Manna Korean BBQ and Dosirak

A good local Korean bbq take-out spot (no table seating inside, just 4 stools with bar top against wall). Service is quick and carry-out order was ready within 10 minutes. Several parking spaces out front if picking up. Menu has a good amount of different options. I thought my food had an overall smokey/grill taste which I did not entirely prefer, however my husband enjoyed the flavor! Worth a try if in the area.

Absolutely amazing Korean food. Simple and super tasty. It's better to order a takeout because the seating inside isn't that comfortable. The food is very authentic and not expensive by DC standards. Ordering online was very easy, and the food was ready for pickup 10 minutes later. The folks working there were very friendly. Totally positive experience!

There’s a lot of meat in the main dish, but not much rice. If you enjoy eating a lot of rice, it might not be enough because the main dish is quite filling！So good！

Too expensive. The bulgogi was good. The fried shrimp were good. The shrimp pancake was just okay. This place is off in NE DC and next to a liquor store. I can see that if I lived near here, I would come here for a Korean fix. But otherwise, this place is too pricey for what it is.

Food itself was good. Not spectacular, but priced well for the value. The portion sizes are great, and the service was really friendly. I did however buy 2 bottle of sodas and both were expired. One was expired by a couple days and it was completely fine, the other was expired by 6 months. I'm guilty as not checking best buy dates on stuff, but I had to look after taking 1 sip. Check the date on your drink before walking out the door. Overall the food was good though, and water never hurts to drink anyways.

Highly underrated little spot. Great for takeout, I always get the tofu stew. Great kimchi too, I always like to order some extra on the side. Husband likes the chicken lunchbox with the corn and cheese. Love the gimbap too. Everything tastes homemade and fresh.

It’s rare to go in with pretty high expectations and have them surpassed but this food was amazing. Loved the slight sweetness of the steak in the manna dosirak, really well cooked. The pork dosirak was really crispy and crunchy on the outside but tender inside. Loved the shrimp, corn cheese, sweet potato noodles...everything! Update: I got the steak (bulgogi) bibimbap (rice bowl) was really amazing. So many different flavors working so well together.

We ordered spicy pork bimbimbap and bulgogi dosirak. Both really fresh and delicious. The spicy pork comes as a level 2 spicy (which was good for me) BUT they give you a full container of gochujang sauce on the side to up the spice level to your liking. And that little container packs some heat! The bulgogi was tasty as well. Good slices of steak with very little fat. Smoky or grilled flavor which gave it a nice twist. The bulgogi sauce is there but it's light. Would have been nice to get more of that expected flavor profile. Came with a choice of sides. We had grilled kimchi and pickled carrots. The veggies were prepared well, not overcooked and, just in case anyone was wondering, the kimchi is NOT at all spicy but still tasty. All in all a hit with our house. Each meal was perfectly portioned for one. Check them out.

It is nice seeing asian food in the area that is more affordable. I always walk around the area for my lunch break and gave this a try. The price for what you get is worth it, especially with the generous bulgolgi to rice proportions. The bulgolgi was juicy and tender. The kimchi was not spicy in my opinion, which was good for me. The food took about 10 minutes, which is pretty normal for asian food. I feel like this place is a hidden gem in the area and hope it will stay here for a while. The restaurant is not made for dining in, as it only has bar-styled wall tables. The area looked clean and had cute decorations behind the counter.

I was visiting DC and this was the closest restaurant to where I was staying, so looking for a quick dinner, I decided to check it out. Completely empty when I went on a Monday night, the space is small with about 5 seats available inside. They have a straightforward menu with meat and vegan options, and the boxes are customizable to what veggie sides you want. I tried the manna box with tofu as the protein ($11) and carrots and broccoli as the sides. The food was ready in minutes. Although the tofu was nicely seasoned with soy garlic sauce and decent, the carrots were heavily pickled and the broccoli was simply steamed. Overall a simple meal with no flare.

An unassuming neighborhood Korean place - how awesome!! We tried the japchae, kimchi, fried shrimp, kimbap, seafood pancake, and it was all utterly perfection. Definitely give it a try if you're in the neighborhood!

