One of my favourite bookshops in London. Whenever I am in London for work I have to come here and browse. I love the £10, £5, £2 and £1 shelves. If you love history of art, you are going to love it here very much.

Great variety of books! Also holds a range of prices, so it’s affordable for everyone! Really good experience!

Cool bargains to be found! Helpful staff too. Perfect place to browse after or before visiting the Tate (across the road). Not all the items stocked there are necessarily art books either. Some curiosities can be discovered too. The shop's secondhand section seems to be the wooden troughs at the front window, which are a great source of inspirational material if you're creative. There are vintage journals, rare magazines, illustrated catalogues and mono-graphs.

A gem! Located opposite the Tate Modern, this shop stocks all kinds of art, sculpture, photography books, prints, posters and uncategorisable oddities too. I should say I'm a bit wary of going into shops during the pandemic as I consider myself vulnerable, but I can't resist a bookshop, and happily the staff do an superb job of making browsers feel safe in the current pandemic. It's clean and spacious. There are free gloves supplied and hand gel. Since discovering the place some months ago I've been back twice. The gentleman there is always super helpful and helped me find two books I'd been looking for, and by chance I found several small items in their bargain second-hand book barrows, which stock more miscellaneous subjects. My regret is that I didn't know about this shop sooner! So yes... a very happy customer here.

Good selection of books butknow what you want before you go in so you dont have to ask the staff a question. I have never felt someone look so annoyed with a simple “Do you have this artist book” question. And beyond the look to respond with something along the lines of “Is it worth my time to look?” as a verbal response is actually embarrassing

After a visit to Tate Modern this is a great place to look for old gems and recent highlights at a good price. The bookmakers a wide range of ages mainly from the late 80s to present The interesting layout draws attention to British artists and there is an extensive section of discounted books including very good quality copies. Perhaps there could be more good catalogues from the last 5 years.

Best selection of used art books in the city. Take your time to browse through their collections, and make time for the many zines they have to offer too!

Yelp
Marcus Campbell, located nearly next to the Tate Modern, specialises in "out of print, second-hand and rare books on 20th century and contemporary art." I found the shop fairly light in the photography book selection - I was on the hunt for a coffee table book of either Nan Goldin or Edward Weston. Neither were available. The chap behind the counter was quite effusive, however, and made the experience enjoyable.

Yelp
If your visit to the Tate Modern has whetted your appetite for delving further into works of art, a mere minute away you'll find an enticing shop. Filled to the brim, with books and catalogues, to satisfy the whims of fans from classical artistic masterpieces to modern fringe, there is something here for all budgets - major and miniscule - and tastes. I came away with a wonderful 1950s Thames and Hudson book on Picasso, for just a few pounds and also bought a stunning, pristine catalogue from a glorious, recent exhibition at Rome's Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna.
