Mar | Muntanya Review - Downtown - Salt Lake City - The Infatuation

"The thing you need to order when you have dinner at this spot in the Hyatt Regency is the Roast Beast Feast. This large-format dish that sounds straight out of a Dr. Seuss book is made up of a wagyu bone-in ribeye tomahawk that comes with a flight of sauces and is worth whatever it costs at market price. The menu also features tapas and pintxos, like papas bravas and the very not-Spanish funeral croquette casserole fritters, but the large-format paella that’s loaded with chorizo, chicken, shrimp, and mussels is a can’t-miss. Always end the meal with cinnamon churros with local hot chocolate and caramel sauces." - Jenny Willden

Tyson and his team serve up an absolutely exceptional dining experience. Every detail—from presentation to flavor—was carefully crafted and thoughtfully executed. You can feel the passion behind each dish. We were truly blown away by the depth of flavor in every single bite. This meal ranks among the best I’ve ever had. If you have the chance to eat here, don’t hesitate—it’s unforgettable.

I had the most wonderful birthday dinner at Mar | Muntanya last night. My server was fantastic and truly made the experience memorable. The drinks were delicious (there were so many incredible options to choose from) and the food was wonderful. I ordered the Sourdough with Spruce Tip Jelly, the Asparagus & Mushrooms, and the Funeral Croquettes. Each one was thoughtfully crafted and delicious in their own right. The interior of the restaurant is stunning and kept in an immaculate state. The views of the mountains and the city are simply the cherry on top. I'll be back next year!

We celebrated our one-year wedding anniversary at Mar Muntanya, and it felt like the perfect full-circle moment. The name means “Sea and Mountain” in Catalan—fitting, since their menu blends coastal and inland Spanish flavors, and the view from their patio is all about the stunning Salt Lake City skyline and Wasatch mountains. This spot holds a special place in our hearts. When we got married, we held our reception here using the outdoor globes. The team treated us incredibly well—we were even able to bring in our own cake and pre-order the paella. That paella? Unforgettable. Generous portions, beautifully seasoned, and rich with saffron. So naturally, for our anniversary, we made a reservation and requested to sit outside again. Highly recommend asking for a patio seat—the shaded area keeps it cool, and the city view adds such a vibrant, urban backdrop. We started with a glass of sparkling wine served in coupe glasses (adorable and photo-ready), then dove into a tapas adventure. Oysters were on the menu, and I always have to try them—small but perfectly briny and fresh. The octopus asador was a standout: beautifully charred and served over creamy mashed potatoes. We also loved the tuna avocado—gorgeous presentation and clean flavors. Of course, we pre-ordered the paella again (and yes, it seemed even bigger this time!). We added crispy papas bravas and buttery grilled scallops—both fantastic complements. Another glass of cava for a toast, and we wrapped it all up with a scoop of sorbet and a refreshing mocktail called Wedding Punch. There’s a sweet memory behind that punch—during our wedding reception, one of our guests ordered a round of Wedding Punches with Prosecco for the table. It’s become a little tradition now, one we’ll keep revisiting. Service was top-notch—attentive, kind, and never rushed. The space is stylish without feeling stuffy, and that view… truly one of the best in the city. It was a perfect anniversary night. Here’s to year two—and many more celebrations at Mar Muntanya.

This restaurant sits on top of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown SLC. It has plenty of seating with nice views of the city. I wish I could remember our waiters name. I think he was also the bartender. He was ever so knowledgeable about the menu and offered us several different options. He didn't lead us in the wrong direction because everything we ate was absolutely devin. This is a tappas restaurant, so the portions are small. Everything from the crab to Ashley's cake was full of flavor and delicious. The ambiance here was nice and relaxing while I was here. This is a fine dining establishment, so it is a but pricey. I felt it was worth it. Our waiter truly made the whole experience fun, and we were excited to taste every dish.

