thai on a cool Sunday for dinner and it was delicious. I had the Seafood Pad See Iew. The food came quite fast and the service was decent. The food was really flavorful and scrumptious. The portion was large and pretty satisfying. I didn't want the meal to end. The shrimps were crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. The seasoning was well marinated into the shrimps and I personally felt like the food came right off the stove. It always makes me happy when I feel like the food is really fresh. I loved the thai iced tea also. The overall ambiance was cute. I could see this being a nice place to lounge after you have had your meal and want to talk for a little. They had pretty large windows that were open which was nice because the light was able to shine in and the breeze flowed throughout the restaurant. I would love to go to this place over and over again!

Steve S.

Yelp
Friendly staff, respectable menu offerings, and intimate ambience make this a perfect option for date night. Servings are on the smaller spectrum compared to similar establishments locally but not overly so. Moderately priced. Strongly recommend the Singapore Noodles.

Pam M.

Yelp
This is a great Thai Place. The food is very fresh and I love all of their sauces. You can tell they put a lot of love and care in everything they make. One of my favorite appetizers is the mango spring rolls. Again fresh and flavorful. Their red curry is very good and so are many dishes. We have been here quite a bit and the food is always good. Rama spinach peanut curry is great too.

Denise M.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. We live in Brooklyn Park but were in the St Paul area and had a coupon for this restaurant in the Entertainment book so decided to check it out. Upon arriving, we stood in the doorway for at least 3 minutes before being greeted and told to seat ourselves. There was only one waitress and she seemed to be doing everything. So it took awhile to get waters, then the menu and then place our order. We ordered the beef jerky with sticky rice appetizer and when we put a spoon into the rice, there was a large black hair running through it. Gross but it happens. They took the appetizer back and replaced it. For our entrees, they were good but not a lot for the price. I had the pad woon sen seafood salad and I had 2 shrimp and one scallop in there. Not worth $15. But the real kicker of this bad review is that after waiting at least 10 minutes for our bill after they bussed our table, I gave them the coupon for the entertainment book which they said they don't honor. It's a 2019 entertainment book and it's January so it's not like it expired. The waitress apologized but said since the manager wasn't there, she couldn't do anything about it. Ok, I get that but she could have at least tried to make it right with comping our appetizer or something especially after the hair incident. Needless to say, we won't be coming back or recommending this restaurant to any friends. Very disappointing.

Sandina H.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting this establishment, but I must say I'm disappointed. I got a to-go order and just called my order in on my way to the restaurant. I was shocked when I arrived and they gave me my total for the bill. It was $58 for a soup, egg rolls and two orders of Pad Thai. After arriving home, I found the soup to be unlike any other Tom Kha I've had, and not in a good way, and it was extremely spicy. The chicken in it was in huge pieces. I thought the egg rolls aka fried spring rolls tasted like they were pre-fab frozen, and the Pad Thai was just ok. Everything but the soup was overly sweet. To add insult to injury, I was auditing my checking account online and discovered that they added a tip that I didn't authorize or request. I won't be going back.

Xai V.

Yelp
Small portions for the money. Some of dishes are good but not great. I've been through plenty of Thai Restaurants and this one is truly a disappointment. The only thing making this a 2 stars are the dipping sauces for the spring rolls, otherwise would had been 1.

Diane V.

Yelp
A tiny place tastefully decorated with a lovely restroom and friendly service. My hubby enjoyed his Raad Na Seafood dish very much, but had a major MSG rush afterwards. I ordered the Rama Spinach Peanut Curry w/ beef. There was only a little meat, lots of bean sprouts and peanut sauce, and a cup of rice was served. I wasn't full afterwards. The little meat in the dish hadn't been cooked in spices, as it had no taste. The flavor was all in the peanut sauce. 2 hours later, I have a bad MSG headache, too.

Yelp
So living in Blaine we drove to the restaurant and arrived 20 min before they closed at 10pm. We were told they only do take out at this time. With huge disappointment the owner, Rob, over heard us saying we came here from Blaine, AND what Rob did was say "sit down, we will serve you" Rob personnel served us and we had the greatest dining experience and we ate quickly to be considerate of his time. Not only the food was awesome but chatting with him was amazing. We now will be repeat customers, thank you ROB!!

This place does Thai right, and with its own flair. We had the beef fried rice with basil and Panang Curry. Wow, the presentation was gorgeous. Almost looked too good but let's not get crazy. The flavor just popped and the portion size was perfect. We left nothing behind and got pleasantly full with no appetizers or dessert necessary (though they looked really good). Please, try this place. You won't be disappointed unless you're super picky about the small stuff. See Cons list below. PROS: *Our waitress. Awesome and accommodating Two co-workers were a no-show so she was doing triple-duty on a packed little restaurant. *Decor - funky but tasteful *Menu - Many mouth watering choices, but not too many choices. And you know what I'm talking about. No big novel to wade through, just all the Thai categories you'd expect with their best offerings. *Location - in the heart of the Selby foodie strip with limited outdoor seating. CONS (that didn't make a difference to us but maybe to you): *It's a really, really small place. On a busy day you'll be squeezing past other patrons any time you're up from your seat. Lots of musical chairs going on due to bigger parties coming in. *Price - Not the economically priced cuisine you may be used to when it comes to most Asian dining in St. Paul. No entree on the menu under $13. Most are in $15-19 range. *The music system had commercials which mucked up the atmosphere just a tad. I mean Pandora is what, $7 a month? C'mon guys. *Bathroom - Singular. One unisex bathroom with a stack of hand folded regular kitchen paper towels to dry off with. Hmm. Whatever.

