"Located at the Sandbourne Hotel in Santa Monica, Marelle features great outdoor and indoor spaces. The outdoor area overlooking the hotel pool offers an airy feeling with plenty of Southern California sun and breeze, while the indoor space is warm with earth-tone colors and green plants. The outdoor private dining space with high ceilings and drapes is particularly noteworthy." - Wonho Frank Lee

We recently visited Marelle on Sunday during the holiday weekend. I had a special request as it was my girlfriend’s birthday brunch and they delivered. We had a really good table plus the lighting outside was impeccable that day. The food was amazing and drinks were amazing. Very spacious, service was good, and they validate parking, but they only take off $10 so you still pay $10 for parking at valet. Other than that, would return again!

One of my favorite experiences in LA. Andrew the bartender was incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, and down to earth. He was kind and his service was awesome! The food was also top notch. Steak was cooked to perfection! The wings had an amazing glaze and the cheesecake was also a perfect balance and combination of flavors! Ambiance and atmosphere was also amazing and made me feel so relaxed after a long trip to LA.

We had such a wonderful time at Marelle! The entire staff, especially Alberto our waiter, was so attentive to us and our dog. Thanks for making our Valentine’s Day so special!

I would like to start this review by expressing my gratitude to Beni and the amazing team at Marelle on 1/25/25. I had the pleasure of hosting my bridesmaid proposal in a gorgeous private room within the restaurant, and the experience was nothing short of incredible. I have been to Marelle multiple times and have enjoyed myself with each reservation. Prior to my visit on the 25th, I was in communication with Beni regarding the logistics of the day and requesting permission to bring in outside decorations to set up the table for my guests. He was extremely helpful and had excellent communication throughout the entire planning process. Since my party was small (just five guests), I did not have a preset menu. However, I was allowed to arrive an hour before my event to set up, which was perfect. I was able to decorate the space with balloons, florals, table linens, a complete table setting, and a welcome sign. Additionally, I was allowed to bring my own bottle of champagne (with a corkage fee). The staff was beyond accommodating, and I truly didn’t find myself wanting for anything. My server was attentive, assisted with the table setup, and ensured I had everything I needed throughout the event. After brunch, we were able to leave behind any disposable items, allowing us to continue our day without worrying about cleanup. I cannot thank this team enough for making this special moment for my friends so smooth and enjoyable. I will definitely be hosting more events here in the future and highly encourage others to do the same. Thank you, Beni—you were the best!

The ambiance in the place is super adorable. There are large plants everywhere providing greenery and freshness. I think I got brushed across the face with an elephant leaf - delightful. I sat on the inside area with a view of the outdoors. It was too cold to enjoy the outdoor air. Service was lovely and everyone I encountered in the staff was pleasant. It is definitely worth a revisit.

What a fantastic brunch spot! The vibe was unbeatable—perfect weather, sunny skies, and just the right touch of fall crispness. The cocktails? Total perfection, all handcrafted and bursting with flavor. Adding to the fun, there was an awesome female DJ spinning tracks that set the tone for a great time. Now, let’s talk food. The crab cakes? Phenomenal. The whipped feta? Creamy, dreamy, and oh-so-addictive. The lemon ricotta pancakes with berry butter were pure magic, and the crispy fried chicken was golden, crunchy, and irresistible. The cherry on top? They keep their menu fresh and exciting, and the service is top-notch. I’m already planning my next visit. Do yourself a favor and make this your Sunday morning go-to—you won’t regret it!

This restaurant is elegant, beautiful, California vibes and with it the nicest staff and the most incredible food. I have had the spaghettini and the salmon so far and I’ve been blown away by how delicious everything is. The salmon was perfect crisp on the outside and smooth on the inside on a bed of organic vegetables. The spaghettini was perfectly cooked in a red sauce with fresh tomatoes, the view are excellent and they have a nice wine selection as well. While on the pricier side the food and ambience are excellent and I could probably eat here 3 times a day if I could. Absolutely excellent.