Google
Made a dinner reservation for our anniversary and we were blown away. Our server Hayden was exceptional—his recommendations were on point and he was so attentive! The tuna tosta (Photo 1; Pictured left) is an absolute must for us, but you will not be disappointed with a single thing on this menu. Mar | Muntanya made our special day even more meaningful with such amazing atmosphere and service. We will definitely be back next time we are in SLC!

We had dinner at Mar Muntanya and absolutely loved our meal. Great variety of tapas. We had elk and shrimp and it was so delicious. The sourdough bread - amazing especially with butter and jam. Excellent service. We also had Brussels sprouts, asparagus and mushrooms. Everything was so tasty and beautiful presentation! Highly recommend

Google
Did the globe experience, the food was top notch, the atmosphere is unbeatable, and the service was perfect. Kinda pricey so make sure you have quite a bit available to spend. For 2 appetisers, 4 dishes to share, a loaf of bread, 3 drinks, 2 deserts, and the globe reservation we were in $340. Well worth the price though

Google
Don’t underestimate this restaurant just because it is a “hotel restaurant”. The cocktails here are excellent! They have an extensive list of gins that can go along with their house made spruce tip tonic water: The absolute best gin and tonic I have ever had! Wine list is rather limited, but I think they focus more on the mixed drinks. Excellent oysters on the half shelf, and amazing Spanish tapas dishes. We ate here twice on our 3 day trip to Salt Lake City. Highly recommend if you like tapas, small plates, and drinks!

Yelp
Absolutely loved the vibe at Mar Muntanya! The ambiance is stylish yet welcoming, with a fantastic view that makes it perfect for any occasion. Although I haven't sampled everything on the menu yet, you can tell a lot of care goes into both the presentation and quality of the dishes. The whole team was warm and attentive, but a special shoutout goes to manager Eric--he truly went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and that guests felt genuinely taken care of. Can't wait for next time

Yelp
I had dinner at Mar Muntanya with a colleague during a stay at the Hyatt Regency for a conference, and it was by far the best meal that I had in Salt Lake City. The restaurant has a cool, laid back vibe with ample seating indoors, outdoors, and at the bar. Mar Muntanya features small plates (and fairly small portions). Luckily, I wasn't too hungry, so I was full after the amazing sourdough bread (with fancy local butter and sea salt) and two dishes. The Funeral Croquetas were cheesy funeral potatoes in croqueta form- how can you go wrong? Answer: YOU CAN'T. The Scallops Escabeche were delicious. Three scallops, cooked to perfection with a tasty orange sauce. I started dinner with a cortado, served with sparkling water (to cleanse your palate- again, fancy), which was strong and smooth. Service was on the slow side since our server was a bartender (and clearly busy), but he made up for it with an unflinchingly pleasant and knowledgeable demeanor. All the food and drinks were well worth the wait. If you're staying at the Hyatt Regency or nearby and don't mind dropping $100 or more on a dinner for two, Mar Muntanya is a great spot for you.

Yelp
Trivia: The origin of sangria is an interesting and somewhat unclear story. What does seem to be agreed upon is there was a precursor beverage called Leonese Lemonade which was popular in what age? - - - I've stayed at the Hyatt for several years and never made to the sixth floor for a jaunt at this restaurant. I don't know why. It is a very convenient spot with lots of natural light and very friendly staff. And, as it turns out, delicious sangria. My advice: ask for a sample of their homemade tonic and let those be the guide to whether you get the white or red sangria. The menu has a few full size entrees, but most of the offerings are small plates (tapas). The three small plates I tried were very tasty. I found the sausage was not overly sausagey and the slight slicing to it meant that awkward, cut and juice flow, was missing (yay!). The shrimp al ajillo was good but the savory white wine sauce was most of the show. I should have dipped the croquettas in there. The funeral croquettas were the most bland of the bunch. Maybe not enough cheese? The breading was light, and the potatoes of a decent temp (not the burn your tongue variety). June is apparently the shoulder season and I had the whole bar, and almost the entire restaurant, all to myself. This resulted in a delightful conversation with the bartender and the chance to try the chef's house made tonics (remember to try these before selecting a sangria).

