The Best Shopping in Paris: 21 Places Not to Miss | Condé Nast Traveler

"Flea market lore holds that Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen is the largest antiques and second-hand marketplace in the world. Even if it weren't, the sheer surface area (seven hectares) and number of vendors (around 1,700) suggests it should have its own ZIP code. And it certainly helps explain the 5 million visitors who descend each year in search of rare treasures, everything from home goods to textiles—although bargains are harder and harder to come by." - Lindsey Tramuta

Ines de la Fressange and Marin Montagut on How to Achieve 'Parisian Chic'

"According to Fressange, the trick to unearthing a treasure at the Marché aux Puces is to go in without looking for anything in particular at all. Instead, be open to how a statue, a desk, or a mirror you stumble upon can instantly transform a room and give it life. 'On one visit, I found a beautiful trumeau mirror and as soon as I brought it home, it turned a familiar room into a space with personality,' she says. 'Same thing with a long and narrow table that I picked up there ten years ago that I painted white: all of a sudden I felt like I had something entirely new but with the same perfect proportions.'"

Amazing place! This is the mother of all flea markets! We took the bus #85, Paul Bert bus stop, which drops you off in the middle of the action. We walked around for a couple of hours on a Saturday. There are also many cute cafes around if you need to relax and get a bite. I would definitely come back.

If you have little time in Paris and visiting the flea market is not vital for you, do not come here. It is quite far outside the city and you have to take a bus (there is no metro). The prices are expensive and the products are of poor quality, definitely not worth the price. I think it is a waste of time.

This location provides a welcoming environment for expressing one's thoughts and feelings. It is a space where individuals can feel comfortable sharing their emotions without judgment. You may find it to be a place of solace and understanding. It is designed to be a supportive setting for those seeking to release pent-up emotions. Ultimately, it offers a pleasant atmosphere for open and honest expression.

If you love vintage, walk for blocks in this flea market and several others nearby. Your senses will be engaged from start to finish. Find the murals throughout.

Undoubtedly the largest flea market in Paris, offering thousands of diverse items, from antique keys and door handles to exclusive furniture and interior decor. There’s also a plethora of Chinese counterfeit apparel, watches, and shoes. It’s possible to spend an entire day exploring and discovering unique finds. I suggest visiting if you want to bring a touch of Parisian uniqueness to your home.

So much to see in this area! So many cool finds. There is a small outdoor mall looking area with a few shops but keep exploring and you will find rows and rows of shops on the other side of the road. Public bathrooms and cafes nearby.

If you like antiques from all periods and feel like you are travelling back in time, and meeting interesting people. A big must when visiting the French capital. Do not be impressed by the dirt on the floor once you get out of the metro station. Further up into the marché you are going to be impressed by what you see.
