Manning's is big, and was a great location to accommodate a post-concert celebration for our singing group. We had attentive servers pull together a bunch of tables to seat about 20 people, and as more came in, they were able to get more space for us. There's a decent amount of parking in the back, and the service was pretty efficient. ESPN, ESPN2, and whatever else on the TV screens (highlights for the week? All about Linsanity...) It was Friday 2-for-1's, which is always a good deal anywhere ($4.95 for two Honey Weiss). Their food menu is extensive and serves the typical restaurant bar food: fried appetizers, pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, ice cream (?) I got the walleye sandwich with a side of seasoned fries.
The fries were amazing; piping hot and salty as all hell. It was my kidney's worst nightmare, and my beer's best companion. The walleye, on the other end of the spectrum, was spectacularly bland. I guess I could have put the fries in the sandwich and eaten it that way. I mean, it was flaky and tasted good (and was as large as my head), but I did have to put salt on it. If they had put the same seasoning they put on the fries, it would have been bomb.com.
The beef nachos that my friend got were quite delicious as well, but nothing beats those fries.
