Nice and intimate restaurant with a curated selection of food items. We came as a group of 6 adults and 2 kids and must say that the team were more than happy to cater for the little ones in our group which was really appreciated! Everything that we ordered was excellent! with the flatbread, prawns and cauliflower as the standouts, wines were also reasonable and well suited for all the dishes. Highly recommend checking them out if you are in the area but do make a booking as they are always pretty full.

Absolutely amazing… the service was very good and the food was absolutely amazing. I felt like a queen eating the food, it was very rich in flavour and the meat was tender and juicy. I cannot recommend this place enough, a beautiful atmosphere with the savoury scent from the kitchen and delicious food to match up. 10/10 ❤️

Visited from Singapore on the recommendation of a friend. Every dish was amazing but the bread, especially with the maple butter — absolutely legendary. We were 2 smallish Asian girls and got the bread, the cauliflower, 2 dips and 2 mains and by the end of it were so stuffed we had to give up and takeaway a bit of everything but ZERO regrets, I would do it all over again.

What a gem of a restaurant that ticks all the boxes and is reasonably priced. Extremely friendly service and food that is cooked perfectly that tastes great. Started with the flatbread and hummus, wow, the hummus was impressive. For main we shared the pressed lamb with some potatoes, been wood-fired the lamb had so much taste and cooked perfect plus worked well with the wood-fired potatoes. Highly recommended and we will be back when next visiting Fremantle.

Food was absolutely delicious and finger licking to the last bite . And finally they did lovely happy birthday dish for my son and we all sang very happily. Can’t wait to go back for more food and lovely atmosphere . Highly recommend

What a wonderful place! Such a beautiful intimate venue to go to. If you can, choose the chefs feed me menu as it’s such great value for what it is and you will go home with leftovers! Amazing service from the team and the bread is to die for. I came here many years ago and I’m so glad this place has stood the test of time and still has exceptional food and service. The flavours of the menu were well balanced and the light dessert finished it off beautifully.

Google
Great restaurant in fremantle. Make sure to place a reservation otherwise I think you may have trouble getting a seat. They recommend sharing the mains which I think was great as we got to try multiple dishes and they were all delicious

Great food, every dish we had was amazing, especially the prawn and flatbread with smoky butter. We have returned with friends and everyone loved the dishes. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Perth. Highly recommended!! 10/10.

Yelp
Enjoyed our dinner here after a day out to Rottnest Island. We started with their focaccia, and it was incredible - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a smoky depth that only woodfire can provide. The clams were another standout appetizer, packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. For mains, we had the tiger prawns and lamb ribs, both were fantastic. The addition of Asian-inspired flavors elevated the dishes, making them unique and satisfying. The lamb was tender and flavorful, while the prawns were fresh and beautifully seasoned. We finished with their panna cotta, and it was easily one of the best I've ever had. Creamy, perfect set and the perfect amount of sweetness - an ideal way to end our meal.

Yelp
It's my 2nd visit to Manuka Woodfire kitchen. The first time I've visited this restaurant, I just walked in and didn't make a reservation, and we were seated outside. The 2nd visit, I've decided to book and make sure that we are sitting inside away from the cold. When we got to the restaurant, the waitress was friendly and attentive. We ordered the bread with the eggplant babaganoush, the wood-roasted olives, it's nice and warm. We ordered the scallops, tiger prawns, and also slow-roasted lamb, smoke yoghurt, grapes. I would say that we ordered a bit too much between 4 of us. It was a massive feast for us, but we finished all the food. The only item that we didn't order from the menu is the desserts. This restaurant is suitable for casual eats, good quality food and fresh as well.

Yelp
Full of warmth and packed with flavour, Manuka Woodfire Kitchen in the heart of Fremantle serves delicious local produce straight out of their wood fired oven. A newcomer at this year's Taste of Perth Festival, Manuka took out the top spot winning Best of Taste, with their delicious wood roasted chicken. I've now visited Manuka a couple of times, and would bring anyone here as they serve a crowd-pleasing menu for everyone, whether fussy or picky. Their friendly team were extremely accommodating to my friend who is gluten intolerant and doesn't eat garlic. We ordered two serves of the Wood Roasted Chicken ($21), one done with the exclusion of garlic. They came out in a generous serve, with pickled red cabbage and an addictive miso sauce. A standout dish, and must order every time! Manuka's pizzas are also cooked too perfection, the base is not too thick or thin and there are a variety of flavoursome toppings to choose from. During lunchtime we chose two pizzas, one with sweet corn, baked eggplant, peppers and fior di latte ($19) and another with roasted potato, onion, goats chevre and basil pesto ($19). Their menu changes often based on the seasonal ingredients they can get their hands on, so expect something different on offer each time! Good job to the team at Manuka for their amazing work so far and also at Taste, keep up the good work! I can't wait to return for more of your menu very soon.

