I had a truly wonderful experience at Manten Sushi. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome and at ease. The food was, without a doubt, exceptional, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I was seated at the counter, where the chef was not only highly skilled but also warm and attentive. He took the time to engage with each of us, which made the evening even more memorable. The overall atmosphere was intimate and relaxing, making for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

This is one of the most worthwhile sushi omakase experiences we’ve had! The price was around ¥9,500 (including tax) for about 20 courses. We were a group of four and booked about a month in advance via the official website. You can also inform them of any allergies or ingredients you don’t eat, and they’ll adjust your meal accordingly. We were seated at a table beside the sushi counter, so we could still watch the chef in action. The restaurant is quite small, but they serve in rounds, so it didn’t feel crowded at all. Every dish we had was delicious and high quality, much better than we expected at this price point. The course includes one drink without extra charge, which is a nice touch. The fish and fruit are seasonal. We visited in early May and got watermelon as dessert. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a high-quality yet reasonably priced omakase. There are several branches too, so it’s convenient. We’ll definitely come back again. Thank you for the amazing meal! 🥰

Made a reservation for this place as it was quite popular on social media and it did not disappoint! The number of items and their quality for the price you pay is amazing! We had about 25 "courses". The items range from sushi, to different soups and other small items. Everything was fish based or vegetable based. The fish seemed fresh and it was very tasty. We also got a place just in front of the chef, so got to watch everything as it was made. For drinks we had plum wine and sake, both very nice. We made the reservation a month in advance. They call you in once the table is ready. Everything was very nice organized. For our first omakase we think it was a great experience!

We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant! I found out about this place from Instagram, as a recomendation. You would need to book in advance, and the booking spots open 1 month before. The food and the service was as great as expected, and we realised why this place had the fame. The fish were cut to perfection, and food was delicious. I usually do not like fresh scallops and tuna because of the smell, but this place somehow removed the smell and I loved them also! Our chef Nori had great sense of humour and personality, and could communicate and serve in English. He also remembered my dietary requirements and took good care of us. The session lasted about 1.5 hours and we enjoyed our dinner very much. We would love to visit again in our next trip.

8000 yen entry-level Omakase lunch. it is 90 mins instead of the 2 hour conventional one. no expensive ingredients/fishes but ended with uni. Very high CP for an omakase experience. Easy to book online. Great for tourists as well.

Nothing too complicated with commercial foreigner appeal given its location, conversational English, and price point. As they say, sometimes you get what you pay for. This is definitely a novice omakase dinner. Several filler type courses (ie enoki mushroom nigiri and rolls). Fish quality is average to poor. The fatty tuna had an awful taste (discolored edges). The medium fatty tuna had black notches and was still used. Soy sauce lacked depth and tasted like grocery store brand (very salty). Felt I was on the verge of getting ill while dining and walked away thinking about a wasted meal in Japan. Regretful dining experience. On a positive note - the hospitality was still superior than the States. Japan definitely scores high with their customer service.

Google
Enjoyed a 2 hour course that delivered fresh products and fine drinks. While I do think that some of the pieces are not for everyone, they still deliver with great taste and quality. Staff was helpful and could explain what every piece was in Japanese as well as English. The place is cramped but it adds more to the atmosphere rather than being a downside. The chefs aren’t hidden away in the back and you can see your food being made infront of you. Truly an experience worth trying!

I came with a group of 8 people from the US. I did months of research on omakase because that was something I really wanted to try on my Japan trip. I discovered Mantensushi online from Youtube food vlogs and it was such a great value for how many courses you get. I also appreciated they made it work with my large group. They split us into 2 tables of 4. The Nihonbashi location has 2 booths and then bar seating. We spent about $55USD per person for the courses and ate until we were full. We tried some extremely new seafood to us, and of course the ootoro and chutoro were stand outs. I highly recommend getting reservations as this place fills up quickly. Best omakase ever!

Yelp
I made a reservation for Manten sushi nihonbashi online. By the time the day came, we were considering canceling our reservation because of the distance we were from the place. However, they charge the full cost if you cancel the same day, so we kept our reservation. When we arrived, a staff member checked our name on the sheet and escorted us to our private room, adjacent to the kitchen and away from the main dining area. The room consisted of one booth table and it was a cozy surprise! The course consisted of about 20 dishes of ancillary and nigiri dishes. Each one was made very well but if you aren't accustomed to the Japanese palate, it may be hard to consume for some. Although I thoroughly enjoyed the omakase experience, I was stuffed around dish 12! I particularly enjoyed the baby tuna and white shrimp but found some dishes too much for me. The seaweed was good but slimy and not a particularly fun texture. My fiancé and friend enjoyed all the dishes and my fiancé was especially elated to have the egg dish because he hadn't had it since he was a kid. I was also happy that strawberries were our dessert since they are so good in Japan and I was craving them. For a $55 omakase experience, it was worth it even though some dishes weren't to my taste. Expect to spend about 1.5- 2 hours here. We ended up strolling around the area because it was beautiful. There's a temple across the street and adjacent to the temple happened to be a small concert. ** Restrooms are outside of the store and in the main mall.

