Was my favorite spot in the city! Now it looks like they're closing down. This is a major loss for the neighborhood, they have the best bagels in the city!

Best baguette in town! And I'm French !!

Yelp
Levee Baking is amazing! The pace is larger than I expected--it has plenty of seats indoors and a few chairs and tables outdoors. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place was not crowded when I arrived around 11 am on a weekend. I ordered as soon as I walked in the door. I had Breakfast Sammy on a croissant with baked egg and cheddar and got a piece of my friend's London fog glazed twist. Both were delicious. Overall, it was a good experience at Levee. However, they have limited items each day. I wanted to order a brownie, but it was sold out already. I will come by and try more items on their menu!

Yelp
I'm so glad I don't live closer because I would be here every day and eat my weight in their pastries. Amazing bakery with so many delicious looking and sounding pastries. You can watch them make their next day's items while you hang out there! Everything was excellent and even their coffee was good! Employees were super friendly and nice. This is also a great place to work for a couple of hours enjoying the buzz of the guests and tasty treats. Do yourself a favor and make it a point to go here when visiting NOLA! Sausage roll: 11/10 love the seasoning on top of the pastry, great crispy outside, and good ratio/amount of sausage in the roll (they sell out fast!) Savory scone: 10/10 really large!! Really tasty! I think it was some sort of mix of squash, onion, cheese, etc. excellent texture Chocolate tahini babka knot London Fog glazed twist: 10/10 yes and yes, I would like more of these! Such good and subtle flavors and not too much glaze. Yummmmmm! Potato, feta, dill croissant: 9/10 good flavor! Wish there was more potato on/it stayed on better, but the pastry was perfectly flaky Chocolate tahini babka knot: 9/10 more tahini flavor, please! But this was a great texture Boudin bun: 9/10 saw them making this the day before and came back for it! Really tasty savory filling in a perfectly baked brioche. Just with there was more filling!

Yelp
Levee Baking Co. is a gem for artisanal baked goods that can be found just off of Magazine Street. Their offerings range from buttery croissants and classic baguettes to creative items like the mushroom tart and grilled onion focaccia. Everything is handmade, flaky, and packed with flavor. While the location is slightly hidden, it's well worth seeking out for the quality of the baked goods. Arriving early is key if you're hoping to snag popular items like their egg sandwiches, which often sell out quickly. The line was already long when I arrived early on a Saturday morning. On my visit, I had the Prosciutto N Swiss Twist sandwich on a fresh baguette, which was absolutely delicious. Whether you're grabbing a pastry or something more savory, this is a standout spot for bread and pastry lovers in New Orleans.

Yelp
The Levee Baking Company, on Magazine Street. Well, a year has passed, and the offerings at the Levee Bakery are as delicious and as sweet / savory as I remembered. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and need to be, because the huge variety of baked goodies are wonderfully overwhelming. I settled on a Mustard, Cheddar and Onion Croissant ($5) and a Morning Bun with Cream Cheese ($5.50). The dining room, adjacent to the kitchen, is cozy and very busy. You can expect me to return tomorrow. Five Stars.

Yelp
I got a variety of pastries and a piece of cake. They were all impeccable- creative balanced flavor, construction, texture. They didn't have decaf, and they only had drip coffee, which i'd be fine with except that it was quite bitter. I would definitely go back for the pastries.

Yelp
So yummy! Wish I went earlier because they sold out of the pastry I wanted! There's a line usually and seating options inside and out.everything was yummy!

Yelp
My absolute favorite bakery! I literally wish they had longer hours so I could visit more frequently. All the staff is super warm and welcoming. I would recommend getting there early to catch their day old $1 pastries and $4 baguettes. My favorite cake so far is the carrot cake, it's moist but still has a thick consistency and the icing is to die for! All of the cookies and clusters I've also tried have been excellent.