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant inside the Sanbourne hotel with ocean views and a breezy coastal charm. I particularly love the breakfast and dinner. Everything is fresh and consistently made very well! My favorites are the breakfast sandwich and the Mac and cheese which is sinfully delicious. Last but not least, the service is wonderful. They really make you feel at home! The bartender, Andrew, remembered me after only 1 visit and continues to provide top notch service every time I dine there or come in for drinks. The breakfast servers are really wonderful as well! I full recommend 10/10.

Yelp
Came here for a galentines dinner on a Thursday night and the place was pretty empty. The restaurant is tucked in the way back of the hotel. The inside is well decorated and it had me feeling like I was on vacation. They have a massive bar which was a vibe. Hostess and servers were welcoming, super nice and attentive which is hard to find nowadays in LA.... sadly. Food was overall good. We got a bunch of appetizers to share (fries, burrata, brussel sprouts, chicken wings, meatballs, arancini). The meatballs and arancini were my favorite. The burrata was a disappointment. The burrata was tiny and only came with 5 small bread pieces. We also got two pastas which were good but not worth the price in my opinion. Overall I didn't walk away feeling pull for the amount of money I spent. Overall experience was good!

Yelp
Marelle is a nice hidden gem, the ambiance is romantic, quiet, and classy. The food was exceptional and service was off the charts. Thank you Lourdes for helping it memorable for our daughter whose name is almost the same as the restaurant. The manager Benny was very professional and takes pride in his restaurant and team. You know that "he is the manager," not just because he was wearing a blazer, but by his leadership...being hands on. Benny was leading by example, he goes table to table greeting patrons and asking how the food is and if everything was ok, but most of all, he was helping pick up dirty plates off the table. Quality control, and being part of a team, showing the rest of his workers how it's done..."pride in your profession." We even met "ET" who also goes around periodically cleaning table and saying hello and asking guest if we need anything. As for the young gentlemen who constantly refilled our glass, thank you ...our glass was always full. Thank you too for the server who took our family picture ...sorry I didn't catch both of your names.) Thank you too Lourdes and Benny, for sharing with us your experience during the fire and so thankful that you are all safe and that things are going back to normal. Your restaurant is beautiful and elegant, food was delicious, and an awesome experience for us. God bless you both and thank you for loving what you do. It shows that you are both genuine people who takes pride in your profession and you guys do an exceptional job! Looking forward to visiting again and introducing you to the rest of the family. Blessings... Update: We had such a great time during dinner, that we had to try their breakfast the next day. We met Alex who was very friendly and warm. Thank you too Alex for sharing with us your experience during the fire and thankful that you were safe. Sitting out in the patio enjoying the beautiful view. Edwin put the umbrella up ...without knowing that in 5 min the sun rise would be over our table. We enjoyed the beauty of the sunshine without it shining over our food because Edwin took the initiative to open the umbrellas next to us. Cheers to the chef, the breakfast was deliciously filling and was presented beautifully.

Yelp
Seriously...Wow, I mean this place was absolutely stunning. To start the ambiance is amazing, the sandborne really did a great job creating the overall vibe, it's sophisticated and elegant and don't even get me started on the drinks. They have a great chef team and the staff are on point. If you want a quick drink or an amazing dinner I recommend this place. It's unlike any hotel Restaurant I have been to as of recent and I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Had a lovely evening at Marelle. The food and drinks are top. Ordered the set menu and everything had the best flavoring. Pretty dining area. Lourdes, our waitress was amazing. Brought our dishes at the perfect time and friendly. Gave good suggestions. Highly recommend. Valet is only ten dollars w validation from the restaurant.

Yelp
Aesthetic, location, and service are 10/10 for this place! I have no doubt this is going to be a go-to spot in the summer for brunch and day shenanigans in the summer. I got a yummy mocktail. My only complaint was I ordered the crab cake "entree" and it was literally 1 crab cake for $26 (I believe). That item needs to be moved to the appetizer menu. I asked for another crab cake for the plate and was charged for two full orders...my friends loved their food so I'd give it another go but definitely would not order the crab cake again.

Margaret G.

Yelp
I loved the salmon toast! It was delicious. Service was excellent and the owner or head chef (not sure) came out to check on us - it was so nice. The ambience was really lovely too.