Yelp
I have always wanted to visit Manuka Woodfired Kitchen after several recommendations from fellow foodies. After trying out some of Manuka's dishes offered at the recent Taste of Perth festival, I was determined to give Manuka a try. As the name of the restaurant implies, the food at Manuka is cooked by a woodfire oven to create simple and honest food. On a very windy and wintry Saturday afternoon, we decided to head to Manuka for lunch. We started off with some flat bread with cooladerra farm olive oil to share. Freshly baked to order, the flat bread was fluffy and flavourful with hints of spices complementing well with the light textures of the olive oil. Next up was the official winning dish of the Taste of Perth 2016 which was the wood roasted chicken pieces with miso sauce and red cabbage. This dish was a big hit at the recent Taste of Perth festival and I always recalled how juicy the chicken was. During my visit at Manuka, the chicken was consistent to what I had at the Taste of Perth. It was moist, tender and so juicy. A definite tick in all the boxes and a must order! Woodfired pizzas are my favourite and you can't leave Manuka without trying their woodfired pizzas. We had the honey glazed ham, tomato, roasted onion and baby basil pizza. My dad's verdict? Best pizza he's ever had in Perth. The base was perfectly fluffy. Neither thick nor thin. Taste? As good as it looks. We decided to add on another dish to share which was the roasted pork belly, pomegranate pomelo and radish. The pork belly was delicious with a thin crispy crackling on the top followed by a thin layer of fat. The pomegranate, pomelo and radish added a subtle sweet and fresh flavour which balanced well with the texture of the pork belly. For desserts, we shared a vanilla pannacotta, passionfruit curd and chocolate brownie. I loved how texturally well balanced this dessert is. The vanilla pannacotta had the perfect consistency and was silky smooth. If you love brownies, you will definitely love the chocolate brownie. It's crisp in texture with a strong chocolate-y flavour. Last but not least, was the roasted quince and apples, hazelnut crumble and vanilla bean custard. A heartwarming dessert perfect for the cold, stormy weather. The menu at Manuka changes based on seasonal ingredients and their supply from local WA growers and farmers. With a warm space along with friendly service and great food, Manuka is definitely one place that I would love to be back again.

Yelp
This was amazing and this place is well worth all the hype it is receiving. These guys use locally sourced produce, both the food and the wine! Their menu isn't huge, but what is on the menu is fantastic. The chicken with the pickled cabbage is delicious and won the best dish at this year's Taste of Perth festival. We also had pizza and a lamb dish that were amazing. True wood fired pizza is a delight. Desserts even get a wood fired touch and the brownie with panna cotta was perfect. I cannot praise this place highly enough.

Yelp
Most lovely about this restaurant is the atmosphere in the winter: it feels very cozy, warm and comfortable when you're sitting inside. All the food is cooked in the coal oven, which I liked as a concept, but I can't say I really felt those flavors in all the dishes. Highlight of the dishes was the scallops and the fresh flatbread, delicious. The lamb, beets, and potatoes were good. I didn't get to try the pizzas. The wine list is short and reasonably priced but could use a few more interesting options. Another highlight was the service, just the right amount of presence and friendliness.

Yelp
Sitting outside under a heater on a cold night, the food was excellent - proof that simple food done well it's all you need to match good company.. although the innovative local wine list helped! A particular mention goes to the Greek dessert pastry, the chicken and the "flat" bread. Certainly worth booking, (we were lucky to get a table midweek), I'm sure we'll be back.

Yelp
This is my favourite local go to. Friday night pizza? They have it covered. The menu often has some new surprises. I'm going for the Freo sardines and seafood pizza tonight. Plenty of non pizza options tho. Manuka are passionate about WA produce and suppliers and have been known to go as far as to put fresh tomatoes and baby capsicums straight from the producer to your table in a truly palate cleansing complimentary gesture. Staff are knowledgable and considerate of food intolerances. ( GF, vegan, FODMAP friendly) Oh and did I mention great wine list?

Yelp
Pretty cool little place. The staff were very friendly and offered suggestions. The food was nice but I wouldn't say great. We went on a Saturday night and had to wait a fair while to get our meals, this was due to a large table outside. The staff noticed this and gave a complimentary pizza that was very nice of them. The warm olives were very good and the Pizzas were not the best I have ever had but were still nice. A review we read in the paper suggested we try the wood roasted mussels.. These were tasty but not really what I expected. They were pretty much cold mussels served in vinegar. The roasted chicken pieces were not that fantastic. The wine selection was reasonable and the prices about average for Perth. All in all it certainly wasn't the worst meal I have had but I think some fine tuning is still required. It's worth a visit to make your own mind up about it.

