This beef brisket sandwich was good. If you're a hard core BBQ fan you might not find this is your favorite, but for the price it's a good, easy cheap meal. The family that owns and runs it is so nice and friendly. I'm sure they'd be open to feedback, if you are someone who has a strong opinion about Texas BBQ. I personally just want to be able to grab a sandwich to go, and these guys make that easy. I used to go to Bahn Town next door but their food safety rating turned me off, so now I'll be going to Manna BBQ for a quick meal.

I was really craving some ribs today and decided to try this on the way home. The portions are big but unfortunately the meat tasted like lighter fluid. There’s articles on the web that talk about alternatives to starting charcoal like chimney starters. Maybe Manna’s doesn’t use lighter fluid to start their charcoal but whatever it was the flavor was really off and the ribs smelled like a tire shop. Too bad because this seems well rated on Yelp and like a Greenwood mainstay.

Finally, BBQ that taste and looks like BBQ. The pulled pork here was really good, fresh and juicy, highly recommend checking the place out. Will probably cost $8-$14ish depending on what you get

Just came in for a late lunch. We got two light plates - pulled pork and brisket. Those come with just one side and some corn bread - we got baked beans and potato salad. When we got two sides of beans instead the gentleman behind the counter was super gracious about it and gave us the salad no problem. Anyways, onto the food. I really liked it. Specifically I liked that it was not SWEET. Even my husband who is not a baked beans fan because of the usual sweetness, liked the beans here. Same with the BBQ sauce. We got the medium which had enough to make your mouth tingle but not enough to swear. I'll probably go up a level when I come back. I also intend to try the pork ribs next time as well. The meat is cooked separately with the sauce of your choice put over the top at the end, as far as I can tell with the meat I ordered. The ribs may be different. So the meat is not cooked in the sauce but even still the pulled pork and brisket were nice and tender with its own flavors that complimented the sauce on top. The potato salad was good too, not super mayonnaisey. I wasn't enthused about the corn bread but that's a minor detail, when is cornbread ever spectacular? So yeah, I would like to come back.

Google
Really enjoyed the brisket lunch plate! My only criticism is the meat had a slight ashtray taste, which means the fire was oxygen starved while smoking. Not a huge deal, but for a place specializing in Texas BBQ I expected perfect smoke flavor. Still enjoyed it, and fair prices! I'll go again

Google
We came to this place on a whim and as an avid BBQ fan from the mountains of North Carolina I can certify that this is legit good BBQ. IT IS Texas style meaning the classic tomato based pre-sauced style. I like all styles but this place doesn’t claim to be anything they aren’t and their homemade pecan pie was one of the best I had. Great prices and super nice staff. If you like classic Texas style BBQ then you won’t be disappointed.

Google
I got the small Smoked Spud with pulled pork & medium sauce! It was the perfect sized portion! They give you a generous amount of toppings & sauce. My wife & I shared cornbread and beans as well. Really satisfied our craving for Southern Style BBQ like we are used to from home (Oklahoma!) The sauce is addicting! We will be back!

I have eaten Manna Texas BbQ five or six times now! It is consistently really tasty. I always get the beef ribs dinner with the spicy sauce. Ive taken a couple friends at times so I've tried the pork ribs and the pulled pork sandwich as well. The beef ribs are definitely my favorite 😍. The sauce is spicy but does not sacrifice any flavor for heat. The first time I ate these I felt like a wild animal. I was like licking the bones after of eaten all the meat and looking for other things in the house to dip in the delectable sauce. The restaurant is quite small. Maybe 6 or 7 places to sit. I usually get my food Togo. The pecan pie they make is also very good!

Yelp
It was difficult to find a place that served bbq ribs. My daughter wanted to try this place so we decided to call in an order. The restaurant is a good size in a outdoor plaza. Parking was difficult, but the guy at the oil change place allowed me to park in one of their spaces to do my pickup. Our order included half of a bbq chicken, bbq ribs, briskets, with potato salad, Cole slaw, beans, and cornbread. Everything was a good size for a party of 4. The meats weren't fatty but had substance. The flavors were just right (they had options of mild, medium, and spicy bbq sauce). My favorite was the brisket, juicy and prepared the way I like to eat my brisket. Would definitely be back the next time we are in town. Price was very reasonable for the amount of food we got. Service was on point, our food was ready at their specified time.

