This place was really pleasant and the food was better than I had been aware of. Plenty of veggie and seafood options, surprisingly cool classy experience being seated at the bar since the place was full. The beans and greens were really good but I was not quite as impressed with the seafood diavolo. Sal’s pizza was way too heavy for me since I prefer a lighter thin crust. Service and atmosphere were quite pleasant. Looking forward to going back.

The bolognese with added meatballs was insanely good and the portions were huge. I overlooked this place in the past due to the outside appearance but step inside to a different world. Highly recommend and will be back soon. Maybe in a few weeks as I have had bolognese left overs 3 days in a row.

Very disappointed in the service today. Young lady refused to split our check up, We never had a problem with this previously here, she claims it's a new policy. Told her she lost a customer and her response was oh that's unfortunate. Unreal. Time to find a new Italian spot.

I haven't been here in quite a while so wanted to give it a try. I thought the food was quite good although I did think the place was very expensive for lunch. Costs $4.80 for one of the very small bottles!

We've been going to Marcos for over 20 years and tonight was the last time. First and the worst reason is I ordered stuffed shells and they came with some cheep melted chesse on top. No real Italian restaurant would serve Stuffed shells with melted cheese on top and it was some sheep artificial excuse for mozzarella. The sauce was some thing rom a can , some caned sauce that is used in a school cafeteria. Marcos used to have a very tasty side salad, they have kept that in spirt but made it larger, and added Feta cheese to that. How many Italian restaurants add Feta cheese to the salad? I'm writing this review because I have terrible indigestion hours later and it was too painful to try to sleep. Once a very nice Italian restaurant that one of proprietors tryed to ruin about 10 years ago with an awful renovation distroying the ambiance but keeping a quality coming out of the kitchen, sadly now what comes out from the kitchen is even worse than the tacky bar and restaurant redo. Not be going back ...

i dislike leaving negative reviews so i will be brief. i won't be back. neither one of us liked our dish. i did not like the service/server. when i returned the $30 plate they offered a canoli as compensation. the server said, 'the dish is prepared correctly, it is not our fault that you do not like it'. i won't return. i won't recommend. UPDATE: (Mar 2025) - i did not see the response from the owner until now. i would not return even for a free meal. the night i visited the restaurant the server and i had a long unpleasant exchange. she claimed to speak to the chef and BOTH refused to resolve the issue satisfactorily right then and there. there are FAR too many great restaurant options in Buffalo. i will go elsewhere.

Google
Always a great experience. The happy hour menu on Thursday is awesome. Great place to come for authentic Italian food.

Yelp
I want to thank the owner for kindly and compassionately reaching out to me Indeed, I made a mistake and confused his restaurant with San Marco. I humbly apologize and look forward to visiting this establishment.

Yelp
Dinner before Kleinhans. Had an early dinner sadly in an empty restaurant. We started with Chianti and they brought out these great homemade garlic rolls. I had the Mezzaluna (baked macaroni w /ricotta, breaded chicken & mozzarella. It was good but they need to use larger plates because the food was falling off the sides when I tried cutting my chicken. Our waitress was very attentive and the restaurant is real cute. There were a couple tables occupied when we left just before 6pm.

Yelp
A smaller local place. Went in at 730 on a Thursday and we got the last table. Let's start with the food. Rate 4.5 The gnocchi was very good. Slightly undercooked but still so good. Great sauce with a little sweetness and some ricotta cheese. Delicious Staff. Charlene was our waitress. And looking around she was doing a lot of extra things. But she still has time for us, gave us good recommendations and help. Once in a while you get a gem. She is one of those. Beer choices pretty good for a smaller place.

Yelp
This place was a nice Italian spot on Niagara street! Right upon entering, I really liked the restaurants environment. It was definitely renovated recently, and had very nice decorations. The hostess and server was super nice and helpful when deciding drinks and food. We started with the arinici, which are fried rice and peas in a ball. This was my first time having it, and I LOVED it! I got the homemade ricotta gnocchis, and it was also incredible. I would definitely come back on the gnocchis alone!