Yelp
I came here on a Stranger Danger dinner (look that up!). I hadn't heard of Manuka before that but was keen to check it out. I could smell the kitchen walking down high street, a good sign! Service was fantastic and we well looked after. With each dish we got a short run down of where our meal had come from, with heavy local influence. All the dishes were great! The stand outs were the delicious fresh wood fired bread, chorizo and crunchy crackling of the roast pork. Not sure why other reviews dissed the pizzas? Ours were very fresh, lovely soft dough, gooey cheese and plenty of toppings. The food here is not over-stated, but it is honest and good.

Yelp
This is one of those tough ones. On one hand the food was simply outstanding, on the other, the service crumbled slowly following one disaster after another. We were in a group of 7, seated outside. We were warned upon making the reservation that the table had to be free after 90 mins - no problemo there, we all had a concert to go to across the street. All of our dishes were divine, from the Wood Fired Shoulder of lamb that was falling of the bone to the perfectly cooked Wood Fired Chicken Breast, these guys certainly know their slow cooking in a Wood Fired oven. The salads, something I usually order as a mere filler due to them being a too oft' run of the mill token option on the menu were some of the best I've tasted anywhere. No where has ever tempted me to have a vego only meal, but Manuka has some of the most inspired salads around, from the heirloom tomato with bocconcini to the roasted beetroot and crisp kale they were bursting with flavour and freshness. The Chorizo Pizza was inspired eating and the addition of corn was simply brilliant. Only one dish out of a whole swathe let the food down, the Blue Manner Crab and Whitebait Pizza was just too salty, and the wonderful flavor of the Crab was completely lost. It was the only dish left on the table with food on it. The service was great at the start, and I must say that they were all friendly and very knowledgeable about the origin of the ingredients. The staff are obviously passionate about the local WA produce and rightly so. However this was all marred by my meal - The Lamb Shoulder coming out half an hour after 6 other mains were served, I got to eat mine 'solo' while the rest of the table had finished theirs. Missing out on that first bite and sharing it with friends - the experience, the sensations, the flavour is THE reason I like eating out in groups, even if it doesn't happen often enough. To rub salt into the wound, five minutes into my meal, the staff came and reminded us that we had to move on in 15 minutes. At this point they decided they should start clearing the amassed used glassware on the table that been neglected up to now. I ended up having the rest of my Lamb bundled up to take away, and as the staff got busier resetting the table around us, I went in to sort the bill with others only to return to discover that my Half a glass of Pinot had been taken. I quizzed the staff, and they were very apologetic, and returned with what can only be described as a paltry amount. Barely a tasting. As you do, we milled around in the street, chatting and catching up before some of us went separate ways. Half and hour after the other reservation was due, our table that they were so desperate to get us off still sat empty. Would I return? Possibly, I would dearly love to take my partner here to share the great taste of the Wood Fired proteins, and the inspired salads - so fresh! However It would be deeply embarrassing if the service was a repeat of this night. It does appear from the reviews that this is perhaps a one-off. The biggest let down overall was actually not the way the service went, but how the staff dealt with it in such a matter of fact way, and without any sign of real effort to improve the situation or even acknowledge the scope of the problem.

Yelp
We have been here twice now, love it! Awesome food, good value, and great service! Some of the best service I have had in ages. Think it's going to be our new local.. We will be back. Pizza and wood fired corn are fantastic!

Yelp
So the new kid on the block. The ambience and decor wasn't too bad. We had super friendly service but they did forget a few things for our table and perhaps we can cut them some slack if they're sorting out their service system... Food-wise we had pretty tasty wood roasted mussels with rice vinegar, radish and fennel which was fresh on the palette. Our woodfire pizza was again, tasty, but not exceptional. All round it's a cool place to come with a group and enjoy wine and treats. I'll defo be back and perhaps an updated review will yield a higher rating :)

Yelp
Terrible... Oh i am so so sorry to the lovely staff but our meal was horrible. I was really looking forward to a big meal..rainy wet night the menu looked comforting and inviting. But it wasnt. The warm potato salad was potato and rocket literally thats it. The lamb was gross really fatty with mint and licorice onion and basil? And greasy? The flat bread was parmesan and bread there was nothing to wet it with so really dry. So sorry really wanted it to be fab maybe it was an off night but i wont be giving it another chance

Richard E.

Yelp
Had one of the nicest pizzas for a long time there, all ingredients locally sourced and freshly prepared and all explained by the staff. On the downside service was slow as it was very busy. I would return and recommend giving it a try.
