Google
Better than average beer. Mr. Stout was about the best stout I've had and it's a remarkable 11.0% ABV. Friendly service. Ambiance includes a generous portion of seating inside of the brewery. Tours are available. Plenty of free parking exists. An ATM is on site. It would be nice if there were better bar snacks available.

Google
I am giving four stars because the beer was good. Service could have been better. It seemed like a college hangout, which is fine if you are in college but can be annoying if not. Good indoor seating. They have a stage for live music. Outdoor patio was nice and spacious. Dog friendly is always a plus! A nice place to stop for a good beer!

Google
Love this place. A great local gathering, it seems to cater to a lot of different crowds, but as an experienced professional, I think this is a great place for happy hour or reconnecting with friends. Not too loud, you can actually have a conversation. The beer is really good and there is a nice variety. I love the atmosphere both indoor and outside on a beautiful day.

Google
Amazing place. Great beers and live music. They don't have food there but you can bring your own food. 100% recommended

Google
Mankato Brewery is always a great spot for a beer. Mad Butcher is my favorite! Also often host neat concerts. Find them on Tuesdays & weekends.

Google
Loved the setting and the beer was very nice. Locations is a little ho him but that is the current state of small breweries. We will be back!

Drea W

Google
Cool location, directly in their brewery. Beers are really tasty and prices are absolutely fair. Bought two crowlers because we liked the beer so much. If we ever come back to MN we have to go there again. Try their beer if you are around!

Bronwyn Held

Google
Cool brewery with their own beers on tap. The space is a bit larger than just the bar and brewery equipment, but they make the bar area feel just right. They've got games, bean bags, and giant jenga for you to play so you can bring your kids. There's no food here. It's a great place to grab a drink with a friend.

Yelp
Love this place. Too bad it's last day is Friday. We enjoyed coming here. Will miss coming here

Yelp
Service was very good and atmosphere was great as you look at the huge brewing vats and equipment. The beer was mostly ciders, IPA's and sours...non of which I like. I did find a really good nitro that was creamy and delicious.

Yelp
We have been coming here for many years and truly enjoy this place. It's a casual vibe with a great selection of beers that is always changing. For basic beer fans, the Kato Lager is a good choice. We also like the Cross Czech Pils (seasonal), Rhuby Sour and Organ Grinder. Mankato Brewery is also community-minded and have limited-run brews that benefit local nonprofits as well as host events that give back. Their outdoor space is dog-friendly and occasionally has food trucks. Even though they don't serve their own food, patrons can bring their own or order in.

Yelp
We stopped in after a 25 mile bike ride. Thanks to Minsips, we enjoyed a couple of two-for-one beers. The Oktoberfest was good and the cream ale was nice also.

Yelp
Great brewery in an industrial area near North Mankato. Awesome service on a Sunday afternoon! We tried a couple of tasty brews: Organ Grinder Amber Ale & their Oktoberfest. Both were wonderful, especially after a nice 25 mile bicycle ride on the Mankato River Ramble. The Mankato Brewery was a sponsor for this years ride-thank you Mankato Brewery!

Yelp
It had a great ambience as well all the beers we tried were great. The people who served us were very friendly as well. Dobo also gave us a wonderful tour of the brewery. I get why they have been as successful as they are. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
This is not my first visit to Mankato Brewing and they do not disappoint! Staff has always been very friendly. The outdoor patio is causal but welcoming. The indoor atmosphere has a strong industrial vibe with the brewing machinery out in the open for all customer to admire. The beer selections are wonderful. I am yet to try a beer I didn't like (and I've tried almost all of them). This brewery also gives you the options to do flights. The brewery has live bands and food trucks on certain nights. This is definitely a spot to check out!

Yelp
Love this place. I've been going here with friends for a year now. Mad Butcher and Organ Grinder are fan favorites. They always seem to have new styles to try every time I go there. Indoor has a great atmosphere. Bartenders are always friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Always great beer! Maple Grave did not disappoint! Oktoberfest also really good! Our 5th or 6th trip and we'll be back!

