If you love to go to a place that hasn’t changed and makes you feel like grammas or mom’s kitchen from back in the day, this place hits the spot. I’ve been here a couple of times and it may not be for everyone but it makes me feel all happy inside. It’s just a little tiny place off the side of the road it’s definitely a local spot. Bring a huge appetite or share a dish with someone. The breakfast and lunch choices are delicious old fashioned diner selections. The staff is very friendly and welcoming every time I’ve been. They have stuffed waffles and the original oyster omelette if you’re into that.

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast and was pleasantly impressed. To my surprise they make blintzes, which is my all time favorite breakfast! You can order 1,2, all 3 filled with creamy cream cheese and topped with strawberries or mixed berries. I had 2 with mixed berries and my husband had his usual ham, eggs and hash browns. It’s not a big place but the service was great as well as the food. We will definitely be going back!

Fantastic breakfast spot! Beware of large portions! Yummy breakfast classics, including homemade biscuits with sausage gravy and cheese blintzes! My bacon was cooked to order, crispy as requested, and the servers were efficient and friendly. Definitely recommend!

I’ll start off by saying the parking is horrible, there’s parking in the back but it’s shared with other businesses. The place is realllllyyyy small. Barely room to walk in between tables. I was bumped into a couple times while eating. With that being said, the portions are huge. Pricing is decent. The food give a homey feel and tastes homemade. I got the hamburger steak and hash browns with eggs and a side of gravy, highly recommend. The “short stack” of pancakes are HUGE and delicious. The strawberry lemonade is perfect. Not too sweet not too sour. The ladies working were very nice. When you get there they write your name and number down and call you when a table is ready, we got lucky and only waited 10 mins.

Food would be 5/5 if it had flavor, unfortunately. Cooked well, and no issues with order, but the flavor lacked for the price. My eggs and bacon with loaded hash browns, and coffee totaled about $26 (not including tip) with a 10% discount for paying with cash. Also ordered eggs/bacon with loaded Scottie potatoes. I wish I could say the food was worth the prices, maybe it would be with some flavor added to the eggs/potatoes 👀

Both of the people who work here were extremely kind and friendly. I got their eggs Benedict and it was delicious! The sauce has a lemon hint to it and the ham is thinly sliced which I prefer over thick cut.

I’ve recently started visiting this spot more frequently because of its convenient location near work, and I’m so glad I did. The French Dip has quickly become one of my favorites—first of all, it’s massive! I usually end up eating half and taking the rest home for later. The sandwich itself is perfectly toasted, and the meat-to-bun ratio is spot on, making every bite a satisfying experience. What really sets this place apart, though, is the combination of delicious food, generous portions, and great service. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the size of the portions. The staff is incredibly friendly and approachable, always making you feel like a regular—even if it’s your first time there. I’ll definitely keep choosing this spot for any breakfast, brunch, or lunch cravings—it’s a gem in both quality and atmosphere!

Don't be fooled by the outside, or inside for that matter! The food and service is more like an old school diner. Amazing portions, with a home cooked vibe and taste. The staff seemed to be very happy to serve, even though we arrived an hour before closing! My omelet was stuffed fill of meat and other goodies. I am a self proclaimed food snob, and I was thoroughly impressed. I will definitely be returning!

A great menu to choose from! if they don't have it you don't need it! lol The Service can't be beat, they really care about their clientele! Its a little place with lots of tables and booths always pretty busy but not to long of a wait! Give it a try and you will return and return!

If you want a good no frills breakfast spot, this is it. Good portions, great staff, and regulars who like they might get their mail delivered there! Stop by if you're in the area, you'll be glad you did!

A small Tacoma staple, good food, big portions the only downfall is they close at 2:30. Service is always nice and fairly quick, small dining room fills up quick. They've updated decor some, it's looking better and one of the only cafes around here like it.

Love the service! Love the food! Love the prices! We arrived later in the morning and they were packed. We went out to the parking lot and waited for a call. When we got in we were treated so well, even with all that was going on. The portions are huge! We didn't eat all of it, but the prices are more than decent for the amount of food you get. Everything tasted really great! The fruit was fresh, too, which is hard to find. I truly enjoyed it and will go again!

took a trip down south today to this gem of a cafe for brunch, which is always worth the drive! we ordered the denver omelette + buttermilk pancake + chicken fried steak + hot chocolate

Omg fabulous as usual!! Got my big cup for coffee... everything great! Service spot on today. And just got in here in time..shortly after 8 on Sunday. Busy busy busy but no line outside yet. They slamming em in and out today. I had the half hamburger steak with mushrooms and onions , crispy onions, eggs poached and English muffin! He had his fave Hawiian omelet ...so good!