Yelp
Why didn't I come here sooner?? This place was *AMAZING*. The staff are so kind and friendly, and the restaurant itself was clean and inviting aesthetically. Marco's has a set menu but also a great variety of specials, which our waittress gave us on a smaller, handwritten menu. They also have a bar with a great drink selection, and our waittress was very helpful at giving us suggestions. We ordered the arancini, chicken cutlets alla vodka (a special), chicken parmagiana, and some dessert to go. This food was insanely delicious. It tasted like it was made with simple, quality ingredients, and the portion sizes were fantastic for the price. The dessert, made by the owner's mother, was also fantastic - we got a cannoli and cassatta cake and every bite was sublime. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Greeted promptly and seated quickly. I started with a white Italian wine Villa Sparina light crisp and refreshing. My entree was the baked cod and spinach with a side of spaghetti. Fish smothered with spinach in a white wine lemon and butter was cooked perfectly. A good sized piece of cod with spinach and lemon wedges accompanied the dish. The spaghetti in house made red sauce was thick and covered the pasts. The sauce was sweet and flavorful. I also had a glass of red wine from Italy pasque rosso (baby amarone) It was delicious. For dessert I enjoyed the Cassata cake it was light and a great finish to another Great meal. I highly recommend this establishment.

Yelp
My mom, sister and I went to Marco's for the first time during Restaurant Week. After reading through some reviews, we ordered the antipasto and breaded artichokes. The salad is huge and had the freshest ingredients. The artichokes also came with a large portion and delicious garlic aioli. For our meals, my mom and I ordered off the restaurant menu. I got the pasta and vodka sauce and she got the carbonara. It came with a salad and a dessert. We chose the Italian wedding soup, which was really the only thing I didn't care for. It was quite greasy and I didn't finish it. The pasta was amazing and had a great flavor with some pancetta and other tasty spices. I would order this again 100%. My mom also liked the carbonara. My sister ordered the chicken Marsala off the menu and had only complementary things to say about it. We finished our meal with our included cannoli and a piece of peanut butter pie. Great job to Marco's staff/chef! We will be back.

Yelp
Superb food quality, plating and abundance! Friendly, wonderful owner and staff who remember you by your first name! Very reasonably priced appetizers, entrees and cannoli's!! You'll be back too! Mark & Anna

Yelp
So sad to write this now, March 2025. We've been patrons for 20 years and what was once a good Italian restaurant is now discusting. Avoid at all costs, they shouldn't continue. My Stuffed shells came with about 5 onces of melted cheep artificial cheese on top. No one melts cheese on top of Stuffed shells. The sauce was from a can, a can of some cheep sauce no one would use unless they were a jail or army kitchen. The side once a hall mark of Marcos has much of the same flavors but too much of them and the addition of feta cheese on an Italian salade shows you no one who knows or cares is running the place any more. I'm up writing this because of indigestion. Marco's was once a very nice Italian resturant, then about 10 years ago before the pandemic, some one got the smart idea to renovate and remove all the charm the place had, taking the first step to destroy it. They came close but it still retained a food quality that was still fine. Well in 2025 who ever is now running it has successfully destroyed that and it should be avoided at all costs.

Yelp
Amazing sandwiches. It's a small deli with big flavor and taste. The staff are hard working, kind and patient. They quietly serve you some of the best food around. We really enjoyed our meal. I didn't think sandwiches were that big of a deal but this place does it so well.

Yelp
The sausage cacciatore and eggplant parmesan were good. I've never had beans and greens made into a soup though. At issue is that they did not honor the prices on their menu. The basic well cocktail menu was $12 a drink and when our bill arrived, they charge $15.50 for the Manhattan and $19 for the Old Fashioned. When we asked the waitress about this, she defended the cost by stating they did not have well liquor. The cocktail charge was divided 75% as the cost of the liquor and 25% as a charge for making the drink which was even weirder. When she returned with the corrected bill, it now cost $13.40 for each drink so it was still not right but we gave up. We asked for two cannoli and got four. I felt like I was being up-charged on purpose. Watch your bill...