Yelp
Went for late breakfast. They were out of breakfast sandwiches by that point -- no problem... I don't expect unlimited quantities at a small bakery. Instead we chose a coffee swirl Danish, a sausage roll, a buttermilk biscuit, an apple handpie, and coffee. Staff were friendly and very helpful... truly nice folks. Food was a very mixed bag. Coffee swirl was... okay. A solid 5 or 6 out of 10. Handpie was tasty and flaky. No notes. Biscuit was served at room temp, no butter or jam, and was heavy, crumbly and dry... basically a very dull scone that pretended to be a biscuit. 90% of it went in the trash bin. Sausage roll was generous. Too generous by half, honestly. So overstuffed with filling that hadn't been de-fatted before baking that once you got beyond the top layer of flake, the rest of even the top of the pastry was soggy and soaked in grease. The bottom: inedibly greasy. Half of that went in the trash, too. Coffee: let's just say "don't." Either a really unpleasant blend of beans, or --more likely-- overheated and made quite bitter. Maybe we just made unfortunate choices, given the generally positive reviews, but we weren't impressed.

Yelp
The bakery has a wide array of items for those with a savory and sweet tooth. There are pastries (cruffins, danish, etc.), cake slices, and breads. You can find the usual crowd pleasers and some unique items. It's good to come early on weekends, before the most popular items sell out. The pastries are the all-stars. My favorite is the sausage roll - the filling wrapped in buttery, flaky pastry.

Yelp
Absolutely my favorite bakery/breakfast stop- The breads and pastries are an art form here- Look at the pics of the blueberry cruffin! (Like a croissant, spiraled into a muffin and stuffed with cream) The focaccia is perfect also You can't go wrong here, truly everything will be spectacular
google avatar

Ariel B.

Yelp
Super tasty and cute bakery! Very happy to have had a chance to try this place while in town. Came in just before they sold out, so I couldn't try many things, but just says how popular this place is. Quick and friendly service, with indoor and outdoor seating. I got to try the babka roll and it was pretty good! flavorful, excellent texture, but a little dry. unsure if that's because I came at the end of the day, but it was still delicious. A great spot to check pastries out, but they do sell out!

Yelp
One of the best bakeries I went to during my visit to New Orleans. Although the croissants and viennoiserie aren't as good as what I've had in major metro areas, the breads and savory items were probably my favorite.
google avatar

Youngone K.

Yelp
Phenomenal phenomenal establishment- I wish they were open for longer/more days but they truly deliver on divine, scrumptious pastries. I honestly just want to gatekeep them since they have such tasty treats at incredibly reasonable prices. They're probably one of my favorite small batch bakeries that I've ever come across with great value and ambiance, and I make an effort to explore those at all urban cities I visit. It's always such a delight to come across a kouign amann and theirs is certainly a respectable one. Great flakiness on their pastries and a nice place to work from on a chiller weekday. On weekends they're quite busy so get there early for decent selection or hope that the weather looks rainy/dismal for a selection to be left by the time you get there! Truly always a treat that I simply cannot pass up

Yelp
Walking into this bakery made me happy. The smell, ambiance, kind service, and delicious pastries were all a wonderful Saturday morning experience! I came here last Sunday at opening but they were already super packed. It was raining this morning so I gambled that they wouldn't be packed and won. It definitely filled up quick though. I got the kouign amann, which is one of my favorites, was perfectly soft on the inside and crunchy crystallized sugar on the outside. I got the coffee twist which was actually my favorite because it was dense and had a sweet coffee icing. The cruffin with strawberry cream cheese was also a delicious combination of soft flaky croissant, cinnamon sugar encrusted, and whipped not overly sweet cream filling. The drip coffee was also very good but you have to drink slow or else you'll run out. I enjoyed the whole experience and will be back for the olive focaccia! All made in house!!

Yelp
The BEST breads ever! Everything from here is absolutely delicious Everything From the cakes to the cinnamon rolls to the breakfast biscuits This is a must if in the area

Yelp
Does anything smell better than a bakery? I don't think so. This is a lovely space that is welcoming and warm (figuratively not literally). There is some seating to enjoy your beverage and bun while dining in. They have a wide assortment of items but on my last visit I needed baguettes for a party that night (and they were still warm when I brought them home). And, of course, I indulged in a couple of pastries. OMG the strawberry cruffin? GENIUS. Parking is on the street. Friendly staff; good prices and delicious baked goods.

