If you like sweet and decadent, take out the Gloria mangonada, which contains eggnog and sweetened milk. The fruit in the cup is as fresh as it gets. Google
I tried a mango raspado for the first time. It is way sweeter than a snow cone! A few people in our group had the banana splits (a large portion!) Good selection of ice cream (hand scoop) and other items.

David A.

Google
There’s was this guy who was the shortest 5 footer ever but he made this amazing chocolty choco bananas that tasted amazing 😍. He tells you to pull his finger and puts the food behind his back but honestly it gave my food some extra flavor which was great. 10/10 customer service would recommend

Gilberto M.

Google
Great food And service. You have a true hard worker I think he told me his name was Anthony he is so helpful and handsome. I will come back because he knows how to treat his customers well.

Johan C.

Google
Love the food! The service was really great especially from this one fun sized curly haired guy named Anthony he really helped me with picking out what to eat I’ll be sure to come back here again

Alejandro

Google
I went there and the food was great!! There was a kind gentleman called Cruz taking my order and he made the experience 10 times better, he was fast polite and overall I think he needs a raise. Great restaurant really recommend it to everyone!

Abhi K.

Google
If you are looking for Ice Cream, “Gansito Split” is THE choice. You can choose any 3 of their amazing ice cream flavors. If you want something with ice water, their Gloria is very good. Amazing Experience. Will surely come back to try their remaining offerings.

Richard P.

Google
Anthony Cruz helped me when I couldn’t understand the menu he’s very patient and awesome he is a very respectful young man with a great future if I were the owner I would give him a raise Thanks to Anthony Cruz I can take all my girls to the magonadas and he won’t snitch he’s the best and sexiest

Google
I love this place!! Amo este lugar!! 🤤There's still a lot I haven't tried, but they have mangonadas (ofc lol) hot Cheetos with cheese, diablotos mango and tamarindo flavor, a prepared monster drink, a large variety of ice cream flavors, and so much more. Recomendo este lugar mucho para todos sus antojos 🤣

Yelp
There are so many options. This is a go-to spot every time I am in Southwest Detroit. The service is quick, and the staff is always so nice, and the ambiance is chill. Music playing and bright colors and the menu have pictures in case you're not sure what it is. The food is always great here. They also have tamales and other options as well for real food other than ice cream, fruit, and snacks. I'm pregnant, so the fruit bowl hit the spot.

Yelp
This place was delicious!! I ordered a mangonadas chili ice cream treat i cant wait to go again! Fantastico!

Erica L.

Yelp
This Mexican ice cream shop is a must-visit! Their ice cream is simply delicious--creamy, flavorful, and with a wonderful variety of authentic Mexican flavors. Highly recommend stopping by for a sweet treat!

Yelp
I've had Mangonada's at lots of places and this is definitely one of my favorites! I believe it's called the Mangonada Queen. So much flavor packed into one refreshing drink where it tastes a little sweet and sour! This place really has a lot of crazy combinations like hot Cheetos with melted cheese, among other items. If you're feeling less adventurous there's always regular nachos and cheese or a banana split but either way you'll find something you like. The prices are all reasonable as well with most items being between $3-$6. There is is even a food truck right there in the parking lot that I believe is open most mornings. Can't wait to come back to try some more items ( as I'm eying the Gansito Split) as this is definitely one of my favorite spots in SW Detroit.

Yelp
Wasn't aware there was a spot in Detroit that's speciality was Mangonada's, so had to give it a try. The inside is bright and colorful, reminds you of something you'd see in Southern California or Mexico. When you walk in there's a small seating area, walking further in and there's the menu/where you order. There are various flavors of ice cream, chocolate covered bananas, Mango treats, etc to chose from. I got the Mangonada Queen and Elote with crushed Flaming Hot Cheetos. The MQ consists of - Mango, chili powder, lime, chamoy (sweet + spicy). It's the perfect combination of sweet, spicy and salty/tangy. This Mangonada was more on the spicy side compared to others I've had, but overall good. The Elote was amazing. I am picky with my Elote and prefer it on the cob, compared to in a cup - but this did not disappoint. The corn, cojita, and hot Cheetos perfectly complimented each other. Each bite was spicy and flavorful. The employees were friendly and everyone was wearing masks/gloves - safely following COVID protocols. Definitely recommend and will be back to try other items off the menu!

Yelp
I love the mangonada Queen! Its a perfect mix between sweet & spicy. I haven't tried their other desserts but its a good selection. The street food here is unique for the area. Highly recommend elote or the dorito dishes.
google avatar

Jessica K.

