I expected more of this legendary club but it was still pretty, the part that let me down was the audio, I thought it was gonna be fire but didnt think so. Great space tho.

Google
Had the greatest night on my birthday. The staff was awesome and the management was so good. We talked to Ash and she was so welcoming and helpful. Definetly telling my friends to come. Jordan was there and super helpful as well.

Ernesto Corral

Google
Went for a storytelling event. Bartender who served me had an attitude - unfortunately, that mood transferred onto my drink, and it's perhaps the worst drink I've ever had. The storytelling was great, but the service and lack of quality left much to be desired.

ralkia

Google
$20 door fee for the event I was at, $15 for 2 shots of vodka, and another $20 for no reason just because they felt like it. Pretty lame

Jake Wible

Google
Marble bar is not the problem. The DJ they picked for Friday March 7th 2025 was. DJ played cringy video game sounding songs and didn’t even bother to transition the songs. Place was empty.

Mike

Google
World famous techno club in Detroit. They don't serve food but I've had some great pop-up food there.

Vishwa Rohera

Google
Amazing vibes all around. Soundsystem should be the #1 priority for a music-centered space, these guys did just that Just a few logistical issues as the bathroom line intervenes directly with the dancing crowd for the inside room. That's my only complaint really, other than that it's a must visit if you're in Detroit and looking for top notch music & vibes

Matt

Google
Awesome place for techno/house late night fun!

Yelp
I visited Marble Bar to attend a Moth Story Slam. This is a very nice venue for that. There is a very long bar on the right wall as you enter. The stage is straight ahead. The acoustics were fine. The staff was friendly. There was no air conditioning . There were fans. At intermission they opened the doors and the place cooled down. Marble is on Trumbull and Holden. The neighborhood has been cleaned up . Parking is on street . The area seems safe.

Yelp
Always a great time! Recently saw Derrick Carter and Bloody Mary here. The bartenders are great, they book amazing DJs, over good vibe.

Yelp
Best bar in Detroit Great staff Great music Have attended many parties and live music events here. Please check out this gem and have fun

Emmaline S.

Yelp
incredible place. hottest staff, they're so funny, they care so much about you getting great service.... i would love to work here if i lived in detroit!

Yelp
I travel a lot for business and leisure. I ordered two drinks for my fiancé and I on just supporting a business on Jamaican Night-- we got charged $4 for a bottle of water lol. Hey, I guess.

M J.

Yelp
had a lot of fun. good atmosphere and music. bouncer in cowboy hat was rude to me and my friends :c
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
Bartenders worked hard to keep your drinks filled. Crowd was young and old, great mix. Love the different sections including an open space outside
google avatar

Patrick B.

Yelp
I haven't been here but it seems nice. I'll change this to 5 stars if you bring back the old logo.
google avatar

Elmer G.

Yelp
Fun place , been coming for some years now. That all changed when I found a PEEPHOLE in the bathroom and someone peeping in on me while I was doing bathroom things!!! Make sure you guys check twice before using the upstairs bathroom. There is a broom closet right next to the bathroom that has a rip in the wall specifically to peep in on the bathroom. DISGUSTING CREEPS.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
The other reviewers are totally right about the low stage. I'm 5'2" and very grateful to the tall gentleman at the front for letting me stand in front of him, even though he probably got in line early and waited for hours to see his favorite band. Either don't be short, or get there early to get a close spot if you want to see more than the tops of the heads of the guitarist and bass player. The place looks nice inside and is surrounded by a currently unfortunate neighborhood, but if I know my Detroit, it will be the newly gentrified hipster center within a year or two... The sound system was fantastic and the bands all sounded great. There is no "back stage" to get to from the stage itself, so there's an awkward moment at the end of shows where the band has to "excuse me" themselves through the crowd to get out of the main room, but the whole set up makes for a pretty intimate experience for the concert goer. We were not in a drinky mood so I can't comment on the bar or it's wares other than to say the staff all seemed very nice and no fights broke out among staffers and patrons while we were there, lol.

Yelp
Marble Bar books good talent. For this reason alone I love Marble Bar. The patio is a major bonus too.
google avatar

Tammy Y.