Had the loaded hash browns with an egg. It was good, but quite heavy and a bit greasy. The staff were friendly and the ambiance was nice.

Thank goodness for Yelp because we wouldn't have stopped here based on curb Appeal. We split the vegetable omelet with hashbrowns. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly and quick. We will definitely come back. Lots of parking behind the restaurant.

I am so in love with this place after one visit aha. As soon as you step in the door you feel like you're in this homey, cozy, welcoming space. It's small but that feels just right for what they have going on. Each employee that we interacted with was so warm and inviting. You could see how comfortable each person in the restaurant was just by looking around. I ended up getting the standard breakfast. 2 scrambled eggs, sausage patties, hashbrowns, and a single pancake. I'm a big man, and I got through about HALF the food because the protons are STELLAR. On top of that, it was GOOD! The other members of my party for a variation of that and one of the omelets. Everyone at the table left that space full and happy aha. All of the food was good that we had. All of it. I would go back to Washington specifically just for this, tbh. My new favorite breakfast place for sure.

The portions for food was over the top and great value for the amount and quality of food for a breakfast diner. Service was very friendly and split the bill for us and made sure coffee kept coming around. Coffee was good for breakfast diner and we got to bring some of our food home cuz it was just a lot! Definitely would come back if I was in the area again. Don't expect a fine dining experience here. Also don't expect to walk-in and be seated right away. This place gets busy, thankfully we missed the lunch rush as we had gotten there after 1pm. The pumpkin pancakes are seasonal I'm thinking so go get it while it lasts. The oysters were cooked perfectly, no fishy smell or anything. They provided all the hot sauces you can think of. There were also sides of bread/toast that I couldn't finish.

Our favorite Go To dive spot! This place delivers old school charm with grub that definitely is rib sticking. In the numerous decades we've been coming here we've never been disappointed with the food. If your a Foodie, you definitely wanna try this spot. Only negative is on the weekends you need to expect to wait to get seated, cause this place is small and the wait time can get long, but the food is worth waiting for:)

Heard about this place through Yelp recommendations and had breakfast with one of my boys. We had breakfast and I have to say, af. The portions are huge and service is on par with any "fancy" establishment out there. They even advertise discounts for paying with cash at every table. Kinda tacky, but effective . Yes, it's a hole in the wall, but as we all know, sometimes the best eats come from the least expected locations.

From walk-in to dine-in service is A+ and what you hope to expect from a local breakfast diner. Staff is top notch friendly even at wee hours of the morning and gives you total cozy vibes and makes you feel right at home. First Yelp Check-In you get a free coffee! The breakfast portions for one are GENEROUS and they load up your plate with that crispy hash which is another level up in points. Now on to the star of the show: Hood Canal oyster omelette with added bacon. Rawr! Can we say YES PLEASE AND WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN! The omelette is cooked to perfection with just the right amount of cheese. Bacon addition in omelette has that perfect crisp which they carefully added into the dish to get one piece with every bite. The oysters are JUICY AND FRESH! Definitely don't pass on stopping through to try the brekkie dishes here. Home style and made with LOVE jus how I like it. Ten stars if I could! This is what Im talking about. Thank you for the cozy diner vibes!

A definite hole in the wall, old school greasy spoon American diner, and I love it! Very friendly waitress, made sure my soda was topped off and my buddy's coffee was full. My buddy who brought me here was singing the praises of their omelets, so I had to go that route. I went with the Marcia's Ultinate Omelet, which is peppers, onions, cheese, sautéed jalapeños, and your choice of meats. I went the three meat route with ham, sausage, and bacon. They definitely pile on the meat here! Might as well call this thing Marcia's Magical Multiplying Meat omelet because every time I stuck my fork in this thing, more meat seems to have appeared on my plate! This is truly two meals! They also do a 10% discount if you pay with cash, so essentially the price you see on the menu is the price you pay when you account for Tacoma's meals sales tax which is around 10%. I will definitely be back here! My buddy said they make a good burger, so I will need to do an update sometime when I can get in for lunch.