Yelp
I'm sorry to give 2 stars but I had so many hopes for a place that says Texas BBQ and had beef bakers (stuffed baked potatoes) on the menu. 1st they were out of pork and brisket (he said he had enough for a potato) and there was maybe 2 tablespoons worth, 2nd it wasn't a baked potatoes it was pieces of a potato in a bowl with sour cream, 3rd the ribs were so tiny even my 80 year old father in law who eats like a bird was still Hungry after eating, and 4th it's not Texas bbq if it isn't smoked and the brisket had no smoke ring and tasted like they added liquid smoke to the sauce. Don't call yourself Texas BBQ if you aren't going to serve Texas BBQ. There are too many of us transplants up here that would gladly be regular customers to those that do it right.

Yelp
I'm not a big BBQ fan. I mean, I'll eat it, but it can't be bad. Like, I need to taste the smokiness of the meat. It can't be drowned in sauce. They could've given me a tad less sauce. But I was ok with that. My bbq can't be extremely expensive like some are, and my sides have to be right. My buddy and I were riding around on a cold, wet PNW day. He suggested this place for lunch. He's been a customer for years. The place is small. Don't let that fool ya. I got the Lite Brisket, corn bread and slaw. It was good. The Cole slaw was perfect. Cole slaw can't be too sweet. Can't be too wet. This one had the perfect balance. The brisket was soo tender. Maybe a little less sauce. The corn bread muffin was even good. Wasn't too expensive either. I should've had the pecan pie. This place is good. I thought I couldn't eat all of the plate. I did. I'll be back.

Yelp
Love this place. Refound them years ago after the moved from Fremont to greenwood. Seriously bummed they retired. Best wishes to the entire family.

Dre G.

Yelp
Very delicious sandwich. I've been passing by the bbq spot for alittle while now, an I truly regret it. I will be back.

David K.

Yelp
Food is tasty...cleaner than most bbq joints around. Loving the Texas Spud here! Plus 'Excellent' food safety rating

Doug P.

Yelp
Simply the best bbq that the area can offer. I drive over 40 miles to pick some up since I moved up north and worth it every time. Shout out to Jay and his family. I hope all is well.

Susie A.

Yelp
Very nice pulled pork. The mild sauce was just right. A nice little neighborhood lunch stop.

Yelp
This place was great! I know the how picky people get with BBQ and they love expressing it in Yelp reviews; but at the end of the day, this food is delicious. Don't expect it to be exactly the ribs from your home somewhere else.. while it may or may not be, I think that's a dumb metric for judging chunks of cooked meat. It's good and flavorful. Furthermore, the 1/2 pork ribs plate is priced better than your going to find ribs anywhere else in this town. I had a large chicken sandwich and pork rib plate Service was kind, takeout was neatly packed. I ate everything before I thought about a picture for this review. Haha Enjoy!

Pat G.

Yelp
From living in Texas I know what I'm looking for in pulled pork. Currently, take out only but I must say does not disappoint. Got the 1# Pulled Pork to feed a family of (3). BB beans, cornbread, and white rice. Amazing. Not expensive and the medium sauce had that bit to it. If you are a BBQ lover check this place out in the Greenwood area. The service was fast and very nice to deal with. So happy Covid did not close this place down.

Kris J.

Yelp
There's a reason why "sauce pooling" will disqualify you in BBQ competition. Places that do this are attempting to smother poor BBQ in sauce. So this is yet another NW "BBQ" joint that passes off steamed meat smothered in sauce as BBQ because it fools most people. When I asked where the bark was (the carmelized rub on the outside of real "Q"), the reply was "we don't do it that way". Oh, so instead of a smoker, you use a Crockpot? The beans were right out of the can. Would a little chopped onion and black pepper be too much trouble? The fact that this place has stayed in business so long is a true testament to local lack of BBQ knowledge. Put some of that sauce slather in your beans. The slaw was good though.

