Was travelling through for the day on a cruise ship And we headed to market. I’ve been looking for a quality leather belt like these for year’s and I was so glad to find this shop. The quality and style of my belt are amazing and the young guy who made it was really nice, laid back and welcoming. I’m so happy to have it for years to come. Would definitely recommend And I’ll be back if at m we visit Seattle again!!!

Google
I am in AWE, not only at the gorgeous color and workmanship but the customer service from the Marakesh team was top tier as well! I cannot wait to wear this stunning belt - and I highly, HIGHLY recommend them.

Raven Jameson

Google
Marakesh makes phenomenal products that are remarkably reasonably priced given their solid durability. I've been shopping here for over 15 years, and the shortest amount of time one of their belts lasted was five years of daily wear through marked weight change. The staff are all amazing, too. Very helpful and personable.

Google
My third belt here - first class service and beautiful belts - highly recommend !!

Google
I've owned one of their leather money clips for many years now. It still holds up today as if it were brand new. I even purchased another for a friend for xmas this year along with a belt for myself and a leather coin purse for my girlfriend. Everything has exceeded expectation and is of incredible quality. They even take care to wrap their products in a very personal way before shipping them out. Plus their customer service is beyond fantastic.

Google
I left a previous, now retracted, review due to a belt issue. The customer service is above and beyond. I have since received the replacement belt with the correct leather and it is phenomenal in quality and color.

Google
Purchased two belts here today. Lots of selection and styles/belt widths as well as buckles, etc for your belt. They custom make the belt for you as you wait, and make sure it fits properly.

Google
We had a belt custom fit for my husband and the craftsman ship is excellent as is the gentleman helping us. Very nice man who helped a lady while we waited and did so for no charge.

Yelp
Super pleased with Marakesh Leather. They are located in the Pike Place Market behind the Fish Throwing place . Marakesh Leather has all kinds of leather goods and gifts. I wanted a simple black band and they made a custom leather bracelet on the spot with materials they had on hand. Excellent service, super friendly, and went above and beyond with my request. They offer a great supply with many options. Definitely recommend checking them out. Visit their website at marakeshleathergoods.com for more info.

Yelp
We have a belt we bought from them. The buckle broke and they refused to fix it. Said metal work not covered. Very poor service not to take care of defective buckle

Yelp
I was searching for a 1.75"-2" black leather belt to wear with jeans, which was next to impossible at the retailers where I normally shop. Marakesh Leather came up on a Google search, and after I noticed they were located in the Pike Place Market, I had to give them a try. My current home is the north suburbs of Atlanta, but I lived on the NW side of Tacoma two different times for work, and I used to frequent the market. To have a custom item constructed and delivered in less than a week was quite surprising. The attention to detail with the belt itself is incredible, and the same goes for the packaging. (A free leather key chain was included with my order) I'm not sure how many more items I will order from these folks, but it's safe to say I will be a RETURN CUSTOMER. Consider Marakesh for someone on your upcoming holiday shopping list that appreciates fine leather goods. -Greg O.-

Yelp
I have purchased a handful of leather goods from Marakesh Leather over the years - everything from belts to wallets. Not only are these creative and quality goods, the folks that run Marakesh go above and beyond when it comes to customer service. Most recently, I swung by their booth in need of a simple belt loop. The gentleman who fashioned these was unavailable at the time, but I was able to email my request, and low and behold, five loops (different colors) showed up in the mail. It's rare to find this level of customer service nowadays. Marakesh will always be my go-to, for this reason alone.

Yelp
By some miracle I lost weight, and needed to add another hole on my belt and also cut off a little excess length (I accidentally ordered a belt one or two sizes too big for me). I didn't catch his name but the clerk did all that work and didn't charge me! That was so unexpected and generous of him! I was ready to pay some sorta service charge. I did buy a cool keychain with a real scorpion inside clear poxy. It caught my eye and I had to have it. Ended up showing it to my best friend and he wanted it, so I gifted it to him. Now I gotta go back and buy another one for myself! Definitely going back to buy my next belt from Marakesh!