The food is always good and consistent at a good price. The staff is friendly and they don't have that 6" thick glass up like most of the carryouts

Oh, man - we really wanted to like Manna Dosirak, but the food here seemed to cater and appease the non-Asian tastebuds. Their menu offers various appetizers (mandu, japchae, gimpab, haemul pajeon, etc.), bibimop, and dosiraks. We came here for an early lunch, and we ordered: +Gimpab - filledw ith carrots, radish, cucumber, and seasoned brudock root; the rice was very vinegar heavy, and the kimbop was way too sour +a Bulgogi Bibimbap - came with rice, lettuce, shredded radish, shredded carrots, cucumbers, bean sprouts, and a fried egg with sesame oil, sesame seeds, and green onions on top; the bulgogi was okay, but it was more on the sweeter end; the veggies were okay, but they could be a bit more fresh and more crunchy/crisp +a Chicken Cutlet dosirak - the chicken donkatsu was okay; it was thin and breaded well, and it came with a side of donkatsu sauce +a Shrimp dosirak - you can opt for hot or a sweet sour sauce; we opted for the hot; the shrimp had a fishy smell to it, so we didn't eat it; the side banchans were similar to the ones in the bibimbop - could have been more fresh and crunchy/crisp; we did like the shrimp tempura, as it was very crispy, but heavily breaded; the jahp chae was too oily Service here is super friendly! There is a kiosk where you can order; the place seems to get tons of online/mobile orders for pickups. There is limited counter space with some stools to dine-in, but most seem to get their orders to go. We're glad to give this place a try, but wouldn't return. I'd heard good things about this place and decided to grab some takeout for dinner. I like that their menu has so many options and also allows for a lot of customizability. I had the spicy chicken box and some gimbap (always a sucker for gimbap as it reminds me of fun treats while traveling). The spicy chicken was perfectly cooked with a good heat without being overly sweet which sometimes happens. The cucumber kimchi was solid, but I found the broccoli didn't need all the extra gochujang. The gimbap was perfect and very fresh. Totally balanced out the meal.

AMAZING AFFORDABLE KOREAN FOOD IN DC!!!! I usually have to go to VA for cheap delicious Korean dishes, but this is game-changing. Love to support a small family business. This is so perfect for take-out because of the boxes. The boxes come with rice and 2 sides, and the Manna Dosiraks come with additional 2 sides. I LOVE THE SPICY PORK! The Chicken Cutlet also not bad. Favorite sides are Japchae, Kimchi Cucumber, Radish, and Yellow Corn with Cheese. Also enjoyed the Kimchi Napa, Fried Shrimp, and Vegetable Mandoo. Can't wait to come back and try more things :-)

I just got takeout from here so I can't say anything about their actual location, but OH MY GOODNESS I'm so happy I did. Delicious mandy, bulgogi, kimchi fried rice, japche, sweet rice honey pancake (traveled perfectly and YUMMMM), we also ordered some gimbap which was so flavorful, and soondubu. If I could, I'd order from here multiple times per week. I think we're going to make this a weekly occurrence though. So delicious, just have food from here, you definitely won't be disappointed

Visited during the pandemic... Very friendly owner! First time here after reading the glowing online reviews and it did not disappoint! Small mom and pop shop with pretty authentic Korean food. I got the spicy pork and it was delicious. All the side dishes are very well made too! I highly recommend the cheese corn! Very well priced and affordable. Will definitely come back again

The kimbap was so good. Very fresh and it took a only 10mins to get the whole order ready. The gimbap was also really good. It's a tiny place, it is mainly for take out.

4.5 stars What a lifesaver during this pandemic! Manna Dosirak has generously portioned Korean boxes that come with variety of sides, as well as bibimbap. I regularly get the pork or beef boxes, and usually opt for the cucumber and cabbage kimchis as my primary sides. If you order a manna box, you also get two more sides. The jap chae is solid and I usually opt for the jap chae and shrimp as my manna sides. Skip the curry though, as it's a bit bland (close to Japanese style curry, but needs more concentrated spice). One of my friends swears by their tofu, and it looks like they are veggie friendly. Online ordering is super easy from their site, and I've always had good customer service here. This is a quick grab and go spot, so social distancing usually isn't too difficult. Overall, quick, reliable mom and pop shop with good food.

Overall, Manna Dosirak was a great experience. I ordered a Beef Bibimbap bowl for delivery. The order via the app came on time with no issues. The bowl was delicious, with everything still hot, perfectly cooked beef (other than one piece), an excellent beef-and-veggie-to-rice ratio (not too much rice like many bowls), and a delicious spicy sauce on the side. Additionally, Manna Dosirak's bowl was appropriately priced, affordable, and a good portion size.