Yelp
My wife and I had a hankering for some good 'ol BBQ one night and started looking around Yelp to see what we could see. We have a near 1-year old, we wanted somewhere that was good ... quick ... and family friendly. We found it here, at Manna Smoked BBQ. Located in a small little storefront in a tiny strip of businesses, Manna is just what we were looking for. Nothing fancy, no frills, but good food that's served quickly. We've had plenty of our share of BBQ over the years (although we don't profess to be experts) and we have to say that we were completely pleased and satisfied with our meal. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and I had a rack of baby-back ribs. Sides included baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, and cornbread. Everything was great. The meat was tender and lead ... hardly any gristle at all! All of the sides were delicious too (my favs were the slaw and cornbread). One of the nice things they offer is a choice of sauce. You can go with mild, medium, or spicy/hot. We both went with mild (even though I usually want things spicier), and I'm glad we did. The mild tasted like a usual medium, so just a head's up for your preference. The only drawback to Manna was the ratio of sauce to meat. I wouldn't go so far as to say that they were trying to hide the taste/quality of the meat with lots of sauce ... but both the sandwich and ribs were dripping or pooling with sauce. It was all tasty, but I could've done with either less sauce or more meat --- preferably more meat. =) Other than that, all was good at Manna and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to grab a quick BBQ meal! As for the puddles of sauce, look at it this way ... you'll have plenty to dip your cornbread into!

Yikhwan D.

Yelp
This place is misleading. Its not smoked BBQ, and certainly not Texas style. There was no smoke ring in the meat or bark around the outside. They must cook the meat in the oven and grill it to give it a smoky taste on the outside. Not a bad way to cook meat, but thats not Texas style smoked bbq. And they smother the food in some generic bbq sauce. Away from the technicalities of smoke/style, it tasted like food from school cafeteria. i would never recommend ribs or brisket.

Peter G.

Yelp
Let's start off with this: I am not a BBQ purist. It doesn't matter to me how other places do it or what people call it. I like what I like. This is my favorite BBQ place anywhere. I get the combo plate of chicken & brisket as often as I can (though, if there was more readily available parking nearby, I might have it more often.) Though, obviously, I like their chicken...I particularly like their brisket...which is sliced. I like their sauce...and I like it smothered on their meat... Evidently, that's how I like barbecue. And I know I'm not the only one, because everyone I've taken to this place (mostly take-out) has enjoyed it as much as me. The staff has always been very friendly with me and my family over the years...and suggesting Manna for dinner always gets a lot of excitement and agreement from my wife and son!

Tanya C.

Yelp
I think this place Is pretty dang good. The coleslaw is excellent and the selection is solid, with three different heat levels of bbq sauce to pick from.

Alex N.

Yelp
I work down the street but I've worked in north Seattle for awhile and this spot is always consistent and the owner is always so polite the food is great and I never get tired of it!! Definitely give manna smoked bbq a try!!

J K.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place, but not so much. It's not terrible, but I've definitely had better BBQ. Maybe it's just not my style of BBQ. It seemed too saucy.

Eric E.

Yelp
Ribs and most of the food taste weird here-- like it's served with generic sauce mixed with bad liquid smoke. I love BBQ and a mean full rack of ribs. Unfortunately, this place didn't hit home. I'm sure some will enjoy it. Just not me. Sorry, 2 stars.

Tomáš C.

Yelp
No complaints here at all! Sandwiches and meat are great value and the barbecue is very solid. There isn't much barbecue in the Seattle area and this is one of the only ones at a medium price point, and it's great!! Out of the brisket, pork and chicken I've tried, brisket easily wins. The spicy sauce is crucial as well

Nick S.

Yelp
Little hidden gem in Seattle. Brisket is off the hook. Real authentic Texas bbq spot tucked behind a Jiffy lube. Service and food is on point

Jacob N.

