The Best Takeout Options From Long-Standing Montreal Food Counters | Eater Montreal

"Marché Andes’ prepared food counter has daily specials for takeout covering Central and South American cuisines, including Colombian, Bolivian, and Chilean style empanadas, and Peruvian and Salvadoran tamales and pupusas. Hearty soups from the region (mondongo tripe or sancocho) round out the menu. All specials include rice, beans, and choice of salad, and are hearty enough to see most people through more than one meal." - Ivy Lerner-Frank

16 Top Restaurants for Affordable Latin American Food in Montreal - Eater Montreal

"Open since 1984, Sabor Latino is part restaurant, part grocery store — but don’t let that deter you from coming in for a full meal. The chorizo and al pastor tacos come in sets of four and are some of the best in the city, full-stop. The guacamole is excellent, there’s tamales from all over Latin America, and combo platters of stewed meat with rice and beans. With a mango Jarritos to wash it all down, you’re still looking at under $15 for a meal. For dessert, try the dulce de leche-filled churros or the conchas, which are just like those in Mexico. Now with bigger digs on St-Hubert and Bélanger." - Dahlia Snaiderman, Daniel Bromberg

Owned by the sweetest family, the food here honours latin heritage is one of the most authentic places I have ordered from. We placed a large private order and they went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. Everything was fresh and hand made with love there is no question. Will be ordering again! Thank you so much!

Authentic latin-American food to go or to eat there if tables are available. Used to be cheap and generous in portions but prices have increased post -COVID. 1 Peruvian chicken tamal (smaller than usual) with a small glass of mora juice: $15. Favorite place (on Belanger) for arepas and pupusas grilled as you order.

A nice assortment of products from Latin America. Nicely organized. Very nice service.

This is a super market with a section for a restaurant, they have many Latin American dishes from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Venezuela and Colombia. The prices are a bit steep, I find for a very informal place, they charge you 20 cents for a paper bag, even though I spend over a 100 dollars worth of food, I bought a plate to eat there and there is no tortilla that comes with their dishes, even though they are Latin American dishes, if you order tortilla, the Mexican style, you get two for 60 cents. The food is delicious and the portions are generous.

Great Latino American grocery store. This location includes an actual dine in or takeout place too. Split between butcher, grocery and restaurant sections. Nice finds in every category and fresh baked goods too! Friendly staff.

We went in, mostly for the grocery store, as we were looking for a specific type of spice. there’s quite a good selection, but they didn’t necessarily have what we were looking for. At times the hallways felt very narrow.. the cashiers were quite helpful in answering our questions. We didn’t realize that there was a restaurant inside and perhaps during our next visit we will give it a try.

We ordered 2 pupusas for 4,50$ each at counter. Freshly made in front of us. Restaurant conveniently placed inside a latin American grocery store.

Price is decent and the food is good! Not a crazy amazing experience, but will pass by if I’m around and am craving some Latin American dishes. I had the mole tamales- not too bad good mole sauce with soft masa it was yummy, chicken pozole - soup wasn’t that good and the chicken was dry so subpar. Bandeja paisa was delicious, the meats were succulent, and the plantains were soft and fruity. Me and my friend ended the meal with some dulce de leche churros and paid about $40 for all of that.

Yelp
The empanadas are good and I like the vibe of the place. The staff speak Spanish with me straight away and are friendly. I haven't gone to the grocery section yet but it seems well stocked from a distance.
