Marfa Spirit Co. is a true gem—offering an atmosphere that’s as inviting as it is unique. The vibe is perfect for a relaxing evening with friends, blending rustic charm with an understated elegance that immediately makes you feel at home. We started with the Heritage Flight, which featured Gin, Single Rum, Sotol, and Rum Reposado. Each one was exquisite, showcasing the craft and dedication that goes into every bottle. It was the perfect introduction to their impressive distillery lineup. The cocktails, however, were the real standout. Each drink was masterfully crafted, offering a balance of bold flavors and subtle sophistication: • The Old Fashioned (made with Chihuahuan Desert Sotol, Piloncillo, and Cacao Bitters) had a rich and smoky profile that redefined a classic. • The Fancy G-N-T (Chihuahuan Desert Gin, Mint, Olive Oil, Fever Tree Tonic Water) was refreshingly herbal with an unexpected yet delightful twist of olive oil. • The High Desert Margarita (Marta Blanco Tequila, Rio Grande Orange Liqueur, Fresh Lime, Lime Oleo) delivered a tangy and vibrant take on a traditional favorite. • The Paloma (Chihuahuan Desert Sotol, Rio Grande Grapefruit Liqueur, Ginger, Squirt, Fresh Lime) was light, citrusy, and perfectly balanced for sipping. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual drink or celebrating something special, Marfa Spirits is a place where you can unwind and savor the best of what craft spirits have to offer. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

Fantastic experience. Tried the Desert & Heritage flights. Amazing spectrum of spirits. The gin, tequila & mezcal were my favorites. Definitely a must try if you love spirits or craft cocktails. Chill ambiance.

Marfa Spirits Co. is where good vibes and great cocktails collide! The atmosphere is as cool as a West Texas breeze, the drinks are crafted to perfection, and the chill ambiance makes it the perfect spot to unwind. Whether you’re a cocktail connoisseur or just looking for a great hangout, this place delivers. Cheers to a spot that’s as refreshing as its drinks!

Had a great time at Marfa Spirit! The Espresso Martini and the Chihhuahua Dog are must-tries. The Chihuahua Dog is not your average hot dog. The fresh and creative toppings, including fresh herbs and microgreens, make this a completely new cravable food option in the Big Bend area. And the Espress Martini is the best I've had with mole, honey, and Marfa Spirit's own Chihuahuan Desert Vodka. And don't forget to try the Cherry Daiquiri, too.

Google
Love Marfa Spirit Co! Super nice staff, excellent cocktails made from their own Sotol (slightly similar to mezcal but a bit brighter) as well as their own rum, gin & vodka. They always have events so be sure to check out their Instagram/website for updates. They also have some short order food (when not having pop-up food events) and I can't recommend the hot dogs enough! I don't know where they get the dogs but they aren't the cheapies...so flavorful! The cocktails were on point! Quite possibly the best Paloma I've been had but the High Desert Margarita and the Chihuahuan Old Fashioned definitely gave it a run for the money. They also have two frozen cocktails which were refreshing to say the least. Lastly, they also brew their own (cheap) beer but were out at the time of our visit. Best part? Everything was very reasonabley priced! Fantastic vibe, wonderful people and tasty drinks...what more could you want?

Amanda

Google
A fun spot! Dog friendly, good drinks at reasonable prices. Would return!

We were the only 4 in the bar. We were totally ignored by the bartender who was looking at her phone. We went to the bar to order. Locales came in after us, and she made their drinks first. She then made our drinks and left them on the bar. I had to get them. She never came to ask us if we wanted more drinks when we were done. Which was ok because we left. The drinks were pretty good. But the service ruined the experience.

Google
I’m not a huge fan of sotol but this was a very cool little bar spot in marfa, with lots of other options to buy, good drinks and nice staff working. Really good grapefruit liqueur.