Yelp
The pulled pork bbq was horrible, it tasted like something out of a can. The cornbread was dry and tasted like sugared cardboard. The food was not comparable for the price paid, I only wish I could tell myself an hour ago that I making a horrible mistake.

Scott B.

Yelp
Best Beef Ribs I've found in the state of WA. As an avid BBQ fan and a Texas native; I vouch for this deliciousness!! Brisket is delicious and the beans have some heat

M. C.

Yelp
Very nice Staff. Food was tasty and served very fast. I really appreciate this little spot. Try the brisket sandwich.

dlrowolleh l.

Yelp
Great food fast service. I recommend the pecan pie if you have some room after your BBQ.

Monica B.

Yelp
I've lived in the neighborhood for years and finally decided to try this place out. Overall, the food is okay. I love brisket and I'm always looking for some that's slow cooked and flavorful. The meat definitely had flavor but alas, it was dry. :-( The coleslaw was average - not bad but not memorable. The portions are on point. I felt like it was a decent value. The ribs had a good amount of meat on them and the sauce was good (but didn't taste homemade). Parking is crowded at this strip mall during peak meal times but it is on a number of different bus lines. The dining area is a bit small but definitely clean. The staff members are super nice and helpful.

Brian P.

Yelp
Best Brisket in town. I'm from Virginia and have had BBQ all over the country. Mannas reminds me of home plus for BBQ its cheap. Pecan pie is a must.

Katie A.

Yelp
Calling all Texans... and/or people who like the grilled meats! The BBQ here is phenomenal. And while I've been informed by a real Texan that it's almost traditional Big Star barbe, the addition of a pickle bar and some extra sauce on the table in squeeze bottles would make it 100% solid. Do not let this bizarre location fool you. This is the real friggin' deal. I went with the 1/2 portion of smoked pork ribs (in mild, medium, or hot sauce) with a choice of one side (go with the 'slaw- it's fantastic) and a cornbread muffin for about $10. My gent had the brisket sandwich with the potato salad side for $6. With water an an additional side, the total came to just under $21. The ribs were excellent, smoked to perfection in house- right in back, actually. The sandwich was perfect and according to the Texan, only needed pickles and a little more sauce. The portions are decent and filling, but aren't over the top too much. The kitsch factor is most definitely a factor, the service is great and the folks here are so nice, this is easily our new 'go to' for tasty authentic BBQ in SeaTown... And if that's not enough for you, two of out two Texans have given this joint their thumbs up. Convincing enough for you? It is for me.

Maks Y.

Yelp
The cashier recommended the baby back ribs.... The bbq is not real smoked bbq...but liquid smoke flavored... I actually liked it maybe because they offered rice...that is how I eat my bbq! I will be coming back.

Richard U.

Yelp
Always on the hunt for good BBQ in Seattle. A tall order for these parts. BBQ is an extremely touchy subject as well. That being said, I decided to check the grub here out. Anywho, I got the 2 meat combo with pork and beef ribs and an additional half pound order of beef brisket. Brisket tasted a bit more like pot roast smothered in a thick bbq sauce. I ordered the hot stuff but not much of a kick here. The ribs both had much of the silver skin on so they were a bit chewier and harder to bite through then they had to be. I liked the coleslaw a lot. I was suprised to see steamed white rice on the menu but didn't order it during this visit. Rice would go with ribs right?

Seth N.

Yelp
It just wasn't very good. The brisket had little flavor and was drenched in a very generic BBQ sauce. Cornbread is very easy to make but theirs was bland. The beans truly tasted like canned beans. I really wanted to like his place as it's close to home and the staff was friendly, but they really need to improve their food.

LeBain L.

Yelp
Seattle doesn't have many BBQ places, and even fewer takeout BBQ places. So this is one of my regular visits. This is not really an eat-in place. You'll want to take out. I recommend the Pulled Pork platters. Be sure to ask for your sauce on the side, since they put way too much on. The sauce isn't bad, it's just way too smoky. For sides, I like the cornbread and the cole slaw. The beans and potato salad are acceptable.