Yelp
The food was good. Patatas Bravas were pretty standard and the Bravas sauce had the perfect kick to it. The croquettes were a fusion of Spanish & Utah favorites with the twist on this classic dish including funeral potatoes. I wasn't a big fan of this dish personally. The Brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly topped with a fluffy brown sugar. I highly recommend ordering this dish! The steak was in incredible with a smoky flavor. It was tender and cooked perfectly. I was really excited to try the basque cheesecake but thought it was way to dense. We were essentially trying to recreate our recent trip to Basque Country by visiting this restaurant & we went there with our friend who has family there & spent a lot of time in Spain. We thought everything was a little overpriced but the staff was welcoming and ambiance itself was stunning.

Yelp
The best part of the experience for me here was definitely the view from the upper level. I went during the day. I found parking across from the restaurant in a structure. The space itself is clean, spacious, and welcoming with large windows offering a nice view. The staff was helpful and walked me through the menu, which I appreciated. As for the food (oysters and crudo), it was just okay for me. Nothing particularly memorable for the price point. It might not be a spot I'd return to on my own, but I'd be open to coming back for a group outing/special event where the ambiance and setting would add to the experience.

Yelp
We went last night and had such a great time! Our waiter Ross was phenomenal. He had great suggestions in wine and food. We had crab skewers, Brussels sprouts, the papa braves, pan con tomate., and fabulous steak We had lovely wine . It was a fun evening.

Yelp
Went for my Galentine's dinner with my sisters. Inside of a nice hotel on the 6th floor. Nice view! Food was smaller than I expected, small portions for the pricing. The food was good, not amazing. The service was the best, and the ambiance was okay, I would like to try brunch here instead. I hear great things about brunch!

Yelp
We tried calling beforehand to make sure they kept on serving food after 9 PM but they didn't answer the phone. We got there at about 905 and they said that there was a smaller menu and you can only sit in the bar. Which was fine. There is like a whole entire empty restaurant almost nobody there, the girl at the front the host the White girl with the long brown hair had horrible energy and was just very weird to us. She told us we can sit wherever we want - she didn't wanna walk us to a table, so we sat at a booth because there's no booths actually at the bar area. We sat right next to the bar area. They said we can't sit there which we were literally 10 inches from the bar, but we wanted to sit down at a booth. Then they just basically told us to sit somewhere else. This is supposed to be an upscale restaurant and we're gonna spend a few hundred dollars on a dinner but we can't sit down right next to the bar next to each other at a booth? Ended up going to urban Hill afterwards and had amazing exceptional service there. This place just seems like the staff is very weird and stuck up and are too good to assist customers after 9 PM. Apparently, so I don't know put a very weird taste in our mouth we love trying very nice restaurants and this one just completely failed.

Yelp
This is definitely a fancy Spanish cuisine spot. Probably a little too fancy for me. When I think brunch I just want to keep It simple, there weren't many simple options so I opted for the kale salad which was okay but nothing to rave about. $11 for a mocktail that's 8oz it's ridiculous. I do not enjoy being charged alcohol prices for juice with ice. On a sunny day, I'm sure the views are spectacular but I wasn't lucky this day.

Yelp
Dined in the bubble outside and it is quite the experience. You will need to make a reservation ahead of time and make a deposit. The deposit is just for the bubble itself, it will not go towards your meal. It is a pricer restaurant but the food was great so it ended up being worth it. Ross was our server and he was AMAZING! He had great recommendations with both drinks and food. He was very attentive and friendly. Since we were in our own bubble it was a very intimate meal! Everything we had was delicious. My favorite was the steak with the king crab added on top. Overall dining experience was pleasant.

Yelp
This was a disappointing first experience at Mar Muntanya. They were open at 1pm on a Saturday but did not seem like they expected or were ready for customers. We ordered a couple of starters and mains and they tasted reheated. Drinks were mediocre. Our bartender seemed unhappy to be there and annoyed that we were. I will give this restaurant another shot during dinner service when hopefully the Chef is in house. I've experienced great things from him at an outside event and I believe this experience was not representative of what can truly be expected at the restaurant.