Yelp
I love this distillery/cocktail lounge so much. It's the perfect dessert gem. Rustic decor with indoor and outdoor seating. Perfectly curated cocktails made with house (their own) spirits. Here's a great bonus-buy a bottle, get a free drink! How great is that? Of course I bought a bottle of vodka to add to my house collection. Really high-quality cocktails that you'd find at any 4-5 star lounge. Affordable! It was really cool to mix it up with Marfa residents as well as other tourists. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Yelp
If you find yourself in Marfa, Texas, and you're not stopping by Marfa Spirit Co, what are you even doing with your life? This place is a whole vibe--like someone took the essence of Marfa's artsy desert magic, bottled it, and then said, "Now let's add booze." First off, let's talk about the star of the show: the sotol. I didn't know much about sotol before coming here, but now I'm basically a self-declared sotol sommelier (read: I drank a lot of it and loved every second). It's smoky, earthy, and somehow manages to make you feel both fancy and rugged at the same time. Their cocktails are top-notch--think desert chic in a glass. The bar itself is as hip as you'd expect in Marfa. Picture an old, wooden cowboy saloon with JBL speakers and some neon. You could see a hip indie act here while tying your horse up outside. Ten out of ten, would drink again.

Yelp
Great vibe, excellent drinks and food, and fabulous service = dang good time! Rustic wooden bar and full of charm, we ended up staying for two rounds of drinks. We would have stayed longer but there was no TV to watch the Red River Rivalry. The drinks here are amazing. Interesting mixes and concoctions make it hard to choose one so we didn't. Our lineup included: Margarita Strawberry Basil smash Paloma Salty Dog They have a few small bites! Definitely get the loaded chihuahua hot dog and chips & salsa. And get ready to have a good time!

Tina L.

Yelp
Not to be missed! The service, ambiance and cocktails were fantastic! Our bartender was extremely knowledgeable. We had a group of 10 and each left with a bottle of Sotol. They were out of merch Although, I will either order or get upon my return someday. Definitely will be back! It was the perfect vibe to begin my 50th birthday shenanigans!

Bob K.

Yelp
Our bartender, Nathan was tremendously knowledgeable and friendly, and made some delightful cocktails. The highlight for me was learning about Sotol, which was an exciting discovery, and new favorite - thank you Nathan!

Christina C.

Yelp
I work in the service industry and have to say, this is the worst service I've received in a long time. Completely inattentive and our empty glasses and garbage sat in front of us for over 30 mins. I had to collect our empties and put it to the side for them to notice. If you know good tequila and mezcal you would know this is not it. I didn't have high expectations since this is definitely giving gentrified, yuppy vibes from the moment you walk in. I was hoping it would surprise me but the tequila tasted like rubbing alcohol. The mezcal was bland and lacking depth, smokiness and flavor. Some things should come from Mexico and shouldnt be attempted otherwise. I happen to think tequila and mezcal are best from actual source, not whatever this is. The queso was pretty good, they greens on it which I actually liked but for $9 it was served to us halfway full. Thats a little ridiculous

Yelp
You have to go! The bar itself is a really nice spot with amazing service. I wish I remembered our bartender's name because she was awesome! The drinks were SO good and so unique. I totally recommend the Salty Dog. It's one of the best drinks I've ever had thanks to the pink peppercorn! They had plenty of merch and spirits to take home, so stock up while you're there. If we lived near Marfa, we'd be regulars.

Yelp
My husband and I visited The Marfa Spirit numerous times during our stay in Marfa the end of September . Laura and Manny are very welcoming, and great bartenders mixing fresh ingredients with great spirits. We had a great time during our first visit to Marfa from the S.F Bay Area, and would love to visit again! Yelp
We stopped in for a drink after a long day of driving/traveling home to Austin and it was exactly what we needed. As soon as you walk in the vibes are great. Super cute and welcoming inside. Mimi made sure we were taken care of with delicious drinks and her playlist was perfect. She was also so sweet to chat with. We felt right at home and have already told our friends they need to stop in if they are ever in town. We will definitely be back as well. Thank you, Mimi!

Elliott H.

Yelp
Laura is the best bar tender I've ever been served by. The drinks are phenomenal. Try the mezcal (not too smoky)

Duke W.

Yelp
Needed a hat, had a drink with chips and queso.. skip the ranch water and have the chips and dip cause I'm not enough of a pretentious cowboy for this place...

Anne E.

Yelp
Excellent distillery tour and tasting with Laura! Don't miss it. Rum was the best in tasting. Also, liked the Desert Rose sotol.