Yelp
Super good value for the price! My meal consisted of 26 (!!) courses, including a small clam soup appetizer and strawberries for dessert. The total came out to just over ¥8000 which is around $50. A warning that some of the dishes they serve are definitely more catered towards a Japanese palate--as someone who's only eaten omakase in America, I was not used to some of the things they served (including cod roe, sea bream roe, and burdock root). My favorite dish by far was the uni. It was the most uni I've ever seen in my life hahaha. That alone is worth the $50 imo

Yelp
Manten Sushi keeps our heads on straight without crushing the competition, leaving us with our hopes and dreams still intact. We came in with high expectations for this service at a whopping $50 USD/person (online reservation), which is quite expensive for Japan and left with shrugged shoulders. The ambiance was nice. The restaurant is on the smaller, quaint side. There are only a few tables for groups no more than 4. The bar fits about 10 guests, and multiple services are performed simultaneously but at different times. It takes a well-oiled machine and lots of communication between the front and the back to get the job done, and you'll get to see that in action while you're a guest there. As entertaining as it could be, service was still rather slow. In my experience, bad pacing can be just as negatively impactful as bad food itself. I think we were there for close to 3 hours. It's a long dinner service, so, ideally, bring a date that can keep you preoccupied with conversation. The food was... just ok for me. The flavors were all quite mild in my humble opinion. I found that they really like to add fermented "slime" similar to what you find on nattou (fermented soybeans) on EVERYTHING. Either it's on purpose or it's cross contamination, but I'm just not a huge fan of it--though I can see people being a fan of its textural element it can bring. Some hits, some misses. Some dishes I felt were just filler material. You'll definitely come out of this service full. They give you a lot of food. This is rare for preset omakase. Some advice: come on time, not any sooner (and of course, don't be late) otherwise expect to stand out in the rain to wait for the prior customers to leave before being able to sit. Love the ambiance and the service. Tea, water, alcohol were readily refilled. The pacing of the food was too slow for me, and the food to me was just ok for the price. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, and I'm glad we gave them a try. However, I don't find it to be a restaurant where I would return, hence a fair, 3-star rating.

Yelp
Super fresh Sushi, very good Omakase experience. Selection was good. Premium sushi. You need to reserve online ahead of time. It says 120 mins but it was actually 90 minutes.

Yelp
2 hour meal, but very active. You will never be waiting, and we were ushered out and did not dilly dally. 20 courses in total set menu. Best to go with a group in case you are not fond of any one dish, as you don't want to have to send any back. We had a private room so it was nice and peaceful. There is definitely enough food to be stuffed, but don't be scared by the 20 course label.

Yelp
I made a reservation for Manten for lunch, we arrived about 30mins early and they were able to accommodate and seat us right away. $60 for 20pc Omakase is a steal but I think the unique textures were too foreign for my palate. They served 12pieces of nigiri and 8 ancillary dishes. Most pieces of nigiri were great, fresh and flavorful, some were lackluster and just felt like a filler. For the ancillary dishes there was a lot of slimey and heavy textures which was really off-putting for me. 20 pieces ended up being way too much food and I was hurting by the end.

Yelp
Wow so tdlr totally worth your money for a decently long omakase that'll fill your belly with happiness and not an empty wallet. I made a reservation online and they send you several emails before to confirm. Arrived around 7pm and got seated at the counter. I was probably the only tourist so that was a good sign. Later there was another guy next to me that didn't speak Japanese either so it was nice to talk instead sitting quietly waiting for each piece. The chef spoke some English which was nice. He explained what each piece was. I took pics of like half of the stuff we got. I estimate there were probably 20 something things we got. Ranging from shrimp, octopus, bonito, tuna, salmon, mackerel, unagi to side dishes like wasabi leaves, pickled radish, chawanmushi, and hot green tea. Dessert was a piece of tamago and super sweet grapes. 5 stars!

Yelp
Hands down the best sushi i have ever had in my entire life. Our experience at Manten Sushi was a game changer. This place is wayyy better than Sushi Dai. All of the fish served were very fresh and excellent quality. You need to make a reservation otherwise you might not be able to get a seat. For 6500 yen we couldnt have asked for anything better.

Yelp
Hands down the best sushi I've ever had. Maybe because I'm comparing to USA standards? Anyway I would give 6 stars if I could. You must make a reservation for this place. I had the course meal for under $60. All the courses were brought to me personally by the sushi chef as I sat at the counter. Worth it!

Yelp
Can't believe their lunch course is only 3000 JPY considering the amazing quality. They served fatty tuna and steamed abalone when I visited and I was worried I misheard the price until I settled the bill. Pretty sure you won't be able to get this quality for 100 USD+.

Yelp
I came at 1:30pm and they refused to seat me even though they close at 3pm. Terrible service and it smelled awful. Only 2 people inside and 4 people working. What an awful restaurant. Go elsewhere.

Yelp
Went for lunch and they offered amazing food. However, they only have one course set available which cost 6000+ yen per pax. For the quality of food given, this is definitely worth it! Must try. :)