Yelp
3.5 stars: Came here and ate at the bar area for two nights. Highly recommend the terraine - loved the grilled bread and accompanying garnishes. The duck confit canelons were decent. Octopus was way overpriced for the portion. Funeral croquettas were just ok. Mojama tuna toasta was too salty for my liking. Brussels sprouts were delicious but on the sweeter side.

Yelp
I come up to Utah often, for work. I love to explore various restaurants and eats that Utah has to offer. Tonight, I was fortunate to meet Chef Tyson and experience his restaurant Mar Muntanya. The ambiance is wonderful, situated 6 floors up, within the beautiful Hyatt hotel. I sat at the bar and enjoyed a couple fantastic cocktails and Chef Tyson made mouthwatering dish after the next! I highly recommend and don't miss this pick!

Yelp
The Chef's Garden Table was the best dining experience we've ever had. So fun and social, beautiful setting, amazing food and service. Felt like a family gathering but with brand new friends. Can't wait to do it again.

Yelp
Brunch for 4. - Ambiance (5*) We booked the globe. Super cozy and cute inside with fuzzy blankets, pillows, and an overhead heater. I wish the sun shined from different angle, as the sun shades blocked the view of the mountains. But legit awesome setting. The globe also includes a Bluetooth speaker, so you can play your own music. - Bougie Brunch, $75pp (5*) Beautiful plate, served almost like a rotating charcuterie board. Phenomenal shrimp cocktail. Plump shrimp, really tasty sauce. Delicious waffles- slight crunch, good sugar. Great bread. Fresh whipped cream. Perfectly cooked asparagus. Crunchy potatoes. Amazing food. - Value (4*) Admittedly expensive, but it's really worth it. - Final Word From the setup to amazing food, wow wow wow. I never really understood the allure to breakfast but this- changes my perception.

Yelp
The patatas bravas were excellent. They are perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Smokey spiced as I would expect. The trout was good. I feel like the bread was a little overwhelming for the flavor of the fish and it may have been better if it had been on something lighter. I sat at the bar. The service was very good.
google avatar

Yelp
We ate a lot of tapas but only got 1 photo... and it's of my cocktail! Food to try: the Elk ( so tender), trout, papas, brussels Drink: I loved the Golden Hour and my friends loved the Raspberry Days. Our server Dan is the bomb!! He took care of our table of 12 with the best attitude and attention. The outside looked very cool with sir conditioned igloos and oversized couches. If our group was smaller, I would have loved to sit in an igloo.

Yelp
6th floor of the Hyatt. Valet, parking garage, or public parking lot nearby. Great service from Tanya. Favorite was the Game Blend Link with bison, elk, and wagyu. The Mountain Shepherd's pie with bison and elk was okay. We enjoyed the Duck Confit Canelons a bit better. Papas Bravas, and Funeral Croquetas were also okay. We loved the drinks! Don Pistachio, and Gin Mahon Xoriguer were excellent. Gorgeous interior with city views, reservation advised.

Yelp
What a cute experience! We went for the "Holiday Boujee Bubble Brunch" where you get to enjoy your brunch experience in decorated climate-controlled globe. The vibes on point! We loved the fact that there was a bluetooth speaker we could sync to and play our own music. We ordered bottomless mimosas were we served bottles of sparkling wine and an assortment of juices/purees. Part of the package includes the entire brunch menu which includes pancakes, waffles, bacon, home fries, sausage, cocktail shrimp and eggs. The food itself was pretty standard and OK. Our server and vibes made up for everything!

Yelp
This is the third time I've been here and it is so fun and lots of cool twists of Spanish food mixed with some local items. Our server tonight was Kristina and she made excellent suggestions and she was very fun and personable. My favorite is the Octopus! It is cooked really well and has lovely flavors. The elk loin is a close second fave. Didn't think I'd enjoy the fruit with elk but it worked. The elk was cooked perfectly. Very tender and juicy. Their sourdough is a must if you get the shrimp. It is great to dip in the sauce the shrimp comes with. Their sourdough starter is from the Gold Rush. Ive also come here to do the brunch in the globes they have on the patio. While it was pretty expensive it was so worth it. The bacon they bring out is hands down the best bacon I've ever put in my mouth. I will definitely be returning to this place and I would recommend it to anyone, especially if you are an adventurous eater! But even my very picky father in law found many good things to eat.