Drove up from NC and wanted to grab a bite to eat nearby for our first night, and Manna Dosirak was only a five minute walk from our AirBnB. The food was hot and ready for us within 25 minutes of putting in the order! We ordered two bulgogi bibimbaps and a haemul pajeon, and both were delicious! The portions were large -- one bibimbap bowl is big enough for two, or one really hungry person. The haemul pajeon was huge and packed with veggies and seafood. The only thing for me was that I wished the egg was sunny side up instead of a fired egg with no runny yolk, but that's a personal preference.

Manna Dosirak is the latest restaurant in the tiny strip of businesses on the corner of 15th and D Streets NE in Kingman Park. It's a tough spot as its predecessors moved on from the location. I hope Manna Dosirak can crack the code, because their product is excellent. It's a small Korean restaurant owned by a couple. The wife takes your order and they both go to the nearby open kitchen to make your food. The space itself caters to the take-out crowd, but there are several high stools with wall seating. Note there aren't any outlets so don't expect to charge your phone as you eat. The menu includes boxes and a menu for larger portioned food. They also sell bibimbap. For $10.50 after-tax, I ordered the beef box with white rice, kimchi, and cheesy corn. Each part of the meal was well prepared and the seasoning on the beef...wow...amazing! They have a fridge stocked with all kinds of soda. For $1 (they take cash), I had an orange Fanta from a can.

I am obsessed with this place. Thanks to COVID, I think I eat here once a week. Everything I've had is delicious, the staff are so kind if you have questions about the menu or whatever, and they've made their space look really neat. I'm a fan of the cheesy corn, the beef and the pork are equally good, and the mandu are the perfect complement. What are you waiting for? Go now (or order online, I don't know your life).

We got delivery and loved it! We live about half an hour away and the food was still delicious when it arrived. I'm excited to try going there in person for another good meal!

So I wanted to start this review by saying "I am confused by these other 5 star ratings" but that wouldn't be fair because I have not tried everything on the menu. However, I did order the Steak Box with Cucumber Kimchi, and Broccoli. The food was just OK, emphasis on OK. The bulgogi tasted pre frozen and I just couldn't get passed that. Kimchi, broccoli, and rice were fine but the reviews were honestly misleading (TO ME) because the food was just not good lol. I def wouldn't return here. If you want delicious Korean/bulgogi, BANGBOP IS DELISHHHH. BUSSSSSIN. look it up. thank me l8r!

My fiancée and I often get takeout from Manna Dosirak and can confidently say it's a hidden gem! The food is delicious, fresh and very affordable with great portions. The owners are so friendly and the service is quick and welcoming. The bibimbap, gimbap and japchae noodles are some of our favorites and we love the fun selection of drinks.

My gf and I got rained out of the National cannabis festival after sitting in traffic for 3 hours. We were tired, exhausted, and hungry. Googled a spot and this place popped up. We love Asian food so we came. Small mom and pop shop, super cute but you can order on a tablet with pictures! That makes it easier for them and us. The food came quickly. We both got a fried chicken cutlet, sweet sauce which is to die for, the cheese corn, broccoli, pot stickers (I don't believe they were called that but lack of a better term!) shrimp tempura, and some cans of Coke. Amazing food. We saved some for later. Come here if you're in the area and want a quick, filling, delicious meal.

This is great Americanized Korean food! It's better than you would find at a Asian grocery food court and the price is great for the DC area. We've ordered delivery here twice and customer service has been very timely and order has been correct. The banchan are fresh, and I like the variety. Of course, I wish the portions were bigger, but I also eat 1.5 meals when I eat out so there's that... I definitely recommend if craving Korean food and you can't fathom driving out to Rockville.

Food is excellent and is prepared quickly. The Bulgogi is tasty and the bibimbap is soft and plentiful. Their ordering site is jank but it does work. Honestly, the only thing I'm not ecstatic about is the fried shrimp.

Amazing food! I live in the neighborhood and finally decided to try this as I'm so tired of ordering delivery. Menu is a bit confusing, but I'm sure you can't go wrong. Firstly, Cheesy corn !!! The kimchi isn't too overbearing, the bulgogi may be the best I've had, and the veggie Manoo is insanely delicious. Great value for your money- all this for $15. The lady was very kind and it was ready quickly. I'm definitely getting extra corn and manoo next time- I suggest you do the same! Please eat local and keep this great place in business!

