Great Halal Uzbek restaurant. The food was delicious, hearty, and very filling. We ordered salads, manti, lyulya kebab, plov, lagman, and potato’s with mushrooms. The waiters were very nice and friendly.

I've walked past this place many times but never knew what kind of restaurant it was. Today I finally tried it with our family, and it completely blew us away — a true hidden gem! The quality of the meat is excellent, the prices are very reasonable, and the portions are huge!Highly recommend the Tandir Gusht, all kinds of skewers, Plov, and the LG Dumplings. We’ll definitely be coming back often with our family!

This was my first time dining at the Uzbek restaurant Marakand, and since I had never tried Uzbek cuisine before, I wasn’t sure what to order. Our server, Ikrom, was incredibly helpful and friendly. I asked him for recommendations, and he suggested their most popular dishes: the Plov (one portion) and the LG dumplings, also known as manti in Uzbek. The plov was delicious and flavorful, and the four-piece manti dumplings were absolutely wonderful. I really appreciated how Ikrom took the time to guide me through the menu and make sure I had a great experience. Thanks to his recommendations, I ended up with two perfect dishes. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience.

Can’t get enough of this place! I’ve tried most of the Uzbek spots around, and this one’s the best so far. The kebabs are grilled to perfection over charcoal, and the plov rice was absolutely amazing. Plus, their lunch special is the best deal around!

We had dinner at this restaurant today. The interior of the hall is simple. A huge chandelier enlivens the interior. The servers are modest and polite, it was very comfortable to communicate with them, they answered all our questions and gave recommendations. We tried plov, Marakand spec.wrap, chicken and beef kebabs, home made compot and Uzbek flatbreads. The food was served 15 minutes after ordering, very quickly. The prices are average. The atmosphere is calm, pleasant music was playing, I recommend!

Chilly night and feening for some soup and kebabs. This is the spot you must try. Uzbek style different meat kebab hitting the right taste buds. Try their fillet mignon, lamb chops, lambs ribs. Don’t forget the lagman soup! Ok last one…carrots and beef plov a must try

The order was described as lamb ribs, but in reality it was just a pile of fries 🍟 and bones with barely any meat 🦴🤏. There was almost no meat at all — the pieces were broken, and it felt like leftovers rather than a proper dish. I expected juicy ribs, but got a plate of bones with fries and a lemon wedge just for show 🍋🙄. The quality and presentation do not match the description or the price. I won’t be ordering again.

Amazing experience, a little bit of a language barrier with the staff but the food was great! Delicious appetizers and main dishes, we ordered half the menu! The atmosphere was beautiful and cozy, great for families, we brought a 4 month old with his stroller and it we had a great time! Highly recommended this restaurant to everyone who loves Mediterranean cuisine!

The food here was amazing, and great value! The rice plov (pilof) was very well done, and full of flavor on each bite. We ordered a large portion of the menu and pretty much everything was delicious. My issue with the restaurant was that there was a lingering smell, and the table felt a bit greasy as we sat down. They could potentially just be having an off day. Regardless, the food is worth trying!

First time eating here and having Uzbek food to celebrate a family birthday. Surprised that it is more casual, with chandeliers though; and is very family-friendly. Music was playing and noticed that it was someone singing live. Gozleme was served more like a quesadilla than flatbread. Without the dip, the ground meat was a bit plain. The fried small dumplings looked like tortellinis. A bit too crispy though to taste the filling so will try the steamed next time. The hummus and babaghanoush (preferred this, with a slight spiciness) went well with the warm toasted bread. We liked the plov with tender lamb and veggies. Their skewers were cooked well, still juicy and tasty. I usually wouldn't order chicken but they were good here. Lunch specials available. Great service from the minute we went in and throughout the dinner - our young server was very pleasant and friendly; offered to refrigerate the bday cake, then lights were dimmed and bday song was played when it was brought out.

Plov was very flavorful and the beef was tender, shredded atop a bed of rice and with sweet pieces of corn and spices. The lamb leg shish kebab was tender while the veal liver wasn't too organ-y. The baba ganoush was a tad more solid than what I've been used to.

Large Uzbek restaurant that serves halal. If you come during Ramadan, be sure to make a reservation since it gets full for iftar. Dates and water are provided for iftar. The food and service were great. They also have a section for prayers. The samsas are flaky and delicious especially paired with the sauce. The tandir gosht is so tender and a bit smoky. The plov was also very good but the meat is a bit dry. Overall everything was great! Would definitely come back!