Carol S.

Yelp
A stellar meal! Their chef does a wonderful job blending and balancing ingredients and creating tapas that are a visual treat as well as a hit with the tastebuds. Menu changes quarterly, and features local produce. We enjoyed the outside terrace seating with its view of downtown. Our server, Sage, was attentive (but not too much so) and also found time to answer all our menu questions and chat with us. Would definitely recommend Mar Muntanya for a memorable meal!

Yelp
We ate at the globe experience amazing time but the chuletón ribeye could have been better. Amazing service, Dani our server made the experience twice as pleasant. It was great to be able to play your own music while being warm. Loved the papa bravas, the shrimp with sourdough bread, and the cheesecake. As mentioned the chuletón ribeye was a bit underwhelming at 125$. Ribeye needed a better sear on the exterior, and the cut we received was not as tender as expected on the inside. Only complaint besides that still had a great time with my Fiance.

Kyla W.

Yelp
HANNAH and SAGE were our servers, they truly made this experience so amazing! First time here and they were so patient very attentive! The service was really amazing and quick! They answered all our questions, took pictures for our group. We are celebrating my friends birthday and they sang happy birthday with us and brought us our cake with a lit candle it was so sweet and such a special moment. I just want to say again they truly made our night so so special! Love you Hannah and Sage!

Yelp
I wanted to post a great review after receiving a $764 bill for four of us. I really did! At a price that high, everything should be PERFECT. But it just wasn't. The highlights were dining in a private alpenglobe with a very nice waiter, the holiday cocktail, crab skewer, shepherd's pie, desserts, and wagyu Tomahawk steak. The misses were an extremely long wait between courses and in general, meh Brussel sprouts, fatty pork skewer, and a sneaky $120 "service charge" just for dining in the globe, AFTER paying $100 non-refundable fee to reserve it. My kids LOVED the shrimp skewer (shared one) and the boys raved about the huge Tomahawk steak. The quality of the beef was great. In truth, ordering the off-menu steak could be why it took SO long. The boys were trying to save their share of our papas bravas and croquettes to eat together with steak, but it was probably a good 20-25 min in between and the sides were getting cold. Also, don't think it was worth $350. The elk, bison, wagyu shepherd's pie was incredible. Unfortunately, the Brussel sprouts were a bit undercooked. The dessert was also amazing! We shared the churros and bread pudding. We debated which was the best. I think it was the Bread pudding with those sun-dried cherries and candied pecans. Take time to eat the churros, since my son said his first bite was molten lava. Also, if you are expecting a city view from the alpenglobe, you'll be disappointed. It just faces the back side of the restaurant, not the city. It was still fun to be in the globe, with a Bluetooth Speaker we could connect to, and cozy blankets. We really did enjoy our waiter's kind explanations and his gracious pointing out of the service charge. If he hadn't, we would have included the fee in our tip calculation. He could have done a better job of explaining/apologizing for the wait. I just wish it had been the most perfect meal, as it was absolutely the most expensive meal we've ever had. (Two skewers, 3 sides, two entrees, 5 drinks, and 2 desserts). I'm filled with buyer's remorse!

Yelp
Another amazing visit to Mar Muntanya. Full of flavor, unique offerings and unsurpassed seasonal specialties. This restaurant is a must during each of my visits in Salt Lake. It also offers and amazing view of downtown Salt Lake City and beautiful outdoor seatings as well. The staff is great with plenty of help on hand to support any needs. Truly a must try.