Yelp
Great spot for dancing. Inclusive of all walks of life. The outdoor patio was entrancing with rotating disco SKULL (not a ball). Wow! Awesome djs, good drinks. Dancing goes well after 2am. But FYI- The neighborhood seems a little sketch late at night. (My only gripe is that they have just 3 toilets. Not good for people who like to drink and dance.)
google avatar

Allison F.

Yelp
If you are weird or enjoy weird people, this is the bar for you. Marble Bar hosts grand space and one of the biggest disco balls I've ever seen. The bartenders are always chill and welcoming. Beer and cocktail prices are pretty fair. They host a lot of concerts and events, so there may be a cover charge. There's a mezzanine upstairs you can escape to for some privacy or prime people watching. I love their backyard patio... you'll find the most eclectic mix of people out there. I hate to use the word, but this is 100% a hipster bar, but I mean that in a good way. Everyone is welcoming but way too cool for a normal bar. That's what Marble Bar is... a normal bar for weird people.

Yelp
We ventured out for a fun night in the city. Located in a downtown neighborhood, I was surprised to see such a hopping location for a bar/dance club. I was impressed with the diversity of the crowd and the DJ's played unique mixes all night long. This bar has two separate dance floors filled with the most modern beats of the city. The bartenders are awesome....overall, a great spot to hang out and dance the night away!
google avatar

Yelp
Hip bar that offers an assortment of events in New Center. Marble Bar is a very cool venue and bar that hosts a variety of events. On weekends they typically have live music or a DJ, and during the week you may catch a food truck event, the Moth or a band. Unlike some bars Marble will have a very different turn out depending on what event is happening. I definitely recommend checking out their Facebook page before you go to see how many people are attending. I've been in on a random Saturday night and there were maybe 15 people in the whole place (and they were still charging a cover!) They also sell out of tickets for many things, so buy in advance if you can. Quick note: -The bathroom situation is not ideal. Go before you get there if you can to avoid the bathroom line.

Robert K.

Yelp
Had to comment on some of the corny people doing reviews on here. This is Detroit. Epicenter of the DJ World. You do not ask the DJ spinning at venue's like this for requests. Did you see a cd mixer? A beat counter? No dummy, they are on vinyl, and they have real skills. How corny and out of touch do you have to be to ask Dan Bain to play some 80's or 90's music? Dummy, he likely did but it went over your head. Stay in the suburbs dork. This is what happens when basic corny white people show up in an authentic venue. This is one of the best places to here real music and see real DJ's. If you do not understand techno or house, are closed minded, or think you know what music should be played over World famous professionals, stay away.
google avatar

Dawn S.

Yelp
Came here last night for their House Party event. We had the best time. We are not the typical demographic, being older (50's) suburbanites. But, no one looked sideways, nor treated us any differently than any of the other lovers of great music. They were packed to the gills, but not a "meat market"atmosphere. I was blown away by the talent of the DJs. It's great to have a place to come to, to hear originality. This place is a gem.
google avatar

Tony H.

Yelp
First time here and I gotta admit I was a little skeptical driving in. The neighborhood had a serious Mad Max vibe to it. That all changed when I walked in though. The bar is splendid great vibe and booze selection. The beer choices are good too. Nothing that blew my mind, enough choices for a dopey beer snob like myself though. We were there for a concert and the sound was great but do yourself a favor and check out the patio. Hammocks, great mood lighting and a giant disco ball skull? Yes please I'll for sure be back

Angie L.

Yelp
We went here (a group of 10) on a Wed and asked the DJ, Dan Bain, several times that we wanted to hear 80's or 90's and he never played anything close to the tenges. In fact, the DJ, Dan Bain, acknowledged me 4x of my requests and he played whatever he wanted. Sans no one dancing on the dance floor. I do not ever Yelp bc I'm low maintenance, but I was highly unsatisfied with this guy that had no clue about customer wants or needs. He could gives 2 F's while he was drinking his beers dj'ing . He sucks big time. Bianca is awesome. Please don't take my reflection of the inadequate DJ of her. P

Yelp
Came here for my Birthday with some friends last night. I had the most amazing time! Such a diverse atmosphere with big energy. Good music and loved that they have the heated patio. If you re looking for a good night out in Detroit, this is it!
google avatar

Jacob F.