Yelp
Everything is good here...like home cooking! Service is always great and the atmosphere is modern and cozy

Yelp
I've tried out their deli locations a million times and loved them but this is my first go of their regular restaurant. Interior of the space is modern, nicely done, and gives you a fancy feel for not being pretentious. We started out with the mushroom bisque on special which was a HUGE portion and a different spin on the norm with hints of tomato and sherry. The bread artichokes were crispy, flavorful, and the aioli was the perfect compliment, not your typical francaise you find most places. The chicken piccata was good, not my favorite in the area, perhaps just needed a little more caper flavor in there but the addition of shrimp was much welcomed, the portion was huge which explained the price. Not a fan of their spaghetti sauce, a bit too sweet for me but considering portion size I took that home to doctor up anyway. The other parties in my group enjoyed their chicken and veal dishes too. The waitress was extremely friendly and even asked Marco if one of the chicken dishes could be made veal, which of course it could. I'm looking forward to ordering some of their fish dishes during lent.
google avatar

Laura C.

Yelp
The calamari was excellent, the veal parmesan very good. The eggplant in the eggplant parmesan was fine, but not as interesting as I've had elsewhere. Good sauce though. Only 4 stars because it was too loud to have an easy conversation, and it took 20 minutes to get a menu and 45 to get the wine we ordered ...and I had to go hunt it down. I like the look of their new interior, but they need some sound dampening

Yelp
So on Thursday 2/23/23 Marco's opened for lunch (just that day) and it was delicious. Been going for years but they stopped doing lunch awhile ago. The good news is the "sangwiches" and other pizzas are available at dinner. Maybe he'll even make you the verde formaggio one at dinner. Ricotta, mozzarella and Parmesan, topped with arugula. The chicken cutlet was large, perfectly breaded and fried, and on the most delicious housemade focaccia.

Yelp
Good beer batter fish fry. Go early for best batch on Fridays. And you can get it with PASTA or fries. Sweet sauce here, great for anyone who likes to shake on their own pepper flakes and grated cheese. The place is recently remodeled and has a new, classy bar. Busy on weekends. For good reason!

Yelp
Again, Marco can not hit my 4-star plateau. Antipasto is still the best thing on the menu ... I had Pasta Inferno - except they forgot the inferno??? My wife got beans and greens ,,,, it was a soup? Utica mafia would be put off by this,

Yelp
Came by here for a quick lunch. Food here is a plenty so your lunch can also easily be your dinner.... big portions. 1) Place is clean and welcoming. We were quickly greeted and sat. 2) Waitress was friendly and attentive. 3 Food was good. Had the lentil soup and Eggplant Palm. Excellent. Overall, I recommend you this place and will be returning soon. Please give them a try for yourself.

Yelp
Went to Marcos for the first time tonight. There are a lot of Italian places in Buffalo- this is up there with the best in the city! The ambiance was nice, the service was stupendous, and the food was outstanding! I had the Little Italy salad to start, with a tomato basil dressing that is very good! The bread came with a roasted garlic and eggplant spread (consistency of a tamponade) which was AMAZING! For dinner, I had the special, which is in the photo (sorry it was that good that I ate half of it before taking this photo). Herb grilled chicken with penne in a Marsala cream sauce with carmelized onions. Gabby, our server, was very tentative, served us with a smile the entire meal, and made sure we had an enjoyable experience. The owner, Marco, even came out of the kitchen and asked how our meals were- that speaks volumes to me when the owner comes out and makes sure you're enjoying the experience. Bravo! Prices were VERY reasonable for the portions you get. If in Buffalo and looking for a good Italian place, definitely try Marcos out. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
You cannot leave here hungry; with a doggy bag probably, but not hungry. We came for a late(2:30) lunch. I had the mezzaluna. It is baked pasta with some grilled chicken strips on top, covered with some nice ricotta and mozzarella cheese. The sauce is slightly sweet which only makes the dish more tasty. Our waiter offered more bread which is served with both soft butter and seasoned dipping oil. We'd already eaten one small, warm loaf with the oil and butter, but thought we needed more for both my extra sauce and the liquid from the mussels(cooked in lager w/ a lot of minced garlic)my husband ordered. We guessed right. We finished off the second loaf too! Our waiter was attentive without hovering. He did ask us about dessert. I was surprised as there are no desserts on the menu. We said " no thanks", so I cannot tell you the choices.