Yelp
My friends and I found the bougie bubble brunch on tik-tok. It's located at the Hyatt Regency Salt Lake. We're from Las Vegas and this had to be one of the best brunch experience of our lives minus the "boozy". We came late February and it wasn't as cold as expected, but the outdoor bubble gave nice protection from the crisp air. It came with our own Bluetooth speaker so we set the vibe. It was a beautiful day. We were starving when we got there so we requested their bread service. Our server tried to warn us that we were about to get a ton of carbs and food, but we said bring on the bread anyway and so glad we did!! The bread and marmalade were AMAZING. No surprise the bread was made in-house. We found the food in Salt Lake to be of very high quality and fresh. The manager came out and shared the story of the restaurant and chef. You could truly see the passion behind the food and experience we were about to receive. First of all the presentation was spectacular and provided the best of everything. There were 6 of us and we made a pretty good dent in the meal, we still had to take items to go. They could have went a little lighter on the amount of eggs, we felt bad for wasting them. The pancakes were the best, the story of the bacon and marmalade made us appreciate every bite. The price was worth it, but would have loved if it came with a bottle of bubbly or a glass for each person. Even charging a tad bit more to include this would make sense or maybe that's just the Vegas speaking. We decided to come back for dinner and had another enjoyable meal, tapas style.

Yelp
A really crazy reel popped on my Instagram about a globe brunch experience and I got really excited to try this place out. My husband and I went to this place on a Saturday brunch and we absolutely loved the place. We had waffles and chicken, pancakes and French toast. Let's start with waffles and chicken which comes with potatoes. It was an absolute delight and we ordered a second serving of the same dish. My second fav is definitely pancakes. It was fluffier and has a lemon tinge to it. French toast was good too. The place is really nice and the service was attentive. Though we couldn't get to the globe- which is both expensive and fully booked- we thoroughly enjoyed the place.

Yelp
I love the ambience. The service is amazing. The view is spectacular. I have been scoping out this restaurant for months. Ehhh. The food is overly expensive vs taste. I probably wouldn't come back again. Started with mimosas. Okay ya got me on $13 a mimosa. Fine. Got the half a dozen oysters for $32. A half?!?! Served with beef tartare. Let's stop there. As it arrived at our table I thought Hmm. This is not beef tartare. This is a piece of a raw steak that you just cut off the end of another steak, probably off of the dinner menu steak. Beef tartare is not a chunk of meat. It is precisely chopped up with other amazing ingredients. So basically, we had raw oysters with a slice of raw beef. No lemon served. A side of cocktail sauce and vinegar. Huge disappointment for price. For brunch. Looked amazing. Got the country fried elk loin. Waiter said it was so tender I didn't need a knife. Um. Yes I did. I fact. I needed a steak knife. The chorizo gravy was good. Just needed more. Wouldn't get this again. My friend got the beet salad and that was pretty good.

Yelp
I've seen and heard so much about this place. Located at the heart of downtown, it's inside the new hotel that is attached to the conference center. It's on the 7th floor, and the view is amazing. Highly recommend coming with a bigger group and make sure you book early, they do tend to sell out quickly. If you want one of the cute seats outside I recommend arriving 30 mins in advance. Those get snatch up quickly on the first come first seat. Also I recommend checking what theme they are doing if you're going to one of their theme nights. The night I went was "elk-tober". It was everything elk. The food that was served that night was yummy. There were some hit or miss. The muscles wasn't a favorite cause there was a strong after taste. Some of the elk meat did lack seasoning, apparently you're suppose to use a sauce for it, but the sauce was before the meat. I think my most favorite thing was the paella. It was a bit burnt, but still yummy. The desserts were really good too. The service was a miss for us as well. Our tables weren't cleared until we waved them down. No one came to take our drink order for a while. Also the food area was mostly empty until someone told them to go get more. If they weren't told to, they wouldn't have gotten it. I mostly enjoyed myself. I would probably come back to try a different theme some other time.

Yelp
Neat spot on the 6th floor of Hyatt regency. Great lunch special on some weekdays, $10 half sandwich and salad. This was a perfect quick meal to refuel after a morning hike.