Yelp
Marakesh Leather ( AKA the leather gods) is located in the Pike Place Market making amazing hand crafted leather products including custom belts. I was in need of a leather belt to showcase some of my KING BABY belt buckles and within an hour they had them ready for me. I was impressed by the master leather craftsman who took the time to explain various leathers and measured me for the perfect belt. Now if you desire other belts options they have a few dozen designs you may purchase. Many decorative designed belts, purses & wristbands and I'm sure other items can be made. My brain just doesn't recall at the moment. Find Marrakesh Leather directly next to the Flying Fish Stand at the front of the market. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
For months I've been looking for a replacement piece for a leather belt - the loop that holds the extra at the end of the belt. No one sells just that, But yesterday, passing through Seattle on a trip and trying to kill time waiting for dinner with relatives, I came across Marrakesh Leather at Pike Place. I explained what I was looking for and while they don't sell the loop, they immediately offered to make one! I received a great repair piece for my belt and they refused to take any money for it! Next time, I'll be buying some of their wonderful stuff. In the meantime, you should support them.

Murali K.

Yelp
Being an overweight guy, I have always had to wear belts. I used to buy and wear out at least one belt per year and had given into it as a fact of my life. I brought a belt from these guys 3 years ago, just because I liked how it seemed unique. I brought two more today just because this is the first belt of mine that has lasted this long. Would definitely recommend. They also have a wide range of leather goods and if they are anywhere close to the quality of my belt, I can wholeheartedly recommend them.

Candace R.

Yelp
Such quality products and superior customer service!! I bought a belt and buckle for my husband while I was on a trip to Seattle and Alaska. I didn't have time to wait while they put the studs in for the buckle and punched the holes in the belt. I was running late for a tour. I paid them and asked if I could come back to pick it up. I neglected to ask what time they closed. When I got back they were closed. I emailed them and they responded quickly the next morning. Morgan mailed the belt to my house in Florida and it beat me home. My husband LOVES his new belt. Thanks Morgan.

Yelp
I 'discovered' Marakesh Leather on my first trip to Seattle and now I make sure to go there anytime I'm in town. Their leather goods are GORGEOUS, but this time I also learned that their customer service is OUTSTANDING. I had bought the wrong size belt for my husband, the error was ENTIRELY MINE. But, when I e-mailed Marakesh Leather, they helped me determine the right size, sent a replacement IMMEDIATELY and included a postage paid envelope, so I could return the wrong one. They spent their time and money correcting MY mistake! Also, I surprised my UC Davis daughter with the cutest belt with a bike motif on it. Seriously, Marakesh Leather has something for everyone.

Yelp
I've bought belts here for more than 10 years. Jan (great guy, a real artist) made a belt for me yesterday on the spot, and repaired an old belt. Belts from department stores or other sources are usually some type of stitched product that fall apart in 1-2 year. Belts from Marakesh leather are solid leather. Period. Beautiful, incredibly durable.

Emily T.

Yelp
Wonderful place! They fixed a belt for me that another leather shop had said they didn't have the equipment to be able to repair. One of few good places to shop for a belt buckle in the city, too.

Katy H.

Yelp
What a little gold mine! My sister was looking for a very specific type of leather good for Xmas and I found four, count 'em, FOUR of these little things she wanted. You know those wallets that come with a flap that has hooks for hanging keys? Yeah - she wanted one of those! We'd gone to antique stores, other leather goods stores, wallet stores, and found nothing. My friend suggested we check out Marakesh and in less than ten minutes we're out the door with exactly what she wanted. In addition to somewhat obscure leather items they also have wallets, bags, pouches, belts, and anything else you can think of that could be made with leather. Now I'm looking for a nice leather satchel. I'll be back!

Yelp
So you see I have a little crack problem. I mean how can you not when you wear low-rise jeans right? It's not just me..... This is why I love working at the market: Whatever I need I can get here. The selection of belts and buckles is awesome....I got one with stars on it....because I'm a Suupahh staaah. The leather is nice and thick and the woman behind the counter cut it to size so that it fits perfectly. Great prices too. Glad I kicked that crack problem cuz I don't wanna to go to rehab....no no no.

Jesse R.

Yelp
I've bought a few belts and buckles here over the years and everyone I've dealt with has been so friendly and helpful. They even trimmed up my belts for me for free when I swapped out buckles later on.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Nice leather. They have a prime spot in the market, right behind the fish throwers. I've walked by for years and finally came here on a mission for a belt. They had a few already made, but I wanted to have one made for the boy. The variety to leather to choose from was nice and a they have a few simple buckles as well as the over-the-top belt buckles. While waiting I debated getting some of their nice bracelets and wallets. They really had a nice stock of items. The only downside was the wait, a wait worth losing a star over. A lot of tourist flow through with questions and giving life stories as they buy a souvenir. I was a tad pissed when I was ignored after waiting 15 minutes for the Griswold family to get the perfect belt. Yeah, I was standing here for my health and I didn't really mean it when I said "I just want a belt, I'll wait". Guess they don't care for locals. But...the belt was worth the annoyance.