Yelp
Ruined my whole night. We very rarely go out to eat due to the cost of everything. we went to Marcos after a few years away pre Covid. so disappointed that my favorite meal, a vegetarian linguine pasta with a tomato wine sauce was no longer on the menu. we always order too much and take home the rest for tomorrow. I wanted a salad and was told I CANNOT HAVE MY DRESSING ON THE SIDE. I know I will not eat the whole salad if I am going to eat any of my meal. my salad came loaded with dressing. so I attempted to eat as much as I could which still left half of it. I had to have the waitress pack my whole dinner up because I couldn't eat it, I ended up throwing the rest away because after an hour it was nothing but wilted smudgy leafs. When has the options and wishes of the customer become nonessential? My fathe who owned a restaurant for 40 years would knock me in my head if the customer DIDNT GET THEIR MEAL THE WAY THEY WANTED IT. If a customer wanted a steak cooked xxx well done and it would put a dent in a wall that's the way THE CUSTOMER WOULD GET IT. The only reason I gave it a one star was because the waitress was kind and the restaurant is responsible for the wa they choose to treat their customers. No wonder they downsized the size of the restaurant.

Yelp
Haven't been here in a couple of years, but they are still making great food. I ordered DoorDash and enjoyed my arancini and artichokes very much!! Very tasty!! Easy ordering. I will be ordering again. Soon.

Yelp
Came to Marcos tonight for the first time since the beautiful remodel! Wow!! They really outdid themselves! This looks like a whole new restaurant. We were seated promptly and had great service! After reading reviews, I was really looking forward to trying their bread dipping oil, however, found out they don't serve it anymore!! We were seated next to a window and there were quite a bit of flies which was annoying but to be assumed since the door was constantly opening for to go orders. I had the chicken cacciatore which came out steaming hot and with a huge portion!! I'd dare say enough for 3 days! Food was amazing, service was awesome and the entire new dining room was immaculate. We will definitely be back!! (Hopefully by the time we do, they bring back the bread oil!!!)

Yelp
We were looking for somewhere new to eat and stumbled into Marcos. The ambience was pleasant. They also had live music. The staff was super friendly and service was great. We had several different apps. One being beans and spinach which was tasty the other was fried ravioli which was frozen. The salads were ok. It seemed like a wedding buffet the best part was the ranch dressing. I had the ravioli bolognesse . The sauce was sweet with a hint of mint and I'm sorry to say the ravioli were frozen. My dates for the night had the spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta was ok but the meatballs had a weird texture My biggest peeve is the charged us $3.00 a piece for fountain drinks. We spend close to $30 for a few sprites and unsweetened ice tea. It left a sour experience.

Yelp
My second visit and review of this restaurant. This review is the addition to the first one on the Cod entrees: my selection Cod Florentine, large piece of Cod, in my favorite green spinach , bountiful blend of seasoning. My mom selection of Cod Itailano, beautiful seasoning , large piece of Cod, and mouthwatering flavor. Overall each entrée flourished in presentation, texture, and robust flavors. Marco's again didn't disappoint had the pleasure of Sergio as our waiter, and Marco briefly coming out to say hello, and thanks us for the round of drinks for the staff, and check on how we liked the food, nice added touch of service.

Yelp
This is our second trip to Marco's. Do not judge it by the exterior and neighborhood. The interior renovation looks amazing. The dinner and service were great. There is a real family feel to it. I had the eggplant park and it was so good! We finished with cannolis that were perfect can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Yelp
Wagyu carpaccio. That's what I came for. And Marcos didn't disappoint. I'll back up for you. I knew about the wagyu carpaccio because I bought some wagyu beef from the local wagyu beef farmer. She mentioned that Marco was planning to make it into carpaccio. And since I don't have a slicer at home I knew this wasn't something I'd be able to make myself. So I called to confirm they were offering it as a special. I picked up two orders of that, they serve it as an app with arugula and capers. It was super tasty and if you can get some I would. But I don't think it'll be a special forever so you may want to call first. We picked up a pasta order, which is huge. Pasta with sausage and peas. Very tasty. I can't imagine one person eating it. We were having it with three and easily have enough for tomorrow lunch and perhaps even some dinner. No joke. We also got the eggplant app. It's a very generous portion. Not sure I'd do that again, the tomatoes were only ok and there was a lot of oil. All of this came with a side of bread, nice to wipe up the sauce from the pasta. A side salad arrived home too, perfect size actually. Ill happily takeout from here again. Meals for days. Prices right. But probably only when there's Wagyu carpaccio ($14) as a special. Parking here is in an abandoned lot on Niagara. Only ok. Drive that lot very carefully.