Greeted with a warm smile and friendly "Hello". Service was great. Coffee and water stayed full as I drank both during breakfast. For me, if a breakfast spot can't get chicken fried steak rite they're no good. THIS WAS EXCELLENT. I'd suggest the "stuffed" hash browns. Filled with bacon, cheese, sour cream, peppers and onions. If you're looking for a fancy place this ain't it. It's old and not trendy or fancy and that's perfectly fine. Great breakfast, it's clean and the service is great and friendly.

I stumbled across Marcia's Silver Spoon Cafe while looking for a place locally that serves biscuits + gravy so I decided to come here for breakfast. I dined in on a Monday around 9 am and there was no wait with a few tables/booths available. We were greeted nicely and told to sit wherever we wanted which was great. I ordered the half portion of biscuits and gravy, loaded hash browns, french toast and a hot chocolate. My husband really wanted to try the chicken and waffles, but unfortunately they were unavailable. The portions are big so we shared and brought leftovers home. The service was amazing.. everyone was nice and friendly. You can pay with card here now also, but there's a 3.5% service fee added. Overall: great spot for a simple breakfast with friendly servers/staff.

Ever eaten in a whole in the wall diner, and you always go Oh man this is awesome great food ... well this is one of those places. NO frills decor, very pleasant staff, but what stands out is the food as it should. Price point is about 15% too high but in today's economy I get it to survive. I am excited to try many other thigs on their menu.

Chicken fried steak dish hit the spot. At 19.99 it was a little more cost than I am used to and the portion was more than large. Could not finish. Gravy very good. Friendly service by the ladies. A diner feel in a barren part of tacoma. I highly recommend.

Went to Marcia's after not having been there in over 10 years and it was exactly the same!! Can't tell you how much I love that . Great food and coffee, kinda divey, difficult parking and friendly staff. This is a small spot so get there early . Enjoy :)

A little disappointed here. I ordered a side of hot links and the sausages they gave me were two dried out Italian sausage. The prices sure has gone up. Other than that the food was excellent. I will come here again.

Stopped here on a whim after looking for breakfast in Tacoma. Wife questioned the decision due to location but we were both happy with the stop. Good service, great food, and nothing pretentious about the place. Just someone running a great business and offering great food. Wife had the Smitty burger with cheese and bacon. I had the chicken fried steak omelet. Both meals were delicious and we both had boxes to go 'cuz there was so much food. Looking forward to coming back. Only downside is the limited seating but they will take your name and number and you can wait in your car until they call you.

Classic diner. Super dive-y! The staff were really nice and they all looked like they were having a great time! The pancakes are ginormous and delicious!

Good food, friendly staff. Unfortunately, disastrous time management for Sunday breakfast. Two of us had a nearly TWO HOUR breakfast with only 10 mins of actual eating time. -- Their estimates for seating are WAY off. We were told 20-25 mins. It was 45. -- Once seated and even with our food being ordered asap with what looked like only one other table ordering in front of us, our meal ticket sat behind SEVERAL others. We waited another 50 mins to eat. -- Far too many to-go orders receive priority over in-restaurant guests. -- PEOPLE GO TO THE BAR NEXT DOOR AND ORDER food that gets delivered. We could have done that and left an hour earlier. We arrived at Marcia's at 9:30 and were finally served at 11:15. We left just before 11:30. What's more frustrating is that since we were visiting for the night, we debated leaving our hotel and driving back home to Seattle for breakfast. A 20 min wait seemed reasonable enough to hang around. We ended up having to call our hotel for a late check out. I get that weekend breakfast times are busy at any decent restaurant. However, when you miscalculate the seating ETA and give an appearance of being significantly less busy than you actually are, you're not doing a good job looking out for your customers.

Good, hole in the wall, tasty. Tucked away in and almost forgotten industrial area that would explain how Tacoma got its nickname, "Grit City". There is nothing about this place that reads excitement other than word of mouth that suggests otherwise. Expect to wait, but understand that however long that may be, it is well worth it. I can confidently say that It is acceptably clean and managed very well. They have put together a menu that has some good old popular diner dishes like omelettes and chicken fried steak as well as some Frankendishes like the Chicken Fried Steak Omelette (not a typo). I did witness a table of two receive a morning monstrosity of a dish called the Silver Spoon Scramble. The ingredients...EVERYTHING!!! It occupied an entire platter. There was more food on that plate then there is in some small countries. If someone brought me that for breakfast, I would not eat it but take it home, name it, and raise it as my own. This place is not for amateurs. If you are ravaged by hunger, don't have a ton of money, and want to pick up nutritional provisions for the next three days, the Silver Spoon would be your huckleberry.

