Thursday through Sunday, Jillian Duran’s wildly-flavored ice cream is served alongside Adam Mayer’s Basque-inspired snacks and cocktails, frozen drinks, seasonal spritzes, non-alcoholic concoctions, and THC beverages. Admission and access to the pint-sized pool at Margaret Place during Staycation hours is free." - Beth D’Addono

Where to Picnic Poolside in New Orleans This Summer

"Rising Sun is the cafe and coffee shop that opens into Margaret Place’s lovely courtyard, with its air of graceful authenticity and expansive outdoor seating. There’s a pretty little pool that is offered gratis — yes, you read that right — to diners and guests, with frequent DJ entertainment and all kinds of other surprises." - Beth D'Addono

Wow. I have so many good things to say about this place. We quickly chose to have our wedding at MP for many reasons: the gorgeous courtyard, transparent pricing/calendaring, and the honest owners. We really felt like we got everything on our checklist by choosing Margaret Place! Before the wedding, Trent and Laurel helped us with everything from designing specialty drinks (their drink package is insanely good btw) to ideas for our timeline, seating layouts, second line routes, music, and more. They were super kind and great to work with. During our wedding day, we took full advantage of getting ready in the bridal suite and it was so nice to have the place to ourselves. I loved not having to arrange a separate place to get ready and transport the bridal party. The bridal suite is gorgeous and spacious, and everything you would want. We had around 80 people and the courtyard space felt both intimate and spacious. The second line route closed down a part of St. Charles, which was pretty iconic. And we loved feeling like we were close to the FQ and GD while still being tucked away from random passerby’s. The owners and staff truly care about you having an excellent party, and our friends, family, and vendors all loved being there. Margaret Place is a THE place for your wedding!

I am a local New Orleans wedding photographer. We just recently shot this wedding at Margaret Place. It is the perfect place to have your wedding in New Orleans! Not only is the venue gorgeous and one of a kind but the staff there treats everyone right! The rooms are beautiful and spacious and every inch of this entire place is picture perfect!

We stayed in the Upriver room. We had a great stay. The room is nicely appointed. The bathroom is awesome with the bidet and digital shower. The only thing to consider for this room is the bed is very low to the floor. Not a huge problem for us, but I do wish it was a normal height bed. Also there is some traffic noise at night. Not a big deal. Kind of white noise. We would 100% stay here again and recommend it.

I booked 3 nights recently for a expo that I was attending nearby. The Manager was a pleasure to talk to! She was very responsive to questions and provided answers and info for everything I needed. The cafe' was very good and the staff was amazing and kind. They make a great breakfast sandwich! I had to leave very early on my last day (before the cafe' opened) and the chef offered to come in early just to make me some breakfast. The building was very nice and well kept. A beautiful historic building on the outside, but on the inside all of the rooms are very updated with a lot of modern amenities. This is one hotel where I feel the pictures do not lie. I would stay here again next time I visit NOLA.

My husband and I were absolutely blown away by our stay here! Trent and Jen were the most amazing hosts- going above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. They gave us amazing recommendations on places to visit, restaurants to hit, etc. that gave us a new appreciation for NOLA. Our room was incredible! The thought they put into their renovations was clear to see; heated towel racks, air purifier, and the most comfortable mattress/sheets are just a few of the amenities to look out for! Location was very safe and we felt very comfortable leaving our car parked on the street. You are super close to many great attractions. We have already recommended Margaret Place to all our friends and family, and can't wait to plan our next trip to stay here again!

My boyfriend and I spent Halloween weekend here, and we still talk about how much we loved this place. Beautifully renovated, super comfortable bedding, and the fanciest shower I have ever used. It is walking distance to all of the tourist attractions including bourbon street, but far enough that the noise is not an issue. We highly recommend staying here!

We booked Margaret Place for our wedding and reception, and couldn't be happier with that decision. The booking process was easy because everything is transparent on their website. For so many other venues you are playing phone tag to try to figure out what dates are available. We booked it site unseen, and finally went to see it a few months before our wedding. We met Trent, the owner, who obviously sees the place as a passion project. It's charming in daylight, but once the sun goes down the lighting is just beautiful. While we were planning our wedding they were in the process of adding additional services which to me, make this a no-brainer. Excellent kitchen and bar, beautiful bridal suite, a cafe on site. They brought us complimentary coffees while getting ready, and I ordered a tasty sandwich. If you are looking for an inside-outside breezy flow for your cocktail hour and reception, this is a great choice.