Yelp
The place had great ratings and we were staying at the hotel so we made a reservation. My experience was just meh, and I likely won't back to this restaurant. I liked the hotel though lol. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly, I was just underwhelmed by the food. We ordered a few appetizers and didn't order entrees because of the apps. I didn't take pics of everything but the calamari was ok, kind of bland. The wings were undercooked. We had two order of them and lost had pink inside still. A no no for chicken. What was Frustrating is that we asked for the wings crispy and well done. The waiter said they always are, yet our chicken wasn't. Caesar salad was good. Overall I just wouldn't go back, the undercooked chicken was enough. Giving 3 stars as I liked the location, staff, and cleanliness.

Yelp
I have to be so honest- I really wanted to love this place. We tried it when it was quite new so I'm hopeful it will get better! When we came we asked about the shell drink we had seen all over and they didn't have any because they had all broken. We tried the honey bee (the boys said it was just kind of lacking unfortunately, there wasn't a lot to it), La vie en rose (came with cute heart shaped glasses), and the out in the cosmos- both of those drinks were good but pricy for what you get. I enjoyed the hamachi crudo as a starter but the other 3 did not. We also had the chicken wings and we all enjoyed those probably the most out of everything! For our mains we all split the spaghettini, herb roasted chicken, and the steak. We asked for the steak medium rare and it came well done. The only good thing said about the meal was that the capers on the pasta were good- a compliment we all still laugh about today. It was a very expensive, underwhelming meal. The restaurant was empty on a Saturday night so that probably should have been our first sign. I think it was overhyped on social media and could definitely be skipped

Yelp
Decided to meet a couple friends for lunch and was finally able to check out Marelle. Ambiance is very nice, just as photos would suggest. If you sit on the patio, you get a view of the beach as well. Service was amazing as our server, Eduardo, was on top of everything. We started with the calamari and crab cake. Presentation of the crab cake was great, and the can't itself had a nice amount of crab meat inside. The calamari was also good, but it was your basic fried calamari that you can get anywhere For entrees, we tried multiple items. The salmon Club was very interesting, pairing salmon and bacon together, but it actually worked and was really good. Large slices of salmon were in the sandwich along with avocado, bacon, beefsteak tomatoes with a tarragon aioli. Very good. The Chicken jidori sandwich had a large, jucy piece of chicken with a crispy fry on the outside. A really nice bite. The snakeriver farms burger comes with caramelized onions and a white cheddar cheese. Shady cooked well and tasty. Overall, great ambiance, especially sitting outside, with good food as well. I'd say to skip the calendar as you can get that anywhere, but everything else was solid

Yelp
Had a fantastic time here for their golden hour with some friends. This is an absolutely gorgeous restaurant located downstairs in the beautiful Sandbourne Hotel in Santa Monica. It's spacious with both outdoor and indoor seating. The design and details were all stunning. The service was friendly and very accommodating. We ordered all four food items from their happy hour menu and they were all really good. Great shareables, easy to eat, tasty and addictive. We ordered seconds on some of the apps. The drinks were as delicious as they were decorative. The Le vie en rose cocktail came with cute souvenir heart shaped rose-colored glasses. The marelle marg and the hive of paradise were also hit drinks in our group. Parking options: hotel parking valet, metered street parking, nearby parking garages

Yelp
My friends and I visited Marelle for a weeknight birthday dinner. We ordered the arancini, calamari, whipped feta, and New York steak. For cocktails, we ordered the out in the cosmos and la vie en rose which came with sunglasses- a very nice and unique touch. I wasn't too impressed with the quality of food and drinks for the price and wouldn't seek to come back for dinner, but would consider visiting again for brunch. Great variety in appetizer options, but the entrees weren't as enticingThe interior design of the restaurant was beautiful and there was a nice ambience. Our server Alberto was very kind and hospitable.

Cindy Y.