Yelp
I was debating over the menu what to choose. There are many appealing dishes on their menu. While reading the waiter brought over a little card with the specialties of the day. Nicely handwritten on a Marco's card. When I saw the mussels in lager on the menu (as a starter) I knew what to pick. The dish was wonderful. Great taste, lots of garlic and a hint of beer. The mussels were very meaty. The waiter asked us, while waiting, if we liked some bread. A small loaf, nice and warm showed up with butter and an olive oil/balsamic vinegar mix. It was great bread, really great. We had it finished before the main dishes arrived. The waiter offered a second loaf that we happily accepted as there was a lot of wonderful sauce from my mussels left. Dipping the fresh bread in that sauce made my day. The waiter was very attentive without being too present. Marco's Italian Restaurant is a great choice if you are in the mood for Italian!

Michael L.

Yelp
Interior renovations are great! Food is always very good and reasonably priced. Service is always warm and welcoming. The Scampi, Paisano Inferno and Mezzaluna are our usual favorites. The antipasto is very good as well Although I haven't had the meatballs while actually dining there, I sampled them at the annual 'Meatball Street Brawl' held downtown and theirs were my favorite (followed closely by Amici's) as they remind me of the one's my mother used to make growing up

Yelp
This restaurant is on the #40 bus route (and #5, too), which made it a candidate for mom, who is in a wheel chair and in rehab at Elderwood. Wheel chair access is somewhat difficult, but not impossible if you have an assistant. The atmosphere is on the fun side. It seemed like everyone was having a good time the night we went. The wait-staff seemed to enjoy bringing out dish after wonderful dish. As we waited for our order, we saw a mountain of antipasto go by. It was an eye-catcher, for sure. Out meal was wonderful. My companion had spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta was perfectly done, with a delicious sauce. The meatballs were almost as good as mine, which are absolutely heaven. Mom also had meatballs as the main entry. I had the manicotti, which consisted of 3 enormous, wonderful rolls. The service was excellent. The prices are just a tad on the high side, but offset by the large portions.

Yelp
Stopped in tonight with a few friends. When it's 11 degrees out, nothing better to warm you up but a nice hot dinner! I have been here a few times before and seem to always order the chicken parm, the sauce is a little sweet but I love it. No big chunks of tomatoes, just a nice smooth red sauce. Our waitress was awesome! Very attentive and always made sure we had what we needed. We started with the arnicini, which were good but I thought the peas were too big or maybe there was too many and they also had a tiny bit of spice to them. The side salad was big for a side and you definitely need to get the house vinaigrette dressing, it's full of just the right amount of flavor. Of course the chicken parm was delicious and I like that they let you choose between penne and spaghetti. If you haven't been in yet, bookmark it and make plans!

Yelp
Went with a group of 7 people this past Sunday. The building was empty and we were sat at our table right away. Service was steady and no complaints. I Started with the Clam Chowder and I was shocked how big the bowl was. Our table ordered the arincini, which we all thought was OK, we have all had better. I had the pork Saltimbocca, which was just ok and for the amount of food and the cost I think it was overpriced, at $21 I would expect a larger portion. The bread that is serviced with dinners was great. I'll take the good with the bad!

Yelp
Just had lunch with a friend at Marco's. It was awesome. All the food is fantastic. Place was busy. But staff handled the busy lunch crowd perfectly. They hustle. The dishes we saw coming out of the kitchen made your mouth water. You wanted to ask the server, "What was that?" Huge pasta dishes and the pizza looked great. Everyone in the place was complimenting the chef. We started with the soup. A crab and clam bisque. It was awesome. My friend's Julienne Salad could of fed a whole family. I ordered "BANG BANG" calamari in sweet and spice chili arugula, hot peppers, onions. What a great creation. Actually, it is an app. but I ordered it as an entree. It was fabulous. Every dish is unique and everything is beyond gourmet.

