Seafood restaurant with mermaid bar, oyster happy hour, and ornate decor
"Like that one friend who came as Groot to the Halloween party—complete with real moss attached to their costume—Manzi’s completely commits. The Soho seafood spot has a bar propped up by human-sized mermaids, and salt and pepper shakers shaped like crabs. But more importantly, blue booths curved like waves with a rippling and ripped Poseidon bursting out of the wall. Sounds dramatic? Wait until you see the monkfish wellington for two." - sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley
"Air conditioning is good, air conditioning in an ocean-themed seafood restaurant that looks like somewhere Poseidon would come to cut loose? You’ve hit the jackpot. At Manzi’s in Soho, booths are curved like waves, weighty salt and pepper shakers are shaped like crabs, and human-sized mermaids prop up the bar. It’s all very glam and the food—monkfish wellington, buttery scallops, lobster rolls—is suitably tasty and fancy." - jake missing, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak
"Manzi’s is somewhere that Poseidon would come to cut loose. At the seafood spot in Soho, human-sized mermaids prop up the bar, waiters in bow ties stop to gossip with their favourite tables, and well-dressed couples swirl glasses beneath ornate ceiling murals. Get a seat upstairs by the bar where the glamorous under-the-sea setting (and your outfit) can really shine. This isn’t the best seafood in London, but it’s tasty and theatrical—looking at you, monkfish wellington for two." - heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak
"Named in celebration of a former London seafood institution, Corbin & King’s big new Soho seafood celebration is down to open this year. They say it will follow the hugely successful formula of one of their other spots, Brasserie Zédel in being both “fun and affordable”. Until then try: J Sheekey, The Delaunay" - team infatuation
"Manzi’s is somewhere that Poseidon would come to cut loose. At the seafood spot in Soho, human-sized mermaids prop up the bar, booths curve like waves, and weighty salt and pepper shakers are shaped like crabs. Waiters in bow ties stop to linger and gossip with their favourite tables and well-dressed couples swirl glasses beneath ornate ceiling murals worthy of the Sistine Chapel—or, at least a very fancy church. It’s decadent, fun, and over the top, plus the food is tasty and just as theatrical. A monkfish wellington for two comes with sauce américaine—sweet with brandy and tomatoes—delivered in a little silver jug. Buttery, soft scallops come in pristine white shells and tiramisu with ruler-straight edges is served with a jug of warm cream. Get a seat upstairs by the bar where the glamorous under-the-sea vibes really shine. Downstairs is sleek, but without velvet booths to spread out in, it’s much less entertaining. This isn’t the best seafood in London, but that’s OK because you should come here for a blowout, to take lots of pictures, and be politely asked to leave at 11pm because they want to close. photo credit: Tim Winter photo credit: Tim Winter photo credit: David Cleveland Pause Unmute" - Sinéad Cranna
