The 16 Best Restaurants In Nassau, Bahamas - Nassau - The Infatuation

"Chef Marcus Samuelsson, who you probably know from TV or Red Rooster in NYC or Miami, has a spot right here in Nassau in the Baha Mar hotel. Chop House does upscale Bahamian dishes really well, like conch croquettes and island seafood rice, served to the background of a beachfront location that’s perfect for romantic dinners. It generally feels like a typical resort hotel—you know, lots of people wearing flowing kaftans and airy indoor spaces where the salty breeze somehow makes the food taste better. The best views are on the upper level, which is sometimes reserved for private events, but they host fun DJ sets on Fridays and Saturdays you can check out even if you’re not staying at the hotel." - ashleigh sean rolle

Chef Marcus Samuelsson on His New Restaurant in the Bahamas - AFAR

"Led by six-time James Beard Award–winning chef Marcus Samuelsson, this fish-and-chop house is the result of nearly four years of research and collaboration with local Bahamian purveyors. The menu reimagines Caribbean comfort food using native ingredients—examples include fried chicken with sour orange hot honey, tuna tartare with cassava chips, and Marcus’s Cornbread served with a spice-infused, rum-spiked butter—and it features a signature “Yes, Chef” cocktail (vodka, pineapple gum syrup, and ginger). The kitchen emphasizes local sourcing (sour oranges, hydroponically grown herbs and tomatoes, passion-fruit hot sauce, and house pickles) and cultural sensitivity: traditional items like conch salad are left to local cooks while the restaurant adapts presentation and techniques. Housed with a large open kitchen and local leadership (chef Garrette Bowe), the concept aims to provide training and jobs for island residents; it is open for dinner and reservations are recommended." - Raven Briana McMillan

Overall really nice experience but a tad disappointed with the food. I got the Bahamian whole catch. The fish was tender and the pancake was good, but was it really worth 75? I had similar or better for a fraction of the price. The same can be said for the filet mignon. Somewhat flavorless but the sauce did help it. What was with it... The corn bread. Its $12 but man was it good. For kids food, I do not recommend the steak and fries. Get the chicken tender or spaghetti instead. The kids steak is done very well and has an irony taste. Service was great. Very friendly and attentive staff. Would I come back? Probably not but this place has no problem finding patrons to eat here.

Excellent service. The fried chicken, Piccadilly sea food pasta and Bahamas fish catch were all delicious. Its pricey. The atmosphere could be improved with tablecloths.

A wonderful first night dinner at Baha mar and Marcus was on point. Everything was perfect. The service the food and the atmosphere was amazing. 5 stars and make sure you have a reservation. Also supposedly an amazing sunset floor that we didn’t get to check out but will next time

Wow…there are several places to eat here at Baha Mah BUT not any that I’ve found that were as good as this. Appetizer, Conch Fritters. Salad, Lettuce Wedge was HUGE (share this $17 starter), Entree’, Grouper Seared on both sides and finished in the broiler. Veggies (Collard Greens), were spot-on Great! Drinks were refilled before empty. My GoTo spot for dinner. You must have a reservation well before dinner. Lesson learned! It sells out. We sat at the bar.

First off, it’s a Beautiful restaurant… we came with our two kids. We were unable to get a reservation for dinner, so we got one for lunch. Let me start off by saying… there are no chops at the chop house! The menu was quite possibly the strangest menu I’ve ever seen at a chop house (please see below). Throw a steak or a piece of fish on here? This menu looks like expensive Denny’s with a seafood tower. We didn’t come to a chop house for chicken and waffles or biscuits and gravy, or some Grits? They gave our kids a kids menu to color on, then said ‘hey-we’re out of crayons’… We fed our kids, we ordered a Cesar salad. Salad was extremely bland. They seemed to be out of half the drinks. Our server looked like her cat passed away or extremely unhappy to be at work. Some chicken tenders for our kids and two salads took about 45 minutes to receive. There were several other people on the patio where we were seated that were wondering where the servers were, or if everything was ok. Every other restaurant we’ve eaten at in Baha Mar has been amazing. It’s a beautiful property. Hopefully if they get some new management, There’s room for improvement here.

2nd time eating here. I always order the Bahamian Catch which is the Fish of the Season. Food is always great, service is amazing. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Food comes out beautiful and colorful. Always tasty. Also highly recommend Miso Mushroom side.

Excellent menu with tasty starters and specials. Don't miss the cornbread and the conch salad. Very well crafted cocktails and a solid wine menu round out this location. Try the Starry Night!

We didn’t have a reservation but they insisted that we sit right at the bar even though the surrounding tables at the bar were empty!! The creamed collard greens were delicious! The corn bread & famous chicken were not impressive at all! The octopus was excellent! The bartenders were very nice & engaging! I’d recommend making a reservation way in advance for the dining room.