Yelp
I really don't know what happened to this once glorious restaurant. Once a staple for good Italian food, one is better off saving themselves money and stay home, cook a pound of spaghetti and throw a jar of Ragu over it. It would really be better than what's coming out of Marcos kitchen now. It's been a couple years since I've been here, but am sadly disappointed. The menu is really pared down. Basic pasta dishes and really unimpressive chicken/veal options. Where is the homemade sausage? Not even linguine anymore. One special on the card. And everything wayyyyyy overpriced. Come on Marco. 3 tiny thin pieces of lonely veal "cutlet" on a plate with lemon wedges and a side bowl of tasteless spaghetti for 22.00? Um, no. The sauce is tasteless, the spaghetti and penne swimming in water at the bottom of the bowl. Not a hint of garlic or olive oil. The salad... small torn pieces of iceberg with one tomato and 2 chick peas. The bread is not homemade anymore. And no olive oil to dip anymore. 3 tasteless stuffed hot peppers that were undercooked, 3 small tasteless arancini that could not be distinguished from a golf ball. Nothing like the pic of the arancini that shows on Marcos website... that's what YOU USED TO GET. Not anymore. I have not had a meal in a long time that made me REALLY MAD. The food here now is lesser quality than cafeteria food. Being Italian myself the standard is somewhat high when eating Italian out, sometimes a pass can be given but this was unacceptable. When I wanted Italian and didn't feel like cooking I'd rather eat Marcos. Now I'll just cook myself from now on. I used to praise Marcos food and always recommended out of town visitors to go there. I've had such memorable meals there in the past, I still can taste the homemade portabella ravioli with Marcos homemade sausage and peas in a garlic cream sauce... my god that was so good. Well, won't be finding anything like that anymore. :( It's clear that Marco is cutting corners, cutting the menu, making food cheaper yet still charging a premium. Very disappointed. Frank's Sunny Italy was the worst Italian on my list... now Marcos ranks below that. So bad. The half empty dining room on a night when there should have been a waitlist at the door shows the demise of Marcos is soon to come. Unless he steps up his game again....

Yelp
Got to tell you, probably the best Italian restaurant in Buffalo. Last Friday nite my wife, daughter & daughters boyfriend went for dinner. The Veal cutlet sandwich I had was unbelievable, the roll it was served on is without doubt the best I've ever had, daughters boyfriend had a pasta special with bolognese sauce along with a chicken cutlet was to die for. Wife had the Greens & Beans, she claims the best ever. Our daughter had Chicken Parm, also to die for. The toasted ravioli appetizer was great !!!!! With the current employment issues, the waitresses handled everything like there wasn't a issue. KUDOS to the entire staff!!!!! Can't wait to go back, which will be real SOON !!!!

Yelp
I'm telling you I love this place! My mother worked there in the 60's to 70's when it was Darone's Fargo Grill and I basically grew up there. Hard to compare due to my nostalgia BUT Marco's marinara sauce is just incredible!

Rob H.

Yelp
While a visit to Marco's Italian Restaurant had never left me disappointed, our meal with friends last night was extra special! The remodeling that has taken place is amazing! It seems so much more spacious and upscale. You won't believe that it is the same place! The food was on point! I enjoyed a fried pork chop special that was served over sliced fried potatoes with a stuffed hot pepper on top and finished with a bleu cheese cream sauce. Delicious is an understatement! My wife enjoyed their Chicken Parmesan that was so plentiful that she had more than enough leftover for lunch. Our guests raved about their Chicken Piccata and the Antipasto as well. Well done, Chef Marco and crew!