Yelp
Love the views and the location. It felt very fancy. The drink was nice and refreshing. I came during the day just exploring through central SLC and I was solo; however, this is a spot I would love to go for date night or in dress-up date with some girlfriends!

Yelp
Five stars is not enough for this place! The ambiance is relaxing and upscale. The rooftop view is incredible! The servers know the menu well and are very accommodating. The best part is the food! Every single dish was spectacular! Oysters, beet and goat cheese salad, croquetas, octopus, duck, and bread pudding were packed with flavor! The cocktails are unique and delicious. I want to have that experience repeatedly!

What a lovely experience on every level. The restaurant is set in the high buildings of downtown Salt Lake City so the views are lovely, especially at sunset. I lived in Spain and I absolutely loved the authentic Spanish style of food mixed with more American and even Utah flare. My friend at the Elk (decidedly not Spanish) and she couldn't stop raving about it for the rest of the night. I enjoyed more traditional tapas and pinxtos and was really happy with the garlic and almond gazpacho and whatever they did tit heckle salad was incredible. I could not get enough. The wine list wasn't extensive but what was there was good. Service was friendly and she knew both tue wine and the food, which doesn't always happen in Utah. Finally, they had a really good musician playing. Really good meaning perfectly fit into the vibe of the restaurant, not too loud but loud enough to add to the ambiance. Good find! Bathrooms: unknown, I didn't use them. Parking: why park when you can valet. It was $15 with our reservation. I will definitely be coming back for the ambiance and the food.

Yelp
I recently had a business dinner here and the food and service were amazing! I have to be honest, I wasn't excited about the menu when I first looked but I promise you, the food is excellent! Our server made several great recommendations.

Yelp
Delicious food, stellar service, and breathtaking views. We really enjoyed the Grilled Octopus and Papas Bravas the most. The octopus is sous vide and then grilled, it makes for the most amazing consistency and flavor. The shrimp really went well with the sourdough bread for dipping. The funeral croquettes are also a must try item, I love that they give you a few slices of spicy pepper on the side so you can spice it up to your own liking. The staff is super friendly and even made sure we didn't miss stepping out on their private balcony for a sunset photo. The view was just gorgeous.

Yelp
We made a special trip to drive into Salt Lake City to have lunch here. Fighting the road construction, and lack of parking, we finally made our way to the 6th floor of the New Hyatt Regency, and the Mar Muntanya restaurant. Walking into the restaurant we noticed there was only one other table with patrons. Note to self: this is a RED flag. We were seated at a table next to a window at which the hostess killed a Mayfly that was flying around in front of our table. We were handed a lunch menu that was hard to read because the ink was falling of the menu. The waitress/hostess came over and asked if we wanted anything to drink. I wanted a wine, but didn't recognize any of the choices, not to worry... they have SAMPLES! I am so glad they did, as the Deloach I was going to order was just plain awful. It is bottom shelf for sure, even a box wine tastes better than this. I then tried the El Castro De Valtuille, which wasn't good either. I just ordered the Pinot Grigio and called it a day. I've had better wine for less than what they charge. The lunch menu is very, very limited. We were going to order a couple of appetizers, but the Beet Salad that we wanted to order was "Out of Stock" also the West Coast Oysters were a No go. I understand not having the oysters, but salad? Come on! We just settled on the Tuna. For our main course we ordered a Mountain Patty Melt, and a Pollo Frito Sandwich, and then we waited, waited, waited, waited, waited and waited some more. I'm not exaggerating. When our sandwiches came out it was a HUGE disappointment, Gordan Ramsey would be so appalled with the lack of quality control here. Hey Chef did you not see what you plated? and waitress, did you not say to the chef "I can't serve this?" NO, they did not. When I picked up my chicken sandwich, the bottom of the bun was so soggy it was falling apart and COLD. I took one bite, and had to have a new one made, and then the wait started... again. At one point it took so long to get a freshly made chicken sandwich, (at this point we were the only customers in the restaurant) I turned on my stop watch to see how long it took for a freshly made sandwich. When my sandwich came out, I laughed in disgust. (look at my picture I took) What little chicken there was, was so dried out with burnt breading surrounding it. I thought I was going to break a tooth. Wendy's has a better chicken sandwich! The patty melt sandwich wasn't any better. The meat was dried out and tasted like it had been cooked days ago. It was not only dried out, but barley warm. What is going on? This is supposed to be a fine dining restaurant, and it's an expensive one at that. On the menu it said all sandwiches are Served with a Simple Green Salad. Yeah Right. Just look at my pictures I took see how it's plated? NO salad anywhere to be had. Talk about presentation.... Not only is the food terrible, we were seated next to a window that was lined with Mayfly's. At first I thought they were misquotes, but they are Mayfly's. Tons of them. Dead ones lining the window seals, and the live ones were along the seams of the windows. As we looked out on the view I noticed there were dead Mayfly's on the tables outside. Uggg. We were making plans to go have dessert at the nearby coffee shop, when the waitress brought us a complimentary bread pudding. Not sure why. This has got to be one of my top 5 worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. Just awful.