Yelp
Driving up, I'm like, "Umm are you sure this is the place??" The neighborhood is just a bit sketch, but the security guard watching over the parking areas did make me feel a little more comfortable. I've been a few times now, and it's funny that it seems like Marble Bar is either empty or packed. It's still a good place on quiet nights, but when it's busy it's a really fun crowd. Very diverse depending on the entertainment, and hipster without feeling elitist. Just a warm, unpretentious feel. The main floor is great for dancing, or just people watching from the bar. The mezzanine overlooks the lower level and is a really fun space to sit and relax without getting too far from the action - definitely check it out. Then there's the large fenced-in patio, which is incredible! If it's a good night, you might even find another DJ and bar out there. Drinks are very reasonable, and the bartenders range from tolerable to downright pleasant. No complaints here. Cover jumps up to $10 when you get there later, which I feel is silly given the location and the vibe of the place. But show up a little earlier and you can get in for $3-5 and have a night of fun.

The Critic C.

Yelp
Granted I went for a Thrash Metal show, and it's not this places usual thing... Sound was great, floor was awesome and the place is clean. Bar was cheap and the staff including bouncers were excellent. What more could you want? 10/10
google avatar

Scott Z.

Yelp
Former site of a gay leather bar has been reinvented as a millennial hipster bar. I like to imagine that ghosts of sadists past roam the bathrooms. Surrounding neighborhood has that post-apocalyptic dystopian vibe that reminds me of the Detroit I lived in before Midtown got the neighborhood empowerment zone property tax credit, bike lanes & Whole Foods. Inside feels like an episode of HBO's Girls, and it's a later-season The Walking Dead episode outside. Great venue for Moth Story Slam events.
google avatar

Jackie M.

Yelp
Gorgeous and spacious atmosphere with detailed woodwork and marble. Had a pisco sour, sloe gin with brandied cherries & a delicious vanilla nitro porter. The restrooms are clean and tasteful like the rest of the bar. There's a large back patio that often hosts a food truck. Really impressed with Marble Bar & highly recommend.
google avatar

rae d.

Yelp
Best Old Fashioned even if they skip the cherry. The music here is always jumping and their indoor/outdoor patio allows comfort year round! Be sure to check out the monthlu Soul Stomp! Fun ×10

Alex P.

Yelp
You absolutely have to try the cheese! It's not on the menu but if you ask at the bar they make the most amazing "Marble Cheese". Had a great time here Dancing on the patio.
google avatar

Shawn F.

Yelp
Good oasis on the middle of a impoverish community. The show are good priced and the people are good.
google avatar

Luis O.

Yelp
The fact that I can drink Yippee Ki-Yay while listening to great music, dancing under a skull disco ball makes this place worthy of 5 stars.
google avatar

Kristin A.

Yelp
Exciting new music venue!! Lowkey local bar, awesome undiscovered "underground" vibes. Take a walk off the beaten path and stop by the Marble Bar for a night of revelry and music. After being neglected for quite a while, this ramshackle building at the corner of Holden and Trumbull Street has been transformed into a live music venue that draws in crowds of patrons in the know. The venue hosts local and touring musicians, including the likes of Liturgy, Ceremony and Tony Molina. While its demure size and stature mean that few are aware of its existence, it is precisely these qualities that add to its appeal and leave its patrons with the beguiling impression that they are the chosen few who are fortunate to know of this treasured secret.
google avatar

Maggie S.

Yelp
This is a really groovy place. I've seen a few gigs here and had such an awesome experience every time. The bar is huge and easily accessible, drinks are pretty darn reasonably priced, and the folks at the door are friendly while still making sure people coming in have their act together. Kind of a sketchy neighborhood so I don't recommend going it alone, but the interior is cavernous and cozy at the same time and there are bouncers keeping an eye out pretty much everywhere.

Ana H.