Samantha F.

Yelp
Highly recommend! We came as a family & tried the Flight Two, the Chihuahua Dog & 2 basic dogs for the kids. Huge thumbs up all around. We also got the Chips & Queso which made the San Antonian's heart so happy. We also got the Paloma with Sotol. Literally everything was delicious. The atmosphere here is wonderful, chill & not stuffy. We had an awesome girl behind the bar serving us & she went above & beyond to accommodate my (annoying) food allergies. Favorite stop so far!

Savannah W.

Yelp
Best drinks in 100 miles. Seasonal rotations and great atmosphere. Don't miss this place as a local or if you're just passing through.

Katie A.

Yelp
Really loved this place. The outdoor seating is great. We tried an agua fresca and the desert margarita and both were delicious. Definitely the prettiest agua fresca (with garnish) that I've ever seen.

Emily M.

Yelp
Loved the vibe in here - had no issue finding a spot to sit at the bar on a friday evening, but there were enough people in the bar to make it a fun, social environment. Drinks were good, but not great. Solid spot overall, but not a 5 star must stop.

Hannah S.

Yelp
This is a solid chill vibe stop. Make sure to get the queso and salsa! Their cocktails are also delicious. It's a spot you could get a quick drink or sit for a long while.

Dara R.

Yelp
We had a great time and ended up going back again before heading to Terlingua last June. For the reviews that mentioned rude bartenders- this was the opposite of our experience. For the reviews saying the tequila was awful- they serve Sotol- not tequila. An acquired taste im sure -but we loved the different flavor. Will be back in the area this October to pick up more grapefruit liqueur for my Palomas, since I found their Sotol nearby in Liberty Hill

Samantha P.

Yelp
So marfa... unassuming from the outside and super cool inside. Tasty spirits... and small bites (good salsa). Cool little shop with affordable bottles and groovy wear to take home. Bartender shared the story and details behind the booze and was super approachable and welcoming (as they should and many these days are not). Would definitely recommend a visit... more unique then the bland hotel bar for sure.

Selina N.

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday afternoon and didn't have to wait for a spot at the bar. They had great drinks, friendly bartenders, and were super accommodating when I asked for their recommendations. Wish we could have stayed for their reverse happy hour! They serve bar snacks as well, chips and salsa/queso.

robin l.

Yelp
These serve an alternate tequila. We didn't care for it. They seem to serve anything else. Bartenders not particularly friendly, but no issues. It's a neat place but that tequila was awful. On that basis, wouldn't go back.

Rachel F.

Yelp
It's cool and trendy and has convenient hours, but the bartenders were super rude and condescending, hard to get a check too.

K S.

Yelp
So glad we found this place! It was lively & interesting. Just the perfect place to sit and have a drink and people watch. It felt like an old western saloon. Even though there was a decent crowd, we didn't feel cramped at all. Plus, they had a pop up Thai food place called Pranom Pop Up that was SO good. We had the brisket noodle bowl...I mean just out of this world tasty.

Adam E.

Yelp
Great drinks, great queso, great people - so friendly! Overall a great place to sit and relax.

Tomas H.

Yelp
Great cocktails and bartenders!! Nice atmosphere although a tad cold on cold days since there are no heaters but it is still a great place to hangout with friends.

Yelp
Cool space, good vibe for marfa. The rub, OVERPRICED!-cue gingerfication I've been to the last 3 steak nites. The 1st was really good the last 2 were meh-low quality meat but the same high a$$ -35 price! Then we come to the portions, you look over @ your neighbor & see hearty portions. So, you order & yours comes out & it's half that. I've seen this several times with different dishes. To the drinks we go$$, remember you are at the source of where their sotul, gin & vodka are made & every drink is $10-12 & up. Cuz the drink menu is crafty-jus not that great, But say you jus want a simple basic drink of choice tonic/soda & liquor...that's right, $10 & up. Yet you can buy a whole bottle for $22(fair). So you've had 1 drink 1 steak w/tip your $65 in the hole. 3drinks and food $100+ -Absurd. Come down to earth, I'm sure a lot more folk would love to have more than 2-3 drinks at a fair price of $6-8 apiece & stay a little longer.