Rachel W.

Yelp
Exceptional customer service! My mom lives in Philadelphia and loved a belt that she wished she had bought. I emailed with Morgan about having the belt she saw made, without sizing so that she can be fitted during her next visit. Not only did they make one, but they offered two for me to choose for quality. Above and beyond!

Jasmine R.

Yelp
I love this place, and have been going here for years. The girl who works here is always very helpful, awesome, and patient! Bought a few belts, bracelets, and even a wallet for my dad (he loves it!). Chem em' out!

Stacey T.

Yelp
Seriously. best find EVER! I got a custom made, high-quality leather belt for less than $40. I've been looking for a belt casually for over a year and couldn't find anything online that I could guarantee would fit properly, in stores that was the quality I wanted, or even in specialty leather boutiques that was priced afford-ably. I will never buy a belt from anywhere else ever again.

Tracy K.

Yelp
I bought two belts here recently. They have a bunch of belts to choose from in various colors and widths. First I bought a regular black belt. I wanted a brown one, too, but I wanted it to match my brown boots (which I didn't have that day). I came back another day wearing the boots and found a perfectly matching leather, but not in the width that I wanted. They said they could cut me one in the size I wanted as long as they had enough of the hide. Two days later, my custom brown belt was available. This place has great service and prices. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a leather belt.

David R.

Yelp
Awesome little place at the market. I picked out this reddish/orange belt with a celtic style design. This is the first belt I've owned that fits perfectly! They have many styles of belts to choose from and the basic design belt buckles are thrown in, but if you want a big honkin' cowboy belt buckle they got you covered there too. I know they also sell wallets and other leather goods there, but I really didn't get past looking at the belts. The young gentleman who waited on me was super nice and wasn't pushy about selling me anything. If you're looking for that elusive perfect fitting belt, this is the place.

Yelp
This place is so awesome! I was visiting Pikes Place Market today when I saw this small leather goods boutique. The employee told me it was a family business and he'd been helping since he was a kid. The process was very quick and efficient. I selected the type of leather and buckle I wanted and he worked his leather magic and custom fitted me to a new belt. With the left over leather I asked if he could make me a dog collar for my puppy, he happily made me a matching dog collar for just a few bucks. Great product/price but even better service.

Megan L.

Yelp
I just want to start out by saying these people are so nice and helpful! My father's family is from Seattle and I frequently visit the Seattle area at least 2 times a year. I hadn't gone down to Pike Place Market in YEARS, so when I last visited this past July I thought it would be good to check it out again. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon their leather goods and I am so happy we did. We bought two belts and a leather wristband, great quality and love it all. So naturally when I needed a custom wristband I decided to find Marakesh online. The customer service is AMAZING, I sent an email and received a response in less than an hour. Now my custom wristband is on its way for a special Christmas gift. Needless to say, I am beyond pleased with the service and will be a customer for LIFE! :)

Yelp
Marakesh Leather's beautiful belts are well worth the trip to Pike Place Market. Commercial leather belts typically fail (a) at the buckle, due to "clamp" attachment, where the leather is held only between two metal pieces held by two screws, (b) at the buckle, due to poorly sewn closures that can't take the stress; or, (c) at the tab end, where the belt tears due to inferior leather. You can pay $20 for a cheap commercial belt knowing you will be replacing it in a couple of months. OR You can go to Pike Place, visit Marakesh Leather, and buy a beautiful belt that you can pretty well figure will last you many years, if not a lifetime. Marakesh has a huge selection of belts in multiple colors. You can find them in a (relatively) narrow dress belt, or in a wide casual belt. The patterned belts are works of art. Even the plain belts show the quality of the leather and the care taken in tanning the hide. Marakesh belts are custom-fitted to your waist while you wait, so they fit perfectly. The belts come with your choice of buckle and are attached to the belt with a one- or two-snap loop (meaning they won't fail and the buckle can be changed). Yes, you'll pay between $32-$44 for a Marakesh belt (buckle included). But that is a very reasonable price considering the quality of the product, and it is steal compared to the typical commercial belt you know you will have to buy again . . . and again . . . and again. You will love Marakesh Leather's belts. They're truly beautiful. And the folks who run the stall are super-nice and helpful. Please give them a visit. You won't regret it.

