"A seafood-led restaurant with Galician ambitions is set to open on Berwick Street, showcasing langoustines, crabs and lobsters prepared with Spanish/Basque stylings built around a specials board. It is the third London venture for chef-operator Stephen Lironi, who also runs Stoke Newington’s Escocesa and tapas sibling Bar Esteban in Crouch End, and promises to carry the same Scottish-seafood-served-in-Spanish-stylings formula from N16. Expect simple neighbourhood Iberian dishes such as gambas al ajillo and pulpo, paired with Basque txakolina for an unpretentious dinner. The company was incorporated in June 2021, the site is replacing Yumchaa at the same address, and the restaurant is currently recruiting staff with an opening likely in a few weeks or months." - James Hansen

If you’re in Soho and craving great seafood, Maresco is a solid choice. It’s got a cool, laid-back vibe with an open kitchen and a nice buzz without feeling hectic. The seafood is the star — fresh, simple, and full of flavour. Oysters and sea bass ceviche are especially good, and everything feels well made without being fussy. Cheesecake was exceptional! There’s also a strong Spanish wine list that pairs really well with the food. Overall, it’s a great spot for dinner with friends or a casual date. Definitely worth checking out. We’ve been looked after really well by Kelly -professional with great knowledge of the menu. We had a great time and will be back!

Solid meal. The wild seabass ceviche was fantastic, the quality of the fish stood out. The sobrasada and Mahón cheese croquetas, venison, Txistorra, chipirones and the black rice were also top-tier. Also, great finds on the wine list too, both the Taganán from Tenerife and the Parajes del Bierzo paired really well with the food. Definitely coming back! (Often)

We stopped in for a late lunch and were pleasantly surprised on how great this place is. We also found out it’s owned by same person that had escocessa up in Stoke Newington which we also love. I’ve included some pics to show you all the food. The fish sausage was really tasty! The squid ink with fish was also very tasty. Just to note, the service was fantastic and the server was very helpful explaining menu items and helping with wine selection.

Absolutely loved dinner here last night. Incredible high-end Spanish food with seriously great flavours. The place is gorgeous and has such a fun vibe, and Kelly was a fantastic host who really made the whole night for us. Can’t wait to come back.

It was my first visit, and I will definitely be returning soon. This is a wonderful little spot with a great atmosphere. As someone who works in hospitality, I truly appreciate excellent service and quality food, and both were outstanding. The croquetas were 1A — absolutely excellent and full of flavor. The ceviche, while not a traditional ceviche, was exceptionally clean, fresh, and beautifully prepared. Everything we tried was delicious. The service was exceptional from start to finish. A special thank you to Kelly — she was absolutely incredible and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

The food was absolutely delicious, service quick and attentive and great atmosphere. This is a good place for a date. You can sit at the counter and watch them prepare the food , however the stalls can be quite uncomfortable so if you’re planning on a longer relaxing dinner I’d recommend booking a table downstairs. The king prawns were very tasty and so was the squid ink rice ( large portion , recommend to share) , the pan con tomate was quite strong on the garlic but really good. Wasn’t extremely impressed with the crema catalana ice cream as there wasn’t much flavour to it but a good soft ending to the dinner.

The environment was clean and lively. Was fun eating different Spanish tapas. Went with two friends, and we tried some of the sea food. You can actually watch the Chefs prepare the meal. Funny but I forgot to take a picture of the meal but remembered to take a picture with the Chefs. What can I say? I have an irresistible weakness for men who can cook 🤣. Well done you all. And thank you Naroa for a lovely day.

My friend and I were nearby and came across this place when deciding dinner. A cute little place with open counter seating facing the kitchen / the road with table seating downstairs. We had the razor clams, charcoal cauliflower, the whole grilled fish with anchovy butter (forgot what kind of fish 😭) and the bread pudding. The fish was the star of the show, flaky and melted in your mouth! Kind staff as well, would definitely come back to try the rest of their menu.