Yelp
They've made big strides in the past 4-5 years for overall appeal of the taproom area and quality of beers. Some of the beer is hit or miss, but the hoppy IPA's have been great!! They've improved their branding and are definitely In all the local bars! Good summer spot to hang out, and have attracted some Good music over the years. Kind of off the beaten path in North Mankato, but worth a stop!
google avatar

Yelp
Really great place, run by great people. Some of my favorite beers and a fun atmosphere to see some live music!

Yelp
Three baseball moms came here after sitting in the sun all afternoon watching baseball. The smell of barley and malt welcomed us in. The air was on so it was nice and cool. Kinda crowded around 3 on a Saturday. I ordered a flight of 4 beers for $8 but had samples of 3 others. The flight arrived in a circle and beers are clockwise. My selection: Kato Light Lager( good), Organ Grinder Ale ( good), Mad Butcher( no like), Nano batch lemon drop( good, like a shandy). I also had Kato Black Lager ( no like), Hibiscus Nitro kind ( good) and Rook ( tasted like original Listerine yuck). They sell small growlers in cans for $7.00, and larger glass growlers. Nothing really stood out for me to get a growler. The logo on glass MB was boring also. There was only 2 men working so took some time to get bill. I tipped well cuz I got some samples. There was corn hole being played and giant jenga. It was too hot to be outside. Crowd was older 40+ which was fine. Kinda small taproom. Recommend to check it out.

Yelp
My husband and I just tried to stop in to try a brew, and we couldn't so much as get any of the three people working to look our direction. There were maybe 4 other people at the counter with us, so it wasn't busy and we even attempted to say hi in hopes perhaps they thought we were being served. We ended up leaving after standing for 5 minutes without so much as a hello or smile, and we were passed up by a couple that walked up after we had been there. Can't say anything about the beer as we were not offered any, but I have to say I was really offended by the service (or lack there of).

David P.

Yelp
Was very surprised on how many good beers were here. Had the Hero, Butcher, Mberry, and they had this Apple beer which was 11.1% which was awesome and might get you into trouble, lol. Took 3 crowlers to go as well. Will definitely be back when visiting again.

Mike B.

Yelp
Bought a six-pack of Mad Butcher and all six beers had these big white chunks floating in the bottom of the glass. contacted Mankato Brewery and was told I would get a replacement six pack and that was more than 3 weeks ago so on top of poor quality control they have very poor customer service

Yelp
Husband and I left IKEA in Bloomington without having spent $300+ on Swedish puzzle parts or having had our ankles crushed by strollers/carts - we felt we could take on the world! Kept the momentum going and decided to take a drive to Mankato. First stop was the Mankato Brewery! The place was pretty quiet when we stopped in around 4:00pm on a Sunday. There was outdoor seating and plenty of indoor space. Looks like they have a cool setup for some live music as well. I grabbed a Nitro Crooked Rook Porter and a brew that had a lovely vanilla flavor (don't recall the name). Both brews were tasty and only $4 a pint. I can't imagine I will be in the area often but if you find yourself in Mankato - stop in!

Yelp
This was a great spot to stop on our recent road trip. The servers were happy to provide tastes of the many excellent fresh brews available, and it was fun to see the beer-making equipment from the taproom area. And this shows how great the people there are: we left a bag in the taproom, and they mailed it to us at our house and wouldn't let us pay for it.

Yelp
Pretty darn good beer! I went there after a run (plenty of good trails in the Mankato area!) and was pleasantly surprised to find that they had a few nano brews on tap. I had a glass of the cinnamon amber and a glass of fruit medley beer. Both were very good and I appreciated the fact the brewery included some unique beers that fall outside of the typical IPAs and stouts. It's a pretty big brewery with a small tasting room section. If the weather is nice, and it was, there's a patio area out front. My only real suggestion is that they put up some larger TVs. I would have returned the next day to watch the NFL draft, but the one TV they do have is too small to easily see. The employees were all nice, but mid westerners do tend to be very nice. So long as MB continues to brew unique one offs like the cinnamon amber, you should take a chance and go there. MB is a nice change of pace to the chain restaurants in Mankato that have draft beer, but not nearly the unique offering MB has. *Tip* Buy an MB glass. At least 2 that I saw were great looking glasses and not the generic pint glasses you usually have a beer in.

