My girl Christina has had a rough couple of weeks. Work has been hell. Actually, hell might be an improvement in circumstances to working at the VBA. I work there too. It really is hell.
Both of us were in pretty rough shape, both physically and emotionally. Again because of work for both of us. The VA really is a toxic environment. Also, Christina's little boy cat, Noah had a life threatening urinary blockage and needed emergency surgery.
She was given strict instructions to keep his cone of shame on at all times to prevent him from licking his incision. I love this little boy as if he were my own so I've been at her place a lot recently. He's such a wiley little troublemaker it takes four eyeballs to keep him from jumping, which is forbidden.
You may be asking yourself what does all this drama have to do with margaritas? Let me tell you something, when you've been in a state of hyper vigilance for two weeks and you're only in the eye of the hurricane, margaritas sooth your frayed nerves.
Sometimes you just have to say, step aside coffee, this is a job for alcohol. When I arrived at her place, she already had a plastic bag, full of fully prepared, ready to drink margaritas. And let me tell you, it was amazing.
As the tension drained away and the loopiness set in, we were sad when our bag was empty. Christina called over there to find out what kind of margaritas we had and the hostess told her it was the Vitamin C. It was so freaking good and soul soothing that we ordered another round after explaining to the gal why we needed more.
Our special delivery arrived with the sweetest hand written note from Allison, the host that took Christina's order. That's how customer service is done folks.