Yelp
Went with my partner to get some takeout for the Yelp Exploration society and it was a great experience as usual! They had not been before and really enjoyed it. I got the dorielotes + la ruta, and they got a regular elote + la diablita. So spicy and good. Portions are generous and they take a lot of care in presentation. There's also a food truck outside with dinner type offerings but I didn't end up getting anything from there today.
google avatar

Freyhan D.

Yelp
Pretty cool spot. Was not aware of this at all until recently, and will definitely try and visit back to try more stuff. They seem to have a lot of unique treats, and the staff is friendly as well. My only complaint would be the amount of time I had to wait, but after seeing the complicated drinks they offer, I'm sure it takes a while to prep these things. Plus, it's not their fault that they are in such high demand that there were so many people waiting in line! I think the prices were reasonable for what you get, and they were well made as well. Will definitely have to come back and try some other treats from them.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this little gem in Southwest Detroit. I tell people from all over the globe how much authentic (and delicious) Mexican food there is in Detroit. People never believe me! This is my second time here. Last time I had the Magonada this time I went with the Gloria. I am so happy I did! I couldn't believe how fresh their fruit is. My drink had probably the best strawberries I ever tasted, which is crazy since they aren't even in season. You definitely don't see this quality of fresh fruit chopped up like this anywhere else. I defiantly recommend trying the Gloria, I can't wait for summertime this would be a delicious, refreshing treat!
google avatar

Jess B.

Yelp
Hello deliciousness! I don't know what I was expecting so when I walked into the place I was suprised. They had so many Mexican treats that I'm assuming were authentic. I'm not going to touch on the snacks because I didn't try those. The drinks and other sweets looked so good. They had pictures of all of the items so you had a good idea of what to get. My husband had the Mangonada Queen. Of course I tried it. It was sweet, but not overly sweet. Very refreshing and crisp. Then you hit that chili and it's like a sudden kick; in a good way though. There was a bunch of mango in it so it was a drink and sweet snack. I had the Gloria. This drink was very sweet and decadent. I wasn't able to finish the entire thing because it was so sweet, but it was delicious. I highly recommend it. The listed ingredients contain eggnog and sweetened milk. That's where the sweetness comes from. The nutmeg in the egg nog complimented the drink so well. My favorite part was eating the fresh strawberries and bananas that had been soaking in the slushy sweetness. Sooo good... They were pretty busy when I was there and the staff was hustling. They were very friendly and answered questions. I love how authentic the place looked. Very similar to a building you would see in Mexico. Kind of took me back to the days when it was safe to travel. I'm so happy that as a Yelp Elite I was able to learn about this place. If I weren't an elite, I probably would have never learned about this gem!
google avatar

Ngoc T.

Yelp
Hands down the best Mangonada in town. The kids work there seem pretty accommodating with my orders. Highly recommended!

Angel P.

Yelp
They have a variety of selection , definitely recommend the dorilokos or dorilotes. Omg they are so GOOD !!!
google avatar

Emet D.

Yelp
Went for the event and left with a lot more than expected!! Their most out of the world thing that I've never seen or had was their apples covered in the tamarind. Got the spicy one and it was strangely good. They covered it in syrup and gummy butterflies and strings. The coating has a blast of spicy, sour, saltiness that the apple itself helped calm down the wildness going on. Their mangonada are legit and you can't go wrong. Great fresh mango flavor and not like those slushy ones that some places serve. Their lime juice is probably something I'd get every time I visit. Also got the pork skin but was too full to even try
google avatar

Lynn H.

Yelp
Mangonadas del Barrio is awesome! From the cheery decor, to the friendly staff, to the delicious treats, we've got a winner! The mangonada queen and elote were very good, the gloria was even better, and the fresas con crema was to die for!
google avatar

Danielle K.

Yelp
I was definitely out of my comfort zone going here but I'm so glad I did. The inside was clean and the staff was beyond friendly! I ordered the Rusa- Grapefruit soda, orange juice, ice, chili powder, lime, chamoy, pineapple and mango (sweet + spicy). Definitely had a kick but completely doable! Not something I'd normally order but I figured why not, I'm so thankful I did! It was $5 and HUGE; completely full of fruit to the top!
google avatar

Ian T.