Yelp
Went to Marco's with some coworkers for lunch. We ordered various items right off the menu, no special requests. The server was very friendly and accommodating, even when we asked that the sticky table be wiped down again. So on to the food, the eggplant parm looked nice, however it was basically fried eggplant slices stacked up, served atop some sauced spaghetti with a small amount of mozzarella melted on top. It had good flavor, the eggplant was moist, but not the typical casserole type of melding the flavors together, as it seems they make it to order. I usually like made to order dishes, don't get me wrong, but everyone knows eggplant parm, lasagna and those types of dishes need time to set and the flavors need to comingle for a while to taste the best. On to the spaghetti parm, it was just meh... very little sauce on the spaghetti and very little mozzarella melted on the top. If you are a fan of Chefs (which I am not) this is not on the level of sauce and cheese that you've come to expect in spaghetti parm. The order of ravioli was small, maybe six small square raviolis (they did not look scratch made) with some sauce on a small oval plate. My coworker was still hungry even after using bread to eat the sauce on the plate. She did comment that the sauce was very good. The antipasto was large and had everything you would expect on an antipasto. The house dressing was really tasty. It came in one of those large woven wooden bowls with a smaller one on the side to eat the salad from. The greens used were very fresh! It lasted until two days later and still looked as if it was freshly made. So, everything was OK here, there was not a standout dish. Their portions were not small but also not generous. I am not dying to go back but I wouldn't boycott either...

Yelp
+ great service, huge portions - prices too high There's nothing special about Marco's when you walk in. The decor is pretty dated. The waitress greeted us pretty quick and was great at explaining the different plates they have. I ended up getting the chicken parm and my friend has the sausage cacciatore. Both were large dishes. The sauce is "very" sweet, so if you're not into that sort of thing, you may not like their dishes. My chicken was cooked perfectly and the sausage was tasty as well. I like the warm loaf of bread they give you with butter and oil to dip--a nice touch. The waitress kept asking us how everything was, she was so friendly. The only major issue I have with the place is the price of each dish. They start at $15 which is far too pricey for the neighborhood and decor (or lack thereof).

Yelp
When you walk into Marcos, the bar is right there. Finally I realized that the hosted station was behind all the people that were standing at the bar I waited my turn and the hostess station and the girl said "I'll be right with you. So, I waited for her to seat another party that was at the bar. When she returned, she said there will be a fifteen minute wait. So we decided to order a drink at the bar. By this time there was no body at the bar, including a bartender. Finally someone came behind the bar. My son asked for a Manhattan. The bartender's response was, " I don't know how to make that". At this point the mood of the even had been completed deflated and we should have walked out. But we were hungry so we stayed. I have very low expectations for the food and dinner service. It is apparent that the owners of Marcos are not paying attention to their business.

Yelp
Went to Marco's for dinner with 5 adults and 4 children including a 2 year old toddler, a 4 year old and 6 year old twins. First off, when a request for 2 booster seats is made, bring crayons and paper with the boosters, not 20 minutes later. The restaurant week menu was a great deal; a choice from two apps, a nice size salad (I so dislike salads served in those gross fake wooden salad bowls, use glass plates, please), a choice of entree from several choices and dessert for $20.19 !! The entrees were very generous portions but the red sauce tasted like tomato sauce right from the can, not a sauce that I would expect from an Italian restaurant.. The children's meals were very large portions for under $6. The fries seemed to be hand cut. Service was slow especially with 4 children in the party but I believe it was the fault of the kitchen. We had to ask for bread but otherwise the server was efficient and friendly. The atmosphere was fine but not intimate, definitely "kid friendly".

Yelp
Much better than average Italian food. Some creative offerings along with all your standard favorites.

Yelp
8/27/2019 We ordered Spaghetti and meat balls... Piccata..chicken and shrimp in white wine... which is usually served with pasta under the sauce and chicken. The pasta was served on the side with red sauce. Most people order Piccata because they want to avoid red sauce. The white sauce had so many capers that it made the dish inedible due to the saltyness. I returned the dish and told the waitress I did not want another. She returned with the dish saying the sauce had already been remade... in other words they would not remove it from our bill. My Husbands spaghetti sauce was worse than a jar sauce. This used to be a very good restaurant and a vey busy one. There were only two tables occupied. That should have warned us!!!