Yelp
I came here for a girl's night for dinner and drinks on a Saturday evening. We valeted ($11 for 4 hours) but there are public parking lots nearby with a short walk. The views and vibes are gorgeous. Our table had a beach view as it was outdoor, but the interior of the restaurant is beautiful as well. There's not a bad place to sit. We all got the same pasta (mushroom cream) and liked it. Prices are somewhat high but to be expected for the ambiance in Santa Monica. Service was okay, like others mentioned. It did take the staff a while to take our orders but we were having a good time in the meantime.

Holly V.

Yelp
Let me start this review off by saying a lot like everyone else I was seeing this place all over Instagram and how beautiful the interior aspect of everything looked. It was 100% my vibe and definitely added to the list of places to check out. My boyfriend and I went this past weekend and our experience overall was "ok". This is restaurant inside the Sandbourne hotel in Santa Monica. It's relatively easy to get to and we ended up just doing valet parking which worked out so we didn't have to try to find any parking on the street. We got to our reservation and we were seated right away. Again beautiful interior, beautiful furnishings overall the aesthetic of everything was spot on. Our server was very nice, but I would say a little less than attentive. He came by once to take our drink order & keep in mind that they have a special seashell glass cocktail that they do charge $10 just to drink from I was told. He then came by a second time to take our order. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and my boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs. I was expecting a little more since this is a Michelin rated chef however I felt the flavor was lacking in both dishes. It wasn't horrible but again I was just expecting a little bit more wow factor and I don't feel like we got that. The drinks were OK. I would say it's nothing extreme or extravagant and the food was just "ok". After our waiter brought out our food, we never saw him again. We sat there for maybe about 35 minutes or so after the meal and my boyfriend was wanting to order another drink, but he had never came back around to check on us to see if we needed anything. We ended up having to ask another employee to let our server know that we wanted the check . Although it was none of our business, we could hear the surrounding tables around us complaining that they hadn't received their food in over an hour, and they had been sitting there before we were seated. I'm not sure what was going on. Maybe they were just short staffed but you could over hear multiple tables complain. We proceeded to leave and again a beautiful walk-through of the grounds very close to the beach. You can actually see the beach from the outdoor seating area as well as the pool. Maybe since this is a new restaurant that just opened they don't have the staff yet to accommodate but then you would think they wouldn't open yet? I think that played into a lack of service indefinitely. Maybe in the future they will have more people to accommodate the volume. If you definitely want that picture for the gram I definitely would say check this place out but food wise and drink wise. I feel that there are some better options nearby.

Julie Marie W.

Yelp
Lunch like this deserves a standing ovation--and maybe a sequel. The whipped feta? A cloud of creamy perfection. The calamari? Golden, tender, and downright addictive. And the beef carpaccio? Delicious! The cocktails weren't just drinks; they were masterpieces in a glass, with layers of flavor and flair that had us questioning if we'd wandered into a five-star bar by mistake. As for the ocean view? It stole the show--but only just. And the chef? An absolute star, popping out not once but twice to check in like a culinary superhero. The staff was as polished as the glassware, making the entire experience a masterclass in hospitality. Fridays like this make every other day jealous.

Lucia L.

Yelp
Saw this place all over Instagram, and to be fair, the ambiance is absolutely beautiful, with minimalistic, modern art deco and Tulum inspired furniture and fixtures overlooking a pool and the ocean. This is definitely a beautifully designed space that would ideally be perfect for relaxing and grabbing a meal/drinks with friends or on a date. I had high expectations for the food, as the restaurant is by the Michelin awarded Raphael Lunetta, and I've had a pleasant experience at his Lunetta restaurants in Santa Monica. However, the food and the drinks were abysmally bad, and I was VERY disappointed by the quality of what was being served. Hamachi crudo: I really enjoyed this at Lunetta, but what was served to me was NOT the same dish despite appearances. The hamachi was WARM and soaked in a salty brine, and the fruit did little to save this dish Avocado toast: avocado toast was decently well made, but for $16 without the $3 egg add on, it's definitely not worth the price point. Also came with a salad that was soaked in brine Fish tacos: this was the best dish out of the three, and while the ingredients were fresh and high quality, the flavors and textures were a bit disjointed and didn't go well together We ordered two drinks, and while the Honey Bee was well-made and refreshing, the drink with the rose-colored glasses straight up tasted horrible, like a shot of straight alcohol. We had to end up squeezing in the lemon from our fish tacos to save the drink, but it was definitely shocking that they would serve something like this to a customer. Overall, I would probably wait a few weeks for this spot to sort out its kinks before coming by here for a visit. There's a lot of work to be done to improve this restaurant, and I hope management takes into consideration the poor reviews and makes the necessary changes.