The hotel/space itself is very lovely. My biggest issue is location. Everything around Margaret Place is in ROUGH shape. The buildings are all peeling and appear dilapidated. Also, it's 1-2 blocks from an overpass, where many people are living. We got a tour from Trent, who didn't seem to want to give us tour. He was more interested in tell us how about how cool the people that come to events there are?? All in all, we decided against having an event here because of the lack of chemistry with event staff and the questionable safety of the immediate area.

Yelp
So much more than a wedding venue. Of course you can get married here, but you can also stay at this cute boutique hotel that sits across a small park where Margaret's statue (The Mother of Orphans) overviews the expressway. We were lucky enough to stay in the Connector room next to the Bridal Suite, and our room was super comfortable. Black out curtains wrap around the entire room making you feel at ease for restful sleep, or a nap. Locals tend to also use the patio for birthdays, small pool hangouts, and other celebrations. The DJ booth (plexiglass table) if you will sits between two of the rooms overlooking the sizable outdoor patio to hype up the party. If you don't mind a little music, FRIENDLY service from EVERY single staff associate, convenient bar on the first floor, and a good vibe overall then this is your place to explore during your next NOLA adventure. Thank you for a lovely long weekend MP!

Yelp
When you come to NOLA skip all the big busy hotels stay here! Margaret place is wonderful quiet and inviting, the staff is excellent and the place is beautiful. Located in a convenient place near the convention center, malls and shopping downtown. You can enjoy sitting in the courtyard or sitting in the endless pool while sipping on a drink from the cafe. The rooms are beautiful and did I say the staff / owners are Wonderful

Yelp
This place is just rad. I've been 2x now. The setting is so unique.... I had this super yummy Hash. The drinks are DEEEEEEISH. I had this cherry coffee drink that I've seen no where else on earth. I love this spot and will be coming back.

Yelp
This is an excellent hidden gem brunch/coffee place. It has a charming courtyard perfect for relaxing and working, with free WiFi. We ordered the hash, BEAT and breakfast sandwich and cranberry orange muffin all of which were delicious and made fresh. The spice mocha was beautiful and had a unique sweet heat. If you are in the warehouse or Lower garden, take the extra stroll and check it out!

Yelp
Great value and great location! Don't waste your money on Airbnbs and chained hotels. We booked a room for a quick getaway in New Orleans and had an amazing stay here. Trent and Jenn were both very accommodating and friendly. The room is extremely efficient and decorated with hotel guests in mind! I absolutely love the warmed towel racks, warmed seat covers, heated flooring, and digital screened shower panels!!! Definitely will be staying here again if we need a place to stay in the city!

Yelp
It was absolutely the best experience vising this hotel. From booking the online reservation until the time we checked out. Trent was amazing, answering every question that I had and making sure my girlfriend and I had a great stay! The atmosphere and the services were really great value to the money. The people were very nice and helpful. I will surely be visiting again. Thumbs up

Yelp
This was the most amazing stay. Jen was so nice and accommodating, and the customer service is elite! This place is a hidden gem, the heated floors, the shower, the side table, everything feels luxurious & cozy. Also, the area is just beautiful. If i could, I would give this place 10 stars

Yelp
I happened to find this gem on my many long searches of boutique hotels in the area. We could not be happier with our stay! My husband and I unexpectedly had flight delays, and were not able to get in until 1:00am of the night we were supposed to check in. We were greeted at the door, and shown great hospitality even with the very late arrival. I wish we could have arrived earlier to really get a better glimpse into what the rest of the place was like, but our room was beyond expectations. It was spotless, comfy & cozy, yet trendy. They thought of everything that guests may need, and had wonderful little touches of hospitality everywhere. And the bathroom/shower was amazing (it makes us want to update our own back home!) They were even gracious enough to let us have a late check out so my husband could attend his online classes. We would totally recommend this stay for anyone looking for a wonderful getaway! We can't wait to come back to stay whenever we get to visit NOLA next!