Wow! I cannot tell you how much I love this place. In the last two weeks, I've ordered here at least five times. The woman running the place is so sweet and more importantly, the food is just GOOD. If I had to nitpick, the japchae is just a tad too sweet, but even that doesn't stop me from ordering it. It's consistent, I've never had burnt food or food where the flavors were off. I've also tried the kimchi fried rice, and I've definitely had better with that one (wasn't slightly sweet like the original recipe typically calls for and pretty dry) but I can't bring myself to knock off a star because the boxes are just so good. Corn cheese in a dosirak?! AND I get japchae, meat, rice, a veggie, and fried shrimp? For that price? This place deserves SIX stars it's so good. I recommend the Pork Cutlet Manna Box and the Spicy Pork Manna Dosirak. It is now dinner time and I didn't plan on ordering from this place tonight but talking about it is making me miss it, so I'm off to UberEats. EAT HERE, I promise you won't regret it. EDIT: Ugh, I ordered the chicken cutlet this time and this place can do no wrong, just look at it!

This is a great Korean spot! I got takeout here recently and was impressed by the flavors and portion size. The bulgogi was very tasty, juicy and flavorful. The plates come with an ample portion of rice and kimchi. I also had the sweet pancake, which was not overly sweet. Perfect mix of sweet and savory. I like this spot a lot and would recommend it! There really aren't a ton of Korean places in DC, so this one definitely fills a much-needed void of reasonably priced and tasty.

Cool Korean spot tucked away in DC. I ran past this place on a run one morning and immediately thought I had to try this place out. Very convenient and easy to access if you're picking up. Everything they had sounded so good and the portion size was just the right amount to leave me satisfied but not overstuffed. Delicious and flavorful which made me super happy since DC doesn't have as many Korean spots. Dosirak pork was really good and mine came with a couple of veggie sides and 2 dumplings and one tempura shrimp. Ordering during COVID can usually mean backed up orders but this place was great. When I came on time for my pickup the pickup was seamless and they had already had my order ready. Excited to try some of their other dishes in the future!

I used to enjoy going to the korea/Latin fusion restaurant that was once where Manna is now and boy oh boy do I wish that the old restaurant was still there. I tried the bulgogi with brown rice, broccoli and cheese corn. I also tried the chicken with white rice and kimchi. The best thing that I tried was the cheese corn. I felt like the bulgogi could've used an accompanying sauce and the chicken was mediocre at best. The kimchi tasted very Americanized to me as well. I also tried the ho-tteok ( the dessert pancake) it was mildly sweet but it didn't have any other real flavor besides being sweet. Overall, I've had better korean food.

I've never had dosirak before but it is similar to Japanese bento box. Start by choosing white or brown rice, your main (bulgogi, chicken, pork, tofu etc), and then pick 2 side items from category A and category B. I thought the bulgogi was incredibly well seasoned and had a ton of flavor. I also liked the mandu and japchae sides. The shredded carrots had a slight pickle to them which I didn't expect and cheesy corn didn't have a ton of cheese, but I still enjoyed them. The only reason they're 4 star instead of 5, is that it took about 15 minutes to receive our food after ordering. It would be great to order ahead on the phone but no one picked up at the time. I will definitely come back because I've heard good things from friends about the spicy chicken and pork cutlet so of course will need to try those. Overall, Manna Dosirak is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood!

I was craving Korean food today and I found this place DoorDash. My friends and I got 3 bentos (the chicken, steak, and spicy pork) and they were delicious! The meat and all the sides were very tasty and well cooked and the price was decent (each bento was $12.50). Would definitely order from here again!

A neighborhood gem if there ever was one!! This joint serves up amazing food at affordable prices. Since discovering them during COVID, my go-to main has been the spicy pork, and I haven't been disappointed their menu. Everything has been high-quality and delicious. The soondubu is awesome and huuuuge serving. Re: the sides, don't sleep on the cheesy corn. Honestly, I'm upset about not knowing that I should have out cheese on my corn this whole time. And, they also have freshmade hotteok for dessert! It's really dope. The final pluses are that online order is super easy and that the owners are just super nice. It feels quite easy to pop in your order and swing by the COVID-safe space to pick up. There is also a nice selection of Korean snacks and drinks for sale in the store.