Alberico N.

Yelp
Love the restaurant and the view. Great cocktail menu. My preferred for lunch is the salmon club sandwich!

Mary V.

Yelp
Great ambience and fun drinks. Will be back for food. Disclaimer the sea shell drink is $25 and very strong! Comes in the cutest sea shell glass with leftover drink in a second martini glass.

Jaime J.

Yelp
So we had a date night here, it was a bit quiet and we loved it! Amazing style and the food wonderful! We actually went back for the breakfast, cocktails are top notch and the staff was very kind and helpful. Make sure you have the fried calamari, it was delicious!!

Raya C.

Yelp
Such a cute spot in Santa Monica! My boyfriend and I went on a Friday night, and surprisingly, it wasn't too busy. We only ordered drinks and appetizers. My cocktail was a little on the sweet side, but overall, we had a good experience. The only downside was that our server didn't check on us as often as we would've liked. Overall, great ambiance and would return again.

Angel M.

Yelp
New Favorite Spot: Not only is this place so beautiful but the food, drinks and services are spectacular!! I had an awesome experience thanks to Alina, she was very welcoming, super helpful (knew the menu so well). Nichole is extremely amazing too. I ordered the star of the sea, it was excellent I love coming to a place were the ambience is as beautiful as the service. The restaurant workers are so bright, it made my experience far more enjoyable. The kindness I got from Alina makes me want to come back again and again. Every detail of this places makes it very enjoyable. Everyone that works here, keep it up. it makes me look forward dinning here for most occasions!

Nicole C.

Yelp
This hidden gem is in the Sandborne Hotel. We came for my sisters bday. Didn't even know this was here but she found it on TikTok. Food was so delicious! Best Caesar salad we've ever had, the arancini and burrata was PHENOMENAL! Calamari serving was huge and so delicious!!! The servers were so sweet and they were so so attentive. The vibez were immaculate. Highly recommend. Ricardo was our server and so great!! Thank you Ricardo!!!

Jaenell C.

Yelp
Came here for brunch with the girls on Sunday and had a blast! I'm honestly a little mystified by the negative reviews. Guess it depends on the day. Views of the ocean and the pool are really hard to beat. When we came it was pretty empty and they sat us in this secluded little table. It was sunny we felt like we were in a socal Sex and The City episode. Pro tip: there's a DJ on Sundays spinning upbeat, dance music. We ordered coffee, tea, drinks and mocktails and split several brunch items. Our server was attentive but not annoying. Drinks were a little slow to come but tasty when they did arrive. Out of everything we ordered I loved the Caesar with salmon the most. The caprese omelette was honestly flavorless and needed salt. The lemon ricotta pancakes were good but kinda dense like they'd been over mixed. The crab cake was delicious! Wish we had gotten two. For four of us the price seemed reasonable and we stayed for hours. They never harassed us to leave or give up our table like some restaurants do which I really appreciate. Overall I'll be back and I'm excited to introduce new people to this spot.

Lili K.

Yelp
We came here for brunch, and loved it! The fried chicken, lemon pancakes, and fries were all solid. Best of all, I loved the pretty drinks that came in a seashell and with pink sunglasses!!

Lonia G.

Yelp
The restaurant and outdoor view is beautiful, however they still need to work through kinks. The restaurant is downstairs once you get inside the Sanbourne hotel, but the elevator to get down only works with a hotel key so you will have to walk down from outside as the inside staircase was under construction. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating but our food came out and we were still waiting on drinks. The food was not good. I got the mushroom spinach omelet and it was very dry and not much flavor. The small jelly jar that came with my toast was already open and used by someone else. They give you two and the other jar was new. The wine was warm as well. Not sure if i would be back but the place has potential due to location and views.