If you're driving through Tacoma or if you happen to live nearby) during breakfast time, give this place a try. Large portions, delicious food (my husband & I got blueberry pancakes and a veggie omelet and split it). It's small and has an old fashioned diner feel.

Good service, huge portions so take caution, and they have pretty much anything you would want in a diner. Bring cash, even though they take credit/debit cards they charge a fee and if you pay with cash they offer a 10% discount which was great !

Love this place. A local staple. Best chicken fried steak I've had. Crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside and gravy is delicious. Small inside, and limited seating so expect a wait. Please be patient as restaurants are still under staffed and doing the best they can to find workers. Service was great, servers were nice. When you're done, you take your bill and pay at the front. Great little country style restaurant food. Large portions.

I don't go out to eat breakfast often, since I prefer other meals over breakfast foods, but I would definitely come eat breakfast here any day. Food is excellent, staff and service are wonderful, and portions are great. I've always wanted to come here to try the oyster omelette, since I love oysters, but I ended up getting Marcia's Ultimate Omelette and added oysters, steak, and hot links. I got it with the loaded hashbrowns, even though I was on keto, and gave that to my bf. The omelette was really good, with lots of filling. I don't remember having an omelette before that gave me plenty of meat. I tried the biscuits and gravy, well, actually just the gravy, since I couldn't eat the biscuit. And although I'm not a big fan of gravy, that was maybe the best gravy I've ever had; it was tasty and thick and creamy with lots of big chunks of meat. Every thing looked delicious. My cousin and bf really enjoyed their food as well. We all had leftovers. I definitely want to come back to be able to enjoy the loaded hashbrowns and do want to try plenty of other stuff.

Huge servings and good food!! Always busy, line out the door. Make sure you have room in your stomach and room in your schedule. There may be a wait but well worth it and if it's your first time there, consider sharing a plate or two. There were 3 of us and we got one dish although it was probably the biggest dish there and one side of blueberry pancakes. We all are decent portions while there and each took home a decent portion. Highly recommend for a south end breakfast experience!!

We had breakfast here yesterday for the first time. A sign was posted that they are understaffed so we were patient. It did take a long time to get our food once we ordered. The wait staff was very nice though. I had a bacon, cheese and mushroom omelet with hash browns and sourdough toast. My BF had the biscuits and gravy with eggs and hash browns. This place has an old-school diner vibe. Kinda like if your grandma was making you breakfast. Lots of people ordered takeout which may be the way to go if you don't have time for a leisurely meal. I'd recommend.

Our server was so very kind. He attended us with a gentle demeanor and was very quick. We were very lucky to wait less than ten minutes for a table on a Saturday morning. Our family wanted to try it all so we had French toast with cinnamon, blintzes, stuffed waffles, pancakes, eggs and loaded hash browns and a biscuit! My son loves the pancakes but thought the waffle was "cake like". I thought it was great. I love the cream cheese filling! Loaded hash browns were so good and the bacon!!!

The food here is good and the portion are huge. The service here is good the staff are friendly and very welcoming. The cafe has limited room so expect a little wait, but the wait is well worth it.

In Tacoma close to the highway to Paulsbo. Was crowded on a weekday when we were there. Food was great, my son, who is in the military was full to capacity with his meal. We really enjoyed the meal, service was homey and well executed. We will be back.

I ain't mad about it! In Tacoma for a quick trip (again). So got to have breakfast. So give me a good mom and pop restaurant. Marcia's Silver Spoon Cafe looks like it fits the bill. Ordered the chicken and waffles. 4 pieces and 3 waffles. Syrup, butter and white gravy on the side plate. You got to love it. Comfort food at its best. Try it out it's good stuff. I didn't hate it!

Amazing breakfast! Quality ingredients, cooked with love. This little gem is a hidden treasure. The food is to die for. No frills but all the tasty comfort you could handle. Portions are huge and in this day and age with food prices, I can appreciate that. The oyster omelet was fabulous. I can't wait to come back.