Steven W.

Yelp
World's best bakery. Breakfast sandwiches, sausage rolls, literally any pastry, and quality coffee. A dream
google avatar

Kristin E.

Yelp
The staff here was lovely, along with a decent selection. I got to try the chocolate chip cookie, cinnamon roll, and the chocolate cake. Strongly suggest dropping in if you get the chance!!

Yelp
I absolutely adore this spot. it's in our neighborhood so we love walking here. they have guava pastries that are great and their breakfast sandwich is superb!
google avatar

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about Levee! The baked goods are incredible. My go to is their cruffins--flavors vary with the season. The menu is constantly changing so check out their Instagram to see what they have that day! Tip--the best items run out quickly so get there early.
google avatar

Katie H.

Yelp
so yummy, affordable, and such a wide variety of tastes and flavors. Everything seemed very fresh, and the baguette was perfect.
google avatar

Robin L.

Yelp
Went in to try some of the seasonal options. It's time for peach flavored everything! The service was phenomenal today really great people working and they moved like a true team. We ordered morning buns, peach danishes and biscuits. Biting into that peach morning bun was like eating a slice of heaven. I mean the pastry was baked to perfection, the cream filling was like biting into a mixture of peaches and cream. It was baked and made so very well. The danish was equally amazing and delicious. The biscuits were flaky and buttery probably one of the best biscuits I've ever eaten. I'm so glad I came back because the flavors and service were all hands down phenomenal. I wish they were open 7 days a week.

Yelp
I saw Levee bakery co. on a blog and I stalked their IG and Facebook paged. Trying to figure out a day to come here. Finally had an off day and stopped by. Love Love! Workers were so friendly and the place is bright and welcoming. The pastries look amazing!!! I wanted one of everything but I held back. I got the almond chocolate croissant and saved that to bring home for my girls. The coppa croissant I'm saving for lunch. I mainly came for the shishito pepper croissant because ya know, I LOVE anything that has peppers. Shishito peppers are not spicy but it gives that light pepper taste, combining it with the cream cheese and flaky croissant, absolutely yumm. Wash it down with strong drip coffee, my morning is happy. Amazing bakery for sure.

Yelp
A chill relaxing little coffee shop, that has some of the best pastry's in the Big Easy. I like how all the baked goods are settle. Nothing is too salty or sweet. Everything is baked to perfection. The service is chill and relaxing as can be. Love all the recommendations. Keep up the good work y'all.

Nik M.

Yelp
Such a cute bakery with a variety of pastries, bread and breakfast items. The cashier was super friendly. I got a couple different pastries all of which were good. The fig tart was probably my favorite! I believe their pastries change so I'd check on Instagram if there's something in particular you're looking for/to see what they have. There is a good amount of seating inside, they give you your desserts in box and there are plates/silverware you can grab if you want to eat there.
google avatar

Deleanor K.

Yelp
This is my FAVORITE queen cake! What I enjoyed about each bite is the buttery flakey experience until the last crumb. This was a mini pecan, blood marmalade & chocolate chip queen cake this is the perfect size for one person. If two people share the mini you will be disappointed because you will want more because it just won't be enough. This has been added to my king/queen cake rotation for sure.

Yelp
10/5 stars, best bakery in NOLA if not the southern half of the US. This is a beautiful, welcoming space that you want to work from or sit and enjoy your goodies at all day long. The staff is friendly (not to mention extremely talented) and the coffee and pastries are to die for. The knowledge, experience, and technical precision required to produce such incredibly flavorful and delicate baked goods is mindblowing. Just looking at the lamination on the puff pastries brings a tear to the eye, and somehow, they taste even better than they look. Not a detail is missed here, and your only struggle will be deciding which ones to try. I can't wait to come back, and I hope that Levee has found its home here in NOLA for a long time to come.