Yelp
What a treat!! These are the places I LOVE in Detroit... No other place to you get the sensation you're in Mexico. The wild flavors, the colors, and the treats are unlike anything else except for Mexico. The slushees were sweet, spicy, and a mix of flavors that you've probably never had. We want to come back for food! The Elote in a cup looks amazing. We loved the colors, the staff was nice. 100% coming back and trying more of the menu!
google avatar

Yelp
The service here was amazing! The cashier let my boyfriend and I sample a few products on the menu, which I thought was super sweet. I told her that it wasn't necessary but she persisted with her genuineness. She later told me that her parents owned the business. I wish I remembered her name because she made me feel so special as a first time customer. The location is super convenient. It's about 5 minutes away from my house in Southwest. The restaurant sits on a corner so it's very easy to identify. There's free parking available on site of the restaurant. The restaurant itself has a patio, indoor seating, and a play area for children. It's ideal for families. The prices are super cheap. The total between my boyfriend and I was $10. Note, there is a $10 minimum to use a credit/debit card. I ordered the Mangonadas Queen. It looks super cute! Honestly, I didn't love it. I think the taste was overwhelming and I suffered a stomachache later. This may have been a personal issue, not entirely sure. I'd still recommend this place. You should see it for yourself!
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
Delicious! Refreshing! The fresh fruit in the drink is great and enjoying on the patio on a warm evening is perfect!
google avatar

Amelia B.

Yelp
I love this place because when I feel like a bunch fruit I can buy a huge cup for 4bucks and not to have to do the prep. I enjoy the sweet fruit cocktail and the spicy. Aquas fresca are good too.
google avatar

Sifah M.

Yelp
Mangonadas is an awesome neighborhood spot! They have awesome desserts and everything is super cheap. I seem to end up getting the Tornado a lot but the esquites is really good there, the fresas con crema is bomb! They do have food like nachos and walking tacos and things but ive never tried them, I'm always getting sweets. The place isn't much to look at aesthetically lol. If you go you'll know why I'm laughing when i say that. Its like they bought an old business space but never actually furnished it at all. It's funny to me because i have friends that do this with their small businesses in the city to turn a quick buck and save on overhead when they're in a neighborhood where they feel they can get away with it and still get customers, but this place has been here a while and all they have inside is a couple chairs and candy machines. But whatever if that's how they're keeping prices low i don't really care. Staff is usually marginally friendly, they seem to not care that much if they sell anything to you lol I mean they won't ask for your order, you have to like yell for somebody to come help you and they're like "yeah what do you want?" lol gotta love the D. Anyway, long story short, this place is good money, try them out. You'll be pleasantly surprised for those that never have.

Yelp
I want the city of Detroit to wake up and check out SW Detroit !! So many gold mines and this is one of them!! Who loves pularindo? This mango and strawberry drink topped with Lucas and fresh mango chunks is bomb bomb bomb, it's called Mangonadas Queen! They also have great horchata and massive banana splits!

Crystal G.

Yelp
This place has really great options very affordable! Everything I bought was so good full of flavor was surprised new favorite spot!
google avatar

Virginia L.

Yelp
I was so excited to see a mangonadas spot thinking finally!! Something they have back home in LA!! We came on a Hot Sunday afternoon thinking this would cool us off a bit. Boy were we wrong! We ordered the cocktail de fruita con chile ($4) and mangonada queen($4). Both were pretty much room temp and the mangonada seemed like it was melted. It definitely didn't hit the spot, quite disappointing actually. I really had high hopes for you guys, but was sadly disappointed. I don't think I'd be back anytime soon especially since we don't head out to Detroit often. They have a private parking lot and patio seating with umbrellas. Several tables indoor as well.
google avatar

Tehmina W.

Yelp
After reading the reviews and seeing that they have some of our favorites Elote being one we had to try it. We. We're presently surprised when we pulled up to see a big open parking lot and a nice outdoor are to sit and eat. The kids loved the games that where available inside. The menu was great with a ton of options and way to understand. We were greeted right away and had great customer service. We all enjoyed our desserts and can't wait to go back.

Alana S.

Yelp
Fresh drinks, friendly people and super similar to what is in Mexico! A little out if the way, but definitely worth it. Yum!

Yelp
This place used to be my favorite today April 28, 2021 I called to place an order they said they couldn't take it because they were busy. lol two days ago when I ordered they said I can only take your order over the phone if you pay with credit card and saw that I did and today they said all we can take your order and they said they'll talk to the manager because I told him I was pregnant a month so the manager gets on the phone the manager is about a little Boy he says I can't take your order and then he hangs up the phone in my face. I called back he answers and I said I want to speak with the manager and he says I am the manager I said you don't hang up in Customer's face I called to place an order he's like well I can't take your order and I'm really busy I said well I am pregnant and i drove 35 minutes I can't wait in a line in a long line and he says to me "your pregnant, it's not my responsibility that you're pregnant" very inconsiderate how rude to talk to a regular customer that goes every day or every week and I also tip them all the time. Worst experience ever
google avatar

Migdalia M.