Yelp
My husband, myself and our two children visited Marco's Italian Restaurant while passing through Buffalo on our trip to back to Michigan. We were in the mood for a good Italian dinner In a semi-casual atmosphere. After traveling in our car all day, we really needed to unwind with a nice family dinner and Marco's was the perfect destination! My husband discovered this hidden gem by searching for nearby restaurants on his smartphone, and I am so glad he did. It was a bit farther from our hotel than we originally had planned to stray, but upon entering we felt right at home. We did call for reservations, although they were not necessary even though it was a Saturday evening at 7:15. We were greeted with a warm welcome, and seated immediately at a quaint table for four in the corner of the back room. Immediately we noticed the families around us enjoying their delicious looking meals and clinking their wine glasses as they talked amongst themselves. There were several large tables ready for large family gatherings in the room where we were seated. Our served greeted us immediately with an introduction, ice waters with lemon, and a warm loaf of fresh bread served with herbed oil for dipping. She took our drink order and offered up the daily specials. It was a very tough decision, as everything sounded wonderful, admittedly, I had noticed the specials on the board near the entrance and had made up my mind immediately. My children both decided on the homemade ravioli, one with sauce on, and one sauce on the side. My husband still needed a bit of time to decide and the server offered up some of her favorites to assist him. I ordered one of the daily specials- a Pork Ragu (slow cooked with crushed tomatoes, onion, carrots and celery) then served over a bed of imported pasta straight from Italy. My husband settled on our servers favorite dish, the Carciofi (a Chicken breast sautéed with artichoke hearts, mushrooms and sweet red peppers, and Marsala Wine then baked with Mozzarella cheese) served with a side of pasta. Both of our entrees included a house salad, and we opted for the tomato basil vinaigrette dressing. She asked if we would like her to order the kids dinners immediately, and we agreed with her suggestion to do so. She served our salads along with the kids dinners, which they quickly ate. My youngest actually wanted more, and we ordered her a second helping. Her second arrived with our entrées, which looked and smelled wonderful! Just as I had hoped, the pasta was covered with a rich pork ragu both fragrant and flavorful that I have been craving for years. My husbands plate looked beautiful and smelled wonderful also. His dish was everything we were promised it would be, as was mine. The portions were very generous, the price reasonable, and the food INCREDIBLE! If we didn't live 500 miles from Marco's we would be regulars! For now, we will eat the leftovers we kept cold in our cooler for the journey home, and will crave it until we pass through again. Definitely worth the trip!

Yelp
Had a wonderful evening with family, but the food was a huge let down. Salad was iceberg lettuce, and mediocre tomatoes and onion. The house vinaigrette was pretty much vinegar. Paisano Inferno with its Italian sausage and hot peppers had no flavor. How could that be? The bread was the only decent food put in front of me. My wife's pasta fagioli was a couple boullions short of tasteful. I'm still scratching my head. Wait staff was great. Atmosphere was nice. Some of the other family members liked what they got. But if I want to eat decent Italian food there are many better choices locally. Marco's Deli is still one of my favorites, but I cannot walk away from a 600 dollar bill and not say something when the food is mediocre.

Yelp
Not the Marco' I've come to expect, sub-par at best tonight. Took a long time to get our drink order (2 guests). When the food came it wasn't up to the standards I know from this place, very bland, no flavor, Marinara was very watery. After we got the bill and the waitress took my credit card we waited and waited for her return. After 15 minutes, I was going to leave and get my card on the way out. Our waitress had forgotten we were there and was eating her dinner with the other employees. During desert the chef (Marco?) came out and greeted a few tables and asked how everything was but not our table, I found it rude not to visit all the patrons when there were only 5 tables occupied. Marco (owner) did contact me via e-mail a few days later after reading this review and he did offer to "make it right", I didn't accept any kind of comp but it was great of him to offer. I think I just picked an off night.

Yelp
I showed up late and the group had already ordered a bottle of wine, so my review starts with the ordering of food. The specials all sounded pretty good (two of the group made a last minute change and got them). I got the bolognese and the waitress advised that it's not what I might expect because it's not a tomato based sauce. I went with it anyways and was glad I did. My pasta and the specials came with salad, but the fish fry (what the fourth ordered) doesn't. There were only three dressing choices; I recommend the house, it was a very tasty vinaigrette. The pasta dishes were very large and I'm looking forward to my leftovers. The bolognese was really good and came to the table steaming. Our waitress was great, but the busser came and asked if we needed to go boxes as I was putting the fork in mu mouth! It seemed like she was rushing us out, but there were several open tables (even on a Friday night). We were all too full for dessert and coffee, but the cannolli looked delicious. Although the end of the meal wasn't that great, all of the rest was quite nice. I definitely recommend travelling to this neighborhood and checking it out. I'll be coming back, too!
