LA Times Critic Uncovers a New Strip Mall Sushi Star in the Valley - Eater LA
"Maquina Taco is a modern taqueria on a freshly gentrified strip of Lake Avenue in Pasadena. The focus is on its colorful owner and the wide array of options, with food described as worthy of attention." - Farley Elliott
Hollywood Reporter Offers High Praise for Cooking at Alta West Adams - Eater LA
"LA Times takes a look at the new-ish Maquina in Pasadena. The upstart taco option does well over a dozen varieties, from a duck and egg breakfast burrito to lots of other fun takes." - Farley Elliott
Fabulous burrito and tacos! 🌯🌮 Went to this place because friends of mine suggested, and they were right!
You feel the mass and density when you first hold a burrito. There’s generous amount of asada inside, in addition to rice, guacamole, and cheese. Each taco had an unique character to it, so you don’t feel bored.
1 hour street parking is allowed. There’s a large lot across the street too.

Great people here, beautiful unassuming restaurant w/ some nice artwork and a cool handwritten menu.
The pork belly was tasty! Had a great conversation with the owner/chef’s father. I love the opportunity to know and support spots like Maquina Taco! I hope you get a chance to experience this Pasadena spot too.
It’s a small business, so sometimes they can’t cook your order fast! Please be patient and kind!

Delicious tocos! Atmosphere is a bit quirky and prices are higher than I’d like, but overall I was very satisfied with the meal. Had asada and chicken mole first time around. Excited to be back to try the others. Happy this place is in the neighborhood!

Formerly a quick bite, now a wait-in-line taco spot, Maquina is an evening counterpoint to the equally fantastic Seed Bakery around the corner. An extensive menu of interesting and surprising menu items that has never disappointed in hitting all of our taco cravings.
Happy to have Maquina in our neighborhood!

I found my new favorite taco place in the SGV.
Great tacos and friendly staff. Although they do serve traditional flavors and meats like Al pastor and carne asada, there are also some inventive new flavors like ribeye + lobster. The garlic shrimp and potato tacos were my favorite but I'll definitely be back to try some more.

Really good service and clean, burrito is made with really good tasting meat(asada). Stop by and try something I am sure it will be good flavor. Also have vegan menu

This place is awesome! Dynamite salsa bar. Octopus tacos. Lobster - bacon breakfast burrito. I had the potato taco and the mushroom taco. Delicious!

What's with these glowing reviews? This place is mediocre at best. The food took far too long to come out, the portions were small, the prices were outrageous, the lamb was dry, the food was under seasoned, the mole was too sweet, the duck was dry, the ceviche was bitter. The salsa was pretty good.
Do not recommend. There are far better taco places in Pasadena