Yelp
Just incredible. We had the Ahi Tuna Crudo, Shrimp Al Ajillo , Shepards Bread , and the Campfire Elk Loin all on the recommendation of our great server. The ambiance was perfect as we got to watch the sunset on the city while we waited for dinner. Service was great as the gentlemen who was serving us was very informative about their M|M 's inspirations from the Spanish North and continuously checked in on us. I'd love to visit here again when we have a special occasion.

Yelp
Delicious food, tried the peach butter cake for dessert. Nice location with rooftop views of downtown SLC. service was very slow-ended the night with a parking ticket due to being in the restaurant over 2 hours. A little pricey for the small portions.

Yelp
We strolled into here on a whim for Sunday brunch. Located inside The Hyatt Hotel, we parked at City Creek and walked over. Once you enter the hotel, head to the elevators and it will tell you which floor to go to. This is a small plate menu for brunch so I can only speak to those items. We loved everything that was ordered: shrimp n grits, short rib hash, country fried elk, crispy Brussels sprouts, oysters, churro French toast and tomato toast. My least favorite was the tomato toast. My top favorite was shrimp n grits, crispy Brussels sprouts and oysters. They had this amazing hot sauce that we requested to buy a bottle of! Basically added it to everything because we love spice. The dishes were still delicious without it as well. I can't wait to come here for dinner! They also have the globe outdoor seating!

Yelp
We came back for a friends birthday and service was great for a party of 5. I would say the papas bravas were not as great as I remember it to be, but churros were consistently good. I guess sugar doesn't disappoint. My new find this time is pork ribs; the dry rubs were so delicious and the ribs had the right amount of meat and fat. I would say it was the highlight of the night for us. The octopus was tender but tasted burnt on the tail ends and didn't deliver any special taste, while the mashed potatoes were a little sour. The duck confit didn't wow me either.

Yelp
Excellent food and ambience! You don't find legit high-end restaurants that worth the price in Utah. Mar Muntanya really delivers! Highly recommended for special occasions

Yelp
Food- dishes were hit or miss. Some of them have too much going on and were totally different than what we had imagined. Service was good. Amtosphere is nice. Value - given the food was hit or miss, we didnt think the high bill was worth it.

Yelp
We came up here to have a couple of drinks and enjoy the view. We had to order some food to have drinks so we got the patatas bravas and the endive salad. Both were really good! My friend got the campfire old fashioned which she really liked. They have really cool yurts on the patio you can eat in. But they are reservation only and were filled up. Great spot! The brunch menu also looked really good.

Yelp
The service was immaculate. The food even better. Thank you Regan, Hannah, Amilicar, Chef Andrew and Eric.

Yelp
Loved the service and atmosphere. Classy. Romantic and comfortable. Excellent staff who made our dinner a great experience. It's important to understand this is a Spanish Tapas restaurant. Even the Paella is small. Servers four? More like 2. Expect high quality ingredients, incredible flavors and creative, vibrant dishes and drinks. Don't expect huge portions.