Maki S.

Yelp
I ate here a couple days ago and did NOT get sick, and neither did the majority of reviewers. Just sayin'. My boyfriend got a pulled pork sandwich and I got a light bite plate of baby back ribs (3-4pieces), potato salad and cornbread. There wasn't a lot of meat on 2/4 of the bones, but the flavor of the spicy BBQ sauce made up for that, because it's not too sweet or spicy. It was a delicious meal, and our new barbecue hot spot.

Thomas J.

Yelp
Hmmmm. I guess I'm a BBQ connoisseur now, because after eating some good meat in Tennessee, and having more than a few sandwiches at another local place in town, I was unimpressed by this place. And by unimpressed, I mean that it was a middle-of-the-road three-star experience - better than eating elsewhere, but not particularly stand-outish in any aspect of the meal. I had a pork sandwich with medium sauce, which was decent - it was the special, and potato salad on the side. I think I should have gotten the hot sauce. The value is pretty good, but I have a short list of places in town that serve excellent BBQ, and I'm wavering on whether or not to add this place to the list. Better than meh, but not better than that. 3 stars.

Jeff D.

Yelp
I've lived in Seattle for 3 years now and have found several BBQ joints then the other day I was trying to avoid HWY 99 and I spied with my little eye, Manna Texas Style Smoked BBQ. I didn't have a chance to pull a quick rickie into the parking lot without cutting anyone off so I decided to give this place a shot the next time I had to hit Home Depot; today was the day. I went in and the smell hit me just right, next thing I know I'm trying to decide what I want with a mouthful to taste buds screaming for a jihad on some BBQ. I was greeted and presented with the daily special which was the BBQ pork on a bun and a side of potato salad. I went with the medium sauce after learning my lesson eating Pecos's hot BBQ sauce, yowza! The guy working the counter asked if this was my first time coming in and I said yes, he assured me that I would be back after trying it so that got me pretty excited and I tore my @ss home and unwrapped the sandwich. First impressions were good, the bun was good size, the pork covered the bun, and there was plenty of sauce to go with it. After a few bites I couldn't stop thinking about how tender the meat was, which was immediately proceeded by devouring the rest and wanting more. Luckily, I had the potato salad which was so-so, I like egg in my potato salad and I'd eat it again, but I think I'll go for the coleslaw next time. I have to agree with most of my fellow other Texans here, this place just needs to offer up some pickles, jalapeno's, and some extra sauce. Either way this place is muy bueno and I'll be heading back again to try the ribs and a few other things on the menu.....

Valentina N.

Yelp
Basic BBQ food; pulled pork/beef/etc, with classic sides. Have it in a sandwich, on a plate, or on a potato. Menu is very simple, which would be OK if the food was something more than just OK.

Justin I.

Yelp
This place is good if I'm hungry and in the mood for a pulled pork sandwich or something like that. I don't really have a horse in the race regarding the perpetual controversy over what constitutes "true" barbeque, and I have no idea how Manna stacks up to the "authentic" stuff. What I will say is that the sauce is just slightly too sweet for my liking, but the meat is tender and the rolls are nice and soft. The sides are boring, but fine. The decor is what you'd expect at a typical teriyaki or pho place -- mismatched Value Village knick knacks, gold-framed travel posters, a television blaring Judge Alex, and dozens of outdated, sauce-stained copies of Newsweek lying around. And if there was any ambiance to be gleaned from all of that, it would be obliterated by the bright fluorescent lights overhead. The guy behind the counter is nice, but interaction always seems awkward for some reason. Manna's not gonna win any barbeque awards, it's not a cozy or even particularly comfortable place to eat, but it does fill a certain void, especially now that the OK Corral down the street has closed. There are times when a halfway decent pulled pork sandwich is the best thing in the world.

Opal D.

Yelp
Came here for a quick casual lunch during the work day. Ribs were very tasty but serving was relatively small compared to other BBQ places in Seattle. The "hot" BBQ sauce was actually spicy! The potato salad and baked beans were very mediocre and the corn bread was cold and not very tasty at all.

