It’s been quite a few years since we bought a marble slab ice cream cake. We typically buy the one from downtown. Since we leave nearby woodruff rd, we decided to get one for my son’s birthday. The cake’s look was a disappointment. This isn’t our first time getting the strawberry shortcake. Usually there are fresh strawberries but this time it’s like strawberry jam. Even the picture on the website has fresh strawberries. The taste is fine but we wish the cake looked more presentable. The cake already looked like this when my husband came home and we live 5 mins down the road, it couldn’t have possibly melted that quick.

I placed an order for a cookie cake a week prior to my son’s graduation party. I couldn’t design the cake how I wanted with the options given to order online. I went in the store and placed my order with Dee…. Fast forward to picking up the cake this morning when the store opened at 11am. Upon Dee showing me the cake I told her the cake was NOT supposed to have a diploma on it. (I only wanted my son’s name centered at the bottom of the cake) Dee’s response was…”it’s extra icing”. As being a business owner myself, I would never allow a customer to be unsatisfied. Very unprofessional. Do not recommend.

I visited Marble Slab/Great American Cookie, to get a strawberry milk shake. The store was clean and the service was fast and friendly. I had to get some cookies since I was there. Chocolate chip, sugar cookies, peanut butter and snicker doodle were my choice of cookies. The strawberry shake was really good. I’ll be back the next time I’m in this neck of the woods to try the strawberry short cake sundae.

Amazing customer service. An employee named Daniel went above and beyond with my order. The ice cream was delicious.

I love Great American Cookie Company cookies so the cookies are good but not my favorite with the ice cream. Staff is usually young teens but always helpful and nice. The outside is definitely the best place to sit while enjoying your treat but the price of everything is kind of ridiculous. This is a every now and then type place. For my husband, me, and our 2 kids, we spent $30. Would recommend for the cookies!

This was a big disappointment. First of all the trash needed to be taken out so the whole time while waiting in line that is all we could smell. Second of all the ice cream was some of the worst I have ever eaten. My son ordered a milkshake and it tasted like milk. It was so watery and lacked any flavor. I got a cookie surprise and the ice cream was so sweet I couldn't even taste the cookies or chocolate syrup. My husband got the mango and that tasted like pure ice and left the nastiest strangest taste in your mouth. My advice is if you want ice cream pick somewhere else, ANYWHERE else but here. DONT waste your money like we did.

Google
Nice friendly service. The store was clean. Only 4 star experience because the the ice cream was really soft. I don't think they left it on the slab long enough.

Yelp
I have so tried to like this place. I've been several times and it's more convenient. But, the service is snail slow. On this visit I counted five employees. One (1) yes only one young man was serving ice cream to a line 6-7 people long. Not only was he serving the ice cream, he was also doing the checkout. Based on what I could see, the other four employees were simply idling. If you see more than one person in line when you drive up, my advice; 1. drive on unless you have plenty of time and don't mind waiting 20-25 minutes, or 2. Drive up to Cold Stone. It's a better place and you can be in and out in the time it takes to cash-out at this spot. The owner needs to instill a customer focused mindset in the shops youthful employees. In essence "Customers are our number one priority. Any other task or activity is secondary. If customers are waiting in line, drop what you are doing and join in to greet and be of direct service to them".

Yelp
If you've ever been to a marble slab, this one will disappoint you. The taste is good, it's a marble slab but it's below par. I orders 2 kids ice creams with mix ins. The picture was sweet cream with strawberry mixed in... the strawberry was not "mixed in" at all. So I paid $10+ for two kids ice creams and got a bowl of whole strawberries. This isn't a one time complaint though. I've been several times and it's never a good experience. I've ordered cookie cakes twice with bad art as well. Maybe I'm just spoiled from the marble slab use to go to in my hometown.

Yelp
All ice cream was melted, got a sundae - brownies were stale and dry, service was okay

Yelp
I was a very big fan of marble slab and Great American cookies. Until I came here, my experience was not the best experience. At the other marble slabs I've been too I always got welcomed in! This time I didn't! The service was very slow, the workers seemed like they had no clue of what's going on! I asked if I could get a oatmeal raisin cookie, the young lady behind the counter had to asked the customer(me) where it is! I then decided to get ice cream while realizing the flavor I wanted was not there. Asking the lady behind the counter if there was any in the back, while proceeding to the back, asking a coworker about it. Then they didn't know. So I couldn't get my favorite flavor. I was very disappointed. I was already not having a great day! Until I came here made it worse. I would rather drive a few more miles to a cold stone then this place!