Giselle G.

Yelp
The food was amazing and super instagram worthy, Don't even get me started on the customer service, everyone was so sweet. Such a cute place for pics, def coming back

Cecile C.

Yelp
The space is beautiful. Definitely the outdoor seating is fantastic with all the lights and fire pits. The food was delicious and the presentation incredible. For sure a gem . We went back twice already!!! The staff is efficient and sweet

Charles V.

Yelp
Located in the Sandbourne Hotel, this restaurant offers its patrons some high quality food with an eclectic beach vibe. We stayed in the hotel for several days and had the opportunity to sample the restaurant a number of times. Our "go to" meal was breakfast ... and on several occasions I really enjoyed the Breakfast Sandwich. It was served on sourdough bread and very well prepared. It came with a side of roasted potatoes and a small salad. Perfect start to the day! The staff was very friendly as well. However, I did notice that the attentiveness of the wait staff could have been better. There were a few times we were waiting longer than expected for drink refills and to get our check. And for the prices charged in combination with low occupancy, I would have expected more. Hence, preventing me from offering a 5 star rating.

Zoe H.

Yelp
Beautiful interior! I felt like I was in Bora Bora or some other tropical adjacent. I ordered the burger which I forgot to take a picture of but it was juicy. I got a side of ranch and it tasted a little too pungent. Also ordered a drink, La vie en rose, which came with a pair of glasses which explains why it was $24! Still over priced in my opinion and the drinks were small, but it was a well crafted cocktail. It was fairly empty for a Sunday for lunch, the waiter was attentive in the beginning but then it was hard to track him down to get our check. Overall nice experience and would love to comeback and sit on their patio for some apps and a drink.

Dr. Varo B.

Yelp
Came for sunday brunch at 2:15pm, with dJ, and undertand the 3 star rating, totally justified. Positives: 1. DJ music 2. View - partually obstructed ocean views, got 4-5 tables that have a good view, the rest dont 3. Overall vibe is great, when its warm and its full, would be fun to come for a drink only 4. service - reception and waiter Kevin were amazing, thank you Negatives: 1. Limited brunch menu - only like 10 items on the menu, and they were out of what we wanted - so barely any choices 2. Cocktails are PRE-made - sucks because you cant change anything and for $20+ price I prefer a bartender and a proper cocktail not some premixed punch with 5% alcohol 3. Charging $10 for orange juice is shameless!

Celine L.

Yelp
This is located in the new Sandbourne Hotel and it's absolutely stunning! It reminds me of the Mediterranean with neutrals and terracotta. Vibes are just right for Santa Monica, and they're serving up fresh Californian fare and a great bar program with light and refreshing cocktails. If you want something fun, there's a secret menu seashell martini cocktail you can order called star of the sea! The food is reminiscent of coastal Californian fare, with a bright and refreshing kanpachi crudo, crab cake with sweet corn, and a must order French onion dip. For entrees, we got the chef's signature 24 oz black angus ribeye that came with an onion tower, the lemon mushroom rigatoni and the Mac and cheese. The ribeye was so tender and flavorful - this was surprisingly our favorite dish. The lemon rigatoni was light and refreshing and not heavy like a typical pasta. The Mac & cheese does have blue cheese in it which we were not aware of so if you don't like blue cheese this is a warning! We had such a fun and vibey time here - it didn't feel like we were in LA at all. So excited that they're open in Santa Monica with delicious food, cocktails and the perfect view of the beach from here!

Marilyn P.

Yelp
The food is wonderful and delicious -you can tell that only quality, fresh ingredients are used and prepared with care. The ocean view and the calming and beautiful decor transports you. You forget that you're in the heart of Santa Monica. The service is always warm and accommodating. I stay at the Sandbourne Hotel often for work, and the food at Marelle for both breakfast and dinner is wonderful and consistently delicious. Watching the sunset with a cocktail from their patio is something that I highly recommend!

Cynthia P.