J M.

Yelp
Reallly good berry cruffin. Also the cream cheese tart was to die for and very quick service.
google avatar

Camly T.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my visit here and will be coming back! There is a lot of natural light and lovely plants. There is enough seating and tables around to sit and do work. The bakery options are spectacular! I liked everything I got and it is so fresh, you can literally see it. This is a very pleasant place to visit.

Yelp
Compared to other local bakeries, it's a small selection, but what they had was really nice and the space in which to eat is a cavernous brick room that feels like history. They also have vegan options. The sandwich I sampled was not that, having goat cheese along with sweet potato and kale. I am not one of those people who adopted kale as a fad, but when it's cooked right it can be good, and in this case the texture of it was perfect, and the flavors balanced nicely, and the foccacia in which it was encased was fantastic. A vegan chocolate cookie based on olive oil was likewise entirely satisfying. Pretty much anything they had on display I would have ordered happily I think.

Yelp
Wow. That is my immediate take away. I just devoured the best savory scone I have ever tasted. It was so incredible that after I finished it I wanted to call them to tell them. I stopped in for my first time this morning after reading about Levee and living close by. Service, staff, and atmosphere were fantastic but that scone .... Just Wow.

David V.

Yelp
Excellent pastries! Favorite dish was the focaccia bread with a thick layer of creamy cheese. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
Always really yummy pastries. They have sweet stuff as well as savory, freshly baked every day. Lots of seasonal items too, with fresh seasonal fruit and such. They have a limited drink selection too, including cold brew from Hey Coffee. Only open Thursday- Sunday!
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
Love the focaccia bread, quiche, and the chocolate pecan chewy cookie. (Took a bite of the cookie and literally said "wow" out loud!) I pre-ordered and pre-paid the night before, so I was able to meet them at their back entrance on Harmony rather than waiting in line, but on a beautiful day, I wouldn't have minded the line, either!
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
The photos do not do justice to how absolutely incredible this shishito pepper croissant from Levee Baking Co. Looked so good I had to take a pic before I got home and devoured it. Savory pastries have opened my eyes to whole new world of breaksfast options I can't wait to try everything else here!
google avatar

Yelp
I came back here because my pastry chef friend who moved away from Nola wanted a Queens cake from Levee.Of all the MG cakes in the city, my pastry chef friend chose that, so that should tell you something right there. I believe they always sell out. The website goes live at 2:00pm the day before to place online pickup orders, so I set my alarm for 1:57 (they are currently operating Thursday-Sunday). I successfully placed my order on Wednesday and arrived Thursday to pick it up. There are SO MANY tempting goodies for purchase, I wanted to buy them all! I limited myself to a glorious chocolate chip cookie and 2 everything pretzels. The cookie was so delicious and actually had enough chocolate. So many bakeries make chocolate chip cookies with hardly any chocolate in them!! The everything pretzel- oh my God. I warmed it a little and ate it with a huge schmear of cream cheese and it was incredible. Highly recommended, but be sure to pre-order if you can (although there was plenty available when I arrived around 11:30). They also sell an adorable mini Queen cake for $10.
google avatar

Jenny L.

Yelp
Such a cute place that has limited hours and sell out of their pastries on a first come first serve basis! We were able to get in right before they closed for some butter croissants, chocolate cake and Kouign Amann AKA Butter Cake, similar to a croissant but caramelizes as it bakes, with fresh whole wheat.....super fresh and worth the wait! If I had a dinner planned I would had surely picked up a baguette too! They looked amazing!!! Socially distanced too.
google avatar

Weslie I.

Yelp
This place has excellent breads and pastries. You have to go early though because most of it gets sold out quickly !! Missed out on their chocolate pistachio babka bc we showed up at 11am *tear* The orange poppyseed scone 10/10. Not as crumbly as a traditional scone which was odd, but honestly it was so yummy who cares. Got some danish, and it was fabulous. Flaky crust and a delicious filling. Great prices for such high quality pastries. Great service.