Yelp
Very noisy so this is more for kids than adults. You go in, choose your base, then all the add-ins are extra and expensive. They also have cookies from regular size to table size that you can have iced into whatever message you want. Servings are huge so go for a small.

Yelp
This ice cream was disgusting, I took about two bites and my stomach was turning. While ordering the ice cream, literally mid sentence of ordering, the owner of the store came in and started screaming at the teenage employee. She completely interrupted us, yelled at her employee about an ice cream cake order, then left. I thought I was on wwyd. They had no marshmallow syrup that is literally in just about every flavor creation, and couldn't suggest a substitute. It's a cold stone wanna be with cold stone prices, but disgusting ice cream, horrible service, and didn't look clean. Check out their Google reviews, you'll hear all about the new owner!

Yelp
Marble Slab had four sizes but the kid's cup pricing was not listed on the menu. So, before ordering, I asked the scooper guy the price of a kid's cup. He said $2. At the register, the cashier rang me up for $4.79 per kid's cup (140% more than the scooper guy said). I pointed out to the cashier that this was *significantly* more than the guy said. She didn't even apologize or seem to care. I said it was ridiculous to pay $15 for three baby scoops of ice cream. The scooper guy came over and said, "yea, it's expensive here." They didn't discount it or offer a free size upgrade or anything. Dear manager, you get a bad Yelp review when your customer talks to your workers, points out the problem, and doesn't get a reasonable resolution. It's bad enough to pay $15 in exchange for the equivalent of $1 of ice cream and 3 minutes of your labor (worth $1)? But to not get an apology when we were given erroneous information? This is one of the the most frustrating experiences we have had in a long while. Be better please. Train your workers better, update your menu to show the kid's cup prices, and teach your workers to make it right when they screw up.

Yelp
Never ever a disappointment. The kids love it l my husband and i love it. The coffee flavor is always my go-to the boys a lot of these birthday cake in and the hubs always gets peanut butter. The staff is super fun and super attentive. Love the energy in that shop!! no matter what day or what time we go in or always greeted with happy smiling faces. So glad they came to the Five forks area!!

Yelp
Yummy ice cream concoctions and cookies for our dairy sensitive guest. I want to go back and try the over the top milkshakes. Service was prompt and friendly and the place is spotless. There's seating inside and out.

Yelp
When is it so bad that someone doesn't want to finish their ice cream? Or when THREE someone's don't want to finish their ice cream? This place! Foreign material left on the slab; I HATE raspberry mixed into my ice cream, but it was there. Person with me found ice cream to be flat. My chocolate was powdery. Friends not-crushed walnuts were too acidic, and Oreos soggy/stale. Worse, the staff were "sharing" the same tiny spot on the very dirty slab, and so service was slow. Very SLOOOOW. I realize one can't expect three teenage girls to be awesome, but could ONE of them be "good" one a Friday night? Yeah, the line was long, nearly out the door, so we'd anticipated good service and great ice cream. So much for anticipation, replaced with disappointment. Coldstone is SO much better

Yelp
Cookies are good & so is the ice cream but the service always leaves something to be desired. Usually seems to be young teens working every time I visit but they still should be able to maintain a level of integrity and friendliness even as children. On my last visit I asked if they had a certain type of cookies and was told no even though the trays of freshly baked cookies were within a few feet of the empty case. She even walked over to the trays and said "nope don't see any." I told her I'd think it over for a second and when the next employee came up I told him I was ready to order. When I told him I really came for this specific cookie he immediately walked over to the fresh baked cookies and found what I had asked for and even made it a point to pull the rest of my order off the trays as well. I would give one star if it wasn't for the employee making it right and the fresh cookies. $22 for 13 cookies, the least you could do is your job.

Yelp
The staff was very nice. They all greeted us. While we were being helped by a gentleman, the manager yelled from across the store for him to go work in the other side of the store. He went over and was sent to the back. The other workers were busy with other customers while the manager stares from behind the glass. You can tell that they are all scared of the owner/manager. No wonder they have so many "hiring" signs

Yelp
Delicious! I had never had the Very Yellow Marshmallow flavor before but it's delicious! Tastes exactly like cold marshmallow creme...just creamier!

Yelp
Disappointed that the young lady making my cup wasn't wearing gloves. I did get a cup and it was delicious, chocolate extreme.