Everything was so delicious!! The beef was so tender. I'm now a fan of sweet potato noodles.

Small family-owned Korean restaurant serving combo meal boxes. The owners are very kind and the interior design is attractive - it would be a prime spot to grab affordable lunch with friends post-pandemic. It really is inexpensive for the amount of food you get; I was full for the rest of the day as the pork cutlet is a thick helping. The coating is crunchy and crispy, and the dipping sauce pairs TOO well. I was devastated to find out they're closed on Sundays because I wanted to stop by for a second day in a row! It's that good!

I love this place! Even though the location could be better for them, this place is pretty good. Prices are definitely more than reasonable and pretty authentic enough. None of that fusion nonsense these young cats be doing these days. I've been looking for a place like this near work and the good Lord finally answered my prayers!!! I've only been once. I'm just updating my review to note that I've been ordering from Manna Dosirak a couple of times a month for nearly a year now, and all of their food is incredible. It's been tremendously consistent, and I've been delighted with everything I've tried. They have recently added sundubu (a soft tofu stew) to the menu, and it is out of this world amazing. Just order from Manna Dosirak - you won't regret it!

So delicious! I always get the bulgogi bibimbap and have never been disappointed. The price is good, and there is always enough for two meals. Definitely my go-to restaurant when I need something close.

This place probably has the most authentic bulgogi I've ever tasted in D.C. I don't know quite how to explain it, but you should be able to tell that the marinade has been on the grill. There's a kick to Manna's bulgogi that I haven't found anywhere else in D.C., and as a Korean-American who's lived here for 15 years, I've looked *everywhere*. I also love, love, love the fact that they have Korean-style Japanese curry. (It's a little lighter than Japanese curry.) It's what your mom makes when she's really tired from work, and doesn't really have the energy to deal with you. Instant-mix curry, rice, kimchi, and poof. Food. I don't think any other Korean place in D.C. offers that, so I appreciate the return to nostalgia.

Great spot! I wish I had found this place sooner. Close to my house, quick pickup, tasty food. The pork dosirak and the chicken cutlet dosirak were both really delicious. Love the side options, too! I still have a little pork and rice leftover because it was a lot of food - great deal for $12.

I appreciate that this place is opened for take out during COVID but food is nothing special. It is ok and it is in convenient neighborhood location. Small family owned business. Will probably order again for convenience and as a gesture of support of small local business ( and to be honest - when I am too tired to go somewhere else and too lazy to cook)

Good food! FETG truck still parks here so I though maybe this would be like District Burger, which was formerly here- same owner but a diff restaurant. I don't think that's the case though. I've enjoyed a couple meals from them and liked both but I believe the business has some kinks to work out like their phone number their website online ordering etc. five stars for good food in this part of the neighborhood!

Man this place is good. I often work nearby and get take-out for lunch. There is a small bar area for eating but most are take-outs. Maybe with COVID, people feel more comfortable to grab and go, but there is a place to sit and eat if need be. I have only had the steak manna box because it's so good, I can't bring my self to try anything else! I get double cucumber kimchi as the side. The kimchi is not super spicy but very flavorful. The cucumbers, year-round, have been great. Never once are they soft - always fresh. The steak is tender and also packed with flavor. I'm sure, given the price it's not filet, but it is tender and not chewy. A+ in my book. Inside the place looks and smells clean. I've always ordered from the same woman working the counter and she's always in a great mood. Food is prepared to order so it takes a few minutes, but never more than 5-10 minutes and I'd rather wait and have it fresh. Overall a great spot!

I live in the area and had been eyeing the empty storefront for months, waiting for the next thing to move in, so I was excited to see this place open at last! It's take-out style with little to no seating, so don't expect a sit-down restaurant experience. I got the sweet and sour chicken Dosirak, which was a bit on the sweet side for my taste, but the mandu dumpling, fried shrimp stick, and kimchi on the side hit the spot. Pro tip: compared to the manna box, the Dosirak gives you double the sides for not much more money. I want to go back and try the spicy chicken and japchae next time. Great addition to the neighborhood!

The owners are so sweet and friendly. The bulgogi bibimbap was pretty good and the donkatsu was crispy and tasty. I also ordered the kimchi soondubu which was alright but a bit sweet for my taste. The gimbap didn't have any meat (usually they put more ingredients, like ham, spinach, etc.) and was overly vinegar-y. Overall okay but definitely not a routine place for me.