Yelp
First time trying the restaurant and the lobby staff directed us to use the south side hallway which was all hotel rooms (unwelcoming) and then we had to cross the outside pool area (50 degrees outside). When we left, we found out there was a more direct and shorter way that did not require we go out in the cold night. That's minor but annoying because I had my elderly mom and she found the extra outdoor walk very uncomfortable. The food was good but all of our dishes were delivered COLD and my steak was over done. I asked the waiter if the kitchen was far away (explain the cold food) but he said that it was just a few feet away. The service was very lukewarm. The waiter did not really know the menu well. I asked about the "Butterscotch Budino" and he could not tell me what it was. I was not sure either but I later found out it was an Italian pudding. The staff really needs to be better trained. I expected a bit more for a service that ran almost $100 per person

Nush K.

Yelp
The service was absolutely amazing. I loved the quick service and staff was attentive and answered any questions we had about the menu. The food was delicious. I would 100% recommend the Burrata Tomato. Super delicious you can ask for more crostinis. The fish was very fresh and cooked perfectly. The ambiance is amazing, restaurant located in a hotel and beautifully decorated. Dessert was very yummy as well, we ordered the French Cream Cheesecake and it was delicious.

Yelp
Ricardo and Edwin were absolute angels and took such good care of us on my sisters birthday! The food was delicious - we especially loved the Burrata appetizer - and the drinks were a 10/10! Located in the Sanbourne Hotel, the vibes were also immaculate - they have an ocean view and gorg decor. Valet parking only or metered parking across the street. The best!!!

Yelp
The food was incredible, the service was amazing and Ricardo and Edwin are the best. My friend sent me a birthday drink and Edwin made sure I got it and personally delivered my friend's message - it was so so sweet! We definitely will be back!

Yelp
Big shout out to Andrew the bartender love the service and friendly banter he provided while waiting to check in. Grabbed some calamari and chicken meatballs, which were also delicious. The restaurant gives off big Tulum vibes, highly recommend!!!

Yelp
It was a peaceful relaxing upscale atmosphere with a bit of an ocean view. Breakfast was very nice and the presentation was on point. Walking distance to the beach, a nice stroll after brunch was perfect. Local to the area but it felt like being on vacation. The eggs Benedict, salad with salmon, and the chicken and ricotta pancakes were great. The espresso had a hazelnut berry flavor. Overall it's a great place to go for brunch!

Yelp
We were a bit skeptical having dinner at Marielle , because we were thinking of going to ocean meat. I must say , having dinner at Marelle was a lovely time. Our server Kevin went above and beyond to make us feel like we had chosen the right place for dinner . Thank you Kevin .

Yelp
Lovely service from Andrew this afternoon [sunday] and the same from Nicole Friday evening. The cocktail below was delightful (pricey but worth the taste!).

Yelp
This new restaurant, the whole coastal aesthetic is to die for. Sitting inside the Sandbourne Hotel in Santa Monica, Marelle matches the perfect coastal oasis. Food is good. Hamachi crudo tastes so fresh. The steak frites and chicken sandwich are also so good. The only confusing part was on their website they have Brunch and Lunch Menu but when we asked for the lunch menu since we got there at 12 pm they said they only serve brunch but still was able to accomodate the lunch food we wanted. Overall the location is 5/5, food is 4/5. Come here if you want to experience California coastal aesthetic. Beach is also walking distance.

Yelp
Did other people and I eat at the same restaurant? I dragged my friends here because everyone was posting about this place on social media making it look amazing. Well, I gotta say. Ya got me. Ya got me good. It was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while. Fries? how would you like a piece of potato masquerading as a fry? salt? that's extra. Crispy? how about half cooked? Burger? I think all the salt that was supposed to go on the fries went on the burger instead. Salad? Doesn't need dressing. it's $30 and it doesn't need dressing. Just eat grass. Service? I think they asked their kitchen staff to cover for the waiters they hadn't hired yet. I seriously don't know what people are falling for. Is it the west elm decor? I'd rather eat an Architectural Digest magazine than dine here again. I'm not kidding. Our bill was $192 for four people. We ordered one dish and a drink each. For $48 a person you can surely find a stellar meal elsewhere in LA. So, if you're into terrible food, worse service, and feeling like you've made a series of bad life choices, definitely check this place out. Otherwise, save yourself the misery.