Yelp
The friendly woman who answered the phone and took the order sealed this five star review. The food is always amazing! Mango spring rolls, chicken pad key mow, and pad Thai. Delicious as always! I am so grateful they have stayed afloat during this trying time.

Yelp
Truly the best pineapple fried rice I've ever had. Seriously, try it. Green curry was also pretty good; my only complaint is that it wasn't spicy at all, despite being listed as spicy on the menu. (I also have a high spice tolerance, though, so take my word with a grain of salt) Takeout order was ready in 20 minutes, and the staff was very nice. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Mango Thai knows how to make a gorgeous meal that is consistently delicious. They've been around for a long time, and so the menus are a little tired, but I never tire of the food selection they offer, and the decor still seems updated and contemporary. The service isn't hurried, but certainly not slow or inattentive, and the space is inviting, and great for afternoon meetings or a casual lunch, and equally right for a romantic dinner. My favorite dish there is the Panang with tofu, but everything I've tried, and I've tried many things there, are delicious, and so very pleasing to the eye. I highly recommend Mango Thai.

Yelp
My little sister felt like treating me and I couldn't refuse -we were both craving Thai food and initially wanted to go to Pad Thai on Grand Ave but they were closed for lunch so we yelped up this place instead. The place is pretty small upon entering and the tables were really awkward sized ... much too big for what limited space they have. The tables were so wide you could fit two more seats between me and my sister (am I exaggerating? Perhaps. Did I feel far away from my sis? Yes.) Anyway -less talking about the tables and more about the food. The menu is same pricing as amazing Thailand around $7-8/App and $16/entrée? We ordered the pad see ew and the panang curry both were delicious but serving was a little too small for the price (meant for single serving I guess.. I like family style tho) overall it was still very good, and I couldn't complain about the service since our server was awesome. However, I can probably find a better Thai joint that tastes just as good but for less, so I don't know if I would come back but it was worth the try.

Yelp
Highly overpriced, fairly low quality Thai food. That is Mango Thai. You pay for the cheaply made atmosphere of being in a contemporary designed restaurant (what with the wicker baskets, bamboo, low lights and white flowers). I have always thought the wooden panels of the low seating arrangements near the door to just look tacky and unfinished, and have never really been impressed with the food. The drinks are very meager in size, and I'm pretty sure the Pad Thai sauce is a ketchup based one. The Pad Thai is something like $11 and comes with an absurd amount of curly shaved carrots to make it look "contemporary." I have always felt sick after eating the food. I gave the place two stars for location and because when you are craving thai food and don't want to hike to University Ave or Minneapolis, it fulfills the craving in a disappointing, "better than not having it" sort of way. Skip Mango Thai, go to Bangkok Thai Deli near Western Ave on University. $7.50 Pad Thai made by a woman native to Thailand who cooks from scratch with her own family recipes. Enough said.

Yelp
Mango Thai disappointed. Initially, you're drawn in by the colorful tables outside and huuuuuge mahogany doors. Courteous waiters in fairly traditional Thai pants and flip flops are running around. Inside, they have "floor-style" seating with a "cheat" - the "floor" is a raised platform with holes cut out beneath the tables so you can sit in comfort (star), but pretend you are exotic and cultured. Attractive options on the menu and (star!!!) no corkage fee for bringing your own bottle. Alas, my stars end there. The spring rolls were delish. Chilean sea bass was off the heezy...but good lord their red curry is FIYYYYYAAAAAAAAHHHH! No ability to customize the heat level. :( made it impossible to eat... Mmm mmm more edamame for me, please. ($6 Wendy's salad on the way home). The waiter, although very very nice, didn't ask if I wanted something else, just said he'd be sure to bring me a lot of water. A $30 water diet. Thanks. Sitting there watching everyone else eat, I had plenty of time to look around and notice the bar chairs were falling apart. There was no Thai art...no buddhas or elephants or orchids... Nada. I'd probably go back for straight up pad Thai. But be warned, they mean business with the chili peppers.

Yelp
I went here with high hopes. While Mango Thai's in a great location near Cathedral Hill, and have hip decoration and sophisticated utensils and flatware, along with bistro-lounge music playing, I was not pleased with the food options for vegans. I asked for a green curry with tofu, without fish sauce, but my waitress told me that fish sauce is pre-mixed in the curry paste. This was disappointing because a) green curry is my gauge-dish to see how good a Thai restaurant is; b) they were not willing to make the curry for me without fish sauce, which suggests they aren't so accommodating to vegetarians/vegans; and c) no Thai restaurant that is worth its name should be using pre-mixed and stock ingredients. Thai food is all about freshness and simple improvisation, which suggests that Mango Thai is cutting vital corners. I ended up with a Pad Kee Mao (basil stir fry with flat rice noodles), but make sure to order it without eggs if you're vegan. The dish itself was decent, but nothing special. Prices are reasonable for the quantity of food. The service was friendly, though a bit slow. This is a good place to take a date. But overall, I was disturbed that a Thai restaurant could be so vegan un-friendly.

Yelp
Cute, cozy and tasty! My husband and I are new to MN and hadn't found a Thai restaurant but Mango Thai will be our go-to after tonight. We really enjoyed everything we had but especially the Beef Jerky and Sticky Rice app. The service was also great seeing as it was only one young girl that was hosting, waiting and serving the full dining room. She was very pleasant and perfectly attentive. Great job!