Yelp
A great selection of belts are available, and they're all of incredibly high quality. I used to wear out department store belts within a year or two. I bought my first belt here five years ago, and it's still going strong. Since then I've bought two others that I've been equally satisfied with. Great service, great selection, great value.

Stella L.

Yelp
When I stumbled upon Marrakech leathers I thought this was the perfect souvenir to bring home for my husband - now I think I'm going to have to come back to Seattle just to complete a proper belt collection for myself! I picked a distressed black that shows a hint of natural brown and the shop owner suggested a brass square buckle. I couldn't love it more. The quality of the product is top notch, the price is killer, customer service is perfect, charming and fun, (not to mention easy on the eyes). To the owners: expect to have some orders from Hawaii for me, I'm a fan.

Kaylie F.

Yelp
I was in Pike Place Market yesterday giving an out of town family member the city tour and found Marakesh Leather. They have a large selection of beautiful custom belts. I found a great Seahawks one for my fiance's upcoming birthday. I wasn't 100% sure about the sizing so the woman working (I should have asked her name but I didn't) put some extra holes for me. She was so kind and helpful. I will definitely be coming back.

R.A. L.

Yelp
I love their luggage. I own a beautiful striped velvet lined case that I purchased here last year - it's also a great idea for gifts! Don't forget to ask about what the specials are, they usually have good ones.

Gryphon M.

Yelp
Nice people. Patient. Friendly. Incredibly helpful in fitting a custom made belt and finding buckles (SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM!) that looks great. I bought two belts, three buckles, and one wallet. All of incredibly high quality, still looking brand new 9 months later. I will DEFINITELY be back for gifts and such for friends and family.

dave m.

Yelp
This is a staple of awesome. They hand make all their belts, and they last FOREVER. My last one is pushing 3 years and is still newish.

Rob K.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place in the vast sea of merchants in Pikes Place Market. They have a great selection of hand made leather goods including belts, wallets, and wrist bands. The quality of the leather is awesome, and the guy who works there is super friendly. I picked up a really nice wrist band there, but it wouldn't fit, so he adjusted it for me and it fits perfectly. The prices are decent too.

Colin D.

Yelp
Love me some custom belts! It's fantastic to have a belt punched to your waist size, they do it well here. I prefer the solid leather variety but they have plenty of selection ranging from hip to downright ugly. Pro tip: bring your belt back if it becomes too loose after that diet kicks in, they will take it in free of charge.. I'll never buy a belt off the rack again.

Laura U.

Yelp
In the past i have picked up leather work from them. So they were the first people i thought of when i needed some simple straps fabricated for an instrument. I went down and was brushed off by their person and rudely told that, 'They were the only people i can think of in town who could do the work your asking for and your business was not worth our time' After that they will never have my business again. I will also make a point of directing friends, family and visitors away from them.

Joanne D.

Yelp
I bought a beautifully hand-tooled leather belt and buckle. The woman who runs the booth is exceptionally friendly, skilled, efficient, and knowledgeable. The belt is of sturdy quality, and she fitted it with my buckle in a flash. This stall is well worth seeking out in the market.

Lynda W.

Yelp
I am a big cheeseball and made my friend take me to Pikes Place for a touristy day but was pleasantly surprised to have a wonderful time there. We stumbled upon this stall just off to the side of the famous fish throwers and while I didn't need anything, I ended up buying 2 wrist wraps. First off, I saw some things that were very close to my taste and when I pointed them out and asked if they had this but in that color they made me exactly what I wanted. I was just getting 1 when after walking away I realized, 'what am I doing?' I love this and want another color and for the price, you couldn't beat it anywhere. So yes, this family run business is not only accommodating, they have great products that are made by them but they are also amazingly charming. The daughter is very sweet and has a smile that could sell ice to eskimos, the son is also extremely charming and could probably sell anything to anyone. Then the patriarch showed up and I had a lovely chat with him too which culminated in a quote by him of The Police (the band, not the civil servants) whom I love. So, I know I'm gushing but if you are at Pikes Place, do yourself a favor and stop in.