Yelp
Prices are okay, service is good, but product is not the best. The mangonadas are not made from mango ice cream but mango water. I expected to find chunks of mango but was disappointed when I found none. The dorilocos were good, nothing to complain about. Location seemed well kept and had serval employees that made service fast and efficient.
google avatar

Yelp
A hidden gem deep in the Barrio of SW DETROIT off the beaten path of the suburban Gringos you'll find dozens of Mexican families from open to close enjoying the most unique this city has to offer. Mangonadas Del Barrio has treasures for every palate. We love those iced just right fruit cups, big fruity flavored drinks and ice cream treats. Open now 7 years this place has thousands of regular customers, a small game room for birthday parties, restroom and really nice patio to enjoy your scrumptious dessert. Find them on Facebook this location corner of Chamberlin n Lawndale, yes grew up just a block over. They just opened a 2nd location on Vernor near Mexican Town. Now a 3rd location downtown Lincoln Park. The very best Tamales only a buck each all locations just one or as many you like.
google avatar

Sarah A.

Yelp
I came here by recommendation from a waitress at one of our favorite restaurants in Southwest Detroit. She raved about their savory/ sweet menu. I walked in and was immediately hit with the smell of cleaner. They're very neat and well organized. They offered a fantastic menu of Mexican ice cream and savory fruit. I went with the fruit cocktail drizzled with Chamoy and spices. The gentleman behind the counter was very kind and super patient. As I had my first bite of mango with the works on it, I was in heaven. The fruit is very fresh and it was better than what I had in Downtown LA, California. I can't wait to come back and try their other menu items.

Edwin P.

Yelp
Their fruit is dry as heck never fresh at alll. Some, I repeat ( SOME ) of the girls working here are really sweet and nice but whoever is in charge is trashhh I asked if I could change it to something else because the mango I asked for was hard as a rock like if it was dried out from being cut all day and they told me no because they didn't want to waste the fruit and throw it out. Like Ma'am the fruit is waste and gone bad !

Arturo C.

Yelp
The tamales and esquites are pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was the coconut water, it tastes like artificial coconut and it's way too sweet. Other than that, all good
google avatar

Allen L.

Yelp
The mangonada, literally "mango nothing", is mango, chili powder and chermoya syrup frozen into a cup. Finished with fresh lime when you order. Other flavors are available including melon. They also have a variety of fresh fruit cups, agua frescas, ice cream, etc. All things deliciously fresh and frozen. Also some non-frozen nacho-like treats. Have yet to try the apple covered in tamarind paste and chili. Super nice and friendly staff.
google avatar

Dhuha A.

Yelp
Great friendly people and service very different from typical Mexican chain. Loved my daughter got the hot Cheetos with nacho cheese she loved it.

Maha A.

Yelp
Okay the people here are so nice!! The young lady behind the counter sort of explained to me their options since it was my first time there. I went with the mangonada queen and it was so good. I loved the mango, the chili was new to me so that I wasn't the biggest fan of but if I'd get it again, I would get it with less chili. I also tried a scoop of the coconut ice, it was soooo good!! I absolutely loved the refreshing flavor. I would definitely come back here as the other items on their menu looked really good too.
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
I went to las Mangonadas del barrio last week and we had rude service. They gave us the wrong ice cream. They charged us extra. I'm never coming back here ever again unless this was the only option that was near us .
google avatar

Tatiana P.

Yelp
Went to the new location on Fort Street in Lincoln Park...it was awesome! Great cheap prices, friendly staff, AMAZING food and drinks!! Mangonadas is the best
google avatar

Charles K.

Yelp
Great variety of desserts. They are known for the Manganado slushi which is a mango slush with chunks of fresh mango cayenne pepper and a tamarind stick. Don't have a menu for you to look at so that's my only knock. Best thing to do is just ask of show then a photo of many desserts of what you want. Have a massive topping bar as well for your ice cream with tons of fresh fruit.
google avatar

Mansoor I.

Yelp
My friends really enjoyed this experience I thought the service was great God bless and keep up the good work! It's healthy food and I'm a fan now.
google avatar

Darryl T.

Yelp
I came here to work and had some of there tamales after working as well as the strawberry lemonade. Amazing. As well they have some spicy salsa with great taste but brings enough heat that you can feel it. I will be coming back with my friends and family.

Fowaz H.

Yelp
There are many hidden gems in the city of Detroit. This is one of them. I got the strawberries with cream and was positively surprised. But it seemed like the popular item was the mangonada (obviously). For next time...