Yelp
We went to all the way to north Mankato to the brewery. It was great. Had lots of games for the kids while the bartenders grabbed us samples and beers. The Mad Bucher was my favorite. Would have liked some options for food but I understand they have vendors in Friday's. Fun place to check out!!!

Yelp
I just stopped in to grab a growler, since we were in town anyway, but I was impressed. Dropped by at 2PM on a Saturday and the place was hopping. Literally. Because you could smell the brewing. Because hops. I'm hilarious. Anyway. Internal bias, I always expect rural-er breweries to be full of nasty lagers. In my experience, that's what rural-er people like. I tasted the Haymaker IPA and the imperial red before purchasing and both defied my expectations! Delicious. I ended up buying the Haymaker because nobody wants to be that person bringing an 8.8%-er to an office holiday party. Super affordable! Most growlers were $10-12 (plus the standard $5 growler deposit), with the imperial only jumping up to $14. I think most pints were in the $4-6 range! Great place to get classy drunk!

Yelp
The bar is located in the brewery but has a small bar feel because of the low ceiling in the bar area. There is no food and the beer is decent. My one issue is the music is to heavy and aggressive to be ambiance. Raging guitars, screaming, and songs with fire alarms is not really relaxing.
google avatar

Yelp
Great beer and great atmosphere. The workers are always friendly and willing to help. A must stop while you are in kato

Yelp
First time coming to this brewery. We came with friends while visiting Mankato. It's a nice place, but it doesn't take much to fill it up. There were 6 of us here and we almost couldn't find a place to sit. They have a few bigger tables up a set of stairs and you actually get a pretty nice view of the brewery. You go up to the bar to order your beer and they have a few bagged snacks (pretzels & popcorn) to purchase. There's also a small gift shop!
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
Woah! Was in town for a wedding and I always like to get my local beer freak on so we decided to check this place out. Order 2 flights of 4 and liked nearly every single beer! Which is really quite impressive. Huge space, cute rustic bar, great prices. Not sure if they can and distribute up to the cities yet, but I'll totally be on the lookout.
google avatar

Rick M.

Yelp
Great beer and great service. Worth a stop! We all enjoyed flights so we were able to sample a variety. Definitely something for everyone. The non-drinkers or dd can enjoy spring grove sodas for only $2 a bottle. Bring some food unless you want chips or popcorn (for purchase)!

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite place in Mankato. Everything about this place is great. The beers - the atmosphere - the service. Everything. Their beers run the gamut - from standards like the Kato lager or the Organ Grinder amber, to the really imaginative like the Boom Chick A Pop. They have something for everyone. They don't have a kitchen - so bring your own food if you want to make a night of hanging out there... which I highly recommend.

Yelp
If you live outside of Mankato, you now have a reason to add this place as a spot to visit. It's well worth a weekend drive. They have AMAZING beer, a great friendly and knowledgeable (everything beer related and other things as well) staff and a really chill tap room to just hang out and drink the day away. There is even a 'patio' area that you can venture out to if the garage doors aren't open up in the brewery. Tired of just sitting and sipping your suds, no worries they have a pool table that should keep you occupied for an hour or two. Or you can just strike up a conversation with the staff, head brewer, owners or fellow beer enthusiast. They are all great people and always willing to keep a conversation going. It's like walking into your friendly neighborhood bar where everyone happens to know your name. I have tried everything they have on tap and it's all amazing stuff. I have yet to be disappointed by anything that has come out from those tap room doors. An added bonus is to be sure to visit these guys at any one of the many beer events that they participate within because you will be in for a treat. They create special beers for those events and it's always a treat for the taste buds. I just wish Mankato wasn't so far away cause I would be there all the time. I guess I'll just have to stock up on my growlers on my visits there or just rely on getting bottles from the local beer/liquor stores or straight from the tap at my favorite bars. Truly amazing beers. Great tap room. Superb staff.