Hannah B.

Yelp
This was the best bakery breakfast I've ever had in the city. So fresh and flaky. Literally anything you get is good.
google avatar

Matt H.

Yelp
AMAZING!!! What a wonderful bakery! The morning bun with strawberries was out of this world. J had prosciutto and guryer garlic croissant that she had toasted. Queen cake was different (French) along with the chocolate cake both were extremely good. Definitely going back!
google avatar

Noah I.

Yelp
This past Sunday, I waited outside @leveebakingco at 8:26 am for the doors to open. With Reese along for the ride in her stroller, we were 3rd in line when it finally opened, and this little sausage roll from @leveebakingco was WELL WORTH the early morning bakery mission. The sausage at the center of this pastry is from @pieceofmeatbutcher, and it is definitely one of those perfect savory snacks that will be calling me back. Not sure if this is always on the menu, but I sure hope it is -- for yours and for my sake. The 2nd pastry is what they called a "crusted croissant" (I think)-- and it was also delicious, with some sweetness of a morning bun and usually flakiness if a croissant. Christina, the owner and head pastry chef, is an absolute magician with baked goods, and I will be visiting this place dang near every day when summer starts. :

Florence N.

Yelp
We decided to celebrate Christmas this year by eating lots of sweet and savory treats from Levee. Honestly, their stuff is supernaturally good. We just ate the best apple galette of our lives, for example. (I don't even usually like apple desserts). And I challenge you to find better focaccia! We can taste the care and passion in everything. Just incredible. Thank you!
google avatar

Kassandra C E.

Yelp
This has been my bakery for years. They're so kind and understanding. During Covid this was definitely a bright spot for me. I go weekly and I have never been disappointed. Their chocolate cake is right out of a "Matilda", they're croissants come right out of "Little Weirds" the savory delicacies would make the cut for "The Comfort Food Diaries: My Quest for the Perfect Dish to Mend a Broken Heart" fill your soul!
google avatar

Scott N.

Yelp
This is a small, artisanal bakery just off Magazine Street. In addition to breads and baguettes, they also have pies, croissants, and biscuits. I would highly recommend grabbing a cinnamon roll, made with fluffy layers of crispy dough and covered in cinnamon and sugar. They also carry local kombuchas and jams. The coffee here is amazing, and they use locally roasted beans (they were brewing Hey! when I was there). This is also a great spot to study or get some work done, as there are plently of tables and the building has a quiet and peaceful ambience. Street parking is easy to find, even on the weekends. The staff here are so incredibly nice and can recommend the best baked goods for whatever you're feeling. They even gave me a free coffee refill on my way out; I really can't say enough about the positive vibes of this place. I would highly recommend stopping by if you havn't already!
google avatar

Charles H.

Yelp
SERVICEABLE See my pic. The coffee isn't remarkable. It's a lot like PJ's which for me, is not as good as what I brew at home from Fresh Market. The pastries are rather limited. I was hoping to get a savory with meat, like the delicious kolaches at District down the street, but they only had veggie versions. The croissant I did get was over cooked - see my pic. So yeah, Meh. Vintage's fresh beignet's are across the street. I won't be back.

Elena Y.

Yelp
Delicious pastries! Easily the best pastries in New Orleans. Super cute vibes and kind service. Limited seating but what they do have is good. The kouigan aman is delicious and so is the morning bun with some sort of frosting.
google avatar

Brandon W.

Yelp
Easily in the top three bakeries I've been to in the country. Seriously that good! Both savory and sweet pastries were perfection. We split six things and each was pure heaven. Soooooo glad to finally have a bakery like this in New Orleans!
google avatar

Yelp
We adore Levee! When we moved into the neighborhood, we crossed our fingers and toes that Levee would be tasty since they are in walking distance, and they have NOT disappointed. Their staples like breads and biscuits are solid week after week, and their pastry treats are delicious and frankly impressive! The staff are lovely, they've been very good about protecting customers and themselves from Covid, and they're all around a lovely neighborhood establishment. Do jot
