East Side Brunch Destination Marché Won’t Reopen Following Tornado Damage and COVID-19 | Eater Nashville

"I learned via Facebook this week that Marche won’t be reopening: between the double-whammy of a tornado and the COVID-19 pandemic, owner Margot McCormack says they can’t reopen profitably because without 100 percent occupancy and an inability to shift to takeout they would only lose revenue. Marche first opened in 2006, five years after McCormack’s pioneering Margot Cafe, and its lease was set to run out at the end of this year." - Delia Jo Ramsey

I was captivated by the stunning selection at this beautiful lifestyle goods boutique, where each item exudes quality and charm. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, combined with the knowledgeable staff, made my shopping experience truly enjoyable. I left with exquisite pieces that perfectly complement my style, and I can’t wait to return for more!

I got “pretty woman”-d here … and not in a good way. As I admired 2 beautiful olive green mohair chairs and commented on how beautiful they are, the clerk told me how expensive and high end they are. Okay….. (me) are they sold as a pair? (Because we only have space for one chair and one would be perfect in our room.) She responded snootily telling me the price of the chair and how expensive it is. We were then talking about some other stuff and she completely bashed the company we’ve been working with. (Ethan Allen is reputable and have been around for decades, but according to her they are now no good.) I loved the chair and there was also a beautiful lamp that we wanted. We could be on our way home with all of this, but after this treatment I will never buy anything there and will also tell anyone i know not to patronize. It was a “Pretty Woman” moment. Do you work on commissions? Mistake. Big mistake. Marche Home, you’ll never get one penny from us.

Deanna and her wonderful staff have made visits to the country more pleasant than one could ever imagine. Although a quaint shop in sleepy Kennett Square, Marche has incredible relationships with many world-class brands. It ends up operating a design center for local interior designers who don’t make it to market multiple times a year. Deanna brings unique, unexpected finds to a community who greatly appreciates her style, hospitality, and generosity of spirit. She’s helped me with two difficult apartments and they both turned out beautifully.

This is a new store since the last time I visited Kennett Square. I found the owner to be very friendly and excited about her new business. It is a lovely, eclectic shop and will be even better once its interior design studio opens upstairs. It's a nice shop for someone like me looking for bits and pieces that are distinctive to add to my home. I'm looking forward to seeing what they will offer for a whole room/home outlook.

Marché is a boutique with class and style. My go-to shop to find something special for my home or for myself! A unique shop for special gifts too. Kennett is attracting some great shop owners, so thrilled!!

Yelp
My favorite store in Kennett Square! Marché carries the trendiest decor for your home, and the most stylish clothing. I could not recommend this place more! All of the employees are so friendly, and the owner is such a pleasure.