Yelp
Mankato Brewery is my kind of place. Small but with enough space for beer lovers to hang out and enjoy a few pints where you can also see where the beer is made. It's that intimate atmosphere that I like to share with my brewer. As usual, I started with a flight so I could try everything currently available. The Imperial Red and Crooked Rook were my favorites. The Ceres Summer Ale was available as a shandy with lemons during my visit and I found it very refreshing. A good summer beer for sure. The day before I had read about Mankato Brewery relaunching an old sentimental local favorite beer recipe called Kato Lager. When in Rome, right? Tried a pint of that before heading out. It was the nostalgic brew I expected it to be. While waiting for my pint of Kato Lager, I noticed one lonely Mankato Brewery push down bottle opener with their available swag. I didn't need another t-shirt, but I've been on the lookout for one of those bottle openers. So...good beer and a useful souvenir? Mission accomplished.

Yelp
Great beers! This place is among my top favorites in Minnesota for beers! Tons of fun and create events such as yoga and beer nights! Fun option to order and have delivered to the brewery your favorite foods while enjoying a few flights or pints.
google avatar

Burton Z.

Yelp
We came we saw we drank we paid a cover charge to listen to repetitious and self-indulgent jam band music. The beer lines were not clean and so the beer was just barely above average. Two small restrooms for all the patrons. Live and learn. We will skip mankato and go straight to New Ulm next time.

Kevin B.

Yelp
The beer is excellent, such a pleasant surprise for Mankato to have a great micro brewery right here. Service is only at the bar, but good as well. Even Better If: 1) Had food 2) Stayed open later.
google avatar

Amanda P.

Yelp
First time coming to the brewery and we were definitely not disappointed! Loved the beer and service! Will definitely be back!!
google avatar

Hannah L.

Yelp
Really into the boom chicka pop and the nitros. Not really a tour, but the beer is so worth it. Good service. Fun atmosphere, but weird set up. Morale of the story- check it out.
google avatar

Darren D.

Yelp
Here for college games taking in some local flavor! Nothing wrong with the Beer or the service. In a industrial area off the main path not a lot of seats get there early and it has plenty of personality. Not a resturant only bag snacks. But if local flavor is what your after a must stop!
google avatar

Christian E.

Yelp
Great beer made by great people! This brewery is an awesome blend of the down to earth people you find at your favorite dive bar and the incredible beer you expect from an expensive, hipster, craft bar. Local beer, made by locals, for locals.
google avatar

Kevin Z.

Yelp
Awful service. Drove from St. Paul to check out the brewery, on a day there was no post on social media that they would be closing early. Got in AT the cutoff time and they refused to help us out. Extremely disappointing and heartbreaking for beer aficionados.
google avatar

Abe M.

Yelp
This place has space! There is lots of room for the equipment, taproom, and the kitchen sink. The people there are freindly and know their beer. Speaking of which, that's one of the main reason to go here. The Beer! Mankato has a nice variety of beers to choose from. I sampled everything they had on tap, which consisted of Organ Grinder, Duly Noted, Haymaker and another I can't remember the name of. I didn't come across one that I didn't like. Stop by and pick up a pint!
google avatar

Yelp
I was not a huge fan when they first opened. I will say this for certain they have stepped it up big time. I am a huge fan and own a few growlers at home. They venue is unique and they have some very interesting shows coming through. Give these guys a shot if you love beer. They are amazing.

Ben F.

Yelp
Great beer, fun place!!! Was lucky to show up when there were 8 beers on tap and we were able to try all of them in two flights! Nice little spot in Mankato