Who doesn't like Uzbeki cuisine?!?! I always jump at a chance to go for Uzbeki food, and so should you. What a treat! I have driven by this place so many times, and they always catch my eye. 12 of us ventured out to Marakand for the first time a few weeks ago, and we were pleasantly surprised! Service and hospitality were great; food was tasty and fabulous! Our menu (shared by 4 ppl): - Tandir Samsa ($3.49 each): these were phenomenal!! Filled with delicious seasoned lamb; fresh out of the oven and heavenly. But be careful because they're super HOT; don't burn your tongue! (5/5) - Barak ($9.99/small): these tiny boiled meat dumplings were delicious; especially with the side of sour cream. This was a simple dish but packed with flavor. (4/5) - Gozleme w.ground meat ($7.99): I though this was supposed to be a baked flatbread pizza-like dish, but what we got was more of a quesadilla-type dish. I was slightly disappointed but it was still pretty tasty. (3.5/5) - Persian Salad ($9.99): Basic cucumber, tomato & onions salad. Went really well with all our meat dishes. (3.5/5) - Plov ($14.99): Fantastic! The generous portion of lamb was tender and the rice with raisins & carrots were seasoned well. (5/5) - KEBABS: -----Luyla Kebab ($5.99/skewer): seasoned ground beef; alsoluted delicious! Recommended! (5/5) -----Lamb Rib Kebab ($6.99/skewer): a tad bit tough but tasty. (4/5) -----Lamb Leg Kebab ($6.99/skewer): Perfection! Recommended! (5/5) -----Beef Skirt Kebab ($6.99/skewer): Perfection! Recommended! (5/5) I would definitely return to Marakand to try their other dishes and Kebabs! Good for large groups but I recommend making reservations. They have a huge menu to explore, and I look forward to a return visit soon! Note that this is a Halal establishment; absolutely no liquor allowed.

Went in to pick up takeout. Great place, very roomy. The food was amazing! The plov is worth every penny!

This place is great. The best kebabs I've ever had--juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The yogurt drink was refreshing, and the dumplings were delicious. We tried the filet mignon, Napoleon, chicken, and the kofte kebab--everything was spot on. The homemade potatoes with mushrooms in a creamy white sauce were a great addition; we even asked for extra sauce for the kebabs. The rice was tasty and paired perfectly with the meal. Every dish was excellent, and I can't wait to come back.

I am a Uighur, and our food culture is the same, and it tastes very good.The service attitude is also very good, I will patronize it often!

Entering the restaurant feels grand, but once your inside it has a family setting. Traditional dinnerware and furniture. Service: They are on top of everything. If it's your first time; they provide really good recommendations. Always cleaning and clearing the tables for empty dishes. We were first served naan. Freshly made and totally different from south Asian naan. Uzbek naan (Obi non) is round, puffy around the edge, while the center is flat. We dipped it my own concoction of vinegar, olive oil, and pepper. Miguel ordered a side of French fries. Entrées: Make sure you order the kabobs as soon as possible! They take their time for preparation. I believe I waited 15-20 minutes. I didn't mind the wait because I was enjoying the smell coming out of the kitchen! Lamb chops: was a little chewy, and the meat was easy to remove from the bone. Beef rolls: the beef rolled up as a spin-wheel. The smell was phenomenally from this kabob. Napoleon: The beef is marinated differently. I believe they use skirt-steak with thin layers of fat in-between stacked on each other. I'm definitely ordering 2 napoleon kabobs next time, I visit!! They provide a dipping sauce for the kabobs. It's made out of a tomato base with a hint of vinegar and onions. I wish I had more dipping sauce because I personally like sauces. Genuinely, the kabobs doesn't need any sauce. The garnishes: grilled tomato and chopped onions. The proportion of food served is very rational in my opinion. 4-5 pieces per stick. They recommended a homemade compot drink which they discribed as a fruit punch. It had a sweet tomato aftertaste! I do taste the sugar in the drink, but it balances the meal. Please try out the drink !! We skipped dessert because out stomach couldn't take anymore!!! Planning to get desserts next time!! Price: it's average for nyc standard. Recommend to order food in person only!!!

Came here a couple of years ago (middle of COVID) and was underwhelmed by food and service (I'll give them a pass on atmosphere). Came back this week and was pleasantly thrilled with how great everything was. DELICIOUS!

Drove down from New Haven Saturday 68 miles. Absolutely worth the trip. Fridays, my server was exceptionally helpful and responsive. I started with layman soup followed by a salsa and then a gozleme and kebab. The lagman,... I've never had such a wonderful soup. The salsa perfect! Gozleme was good, but not the best in the borough, while the kebab was good. Now dessert, they had a good, Fridays recommended the Mecovic, you've heard the phrase save the best for last? That mecovic was a prize winning cake. How much did I enjoy my meal? I ordered more to take home. By all means, do go and experience this wonderous cuisine.

Tried this place out, twice. First time was OK, thought maybe the second time would be better. It was my mistake because the second time was just as bad. 1. The rice was under cooked and still had a bit of crisp to it. But the plov meat was tender 2. Service wasnt good, it definitely felt unequal 3. They gave us burnt French fries. At least the guy gave a refund for that. 4. Didn't give us half our order, our order of plov was supposed to come with salad and bread, didn't provide any of that, nor did they come back to the table to even ask if we needed anything. 5. Beef Napoleon was really good and chicken wings were great. 6. Samsa was flavorful

Saw this place on tikTok so gave it a try. It's over hyped! 2 small pieces of baby lamb chops for $12, $8 for a mojito..the chicken was under cooked with slightly pink meat and rice palov was just ok. Farida's in the city is so much better. Slow service at the end when the waiter forgot to bring our check and boxes to go..And 15% gratuity added on. Disappointing experience..