Yelp
this is the only place which reminds me of my own country nightlife. best place so far. in detroit!! music is awsomeeee!!! not that crappy rnb or papsa. amazing deep house or electronic. safe area to go. always crowded. and good is that its not crowded with kids. the only suggestion will be polease bring some dj from europe like maceo plex. or acid pauli. or max cooper. or kiasmos sebastien ledger. dha am. daniel bortz. soul casule prod. solomun. inigo kennedy. etc etc etc.... great artists. and do some boiler room.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Went to Marble Bar last night for my girlfriends 30th...heard such great things about it but I will never go again. Paid $30 a person around 1:59 am and then was denied service at the bar because it was 2:01 and they were no longer serving alcohol. I don't understand how this is marketed as an after hours bar when they don't serve after hours...my friends and I paid $120 to walk around for five minutes and leave. It's supposed to be the last underdeveloped area in Detroit; all I saw there were white people rolling on various drugs and smelling of B.O. Would give it zero stars if I could. I tried finding a manager to talk to for a refund and no one took me seriously.
google avatar

Alize A.

Yelp
Full disclaimer: Here to work a event, however I'm sure I'll be back. Beautiful space, feels open and airy. Great selection and excellent happy hour menu, good amount of seating and dance/standing space. Friendly bar staff, definitely a hipster vibe.
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
This will be a great bar as soon as they get a better selection of booze, improve their actual drink menu, maybe get some good djs to agree to residencies, and of course, STOP CHARGING MY CREDIT/DEBIT CARD TWICE WITH RANDOM AND INCONSISTENT AMOUNTS EVERY SINGLE TIME I VISIT. This is ridiculously shady and inconvenient, seeing as though ZERO other bars in the area do this. I currently have a second charge for $19 from 12/25 that is still pending on 12/30, while the first charge of $45 from the same day has already cleared. Why are the amounts so different and why would these not charges not reconcile at the same time? If the $19 is not returned to my account soon, I will never go back. I won't fight for $19 but I will never give a place that lets erroneous charges go through an opportunity to steal from me again.
google avatar

Monica D.

Yelp
As a med student at Wayne who goes out at least every other weekend in Detroit- I would give this bar 0 stars if I could. This bar is not woman-friendly. My friend, a 21 year old young woman, was assaulted by one of the bartenders' boyfriends. She laughed as her 200+ pound boyfriend slapped my friends' phone out of her hand, shattering it. My friends and I protested, attempting to call the police as he had caused a minimum of $100 in damage as well as slashing her entire arm open a broken piece of her iPhone's glass. When we protested and dialed the cops to report the assault, our phones were slapped out of our hands. As young women, we hope to be protected by the staff at a bar or club, but were hopelessly let down by the staff at Marble Bar. We were disappointed and hurt by the staff, including the female staff. Terrible club- we will be attending nicer, classier venues in Detroit such as Legends, or Exodus. Thank you Legends and Exodus for your protection and professionalism!
google avatar

Brooke J.

Yelp
Came here for a Sunday show/event. Truly located in the heart of REAL Detroit. Beautiful, huge space with a giant bar. Friendly bartender made us feel welcome. Not only is the inside of this bar glorious, but there is a huge patio area where they had vendors, music, food, and seating. This place is nice because it feels like a secret, a diamond in the rough. I felt like I had died and gone to punk rock heaven. Can't wait to visit again.
google avatar

Andrea B.

Yelp
This is a friendly bar with a diverse crowd. Acoustics are excellent. It is a huge epicenter for the The Electronic Music Festival. I think last year they were open 3 days straight. Wish they had food, but on busy nights they do bring in pop-up chefs who prepare some very good fare at reasonable prices. The upstairs balcony is a perfect spot for work parties or meeting friends, bring your own food and decorations, the owners are chill. Now that the back patio has been expanded, you can choose between outdoor dancing (often with a second bar open out there as well) or inside dark and safe from the elements. Their Motown Soul Stomp and Caribbean Night are huge, fun, and friendly you won't want to miss it.
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
Excellent place to go dancing to some of the best techno in the city. Great bar, awesome crowd, very chill vibe. Nice outdoor patio. Hopefully the surrounding area picks up. My only negative thing about it is not enough bathrooms. If they add a couple more or expanded it, then I'd have no complaints.
google avatar

Rae A.

Yelp
Like all the other review said, the location is sketchy as hell. But its a pretty diverse crowd and decent drinks. I went for the monthly Story Slam..aka The Moth. It was a well run event. Seating was tight and we found parking in the lot across the street. The bartenders were friendly, all in all no complaints. Check it out

Brandon B.