Calvin K.

Yelp
For me, the best tasting barbecue in Seattle. (I have been to Smokin' Pete's and RoRo's) A see a few complaints about beans, cornbread, etc. If you go to barbecue joints for those items then you are doing wrong. This place has a nice hickory smoke, moist ribs and pork, and sweet spicy sauce. Just like in the South, the most unassuming barbecue joints have the best tasting meat. Manna is no exception!

Chip A.

Yelp
Family owned and some of the best BBQ this side of the Mississippi. Jay and family always take great care!

Kara N.

Yelp
I don't frequent this place just because it is so close to my house. This is amazing BBQ! And they don't skimp on the sides! I love their coleslaw and potato salad. Well done, tasty, fast and great prices!

Greenlake V.

Yelp
This has been our go-to spot for years for quick, tasty pulled pork sandwiches and ribs. Brisket is good too. Ask for the sauce on the side so you can portion it yourself. Sides are pretty standard but consistently flavorful. Slices of pecan pie are a great finish to any meal here (sprinkle a little salt on the pie for a salty-sweet.) Jay is always friendly and efficient. Great family restaurant!

Zella N.

Yelp
Great BBQ, friendly service and price is more reasonable than a lot of places! Would definitely come back and recommend to friends!

Michael N.

Yelp
I came here about 9 months ago and ordered some of the driest brisket I've ever had, which jibed with other reviews that on here. I vowed to never come back here again, but the stars aligned and I found myself hungry and in the area. For some reason, this place called to me even though I really didn't like this place. You know....it wasn't bad. They clearly made some adjustments because the brisket was not remotely as bad as it was that last time. In fact, even though I forgot to order it with sauce on the side (this is the type of place that covers their meat in sauce), I really rather enjoyed it. Now, a pound of sliced brisket goes for $25.95 here, which is pretty damn steep. The amazing stuff at Briley's BBQ goes for $19.95/lb and on top of that, they serve ribs that are damn near competition quality. So still, I see no reason to go here, unless you really want BBQ and you don't want to make the 3-5 mile trek into Ballard or Lake City. However, as I get older, I find I make decisions like that all the time so in that regard, maybe this place isn't so bad for a once-in-a-while option.

Kat V.

Yelp
When I first walked in to this place I could smell the delicious BBQ, it made my mouth water. It smelled just like Texas BBQ we had just had in Texas two months ago. I was very excited to have Texas BBQ again. I had the Texas spud with pulled pork, I have since gone back and had the Texas spud with beef brisket (which I like more) and now my husband wants to go and try the food since I have been telling him how good it is. I would definitely recommend.

Felicity C.

Yelp
I tried the brisket. So dry and no bark ..Tasted like something ordered from the school cafeterias. Wanted to like it but so dissapointing

Arturo C.

Yelp
Delicious food, prompt service, I definitely recommend this eatery to those looking for quality bbq. Parking is scarce however you can get there if you want it, definitely worth a walk

April M.

Yelp
First impression is everything....the cashier was out side IN FRONT smoking a cigarette,we walked in and he comes around the corner....we ordered and ,it was just ok.....maybe because I was hungry but I will not be back!!

Carrie H.

Yelp
Perhaps you've heard of Katie "Yelp SeaTown M'lady" and her Texan beau Charlie "El Tiburon." These fine folks told me about this great place, so when I was on my way home last night from work with the hubsters, we picked up some BBQ. Katie and Charlie have never lead me wrong, so I say, why not! I got the "Lighter side" beef ribs, side of coleslaw and a cornbread muffin. The sauce was super good, and the ribs were down right tasty! Maybe next time I'll get the pork ribs cuz that sounded good, too. Hubby got a beef brisket sandwich. It looked good, too, but I totally out ordered him. He said next time he'll probably get ribs. To summarize: This place is a good value and serves really tasty food. Thanks be to Katie and Charlie for another great pick!