Love this place and employees are so friendly and food is always fresh and delicious,good place to have a family party We will definitely will be back and make family parties as well to have lunch

Overpriced, Overpriced Not worth the money The pictures in the restaurant are misleading.

Saw this place on TikTok and the food was good but everything about the place is misleading. They don't have a lot of menu items in stock. A 6 skewer combo is good for 2-3 people and it costs $45. A 10 skewer combo is good for 4-5 people but on the menu states " good for 10 people" and costs $130. My group ordered it- it's supposed to be 1 of each skewer. They came back and told us they don't have 5 of the items, we asked to double up on some skewers but that is against their policy. We were still charged full price even though they didn't have items and were not willing to substitute what they missed. Overall the food is good but the menu is so confusing and misleading. They normally don't have everything in stock but will still charge you so watch out for those combos.

I stumbled upon this gem as I was walking home from the gym. They serve Uzbek cuisine and I've never had it before and it was delicious. I started with a salad for an appetizer and worked my way to the soup dish (Lagman) and then the traditional Uzbek dish of Plov. We then had an assortment of skewers, raw onions and sauce. Everything was delicious and such a great addition to the Rego Park neighborhood

Amazing food and great service. Had diff sorts of kebabs, palav, noodles, samsa, and dumpling. All were delicious, the palav wasn't my cup of tea but others enjoyed it. Dumplings and kebabs are top of the list. Definitely going back.

Taste was amazing of pulov but so little rice was given for 5 portion tray ordered. And only one piece bread given, i had to ask for extra instead of 5 salads. I was given half of a bread piece for the extra. Service was quick and responsive. I would have given 5 stars.

Now I'm not quite sure if I would recommend this place to a friend because of the service. We made reservations for a party of 7 for iftar. We got there 30 mins before iftar and there was only 2 water bottles on the table. The waiters were not attentive at all and forgot our samsas. We knew right of the bat the service was trash and thought maybe if we ordered the Samsas we can break our fast with it but no they completely forgot about it. At the end of receiving our food we had to remind them. They never came to check up on us. Food wasn't bad just the service was horrible.

Really lovely home style spot with great food. I brought my whole family here and everyone loved it. All the grilled meats were so juicy and delicious, eggplant salad was so good, plov also some of the best I've had. Highly recommend

28 dollars for 4 beef skirts, I expected more than 15 small pieces of kebab, with the aluminum container it doesn't even weigh a pound.There was more onion that the kebab it's self. Not even mentioning that it took an hour to get to my house which is 0.7 mi away.Honestly disappointing.

This place taste really good i had the kababs n plov it was really on point. The staff was nice but they dont speak too much english but kind of understand there not going to be on top of u every single moment catering to your needs but if u need anything there more than glad to help you and get it for you. Prices are fair for uzbek cuisine.

We picked up nearly $100 of takeout, but the quality of the food was abysmal for the most part. We ordered both lamb platters and felt like we paid $50 largely for 2 platters of crinkled fries, as the lamb pieces were not only tiny but also very dry, like they'd been left in the oven to keep them warm the entire day. The samsas and wrap were just ok, but nothing to write home about and ultimately not worth the price tag. The only thing we liked was the baba ganoush, as it tasted creamy and buttery... and was sorely needed to accompany the rest of the dry food. Unfortunately, with all the other options around and the poor quality of their food, I can't see myself giving them another chance.

Really enjoyed the food here. Excellent Lagman (Noodle Soup), Plov (Rice with Meat) & Shishkababs (Mushroom, Lamb and Napolean were my favorites). But the star of the show, even with the misprint on the menu, was the "Baby" Ganoush with the flat bread. Looking forward to trying other dishes.

Went for dinner with kids. TANDIR GUSHT (lamb cooked in the oven) was very overcooked and dry. PLOV came with beef where it was little meet but most of beef fat. My daughter was sick after that.

We originally wanted to go to a different restaurant, but it was closed and as we had already parked and did not want to lose a spot in this area as parking here is infamously tight, we had decided to just go to whichever first place with kebabs we stumbled upon. Marakand was the closest. We were seated right away, and it was not too busy on a Sunday afternoon. There seems to only be one waitress for the entire place, but we did not have any issues with the service, except that they forgot one of the appetizers we really wanted to try, and we did not notice till the bill came. The kebabs were excellent. We got chicken, leg of lamb and lyulya, these were all succulent, seasoned well and delicious. Plov was good, but not great and looked very different from what I had eaten before. The meat in it was good quality, but it seems that it did not have much seasoning as I have not tasted the usual spices that go into plov such as garlic, cumin, etc. It was still tasty, just not what I am used to.

They gave me old spoiled soup. Their service is so poor. My friend did party . All people were not satisfied with food and service. I didn't recommend this place . Just waste of money and time.