Yelp
We came here for my birthday for an early dinner and let me say we absolutely loved it! The ambiance of this place was absolutely beautiful the view to the ocean and the pool deck, along with the inside of it how beautiful the decor was. We ordered the burrata tomato for appetizer and we absolutely loved it was such a unique taste and combination we ended up asking for more toast crackers to finish the dish! Then we also ordered the snake river farms cheeseburger which turned out amazing with the side of fries the portion was good and the meat was so juicy and delicious ! The mocktails we got were the California dreamin' and the rosy glow! I feel liek the California dreamin' was a bit bitter for me although the rosy glow was super tasty and had a perfect amount of sweetness to it! And last but not least the dessert we got the French cream cheesecake which definitely was the best cheesecake I've had in a long time the crust of the cheesecake tasted liek butterscotch or toffee along the lines of that the cheesecake itself was so creamy and good along with the fruit that ties the flavors all together perfectly !The service from the waiters was amazing they were so sweet and very helpful with the menu from explaining the menu and also just being extremely accommodating and kind to us during the whole experience!! I cannot wait to come again to try more dishes !

Yelp
Last weekend I had a chance to try Marelle for lunch. It is located in Sandbourne Hotel in Santa Monica. The location is beautiful, you are just a minute away from the beach. As of now, you don't need reservation to get a table as both hotel and restaurant are not busy. We tried hummus, french fries, fried calamari (all average), fennel orange chicken (very dry, needs more dressing, 3/5), lemon mushroom rigatoni 3/5. Drinks were average as well. Service was good, I could see that the staff was trying their best. I would recommend this place for a glass of wine to enjoy a beautiful sunny day in Santa Monica and maybe few appetizers, but not full lunch or dinner.

Yelp
***Brad H.'s review could not be more spot on. We really wanted to like this place. Really. Based on the amazing IG reels we kept seeing for this place, my friend and I headed here for Fourth of July thinking it was going to be lively and a great way to celebrate the holiday. I even called in advance about reservations and the woman (who was quite snotty/unfriendly) told me there were no openings (this is laughable once you keep reading my review) but that they did accept walk-ins but we may "have to wait longer" in that case. So we thought we'd 'chance' it and see if we could snag a seat. WHAT A JOKE. We get there around noon and it's absolutely EMPTY with the exception of a singular table. We even had to double check the name on the menu to make sure we were in the right place. They should give their social media / content creator a high five and a raise because they completely had us fooled into thinking we were checking out "Santa Monica's hottest new spot". Ha. We stood at the check-in counter for a good 5 minutes before anyone noticed us. Even when they did notice us, you think they'd pounce on a customer as there was literally no one else there, but they told us to please wait until they circled back around. When we finally got seated at a table, there were two empty tables beside us that hadn't been bussed yet - covered in food plates and empty glasses --- and they remained there the ENTIRE time we were seated. It was disgusting and so bizarre that they didn't care - and anytime an employee walked by, they'd ignore the mess as if it didn't exist. I kept getting whiffs of pancake syrup from the leftover dishes. Because it was so dead and the vibe was so depressing and the service abysmal (although, I will say the decor was pretty cute), my gf and I debated whether or not we should just leave but.....we didn't want to be rude, so we made the decision to stay and get like one app/drink each and move on because this place was certainly NOT how we wanted to celebrate our fourth. We ordered the calamari, crab cakes and some margaritas. The calamari was decent but the crab cakes were super basic and the drinks tasted off (not sure how you screw up a plain margarita but it tasted super smoky and not good - plus, I asked for no salt and, shocker, it came with salt along with a lemon wedge instead of lime). Needless to say, we asked for our check soon after. It was just a really disappointing experience overall and we both agreed we'd most likely never return. I recommend you walk a couple blocks and head to Élephante instead where they have great drinks and amazing views/vibes. (That's what we did and ended up having the best time). But whatever you do, don't fall for the social media buzz and waste your time at Marelle's unless you're into the lacking, desolate kinda vibe? :)