Yelp
So I have to give the marble bar 2 stars solely based on the misleading reviews. I'll give it that extra star cuz the area it's in desperately needs more bars or places to hang out. When I hear/read the term "hipster" I just automatically think of a low key neighborhood dive bar. I don't identify as a hipster and rarely associate with that crowd but, From popping in there tonight that's not what it was at all. It was basically a wannabe dance club. Maybe things changed since some those reviews were written, maybe I went in on the wrong night. Though, the door guy said they have djs every night. I live like 15 mins walking distance from this place and it's great to see that something is there. But, my Advice to the marble bar is to please turn this into a neighborhood bar. That's what this area desperately needs. Sure have your djs on the weekend to entice the dancing crowd to come out, I prefer, solid rock bands but, whatever. Give the area a place to corroborate even during the day. Don't open your doors at 9pm and get a website. There's a lot of young/pseudo-young students and professionals in the area that could take advantage of the establishment if it offered extended hours. I'll give this place another shot, maybe on a weekday. The door people I encountered were personable. I won't be paying a cover charge for some shitty Dj, if in fact that is what's going on here. So, caution, to anyone that reads these reviews it's not a "dive bar" in a sense, it's more of a dance club.

Kal H.

Yelp
This is a perfect little spot to dance the night away with friends! Checked out the #hautetodeath event this weekend! And jerk"n" jollof a few years back. There was a/c flowing on the in the venue so I wasn't worried about my makeup melting off while I was tearing up the dance floor! the drinks are perfect and they maintain a steady flow so your not waiting forever for a drink. Now the restroom wait has the potential to get a little long because facilities are limited but other than that it come with the right friends and this is a be good time! P.s. parking is on the street and the neighborhood isn't that well lit. prepare accordingly.
google avatar

Julia K.

Yelp
This venue is beautiful! Drinks are strong, sound was good, and the bartenders were quick. Surrounding area is a little sketch but there was plenty of parking.

Bob H.

Yelp
Best place for House music we've found in Detroit. Professional staff and great dj's. Had an amazing time

Kelley K.

Yelp
Ordered a burger and it came out red. Ordered a hot dog and it was ICE COLD. The food is not consistent. the lady cooking asked if I have ever been served by a "professional" cook. There were no options to the level of cooked burger and when asked for the burger to be cooked longer we were told No. They, subsequently, kicked our friend out for standing up against this under cooked food for over 7 people, who paid. The staff, on top, were extremely rude and suggested we leave. To consider yourself a professional cook is one thing, to several a cooked burger is another and doesn't require "professional" skill. Your business plan is overwhelming for your own good and Over extending to people that don't know better. You easily gave 2/3 of your crows diarrhea if they're lucky. Start with the music and then add food when you're professionally stable and can handle the basic health code obligations of any business in Detroit. TO END THIS, we Were told we could not return it for just a bag of chips instead. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND UNSAFW TO EAT. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!!!!! THEY SERVE COLD HOT DOGS AND RAW BEEF AS BURGERS!!! Do not come here!!!!
google avatar

G X.

Yelp
Great service, excellent bartender Dan, well crafted cocktails - gorgeous interior more bathrooms than they will ever need cool place to chill and listen to great music. I am impressed.
google avatar

Rick W.

Yelp
Great joint to see a live jam. Saw Timmy's Organism here in the middle of a Detroit winter. Drinks are reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Big bar, small stage equals yes.

Seth P.

Yelp
Great bar, great venue, great staff! Was in town for only a few days but they made me feel at home.

Steve S.

Yelp
My friend got way too drunk here because they way over served him. I ordered him a lift...and told the girl at the front that I was taking him outside to his uber and she said ''ok''and I was outside for about 4 minutes and went to get back in and said she'd only let me in if I had $10 cash. What's that about? That's fucked up. I left and screw this place.
google avatar

Jim I.

Yelp
Hipsters who can tear themselves away from the lighted parking lots of Midtown will dig this place. Huge dance floor and they book very danceable bands. Beer list isn't encyclopedic but less can be more. Interesting drinks and very affordable during happy hour. Drink up.
