The Best Central Asian and Middle Eastern Kebabs in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"This Afghan supermarket in Greenfield Park has two small tables for in-house dining and a lively takeout and delivery business driven by its specialty: kebabs. A glass display case near the store entrance is laden with minced meat shaped on traditional flat skewers. The tables provide a vantage point to watch the grillmaster at work while enjoying a hot shami kebab either in pita bread or accompanied by mounds of raisin and carrot-flecked Kabuli rice. Wander around the store to find different halal meat cuts, yogurt drinks, and spice mixes, and peer through the glass window at the back to see bakery workers producing the long, rectangular Afghan naan bread (in regular or whole wheat iterations) dotted with nigella and sesame seeds." - Ivy Lerner-Frank

This place is a gem on south shore. Their sandwiches really impressed me (we took the teeka and the kafta). I had one piece of fried chicken and it was spot on.

What a place. Prices are decent. The marinated lamb is delicious. Parking is the only issue as it is limited. There food for take out prices are very reasonable. We haven't ordered anything yet, but will do an update then.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is the most beautiful store I’ve ever been to! After moving to the South Shore, it quickly became our go-to place for all our daily shopping. The store is always super clean, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the food is consistently fresh. Shopping here is always a great experience!

It's a really good store, to buy halal products but one should be careful of what they sell in the store because their are products that are not halal being sold in Ariya such as cheetos that uses cow rennet in their cheese flavor.

A great supermarket for halal food, as well as produce, foreign snacks and even a home decor section. There is a restaurant in the back that had great doner wraps and rice!

The cashier had a dry, unfriendly, and unwelcoming expression, and was also a liar. I asked if the Turkish baklava was made today, and she assured me it was freshly made. Unfortunately, I trusted her and bought half a kilo, but when I tried them, they were very dry and clearly not fresh at all. I ended up throwing them away. Very disappointing experience!

Yelp
I have passed by this store plenty of times and never bothered to walk in. Oh I am glad I did. This store also has a sit down restaurant. The meat is cooked to order. I ordered the half chicken/beef platter. As the gentleman was cooking the meat, I could smell the Afghan spices in the air. Ouuuuu ahhhhh! The lady at the counter was very kind. This is my first time trying afghan food and she let me try they different rice they had. I picked the onw that had beef chunks and raisins. Who knew that combination would rock my socks. I also ordered samosas as a side. They are smaller than the Indian samosas but filled with yummy spices. I could have eaten 10 of them. As I was about to leave mango nectar. I thought I would have seconds but ended up eating the whole plate. I will be coming back!

Yelp
Newly renovated supermarket that offers middle eastern/afghani/iranian and a range of foods, from ready made meals, fresh produce, meat and specialty pastries. There is a small restaurant in the back where you can eat on site or order to take out. We came for the first time over the weekend and were looking for some marinated meats. We tried shish taouk and tandoori flavored chicken breasts, which were amazing for grilling at home over charcoal. The marinated meats were cheaper compared to larger supermarket chains and more flavorful than Adonis for example. The supermarket is inviting, clean, and offers products you wouldn't find elsewhere. Worth a visit if you want to discover something new and appreciate more ethnic cuisines!
